It's so weird to me when people are like 'but that will cost the government money!' So what? They're the government, they're supposed to be spending money. What, you want them to take your tax dollars and then do nothing with it? Lock it all up in a big government vault and just look at it? Why are you so scared of giving a third grader lunch or a homeless person a house.
On April 16th 2025 the US federal government has proposed to change the interpretation of the endangered species act so that it no longer protects habitat.
This is open for public comment until the end of May 19th. Please comment and make your voice heard.
Wildlife need their habitat. If the ESA redefines harm so that habitat is no longer protected, the implications for wildlife would be catastrophic.
it's kinda terrifying to see people forget about the events that have transpired in gaza since oct 2023. every tragedy that once created mass outrage was soon forgotten as another tragedy took place.
it's just so disturbing to realise that no palestinian has emerged from this unscathed. everyone has a family member they lost, a friend they miss dearly, a home they long to return to but cannot because it no longer exists.
a very huge part of gaza is rubble. the recent ceasefire has allowed people the chance to attempt to rebuild their lost homes. my friend alaa is one of them. she wants her children to live under a proper roof. please consider helping her out. her fundraiser is verified.

I say "oh don't worry he doesn't bite" and you're confused because you don't see any dog but then you notice a single inchworm moving purposefully across the floor towards you at an alarming pace
We are a group of LGBTIQ+ refugees struggling to survive in Sudan. Every day, we face unimaginable persecution, violence, and rejection. On top of this, we are battling severe shortages of food, medical care, and shelter.
Hunger is a daily reality. Many of us go days without food, and medical assistance is nearly impossible to access. Our shelters are small and inadequate, leaving us exposed to harsh conditions. For lesbians, even basic sanitary products are out of reach.
With your help, we can change this. Your donation will go directly toward food, medication, and urgently needed tents to provide safe shelter. No amount is too small every dollar makes a difference in our survival.
🌍 Please donate today and be part of our fight for survival. Your kindness can help improve and even save our lives.

6 Tips for Crossing the Road
Look both ways
The road is for cars.Â
Make sure to look for them before crossing. Even when you have the right of way, cars have a lot of safety features and you have none.Â
Use designated crosswalksÂ
The road is for cars.Â
So is the crosswalk but, under brief and temporary conditions, you can use it too! Never jaywalk, never walk in the road, just hope there is a clear and functional sidewalk.Â
Cross at the light
The road is for cars.Â
There are rules and signs for them, but that can only go so far. Walk quickly and hold your breath and hope that the light doesn't turn. Make eye contact with drivers as their cars teem with potential energy, rumbling with disdain at the inconvenience of your crossing. Try to ignore the cloud of exhaust that you are in and they are above.Â
Leash your pets
The road is for cars.Â
Obviously.Â
To you, it may be natural to sacrifice so much space to them but to your dog, it is not. His instinct is to explore freely. You must curb it. Modern US car models have such high hoods that the average child, let alone dog, is obscured. Even on the sidewalk, hold the leash tight because the sidewalk (if you are so blessed) is next to the street and the threat still looms.
Look out for road kill
The road is for cars.Â
And no one was there to leash the deer.Â
Or the raccoon.Â
Or the cat.Â
Did you know that the most reliable sample method for wildlife in an area is looking at the roadkill?Â
Remember these tips
The road is for cars.Â
Cars are everywhere. In the city. In the suburbs. In the country. In the woods (the US Forest Service manages more roads than the entire Ministry of Transit in China.) Cars are everywhere because there are roads to bring them there, which is great if you are a car and want to get from place to place fast without worrying about the in-between.Â
Unfortunately, you are not a car.Â
You are an animal.Â
You are in-between.Â
So remember to look both ways.Â
Hey everyone, my name is Abdelmajed. I don’t usually talk much about myself, but today, I want to share a little piece of my story.
I was born and raised in Gaza, a place that has always been my home 🏡. I grew up surrounded by my family, my friends, and the streets that I knew like the back of my hand. Life wasn’t always easy, but we had love, laughter, and dreams. I used to think that no matter what happened, home would always be here. But life has a way of changing things in ways we never expect.
Over the past months, everything I once knew has disappeared. The streets that were once filled with children playing are now silent. The houses that held so many memories are now just rubble. And the people I loved—some of them are gone forever. 💔
But I don’t want this to just be a story of loss. I want it to be a story of hope. No matter how much has changed, I refuse to stop believing in better days. I refuse to stop dreaming of a future where I can rebuild, where I can find peace, where I can wake up in the morning without fear.
That’s why I’m here. To share my journey. To connect with people who believe in kindness and humanity. To remind myself—and anyone reading this—that even in the darkest times, there is still light. ✨
If you’ve read this far, thank you. I’d love to get to know you too. Tell me something about yourself in the comments. Let’s build something positive together. 💬💙

(#167 on the verified fundraiser list by el-shab-hussein and nabulsi) (but we had to make a new gfm campaign cuz our old organizer stopped contacting us).

I’ve been absent for days — we were suddenly evacuated after the surgical ward at our hospital was targeted. That night was hell.
I came back hoping for a bit of hope… but seeing the donations drop broke me more than I expected.
To the world: Do you think we’re lying? Is the BBC lying?
We’re being killed — in streets, in tents, even in hospitals.
We are human. Educated. We had jobs, dreams. Now we’re just trying to keep our families alive.
Please, share this. Help us be heard. Donate. Share. Speak up. Maybe it will reach a heart that cares.
