He managed to use it while Barley was still small to understand something. During the culmination of the film, the curse worked on a protective spell, but the result was unexpected… I decided that dark or evil Barley could definitely use some kind of axe infused with Phoenix stone , cause axes are cool, and because original hero Barley definitely uses the sword.
