Childhood. An innocent time for many.

Back in Yoimiya’s childhood, before she started making fireworks, her childhood was just like any other child’s. Despite the Vision Hunt Degree, she was like any other child. She catched Onikabuto and had participated in Beetle fighting, often beating Arataki Itto. She played Temari with you, her childhood best friend. She would go to the summer festival and help her dad out with the fireworks, then reunite with you, Itto and the others to try out the dango and all the other snacks during the festival.

Even back then, Yoimiya liked you a bit more than the others.

She would always approach you to play with each other, and often the two of you spotted with each other, arms slinged around each other’s shoulders, flying kites in the bright blue sky.

Before she knew it, she had breezed past her childhood days.

You, who were born in a minor noble family, still had to accept the wishes of your father, who deemed that it was time for you to attend noble lessons. The young you, who longed for carefree days with your best friend, would often sneak out with Yoimiya in the middle of the night, and the two of you would play with tiny sparklers, hushed conversations and laughter ringing through the night sky.

It was inevitable though, that your father would find out.

With increased supervision, it was hard for you to sneak out, and before long, the two of you lost contact.

The third time that you didn’t appear at your agreed meeting spot, she found her heart clenching at the thought of not being able to see you for a very long time. Her father was understandably worried when she lost her spark for a few days, right when she was in the middle of her studies of making fireworks.

A few days after that, she got her Vision in the middle of the night while tinkering with her fireworks, and she used it to start fires in the workshop for convenience. It was not until her father told her what a Vision was then she understood what it stood for.

Ever since then, Yoimiya had devoted herself to the art of fireworks, but as she looked at the fireworks she had created for the first time for the Naganohara festival, she wondered if you would be able to see it.

Her mind still could not forget you after all this time.

She wanted to show you a firework that you’ll never forget. Even if it only lasted for an instance, she had hoped that she would have a chance to show you a sight that you’ll imprint into your mind for eternity. That was her dream since her youthful days, and she never forget it. Then, she’ll confess to you at that moment, when she summoned her own courage.

Until she had to forget it.

“Have you heard? The Kamisato Clan’s Princess Ayaka is set for an arranged marriage with the (L/N)’s Clan Major (F/N)!”

“Really? That’s really sudden… I wonder what the Kamisato Clan and the L/N clan are thinking…”

If not for her quick reflexes, Yoimiya might have dropped her box of fireworks onto the floor.

No way…

Yoimiya rushes off to the many spots in the wild where she made so many memories with you and the other kids, now young adults.

By chance, her favourite spot, where you, Itto and Yoimiya had once promised to be friends forever, was occupied by a certain Oni.

“Not today, Itto.”

“Is it about Y/n getting hitched with that Kamisato Ayaka? *Sigh* Really, who was y/n to you?”

With a heartbroken smile, Yoimiya replied, her smile curved sadly.

“Y/n was my deep, forbidden love. The most magnificent dream of my adolescence.”

Before the firework could bloom, it was already doomed to never bloom in the night sky.

That was cemented in her mind the moment she saw you with Ayaka, with a serene and calm smile on your face.

A = Attractive (What do they find attractive about their partner?)

Physically: Ganyu loves the sound of your voice. When it's loud and boisterous she can't help but feel captivated by it, and when its low and subdued, it one of the most soothing things she has ever had the honor of listening to.

Mentally: Ganyu loves how patient you are. While her job demands that she regularly interact with those who demand immediate (and oftentimes impossible) results, you are her own personal little oasis away from it all which allows her to finally take a moment for herself.

B = Baby (Do they want a family? Why/Why not?)

Long story short, it's complicated. The answer to this question would be heavily reliant upon the lifespans of both you, and the children. For Ganyu, the only way she could see starting a family with you would be if both you and the children had extended lifespans like she does. If only one or neither of you lived as long as she did, then she would be very hesitant to even consider the possibility.

If both you and the children were human, then she would only get to spend at most a century with this family she was blessed with before you would all pass on. You being human but the kids immortal also wouldn't work. Ganyu was given to her human father to raise, but a large majority of her childhood was spent being raised by Cloud Retainer. If you were human, then even when you were an old man/woman the children would still only have matured to the physical age and mental maturity of toddlers.

If both you and the children were immortal, then Ganyu still be a little hesitant, (as she would worry as to whether her children would feel as isolated as she once did), but would be far more receptive to the idea of starting a family. The children being adopted or biological would mean very little to her.

C = Cuddle (How do they like to cuddle?)

It will take some time before it happens, but when Ganyu becomes comfortable with your presence in both her life and her personal space, you will find that she is 100% a touch-starved cuddle monster. Ganyu's favorite way to cuddle is to be curled up in your lap, with her head resting against your chest, while your arms wrap around her to hold her close. When you gain her absolute trust, she greatly enjoys having you lightly stroke her horns as you cuddle. Be warned though, she can and will steal your body heat like no tomorrow. Her Cryo Vision means she's fantastic to cuddle with in the summer though.

D = Dreams (How do they picture their future with their S/O?)

Ganyu's dreams for the future are relatively simple. Beyond the general continued peace and prosperity for Liyue Harbour, all Ganyu wishes for is that you remain safe and healthy no matter how many years may pass. Some more responsibilities beyond that of just secretarial work would be nice too.

E = Everything (You are my ____ (e.g. my life, my world…))

"Next to you, is where I want to belong. Even after centuries of wondering, I still do not know if I should be allowed to live side-by-side with humans or the Adapti. Maybe instead of trying to answer that I've been burying myself in numbers and reports trying to escape reality. But when I am with you, I feel as ordinary as everyone else, and your love makes me feel like I belong. So may I stay by your side."

F = Feelings (When did they know they're in love?)

Ganyu has a tendency to internalize and repress a lot of her more "uncertain" emotions, so it will take her a while before she even realizes herself that she has fallen in love. That being said, even if she does represses them, her crush on you tends to make itself known through other forms. When you're not present, Ganyu behaves as diligently as she always does. When you are in front of her however, all her attention seems to be laser focused solely on you.

Something about you just seems to demand her attention and gets her heart racing like no tomorrow. More than likely someone like Keqing will bluntly ask her why she behaves so strangely when you're around, resulting in her realizing that she might have feeling for you.

G = Gratitude (How grateful are they in general? Are they aware of what their S/O does for them?)

Ganyu is insanely grateful to have you in her life. A part of her still can't believe that she has been blessed with someone who loves and accepts her no matter how different she may be from both humans and Adepti. In her many centuries of living, her only goal has been to honor the contract she made with Rex Lapis. And while she still fully intends to honor that contract, perhaps it's time she made another with you.

H = Honesty (Do they have secrets they hide from their S/O?)

The only secrets Ganyu tries to actively keep from you are those which she is legally obligated not to reveal. Seriously, knowing which toothpaste Ningguang uses, probably requires signing like five NDAs. That being said, Ganyu also has a tendency to keep her own fears, worries, and insecurities to herself. She doesn't want to burden you with them, so even if its something which has been bothering her for a while, she would prefer to keep it to herself; especially if those worries are related to you and your relationship.

I = Injury (How would they react if you got hurt?)

Ganyu's handles you getting injured pretty decent. You don't live as long as she has or fight through the Archon War without being able to keep your cool under pressure. She's worries about you regardless, but generally her reactions will depend on how bad the injures you got were. Ganyu handles you getting a little hurt (cuts, bruises, broken bones) pretty well. Thanks to all of her experiences, she's pretty good at being able to gauge how bad an injury is at a glace and what she needs to do medical treatment wise to make sure you're going to be okay.

You getting hurt severely (life and death situations) is where she really starts to panic. When this happens, all of Ganyu's fears and worries came rushing forward from the corners of her mind. Not knowing whether you're going to be all right, the soul-crushing feeling that she is going to lose you/spend the rest of her life alone, etc. Its going to take a while before she'll feels ok again or stops worrying about you.

J = Jealousy (Do they get jealous? How do they deal with it)

Ganyu doesn't get jealousy so much as she gets insecure. This feeds back into her feelings of being isolated, her "otherness", wondering if she spends too much time working and not enough time with you, etc. When this happens, Ganyu tends to get quiet, put her head down, and tries to act busy. This is further compounded by her dislike of sharing her insecurities with you unless prompted. As you relationship becomes closer however, Ganyu will become more comfortable in expressing those emotions to you, or confronting the person directly and telling them you're taken.

K = Kiss (How do they kiss you? How do they like to be kissed?)

For a person like Ganyu who is easily flustered, cheek and forehead kisses are the best; both to give and receive. They convey a lot of emotion but still remain chaste and don't tend to get as heated as kisses on the lips do. As your relationship progresses however, Ganyu will like to give very quick pecks on your lips when the two of you are alone, and in turn she likes to receive kisses on her lips and horns.

L = Love (Who says ‘I love you’ first?)

I feel like 8 times out 10 you would say it first rather than Ganyu, but I had an neat idea so I'm going to write about that instead.

Surprising, Ganyu was the first to say "I love you". For a large portion of your relationship with her, you decided to let her dictate the pace at which your relationship progressed. That way, with every step of this journey the two of you would take together, she could have time to feel comfortable with the myriad of new experiences she was enjoying with you. During one of her rare days off, (which for once she requested), Ganyu took you to one of her favorite places in all of Liyue. There, as the two of you settled in for an afternoon nap underneath the mid-day sun did Ganyu say those three words you didn't know you were going to hear so soon.

M = Memory (What’s their favorite memory together?)

Ganyu's favorite memory is during one of the visits to Cloud Retainer's domain. While not the first time she had taken you to visit the Adepti who raised her, it was the first time she realized just how well the two of you got along. Seeing two of the most important people in her life converse and understand one another made Ganyu feel as though perhaps one day both sides of her could be accepted.

N = Nickel (Do they spoil? Do they buy the person they love everything?)

After a 1000 years of working, this girl is stacked. Ganyu is the type of person who would spoil you, but only on specific occasions. She isn't the type of person who will notice you looking at something and then immediately buy it for you; unless of course its a practical purchase. You weapon needing immediate maintenance is something she would gladly pay for, you noticing some nice jewellery or a fancy watch is not. Spoiling you is pretty much reserved as a reward for celebrations or anniversaries. On those occasions however, Ganyu will have bought you far more presents then you will even know what to do with. Most will have been bought or commissioned, but there will always be at least one thing handmade present amongst the piles.

O = On Cloud Nine (What are they like when they're in love? Is it obvious for others? How do they express their feelings?)

When Ganyu is in love, she is much more cheerful and energetic. While she always handles with her responsibilities with greatest care and enthusiasm, now it seems as though there is no amount of overtime which can keep her down. As she goes about her duties, her cheeks always seem to have a little bit of red to them and small smile never seems to leave her face.

P = Pet names (What pet names do they use?)

Ganyu would keep it pretty simple with the pet names she calls you; only really using one or two. In the company of others, she would simply refer to you using your name, (as called you by a pet name with others around would absolutely make her explode with embarrassment). In private, Ganyu would probably refer to you as something classic, such as "love", "dear", or some variation of your name.

"Is there anything you would you like some help with?"

*yawn* "Would you like to take a nap together?"

"I'm free for lunch/dinner today, would you like to join me?"

R = Rainy Day (What do they like to do on a rainy day?)

While Ganyu definitely loves listening to the sound of the rain while sitting in the courtyard, unfortunately its appearances bring with it quite a bit of extra paperwork and overtime. Guilds and merchants complaining about the muddy roads, ships returning to the harbor in need of immediate repairs, etc. Thankfully though, her office inside Yujing Terrace is nice and warm, and the sound of rain falling is perfect for taking a quick nap.

S = Sad (How do they cheer themselves/S/O up?)

When were you're sad, Ganyu immediately starts by hugging you and stroking your hair. It doesn't matter how long it takes for you calm down, Ganyu will stay right there by your side. After that's done, Ganyu will calmly listen to everything you have to say while already formulating a plan on how to fix whatever it was that upset you. When Ganyu is sad, its best to simply listen to what she has to say. Don't offer advice, or a solution, just be there for her and listen. There aren't many people to whom she can simply vent to, so just listening to her problems is very therapeutic for her.

T = Talking (What do they like to talk about?)

Ganyu is more of a listener than a talker, or prefers to just sit in an comfortable silence with you. That being said, topics such as Rex Lapis, and the changes in Liyue, (both to its people and the city itself), over the centuries are always really good and interesting conversation topics for her. The dogs down by Liyue's waterfront are also another topic which Ganyu could talk about endlessly. She has personally named them all, and knows each of their favorite ways to play.

U = Understanding (How well do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?)

Ganyu understands her partner very well. There will always be a part of her which may sometimes over analyzes your words and actions, but she knows first and foremost that you would never do anything to hurt her. In turn, Ganyu is incredibly empathetic. She will never mock or ridicule your for your pain, and would do everything in her power to make sure you live as happy of a life as she can possible provide.

V = Value (How important is the relationship to them? What is it worth in comparison to other things in their life?)

Ganyu places a great deal of importance and reverence on your relationship with her. As the relationship progress and your connection to one another becomes stronger, Ganyu would come to consider both you and your relationship with her to be as important as her contract with Rex Lapis is. A contract which she has faithful abided by for over 1000 years.

W = Wedding (When, where, and how do they propose?)

Ganyu will consider proposing after you were rescued from a life or death situation. Almost losing you would get her to reevaluate a lot of things in her life. She knows being married won't magically make you safe from all potential dangers, but if anything were to happen, she wants there to be as few lingering regrets as possible.

There is only one place where Ganyu considers proposing, her childhood home: Mt. Aocang. She prepares literally everything from the food to her proposal speech, to what position the sun should be almost an entire year in advance.

X = XOXO (How affectionate are they? In public/in private)

In public, Ganyu prefers to keep affection to a bare minimum or not at all. While she enjoys the affection she receives from you, its rather embarrassing and unprofessional to participate in it when in pubic or in the company of others

In private, Ganyu is rather affectionate, especially when she become comfortable with you. She is 100% the type of person to bury their head into your chest, back, or neck and nuzzle while humming at how content she is.

Y = Yearning (How well do they cope when they're separated from their S/O?)

Ganyu's ability to cope with separation becomes worse the longer the two of you are together. While at first she is very good at being separated from you for days at a time, after a while she begins to miss you almost as soon as you leave the room. While still as diligent in her work as ever, the best part of her day is definitely coming back home to see you.

Z = Zeal (Are they willing to go to great lengths for the relationship?)

Ganyu is definitely willing to go to great lengths for your relationship to succeed; perhaps a little too far sometimes. Once you've established that connection, Ganyu would do a lot of things to maintain it. All within reason of course and never at the detriment of other, but she might do somethings to the detriment of herself. Pushing herself harder to make time for both you and work, repressing problems she is having with the relationship, etc. If you have any dignity, make sure you take care of this girl and never betray the trust she places in you.

include/s: archon quest spoilers (mondstadt-liyue quests), reader's from another world and isn't aether/lumine (the reader is basically aether/lumine but they have a different backstory and has a different way of how they travel around teyvat)

-> it started when your string led up to the sky.

-> with your abilities to travel around different worlds, you concluded that perhaps the universe set this as a journey for you to find your destined other, who could be in any world that exists.

-> however, as you try to travel to a world, you encounter a god.

-> one thing led to another, and you're suddenly in a world called teyvat with your powers being stripped off. you honestly didn't know what to do, at first. which way should you go? how do you know if the unknown god is from this world? how can you get out of here without your powers?

-> then you met your personal guide, paimon.

-> you were honestly thankful that you saved the strange companion from being killed by hilichurls. everything you didn't know about the world, paimon gladly filled information about everything she knows about this world as a gratitude for saving her life.

-> although you were thankful to have a guide like paimon, you couldn't help but be weirded out by how she can see everyone's strings.

-> with information about the seven archons who rule over the seven nations, you decided to visit every nation to confront each archon about the unknown god, hoping to find at least one intel about the god who took the most important thing that could've helped you find your soulmate away, leaving with no trace of her whereabouts.

-> your first destination was sumeru, a nation where the god of wisdom resides. after finding no signs or info on who you're after, it was easy to say that you felt disappointed. however, the god of wisdom offered you to go visit mondstadt and meet a certain scholar who may help you on finding information on the unknown god while finding the god of freedom.

-> when people said mondstadt was being in danger thanks to a dragon, you didn't think it would be this serious.

-> you were supposed to go to the knights of favonius about the scholar that could help you along with information of the god of freedom's whereabouts, but you suddenly found yourself gliding towards the dragon to try to fight against it, causing the dragon to fly away and disappear.

-> because of this, people now started calling you the honorary knight: the savior of mondstadt.

"we like to thank you again for what you did," the acting grandmaster, jean, says with a smile as she guides you towards the knights of favonius headquarters. "forgive me if i sound rude but i honestly have never met someone like you, where did you came from?"

"it's uh, a long story per say," you answered with a light laugh. "but i came here because a friend from sumeru told me that i should look for a scholar who could help me. do you know anyone who came from sumeru?"

her eyes brightens from your question. "oh yes. we have someone who studied in sumeru and is now working for the knights of favonius. i can take you there if you'd like."

you sigh in relief, thankful that you no longer have to worry about having a hard time in looking for the scholar. "yes please."

"...uhm, y/n?" paimon calls out, causing you to look at your companion in confusion. "is it normal for your string to move so.. wildly?" she asks, pointing at the red thread that's wrapped around your finger.

your eyes widens when you notice how it started moving a lot. what does this mean? is your soulmate in danger?

you look up at where your string leads to, only to see a building that isn't too far away from where you and jean are–

could your soulmate be in there?

"what.. what is that building?" you ask jean, who stops her tracks in confusion.

"it's the uh, the knights of favonius headquarters. is something wrong–?" without another word, you immediately ran off towards the building with paimon following. could it be? could your soulmate be in here for all this time?

as you arrive by the headquarters, you were immediately stopped by the two knights being stationed by the entrance.

"halt!" one of them orders, blocking your way from entering. "state your purpose here and we'll le–"

"i need to go inside! my soulmate could be in there!" you exclaim, trying to go through in frustration. "forgive us traveler, but we cannot let you in unless you have an important–"

"let them in, guards." jean interrupts, slightly panting from running. "they saved mondstadt from stormterror's wrath, it's the least we can do."

as soon as the guards immediately lets you in, you immediately gave jean a thankful look before you continue to follow where your string leads you, anxious to see if whether or not your soulmate is in the same world as you.

the moment you opened one of the doors of the headquarters, your eyes landed on a woman with purple clothing.

"oh? and who may you be?" she asks, closing the book she was reading as she turns around to your direction.

your heart drops at the sight of your red string being tied around her finger.

the woman stares at you in confusion until she notices her red string leading to your finger, causing her to gasp out in surprise.

"oh my..." she comments.

paimon watches in excitement as you and the woman stare at each other with relieved look on your faces.

-> however, you found yourself fighting an unknown god and suddenly found yourself being stranded on a world where seven gods rule over seven nations with their respective elements.

-> because of this inconvenience, you set yourself a new goal: find the unknown god and take back what's yours.

-> on your journey, you then met paimon, who you saved from drowning to death. as gratitude for saving her life, she decided to become your personal guide to teyvat, to which you're thankful for.

-> your first destination was liyue, whereas you were assumed to be the person who killed rex lapis, fought a harbinger, and fought an ancient god, and found out that rex lapis is still alive and is in disguise as a mortal name "zhongli."

-> before you departed from liyue, you had a short conversation with the tianquan, who offered you to visit mondstadt to see the acting grandmaster and the god of freedom to help them on taking down a dragon that's been keeping mondstadt in danger from its wrath.

-> which led you to where you are now, walking around windrise with paimon as you head towards where the city is.

"i heard that stormterror is actually the original dragon of the east of mondstadt's four winds. i wonder what happened to him that made him go crazy.." paimon comments as you sigh in response.

"i just hope that barbatos knows at least one info on the unknown god–"

"hey who's that person over there?" paimon interrupts, causing you stop talking for a moment, and look at where she's pointing, only to see a person below the tree in a kneeling position.

"do you think she needs our help?" you ask.

"...ehh just to be sure, let's do it."

the two of you then head towards the huge tree where one of the statue of the seven resides. you took note of how the person has a sword, causing you to stay alert.

"uh, excuse me?" you spoke up to the woman. "are you alright?"

the woman suddenly looks up at you after you called her out, suddenly making you taken back by surprise from how beautiful her eyes are. "o-oh! my apologies, i didn't mean to worry you both. i was just paying respects to vanessa.” she said with a smile as stands up from the ground.

you blink a few times before shaking your head reassuringly, not noticing how paimon's suddenly panicking from suddenly discovering something. "no need to apologize! my friend and i were just walking by and we just wanted to check and see if everything's fine–"

"i-it's you." the woman speaks up, eyes widening slowly as she stares at your hand.

you look at her in confusion. "...i'm sorry, what?"

paimon groans in frustration. "i’ve been trying to tell you this whole time, look at your hand!" she exclaims.

you immediately look at your hand that has your red string wrapped around your finger, slowly tracing to where it leads this time–

only to see the red thread wrapped around the woman's finger.

your eyes widens as well, glancing at both you and the woman's fingers in disbelief. "...oh."

What? Of course Mona didn't use her astrology powers to see how your day would go, that would be... ridiculous... ahem, she's already got open arms when you enter the home!

Her hugs are gentle, and make you feel at peace, calming your racing heart and watering eyes.

She'll kiss the top of your head/cheek/wherever she can, and squeeze you for a second. She'll hug you for as long as you need, whether it be five seconds or five hours.

You trudge through the door, head hung low and heart heavy with sorrow from the long, terrible day you had. You sniffle, trying hard not to cry. "Mona, could I have a hug?" You ask, lifting your head and seeing she's already got her arms open. You relax a bit already, walking over and falling into her embrace. "How'd you know?"

"I know everything," She states matter-of-factly, her heart sinking as you bury your face into the crook of her neck. "Well, almost everything... Do you want to talk about it?" She asked, and you shake your head, hugging her tighter.

"No," you mumble, "can we just stay here, like this, for a little longer?" Mona hums, pressing a kiss to your temple.

"Of course, my starlight." She whispers against your temple, before tightening her hug. She rubs small circles into your back, allowing you to cry if you need— it's not healthy to hold in your emotions, Mona let you know this once before, so if you need to cry she hopes you'll allow yourself to do so.

At some point you pull away, sniffling and smiling weakly. "Thank you, Mona." You take her hands and a pink hue dusts her cheeks. "Let's go to bed now," Mona agrees, following you to the bedroom. She makes sure to cuddle you the entire night, and her mind doesn't cease until she's planned out tomorrow— she plans on taking you out on a cute date.

ੈ♡‧➝ FISCHL

Fischl will frown when she notices your saddened mood, and when you ask for a hug? She'll agree instantly (a soft blush on her features as she holds you)!

Her hugs are tight, nearly breath-takingly so! She'll apologize if she notices and loosen her grip, but her hugs are still so tight, and protective, you'll definitely feel safe in her arms!

Fischl isn't sure what happened, and she won't push you to tell her, but if you want to then she'll be there to listen— she knows what it's like when people don't listen, so she's always ready to lend a listening ear!

"Fischl?" Your voice is quiet, nearly inaudible, but she hears and turns around, a giant smile at seeing you however it's quick to fade when she sees your head hanging and a troubled look on your face. "Could you... could you hug me?"

Her eyes widen, a small pink blush taking place on her cheeks. A hug? From her? She takes quick strides to where you are and hugs you tightly, wrapping her arms around you and squeezing warmly. "You seem troubled, but worry for naught, for I, Fischl, Prinzessin der Verurteilung, am but a great listener, for if thou shall need to speak of such troubles, I will lend thou an ear."

"I don't really wanna talk about it right now, is it okay if we just hug a bit longer?" She nods meekly, her grip tightening but you don't mind, it feels warm and safe, and it's not too suffocating this time! You chuckle at the thought of past hugs with Fischl, your worries slowly fading away after hugging her and remembering better times.

She smiles softly at your little laugh, although she doesn't ask what brought it upon you, instead she remains hugging you until you pull away and smile gently at her, although she can still something is troubling you, she can tell it's less so thanks to the affection. "Thank you, Fischl."

"But of course, it shan't do for me to leave you in such a state! Thou hast my fullest attention!" She puts her hand over her heart, an earnest and sincere look in her eyes. She doesn't plan on leaving your side till she knows for a fact that you're back to your usual self.

ੈ♡‧➝ HU TAO

Hu Tao won't notice that you're upset at first, in her usual playful attitude until your voice cracks as you ask for a hug, no longer able to keep up pretending to be fine.

Her hugs are so warm, and she has a hard time letting go once she's started hugging you! She won't let go until she knows you're feeling better, she can't stand someone so close to her feeling like this!

Hu Tao will try and crack jokes to also try and get your mind off of whatever is upsetting you, although how affective they are depends on your sense of humor!

Hu Tao laughed at her own joke, when she stopped, noticing you were no longer by her side. "Huh? Y/n, what are you doing?" She turned around to see you standing there, unable to meet her eyes although she could see tears glistening in yours and she felt a pang of guilt for not noticing earlier. "Ah, is everything okay?"

"Hu Tao... Can you hug m-" You don't even finish your sentence, her arms wrapped around you tightly, she nearly knocking you both over but instead twirling. You sniffle, and if you need to cry, she allows you, not saying a word as you two hug.

She'll begin cooing, pulling away and looking you in the eyes, cupping your cheeks. "What's wrong? Did something happen— should I get the funeral parlor a new customer?" You chuckle, shaking your head and wiping at your eyes.

"No, I just... it's been a long day," You mumble, deciding to tell her later what was upsetting you, knowing if you tell her now you'll only grow more upset and possibly start crying. "Can we go home? I'm a bit tired."

"Of course!" She intertwines her fingers with yours, pressing a cheeky kiss to your hand before heading towards the shared home. She keeps checking on you, and trying to tell jokes; some of them land, others not exactly, but either way, you're happy you've got the jokester with you, to help lighten your mood!

➷ I - i love you :

all the time. sometimes it’s to get herself out of trouble, sometimes it’s when she’s feeling particularly sappy, sometimes it’s when she’s sure she might die. “but i looove youuuu, don’t you love me too? come on you buzzkill, it’s not that dangerous!”

first says it in one of her quiet moments. you two are just lounging, your head in her lap as she overlooks your half-asleep form. you know she’s lost in thought by the way her eyes aren’t focused on anything, she’s just staring. “i think i love you.”

her painted nails lightly trace the sides of your face as you cast your eyes upwards to see her expression. you’re met with a closed eye laugh and a tap on the nose as she tries to take the focus off herself. “ah, don’t look at me like that! at the very least say it back, look at me dazed afterwards...”

➷ J - jealousy :

she’s scary when she needs to be, and that is especially so when she’s really jealous. if someone she doesn’t vibe with approaches, she’s attempting to use her charm off the bat. sweet-talking them, not-so-subtly intertwining your fingers together while she animates with his hands, anything she can think of. now, if they don’t take the hint, there’s almost a visual code switch within her.

“hm, you wouldn’t happen to know all that much about the afterlife, would you?” she chimes, looming around the person with a sinister smile parading on her lips. “i know all about it. say, i wouldn’t mind...” she activates her element, a small ghostly flame emitting from her palm. “showing you sometime.”

she giggles behind her hand at the way they scurry off.

any time she realizes that you don’t chastise her for her interests. her smile widens every time she remembers that you don’t think she’s weird or creepy for her career or her approach. she’s found someone who understands, or at the very least doesn’t judge, and she loves every bit of it.

➷ S - security :

now, she doesn’t even value her own safety to the highest regard, so she’s not going to reprimand you if you just so happen to do anything dangerous. the thrill comes first, so if you’re looking to jump off the top of wuwang hill all the way down into the oceanid’s lair, hell, she’s probably jumping first.

➷ V - value :

she definitely values your sense of humor. she wants someone who will joke with her, someone who’ll laugh with instead of at her. her sense of humor can be dark, so if yours is as well, she’s got a better match than originally anticipated! “you...you think i’m funny?” hu tao slowly has an incredibly lovesick grin enveloping her face as she watches you laugh. “most people — aiya, nevermind that! all that matters is that my little butterfly is laughing, yeah?”

Activities - What do they like to do with their s/o? How do they spend their free time with them?

Hu Tao is quite the prankster and eccentric person. She will try to get you two to do the  activities that she picks. She particularly likes to go to various new places to meet new people. She’s not the most social and likeable person, she doesn’t really understand why some people are scared of her, but meeting new people is super exciting for her. Date wise, I think she’d prefer to be somewhere quiet, and quite frankly, a little dark and creepy as well. If you spot any ghosts or spirits, don’t fear, she gets super excited and wants to show off. However, if the two of you don’t really feel like traveling all the way out of the city, she’s content taking you to a nice restaurant and just having fun with you.  

She has a pretty hefty and important job at the funeral parlor, so you won’t be able to spend every single moment with her, but if you do happen to take a job there then she does her best to be involved with you as much as possible. She finds the people at her job so boring and spending time with you always brings a smile to her face. To make up for the times she’s busy, she loves to just whisk you away on a date somewhere in the harbor or Wuwang Hill. 

Please plan pranks with her. She’s a little scared of asking you, but it would mean the world to her if you two planned on pretending there’s a ghost in Xiangling’s kitchen. Y’all would be the perfect prankster duo that everyone in Liyue fears. 

Comfort - How would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?

She’s not the most experienced in being very serious, but for you she absolutely is trying her hardest. It hurts her so much to see you upset and she wants nothing more than to make you feel better. I feel like she’d try to make some stupid jokes making fun of Baizhu, which never fails to make the two of you smile. She will hug you and let you vent if you need to do that as well. She’s the type to try to make you laugh so hard that you forget what you were even crying over in the first place. However, sometimes she’ll serenade you with a gruesome poem that she wrote, which is surprisingly helpful in making you feel better. 

 Kiss - Are they a good kisser? What was the first kiss like?

She’d be a little awkward in initiating affection during the beginning of your relationship, but later on she simply becomes the best. She likes to hold you close to her when you two are kissing, and, if you’re okay with it, she likes to wrap her arms around your waist and lock you into place by her side. Also loves to bombard you with kisses across your face. It’s pretty random, but you would never complain. 

I imagine that your first kiss with Hu Tao will be on a whim whilst doing something fun or going exploring. I actually don’t see her as the type to initiate the first kiss, because she’ll just be so excited to be hanging out with you that she’s too busy admiring you to go in for the kiss. As far as first kisses go, it would be a pretty good and passionate one where the two of you just enjoy each other’s presence. She loves you so much. 

Wild Card - A random Fluff Headcanon

Hu Tao is a chaotic human being and sometimes needs to be grounded by none other than Big Dong Zhong himself. One such instance was when she was doing her own thing and scaring Qiqi which ended up with Zhongli coming and speaking with her. Granted it went through one ear and out the other, but it definitely solidified their father-daughter like relationship. He was never REALLY able to control her, but he was getting really good at giving her advice and she started talking to him a little more about decisions to make. Your relationship was certainly no exception to this! 

Zhongli was the first person that Hu Tao spoke to when she thought of proposing to you. She recognizes the shortness of life and wants to spend every moment of hers with you. Zhongli was very helpful in picking out a moment for her to pop the question and helped set up the surprise. He will definitely be officiating that wedding and crying the whole time.
