On the topic of writing:

There's nothing about it that's easier than art, or memes. It is absolutely valid, and impressive to have that as a hobby. Although it is true that less people will take the time to read, and appreaciate your work - the ones who will, will return again and again. They'll give you inspiration, compliments, and suggestions. Writing dosent get a lot of appreaciation, but the bits it doess are priceless.

Take this from someone who writes: if you aren't writing for yourself and for improvement, it might never get the attention you want it to.

If you are writing for yourself and improvement, it might never get the attention of deserves, but it'll feel so fucking good getting the bits it does.

So keep on going, you funky little authors!

I feel like we still don't talk enough about JJ's video

First of all, if looks fucking incredible

It's unbelivably well edited and not over/under acted

All the subtle, very VERY well placed and times details make for a cinema screen worthy expierence.

JJ's Jolly Jaunts is fucking amazing, needs to be talked about more, and vastly underappreciated. You can't change my mind.

As an older member in the community - I've learned some things that have made my expierence here much more enjoyable:

Of course, not everyone agrees with what I'm going to say, you're absolutely entitled to your own educated opinion - but if you're looking for advice, here's some things I've learned:

Don't put anyone on a pedestal. Not your favorite artist, not your favorite writer, not your mutuals, and not Jack. They are literally people like you and I, and that's awesome that they're like us! Appreaciation is of course always welcome, but if you begin to constantly compare their success against yours in a negative way, or if you start believing that they can do no wrong: it will make it feel like you're never going to be as good, and it can give them imposter syndrome.

"tea" blogs are always going to be around in a big community. If you're not interested / offended by what they say: ignore them, block them, don't interact with them. They're not going to care if you do. While you / we might not agree with anything they say and may even hate everything they stand for, they have a right to have a blog and to share their thoughts. On the other hand, if they're attacking someone / one, that's absolutely not okay. If you're respectful, and calm by talking to them, things will be better for all parties.

PMA is fucking fantastic if it's utalized in the right way. It's not a cure. It never has been, and never will be. It's something to help remind you about positivity during your shit times. Don't force it on yourself or anyone else. That'll completly contradict what it's meant to do.

You're always worth more than you think - don't confuse that with you're better than people.

Be conscious of what you post. Make sure youre really saying what you're meaning to say. Communicating online is harder than it seems. Try reading everything a second time.

You truly aren't alone. Someone has always expierenced / felt what you're feeling.

Everyone will make mistakes. Don't let mistakes that have been worked to be fixed taint your opinion on someone who truly does great things, but has said / done the wrong thing on accident.

People care about your well-being.

And most of all;

Your talents, and thoughts will be appreciated.

Jack mentioned today that he thought of killing himself once, and that's the scariest shit ever to cross your mind. I'm sure everyone has had some sort of an idea of what would happen, but when you actually entertain the idea and get into details of it, it's fucking horrifying.

I had / sometimes even have those thoughts.

That's when I got help.

I should have much sooner.

If the thought LITERALLY even crosses your mind, tell someone. They'll have advice. They'll help you get help. They may have had similar thoughts and can tell you how they got through it.

You're in charge of your own voice.

You're worth having it heard.

We love a genuine guy!

Something's to remember, and things I personally think of as times get tough:

Constructive Crisitism is not, and will never equal hate.

If you're not looking for discourse - don't post it.

If you are looking for it - expect responses.

You're smart enough to have your own opinion, but don't let yourself become closed minded.

Don't pick apart every single thing.

Don't ignore obvious problems.

Don't be afraid to speak out.

You'll always be the bigger person if you handle a situation camly.

Communication is key. Don't ignore it.

Don't be afraid to take a break, really assess what you're here for and if being there is doing nothing but helping you.

You are still important to the community.

You have no obligation / responsibilities / to any community.

And don't give up too easily.

Fanfiction is as important as art.

Fanfiction is not more important than art.

Fanfiction is not less important than art.

Fanfiction shouldn't be looked down upon (well, take it with a grain of salt).

Fanfiction deserves to be consumed as well as art.

Fanfiction is important.

Fanfiction inspires communities.

Fanfiction isn't going away.

Appreaciate what it can do for a community. It isnt just a scroll past thing. It takes dedication, time, research and so much fucking talent.

I love Fanfiction. It's brought together this community. It brought me to this community. Its too good to be ignored.
