He smiled at you with his lopsided smile, the very same one that charmed you to loving him— the deep dimples on either side of his cheeks that only got deeper whenever he laughed or smiled a little too hard. The same deep brown with a tinge of auburn hair, messily tied back with a barely kept together hairband you gave him eons ago- that tickled your face whenever you hugged or slept together in the same bed to enjoy each others company. The same rough but delicate and diligent hands that held you whenever you cried out of somber, or even just pure delight- that congratulated you or emphasized with you no matter what. The same skinny, a little frail, pale skinned boy you fell in love with oh so long ago- that never failed to hurt you intentionally; keep you safe like a experiment that could never be recreated.

He took care of you all this time, remembering every detail about you to make you feel loved and special- writing down every detail in a journal he claimed helped him remember due to his incident from his past... That you didn't hear much about, but assumed that he'd open up to you after a couple years.. Yet he didn't. It made you suspicious, but was taken care of when he explained the slight trauma of arguments and used that to his advantage. He made breakfast every morning for you, slipping in chemicals to see how they would alter your mind chemistry- being the perfect lab rat. You always told him whenever you got a headache, blurry spots in your eyes, or other things of that nature- even when his small dosages of homemade aphrodisiac caused a small.. problem for you.

He took every little thing in account for you, listing down every meal you ate and drank- stalking you with a pair of binoculars and watching from afar. If you were at a cafe, after you left- he'd ask and describe what you ate to see the ingredients to make sure they didn't interfere with his work. He marked down everything, intending on keeping you around forever as his lab rat until he himself died...

He took everything in account except his own self feelings. He didn't really know why he wanted you to be his own little human test subject... Just that everything about you was so perfectly... constant. You never changed your hair, didn't try anything too new- and when you did; you always asked him for his advice first. He loved the way he counted your every heartbeat when you laid on him, letting him card his fingers through the ends of your hair- even if they got a bit tangled; careful to not tug on any knots. Seeing the smile on your face at the favorite of your foods he cooked every day, the same thing every week unless you asked him to- grinning ear to ear and happily eating his homecooked food with other components.

So the day you died, he didn't understand. He did everything correctly, looked over every bit of his journal and schedule- nothing could've called for the sudden stop of your heart. The nurses and doctors said they did everything to help, but he didn't believe it. He kept you healthy as if you were his pet, the house littered half with his "research" about you- some crumpled from his mourning grip on them late at night. You were the reason he stopped. He couldn't take the loss in his own field, to his best work.. You. He couldn't stand seeing the hallucinations of you coming down the stairs in his white blouse that he wore to his graduation, before disappearing when we placed a plate in front of you. He lived like this for so long, before he couldn't take it anymore.

How do you think norton and a shy s/o would become friends in the first place? Or start talking in general? (if this counts as a request ignore me pls🙏)

I think it would partially depend on what the setting is! Ironically, I think a modern Norton would be the hardest to get close to. He's a loner, defensive and self-reliant. There's much less reason for any kind of forced cooperation.

In the manor setting I use, a certain level of cooperation and understanding between survivors is necessary. You HAVE to understand each other's communication styles. It helps that Norton's introverted ness gives him perspective into what other people see as "shy." Like he gets not wanting to talk, and that makes it easier for him to say "alright let's get this over with" and approach you to build a base-line rapport. And after that it just builds slowly! There are plenty of opportunities when you're stuck in timeless not-hell.

In a modern setting, you'd have to either work together or have some REALLY specific, like rom-com level divide intervention stuff going on. Work is similar to the manor, you HAVE to communicate and that forces him to get to know you. With the other one...idk I guess fate and soulmates exist LOL

a howl and thunk of a ball crashing against the hip of Fools Gold brings you back to reality, especially when you're dropped and a head of fluffy black hair rounds the corner.

he's yelling words you can't understand, blood and your own heartbeat clogging the ability to hear, but you get the gist when he slams another ball into the hunter and mouths 'GO'.

a shiny portal stands a bit away, ganji trying to guide you and simultaneously protect you towards it. the opportunity arises when william, the forward, crashes into Fools Gold, communicating something towards ganji, whose hand situates itself by your hip, trying his best to tug you along.

he tries and fails to say something again before, seemingly letting out a curse; his dirty gloves are quick to grasp the sides of your face, crashing his chapped lips against your bloody ones.

before you can even utter a word, he shoves you through the portal, fiona priming the cipher on the other side before she let's go to heal you.

the exhaustion subsides while she helps you back up, whispering a command to head to the door in preparation for the pop; which you follow obediently.

in the end, it comes to a tie, you and william getting downed, trying to open the back gate, launching back to the manor with tired smiles and blood-soaked skin.

when awakened, you realize ganji sits besides your bed in your room, his now gloveless hand holding yours.

he only moves when you give his hand a squeeze and croak out a greeting. "save your strength." he grunts back, thumbing the now clean skin of your hand.

though you only respond by dragging his hand up to your lips, pressing a light kiss to the inner wrist; smiling at his cheeks growing pink.

"what was that for?" he grumbles but doesn't pull away, instead bring both his own hands to grasp yours, returning the favor by shyly peppering his own kisses along your skin.

"you started it. just wanted to get the shared feeling across." you hum, quietly giggling at his puppy faced look.

"thank you for protecting me, ganji."

Andrew, Matthias, and Weepy With A Shy/Anxious Reader (Platonic)

Ofcc thank you for the request! I'll definitely make a part two with the other characters! i just wanted to make sure I got your request out in a short time!

Andrew Kreiss

-I feel like Andrew would do better with a shy friend. He likes being able to relate to them.

-But, if their anxious about something, Andrew will try to help them calm down. He'll try his best, using things that help him calm down.

-If anyone tries to make fun of them for their shy nature, Andrew isn't scared to stick up for them. He may have a generally shy deminer, but he can be mean when he wants to.

-In social settings, if they get overwhelmed, he takes them out of the situation.

-If their still kind of quiet even after he gets to know them, he's fine, just sitting in silence and enjoying his time with them.

-However, if they do get more talkative when he gets to know them, he loves listening to them talk for hours.

Matthias Czernin

-Matthias finds that he does better around other shy people.

-I feel like Matthias also gets anxious and quite easily at that. So he prefers someone not as loud.

-Matthias isn't very good at calming himself down, let alone someone else, so he can't help much during a panic attack.

-When they get closer to Matthias, he loves to talk about and show off his puppets.

-He tries to keep Louis away from them. He doesn't want him around since he is scared of him ruining his friendships.

-If their getting made fun of, Matthias won't really know what to do. I don't think he'll say anything, but their definitely not getting saved in matches now.

-Matthias will avoid most big social gatherings in general, so he'll 100% skip anything with them.

Weepy

-Weepy finds their shyness cute. He's just happy they want to be friends with him he doesn't care if their shy or not.

-If they have a panic attack, he doesn't really know what to do, but he'll try his best.

-Weepy loves listening to anything they have to say. He also loves talking If their not talkative.

-Weepy loves trying to make them laugh.

-If their getting made fun of, Weepy will comfort them, but he probably won't say anything directly. He'll also send them towards the hunter with his rocket.

-Weepy is quite anxious himself, so he relates to how they feel.
