Setting: A crowded beachside pier overlooking Orange Ocean at sunset, the water shimmering, the tropical scenery and sky awash in warm tones from gold to orange to pink, the curlicue clouds arcing overhead in swirls of sun-kissed lavender.

Panel 1: Various characters meander about the pier and beach. A young Poppy Bros. Sr. snoozes atop a palm tree. A young Lalala strolls by with with a blue parasol. In another palm tree, a pair of bullies - Ace (dark-blue skin, red ponytail, sporting a leather jacket and a toothy pink bandana over her face) and Fringe (teal skin, gold eyes, sporting a backwards green baseball cap and a purple sports tank) - hang from the trunk, laughing and flinging coconuts at unsuspecting passersby. Below them on the beach, a young Pon stumbles as he gets bonked on the head by one.

In the foreground, Para Dee and Bow Dee are getting ice cream at a stand, the latter (pimply-faced and lacking the bow part of their headband) gazing up excitedly as the vender hands them a (very) sour apple ice pop, the former (wearing a sunflower sunhat and a pastel bowtie) sitting with a plate of mochi ice cream as he waves to their other friends behind them. DDD (acne-riddled and sporting red swim trunks, a orange-print tank top, and star-shaped sunglasses) waves back over his shoulder, holding a strawberry ice pop as he follows Meta under a garland of string lights farther down the pier. Meta faces away from us, his wings almost full-grown and just starting to get their talons, a green sun visor on his head and (unseen) a chocolate fudge pop in his gloved hand.

Panel 2: Overhead shot of the boys sitting at the end of the pier, chatting away as they munch on their ice cream, DDD leaning over to dip a foot into the sparkling orange-gold waters below.

Panel 3: A shot of Meta from DDD’s perspective beside him, the winged boy lifting up a pair of round sunglasses from his eyes and laughing, a pointed tooth visible in his open smile, bits of chocolate on his face and dripping onto the pier from the half-eaten ice cream in his hand. The sunset highlights him, catching off his glasses, visor, and the points of his tiny talons in sparkles.

Panel 4: Reverse-shot of DDD (sunglasses pushed up to his forehead) leaning back on one hand and gazing at his friend with a dreamy smile, his own half-eaten ice cream held up in his free hand, a thought bubble over his head with a pink heart inside.

Panel 5: Same as the previous panel but narrower, DDD’s expression now shifted into one of squinty-eyed confusion as he glances away in deep thought, his ice cream starting to melt over his hand. The thought bubble now reads, “… ❤️ ?”

Panel 6: Same as the previous panel but bigger and centered, DDD’s form breaking the panel at points. Realization washes over the young penguin, his eyes wide and his pupils shrunk to pinpricks, a fierce blush covering his face as he starts to sweat profusely, his ice cream long forgotten and melting down his hand and onto his shirt. The thought bubble has turned spiky, shocked, reading, “? ❤️ ? !” In the empty space around the panel, low-opacity “mental DDDs” flail about in various states of distress, clutching their heads, crying out to the heavens, fallen to their knees, watching sand fall through their fists, and floating listlessly through the void.

I never really understood where a lot of the fan interpretations of the SOSs came from, since they never seemed to line up with what I was hearing in the in-game audio. Hope all y'all fan writers and theorists find this useful!

What if Age of Imprisonment happens in the Age of Calamity continuity? (I can dream, ok?)

(Also I know 10,000 years is enough time that they're almost certainly related anyway, but this is funnier.)
