“I didn’t know what had been going on between them. It could have been some small comment that sparked things off. Liam spent the evening in the bar with endless vodka and oranges. The MTV awards were being held that evening and there were loads of people arriving — a distraction we didn’t need. We arranged to meet at Noel’s room and when Liam didn’t show up, my heart sank. He said he’d do the photo session as long as it wasn’t in Noel’s room, so we got in the bus and he took his drink with him. We stopped off at this bridge and the first thing Liam did was hurl his glass at the side of the bridge. Noel was furious, but I took him aside and said ‘Look, it doesn’t matter. As long as you stand there, I’ll catch him in the frame.’

But Noel was so pissed off, and you can see it in these photos. He is literally gritting his teeth. The body language is incredible. It was awful. You can almost hear the air crackle.”

Noel was also reportedly complaining furiously about French people on bicycles and then had returned to pose, which are these photos.

I've been thinking about the time Noel did that interview where he said, "Liam is in love with me," and it still blows my mind how he got away with saying that without so much as an arched eyebrow from the media or general public.

My guy, there is a MASSIVE difference between saying your brother LOVES you and is IN LOVE with you. Like, Grand Canyon sized difference.

Everyone hopes their siblings love them, even just a little bit. But being in love with someone has completely different implications altogether. Being in love with someone suggests a level of romantic desire and/or sexual desire, which is not something one would usually attribute to their baby brother... unless, of course, they knew for certain that it was correct because it had been acted upon or voiced out loud before.

Which leads to the other crazy part about that statement - "he hates that he's in love with me."

If the in love bit was a sucker punch, then that last line is an upper cut and knockout. NOEL DO YOU HEAR THE WORDS THAT ARE COMING OUT OF YOUR MOUTH??!

And once again, no one thought to go, whoa hold on a quick second. They just rolled with it and said, yeah sure makes sense.

Why. Why didn't someone pursue that line. Why didn't anyone have the balls to say, how do you know he's in love with you? Or better yet, Why are you projecting your feelings onto your little brother?

Because that statement of "he hates that he's in love with me" couldn't be further from the truth. If we all know anything about Liam, it's that he, no matter at what point their fued was at, he was never shy to admit how much he loved Noel or how fond of his brother he was.

And here's Noel - bitter, angry and yet, still incapable of letting go of the one thing he's so bitter and angry about - his little brother. Here's Noel with his happy Stepford life: his beautiful (if slightly crazy) wife, his 2.5 kids, the dog, the white picket fence - the dream life. But no matter how well he's doing or how happy he seems, he still can't get over that last hill:

He's in love with his brother. And he hates that he's in love with him.

Hi there! It’s been a long time, huh? Anyway: welcome to the new post of Gallaghercest: a lyric analysis of Lock All The Doors — the first one. Because Noel had the boldness of not being satisfied with just one version, so he did three.

Today I’ll do a lyric analysis, and this time I’ll do it in the way I normally do: I’ll go paragraph by paragraph, line by line, and it will be an analysis focused on the meaning of the lyrics. I made this analysis originally in a conversation with María, and I’m going to show it to you now, guys, and I hope you enjoy it!

Disclaimer: this is a theory made by myself, based in conversations I had with my friends and months of analysis, suffering, nights of insomnia and tears. Don’t know if everything is veridical, but at least, it’s a way that I found to “light” up our way and try to find some proper fucking answers to this stuff.
