Also, finished TSOA today (18/4/23) and The Invisible life of Addie LaRue on 24/4/23 and absolutely fucking bawled, so I decided to add it to this tbr list to honour it :'), not to mention that I actually had planned to read it for a long time, just didn't include it in this list 😭)
( read in 2022 - 🦄, currently reading - 🌷, read in 2023 - 🫀)
I'll be marking off the books when I finish reading them/ I'll be adding more books when I find myself wanting to read them!

In other words:
The things you hide in your heart, eats you alive.
جمال احسانی نے اپنی کتاب کے دیباچے میں لکھا تھا کہ
Jamal Ehsani had written in his book's book that
" کہ میں نے اپنے ماں باپ کو ایک سکھ جو دیا وہ یہ ہے کہ میں انکی زندگی میں فوت نہیں ہوا"
"That I gave one relaxation to my parents is that I did not die in their lifetime"
you mention one (1) time that you're craving some dish and the next day he'll bring a special dabba with it for you
always carries extra hair ties for female friends
has extra money in case someone forgot their lunch
always makes sure you wash your hands or atleast sanitise before you eat
knows first aid
SMOKING HOT
lets you sleep on his shoulder during class or in the bus if you're tired
asks you if you want a hug if he sees you looking sad- best hugs ever
makes sure your notebook is completed by offering his own notes

mention one of your interests and he'll listen to you infodump for hours. literally. hours. (he listened to me overanalyse tangled for four hours straight, from 2 am to 6 am)
DID I MENTION HOT ASF

WOWOWOOWOWOWOWW
when i first saw the trailer for it i was so excited. this def lived up to my expectations.
i learned that i really dont know anything about desi cinema (lol) and i have alot of catching up to do on the old classics which i till now classified as outdated and stuffy and patriarchal. but seeing the artistry in the clips made me really want to go back and watch everything.
i also learned alot about the sociopolitical and economic context to alot of the movies and how it played into their success or lack thereof, which was really fascinating.
i do wish they delved more into how alot of people seem to agree that the industry has fallen off a little bit? i really cant explain it.. maybe im overly biased to the 2000s because those are primarily the movies i watched growing up. but still. i just feel it in my bones sometimes when i watch a good number of desi movies post-2010.
seeing rishi kapoor in the interviews :,) sad (also i wish they couldve gotten preity zinta and aishwariya to do interviews but oh well. i also wonder what sridevi wouldve said in her interview if she still was alive since they were mentioning her alot)
all in all, 100/10, i without a doubt will be rewatching just as much as i rewatch my favorite video essays on yt, if not more often. just amazing.
