That’s all the indication Kazuki needed to know what’s happening. What’s going to happen. He tentatively raised his arms, looking at the wall as if he could see what, or who was behind the wall.

He was there in the times of sorrow. As cold as he was back then, he didn’t leave. He stayed. He didn’t leave. That’s way more than what everyone did, and for that, Kazuki’s grateful.

Grateful that he stayed with him despite everything. Despite all the rules that he forced on him, all the critiquing of the other’s lifestyle, all the stupid decisions fuelled by his gambling addiction.

Sure, Kazuki only thought the other stuck around because of his cooking. Because he cleans the house and takes care of the laundry, but he likes to think that they’re closer now. That he cares now, not just about Kazuki, but about Miri too. That hopefully, with Kazuki out of the picture, he’s going to continue taking care of their little girl.

But Rei has always been hard to read, just like cats. maybe Rei will be fine. After all, they knew this was going to happen one way or another.

Miri isn’t going to like this. She may think that her papa left her like her mom, but she’s still too young. She forgot about her mom pretty quickly, so maybe she’ll forget about him too. Maybe, hopefully, he’ll only be a distant memory for her, so she wouldn’t have to bear the pain of losing someone

He regrets coming here today. He regrets not being prepared enough, that he didn’t put a better plan, didn’t prepare better for the mission, that he agreed on the mission in the first place.

But most of all, he regrets what going to happen next. How he’s going to leave his best friend, his partner, and his baby girl like that.

“Take care of Miri for me, will ya?” His smile was bittersweet, but he smiled nonetheless.

At least he got the time to say his last words.

A loud bang resonated around the warehouse, and everything went black.

“Take care of Miri for me, will ya?” That’s all the indication Rei needed to know what’s going to happen.

He knew this was a bad idea. He knew that this was going to happen someday, but no matter how many times he told Kazuki he just never listens

‘This is the best way to do it’ he says. ‘You can’t act, so I have to do this’ he argued. ‘Careful, now. If I didn’t know better, I’d say that you care’ he teases as if it isn’t so painfully obvious that Rei cares.

Because of course he cares! How can he not when Kazuki’s the only one who didn’t mind living with Rei’s everything. That no matter how many times Rei attacked him when he was startled, he still approached him. That no matter how cold Rei was, he still talked to him. That no matter how much of a blunt, uncooperative, untrusting asshole he was, Kazuki still spent time with him.

He allowed Rei to stay with him. He didn’t care how messy Rei was, how he never helped around the house and always slept in the tub forcing Kazuki to stop showering in the mornings. How Rei never even thanked Kazuki for cooking him food, and yet he continued to do so. He continued to care for the house while all Rei did was play his video games. He continued to do these chores after Miri came into their lives, making them a lot harder.

Rei cared about Kazuki more than he cared about anything else.

Rei starts to move because how dare he try leave Rei after he infected him with these feelings. How dare he try to leave Miri like that after both her parents abandoned her. How dare he leave Rei to be the one to tell her how she’d never see her papa again.

He should be here to get exasperated at the amount games and plushies Rei bought, and the colors Miri painted on the walls. He should be here feeling joy at Miri’s happiness whenever she eats his food and done with Rei’s pickiness. He should stand beside Rei crying as Miri entered her first day of school and as she grew up to graduate and live the life he always wanted and be happy with them as they grew old enough to retire this life-

But before Rei could even take one step towards the warehouse, a loud bang resonated from there, echoing through their earpiece. All Rei saw at that moment was red.

He’s going to make sure who pulled that trigger regrets it deeply.

Childhood

These two practically grew up together as the Super Sons. They are each other's closest companions. Jon was the only person that stuck by Damian when no one else did. Even when Damian was about to kill KG Beast, Jon never turned against him. He was the only person that truly reached out to him just to make sure Damian was okay.

After this incident, Jon left the Legion of Super Heroes, hinting at the possibility that he sacrificed his membership for his friend. It could be for other reasons, but considering Saturn Girl kicked Damian out upon his arrival, I'd like to believe the Legion wasn't too fond of him.

2. "I know the sound of your heartbeat"

Even in the very comic where Jon Kent starts dating Jay, it's clear which boy he's much closer with. How can you not see sparks? These two were clearly made for each other both heart and soul!

3. Babysitting Lizzie

These two practically co-parent Lizzie Prince, the daughter of Wonder Woman in Tom King's run, from when she's five until she became the next Wonder Woman. They are still just as close and never change by the time Damian becomes Batman.

4. Even in Other Worlds

When Jon visits the Injustice Earth, he never gives up on Damian. No matter how evil Damian may become, Jon will always see the good in him. There is such a deep understanding these two have for each other.

5. The Promise

The one promise they made was to always protect each other. Damian was so genuine in that promise that he took off his mask. He hardly ever does this, even when making promises. It's clear Damian cares so much for Jon that he will abandon the Teen Titans to protect him.

Even going back to "I know the sound of your heartbeat," Jon said this when Damian was off the grid. This means Jon was the only nonparticipant of the Lazarus Tournament who knew where Damian was when he was off the grid. He's also the only person Damian has ever visited while off-grid, being that is when the Super Sons Special takes place.

what are your ava/avm hcs

Mine are probably very common, but I’d love to share

Also I hope you don’t mind if I add what pronouns I use for them.

Orange (He/They)

- Ever since they’ve unlocked their ability, their naps have become much longer, sometimes ranging to an hour or two then their usual power naps.

- Has a slight connection with Victim in a way, but cannot interact with them.

- Their ability is slowly eating away their mind, meaning in time, they won’t be able to control themselves and could possibly end up like younger Chosen

- Doesn’t know their created name is “The Second Coming” as Alan never told them their real name. So they just believe “Orange” was their created name.

- Their friends are like an energy source to him. Without them, they can spring out of control or resort to distressed behavior. Although he can be without them alone for long periods of time, it’s only when they assume or have a sense that their friends in danger.

Green (He/Him)

- Although he’s practically great at everything, he is very self conscious about it, wanting to find something he isn’t good at.

- For some reason, he has this strong magical connection towards Orange. Although he doesn’t have powers himself, it’s as if the energy source for that power comes from him.

- Whenever he isn’t around Orange (or vice versa) he’s nutritious for having little breakdowns. He feels like he can’t do anything without Orange by his side, and because of that, his ability to fight or defend himself lowers.

Red (He/They)

- Red became vegan as they have a strong love towards animals.

- He is a lot stronger than he looks, suppressing a lot of his abilities to fight in order not to harm his friends after the discovery incident.

- He is quite the chef, being the one that cooks for the sticks much more often since his cooking is ✨incredible✨

Blue (He/Him)

- Besides the whole “Alcoholic” and “Drug Addict” nature from him, he’s like one of those funny uncles from T.V shows.

(I literally don’t have like- any HC for Blue LMAO)

Yellow (He/She/They)

- Definition of a dumbass in a scientist body.

- Professional prankster. April is a day where no one is spared from their antics

- Yellow is by far the most intelligent out of all the sticks, as he is capable of learning many different softwares in the matter of seconds.

- He sometimes feels excluded from the group. Although they love him deep inside, he can’t help the feeling that they’d be better off without him.

Purple (He/They/She)

- They’ve always hated themselves. Mimicking actions of those around him as to be liked and wanted from others

- It’s not known on where they came from, however a little birdie once said he used to live on a stick figure site before it was blown up and destroyed by two powerful deities.

- Purple doesn’t know how to fight. Only picking up moves here and there, however their fighting skills are very weak.

- They actually quite enjoy redstone and technology. Finding it as a coping mechanism when they’re distressed.

Chosen (He/Him)

- Chosen suppressed his abilities after Dark was defeated. He didn’t want to cause anymore destruction after everything and just wants to reform to a better person.

- Along with suppressing his abilities, ever since Orange unlocked their power, His powers have been slowly weakening and disappearing over time.

- He is biologically related to Orange, and sees him as younger sibling, although it’s not exactly clear on how they’re related.

Dark (He/Him)

- Attachment issues

- He was doomed from the beginning. No matter what kind of fate was in store for him, he was destined to fall.

- He ended up becoming partially blind in one eye, due to derby from Alan’s old PC breaking and cracking. He covers it up, as although he can still see from that eye, he doesn’t find the point in it.

- It’s unknown whether or not he’s related towards Orange in any way.

Victim (He/They)

- Watches over Orange through the screens

- They’re forever trapped in the void of deleted entities and creations, being the only living thing left in the dark abyss out of pure a miracle.

- Their body is covered in static, as the void couldn’t completely take over them. However, it is slowly eating away their body and will soon mold them into something that wouldn’t be seen as a stick figure anymore.

- Has a connection towards Orange in a way. They’re able to watch their every move, yet has no way to physically contact them.

- It’s unknown whether or not Orange and Chosen are related to them. However, Victim likes to believe they are in hopes he can return one day to his “family”

- They will forever hold hold a grudge against Alan. The first chance they get, they’ll make his life a living hell for what he’s done to them.

(I don’t have any for Mango Tango, mainly because I’d like to observe more of him before I come to any ideas)
