Happy Granadaversary!

Forty-one years ago today, the Granada adaptation of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes began with A Scandal In Bohemia, and a legend was born.

Irene Adler sits at a table in a club, dressed in a man's suit and top hat. She drinks champagne and smiles at someone offscreen.
Sherlock Holmes fumbles with a pile of papers before stuffing them behind the chair Watson is sitting in, then trying to act casual.
Dr Watson starts up the stairs at 221b. Holmes catches up to him and briefly lays his hand on Watson's where it rests on the bannister.
The King of Bohemia offers his hand for Holmes to shake. Holmes refuses him and leaves the room. Watson watches the exchange.
