another day, another new outlandish Amphibia theory

The shot of Darcy at the end of the s3 intro plus Matt’s art made me wonder why 8 of Darcy’s eyes were a dim red instead of bright orange like we see in Olivia & Yunan.

I’m calling it: all ten of Darcy’s eyes glow when The Core is in control, but only the main two do when Marcy is.

So I’m a big evil Marcy manisfest-er… and when I say “evil Marcy” I don’t mean The Core forcing Marcy’s body into doing evil deeds. No no no I want evil Marcy. I want The Core to convince Marcy to join the dark side willingly. Not even by blackmailing her or threatening her friends, just by having a little pep talk. It might not even need to lie to her tbh.

But, it’d take more than a few seconds to have that talk, so The Core may need to take the wheel for a bit until Marcy’s ready. So at first Darcy would have all ten eyes glowing (like in Olivia & Yunan), but soon enough only two eyes would be orange, the rest being a dim red (like towards the end of the s3 intro).

As far as proof for why I believe in evil Marcy… why would an ancient entity made up of like 8 dead geniuses name itself “Darcy”?!? Like it literally just took its new host’s name and added a “D” to make it sound kinda like “dark” XD. That’s not something The Core would do, that’s something Marcy would do. Our favorite RPG nerd would be all for having a big red cape and a name straight out of a video game lmao.

The Core was formed by Amphibia's greatest minds. As Andrias so proudly stated his ancestors were glorious conquerors. Meaning they most likely wanted a type of let's say super computer to help them conquer world's, something that always thinks ahead and strategies. These great minds probably volunteered and the only thing they've ever known is we'll conquering. Then this being comes to life with it on it's mind and is secured in a basement surrounded by others who only know conqeroring and a newt who craves revenge for 1,000 years. However, Marcy has just joined the party a being who knows more then just world domination.

This theory sorta plays into the while trying to debunk the prophecy Andrias unknowingly fuels it. Plus the theory that Anne and Marcy got switched, perhaps Anne was suppose to be wit and Marcy heart considering the first temples line "keeper of the box." Meaning that while giving his robo lord a host Andrias also gave it a heart. Which could spell doom for Andrias plans.

Not sure how well this theory holds up especially considering that the Core is looking to be the big bad, but this show loves to throw curve balls. For all we know Core is a red herring and Mother of Olms is the bad guy(I still want Andrias taken down). We'll just have to wait and see hopefully not too long.

But it's just a theory, a Amphibia theory!

So we know Marcy's possesed or wintersoidered and then there's corruptianne theory which could be possible. After all her powers seem to brought out of anger/rage also make her go feral.

Some people have pointed out that the colors of these two herons being green and blue could be foreshadowing. And heron imagery/symbolism is used often

Sasha has two swords with herons that might be something.

So like what if in a paralleling turn of events the now corrupt Anne and still possesed Marcy invade Wartwood. Sorta like these herons did.

And like that night where Spring and Polly's parents were killed this time another Planter is taken.

Hop Pop! Dun, Dun, Dun

Will this happen most likely not, but hey it's just a very lose theory. Maybe a good fanfic idea though!

OH MY GOD!

HOLY SHIT! It's happening, I'm both excited and terrified

Okay this can possibly go two ways, one possesed Marcy succefully takes Anne's powers somehow. Or two Anne sacrifices her powers to save Marcy.

Cause from the intro we know the Earth invasion happens.

No matter what though S3 gonna be lit!!

Some people have already theorized this shout out to them, so I'm gonna through my hat in the ring.

I gonna predict that this scene

Takes place after Andrias sends this robot after Anne. Of course Anne beats the robot so Andrias is like "hmm how am I gonna get her gem power? Oh I know I'll send her friend to do it for me"

So he let's Yunnan and Olivia rescue Marcy.

Now Marcy is still herself not a spy or brainwashed, However this tech chest plate is possibly where the Night resides. And it's able to take control of Marcy whenever it wants to.

It'll make for some interesting conflict because Anne might need to choose between freeing Marcy and the world being taken over. If that chest plate is the only thing keeping her alive.

Either way I am pumped for Season 3!!!

To add a little fuel to the Hop-Pop may die theory.

Grime who is Sasha's toad dad at this point saves her at the end of S1.

Andrias(bitch ass) who was possibly a father figure to Marcy literally back stabed her at the end of S2.

So thats two father figures evolved with saving/ending their charges lives. So applying that to the rule of three.

Hop-Pop who is essentially Anne's grand father might sacrifice himself for her or be envoled with saving her life at the end of S3. Something like that.

Hopefully some of this makes sense

Theory time

Okay so I've been seeing a lot of theories about how humans have been to Amphibia before. Also the time loop theory. So here's something I've been thinking. We all know the basement crypt from Sleepover To End All Sleepovers.

So what exactly are in all these coffins?

Now they could all be filled with amphibian skeletons given here in this pic. Possibly Andrias ancestors. However they do seem to really focus on this room. And it might not be just because those ghost/aliens things were in there. So what if come S3 one of the girls travels down there and accidentally opens one and out pops a HUMAN SKELETON! Why human skeletons though? Well if its a time loop reason it could be the skeletons of prophecy holders from before.

Which would be creepy. Or it could just be skeletons from former living humans.

Does this theory make a whole lot of sense? Probably not. Will it most likely not be true? Possibly. But either way I'm interested to see if this room or the entire basement as a whole comes into play later.

And the Skipman they never really followed up on that did they

After finally watching Amphibia I have so many thoughts, not on how each girl embodies the characteristic of their respective gem (mind, heart, strength), but how each has another characteristic as their secondary strength, and the third as their greatest weakness.

As related to the image above, it's pretty well established that:

> Heart = Anne

> Mind = Marcy

> Strength = Sasha

But their characters aren't so one-dimensional that they simply fit those archetypes. After all, each character has been amazingly well fleshed out and have complex issues of morality and beliefs that they cannot be shoehorned. I know this will get long so I'll put it under the cut.

For example, Anne is known as the Heart by virtue of being able to empathise with almost anyone; her connections with others are shown to be her greatest strength throughout the show. However, it is easy to see that her greatest weakness is Mind. Not just from an intellectual point of view as the show already delved into in contrast to Marcy, but also her ability for manipulation and long-plan conception of consequences or even planning. Any of her 'calculating' attempts at manipulating her way out of situations only succeed in instances where she understands the other person, like with the Plantar family, but fall wayside with strangers because she has yet to understand their heart.

However, Anne's been shown to be incredibly athletic and stubborn to a fault, indicating that Strength is her secondary characteristic in relation to the Calamity Box.

By understanding this, we can see that Sasha's frankly overpowering physical strength and perseverance is supported by her calculating Mind. Without her raw social intellect, Sasha would never be able to subjugate others like she so successfully does within the show. Unfortunately, her inability to empathise and understand the emotional consequences of her actions have also been explored, indicating her failings at Heart.

Lastly, Marcy is incredibly intellectually intelligent and quick to understand and learn from her mistakes, making her the easiest to place as her characteristic, which is Mind. She is also shown to be kind and excited to make friends, as well as capable of understanding others and their motivations, even if she is prone to being a bit short-sighted when it comes to getting caught up in her interests, which makes Heart her secondary. While it can be argued she was physically weak back on Earth, her captaincy and expertise with rogue-like abilities show she is strong in a physical since coming to Amphibia. So why would her weakest aspect be Strength?

Well, Marcy's instance of running away from home and her problems to a fantasy world shows her inability to stand strong against personal conflicts which she has no control over. She is capable of admitting her mistakes, yes, but she struggles to confront her problems in the first place, instead choosing to run from her parents and even continuing to try to drag the girls further into other worlds to avoid her looming future.

It's just amazing how much thought has been put into balancing these girls' characteristics; not just against each other, but also within themselves. I hope in the future these weaknesses will be explored and overcome in various ways!
