Lots of thoughts recently. Everything feels plastic.
I could go on and on about why all that AI "art" is bad. I could mention theft, lack of creativity, it's impact on the work field and environment, but countless people have already said all that. I wanted to touch on something that to me is the most utterly wrong about all of it.
Art is more than just something pretty to look at or listen to. It's therapeutic. It's a form of communication. A tool for human connection. It's a pure, human need.

Crazy thing about Ai is that we don't have to use it... remember that you have a brain and do not need a robot to make lists for you or do your homework or make art for you
You are capable of that. Don't let a bot convince you that you are too lazy and too busy to function without it. What is being a human supposed to be if we don't actually participate in the mundane of making a grocery list by hand.
So, you may have heard that Tumblr is using people’s art to train AI. It does this by taking any images people upload, and feeding them to the AI for training.
So I made a little thing you can use to defend against this. It might not be SUPER effective, but it’ll at least slow things down and hurt the overall effectiveness of AIs trained on it.
This is my anti-AI image. It’s designed to clog up the training of the AI by being mass reblogged / uploaded.
To understand how this works, you first have to understand how AI image generation works. The AI is trained on a massive amount of images, and learns to reproduce images that are similar.
Now, we want to make a significant portion of the AI’s training data consist of this image. If we do this, then the AI will struggle to generate art effectively, as it won’t have as much viable training data. Instead it’ll be more likely to just generate an image similar to this one.
Reblog it to spread the word, but be sure to take a screenshot or download the image instead, rather than just reblogging. That way it counts it as a new image, and feeds it to the AI again.

small rant, but why the FUCK is it so hard for my family to see how stupid ai is, ai art, ai writing, ai photos just AI IN GENERAL.
they dont realize AI us taking away people's jobs, their dreams, their livelihoods. They don't realize that even though it helps in small grammar mistakes, inevitably it kills the small child who's dream is to be an artist.
Despite all the hope i've seen of artists and writers fighting against ai art, i know deep down the chances of my dreams coming true are a small fraction.
like i'm sorry but we as a fandom have to stay firm on our anti-AI values. we cannot suddenly start giving AI a pass when it's something we "want to see" like destiel kisses. it's not suddenly fine. we're not going to start using AI to make fanfic scenes come to life or audio AI to make characters "say" stuff we want to hear. you have GOT to be firm on your anti-AI stance. if you start making exceptions then suddenly anything will fly. fandom is for real art and creations made by real people. no AI fanfics. no AI art. no AI rendered "bonus" scenes. no AI audio. none of it has a place here.
So a free tool called GLAZE has been developed that allows artists to cloak their artwork so it can't be mimicked by AI art tools.

Why does google even think it needs ai generated answers? It already hands you the basics on a plate, in about as much detail as the ai and actually correct. With a source! So you can check and get more detail!
It is a search engine. It's suposed to help you find answers, hopefully correct ones. Making stuff up is counter productive.
