people saying blackinnon won’t work because they too similar without realizing what that involves. here’s the person that holds the key to turn you into the best version of yourself meanwhile you fight against it so hard. you think you’re fighting them but actually your fighting yourself and no matter how complicated or toxic it might feel at times, the person your yelling at it’s the same person that won’t disappear on you cause they see you. they see the real you under all the layers and yet they also love all of your flaws. and by loving them they get to love themselves. they start to believe there might actually be a place in the world they belong to. they’re not lost, they’re not a disgrace (ahem sirius black im looking at you). someone loves you so hard that they stay, for as long as it takes, for you to realize you’re already worth something.
starting to feel like blackinnon love child at this point cause the lack of awareness yet the easy nature of it all, the obviousness and the playing it down games, the sneaking up on them both, the way they mirror each other that every time they tell something that infuriates them about the other they might as well be yelling at their own reflection but also believing in each other so hard in a way they don’t even believe in themselves and the angst of neither of them ever expecting to lose each other in such a tragic way despite all the deaths and disappearances going on around them. ugh, i need to lay down.
STOP IT YOU TWO WITH THE FLUFF IM GOING TO EXPLODE.
also the hair tie thing, marlene gave it to him one time and he never takes it off cause it’s smells like her (always makes sure she return it to him after using it).
Sirius will literally have his hand in Marlene's back pocket at all times. They're standing casually talking to their friends and he slips his hand into the pocket of her jeans. He's standing so close to her that nobody notices he's doing it. It's simutaneously the most innocent and most erotic thing
omg unlocked memory turn hd canon now but marlene trying to play it down, selling really hard the fact that they’re “mates”, it’s cool and sirius thinking du fuck? but also, right, no big deal while simultaneously freaking out in the inside because what does it mean?? cut to the moment they start going out and marlene having the audacity to be surprise they ended up together meanwhile sirius was tryin to be so smooth about the whole situation as not to spook her. marlene was three month in when she realized the whole castle knew they were a thing and somehow she was the last to notice. (ofc everyone knew, they were always touching each other tenderly/or aggressively depending on the mood).
Sirius and Marlene's first time having sex would make them stay in bed for a full 30 minutes, out of breath, glaring at the ceiling, bc neither of them could process that it actually happened.
sirius is either really confident/very good at pretending/or doesn’t care enough for other people’s opinions so i think it’s very funny if it’s marlene the only person to ever make him act awkward. specially at blackinnon early stages.
okay but let’s consider for a moment it went BAD. seth cohen/summer robberts first time kinda bad. so they keep hooking up until they get to know each other so well, they basically are able to read each others minds. they went from staring at the ceiling in horror afraid to let the other one know they thought it sucked to them going at it non-stop.

marlene mckinnon is the type of girl when anyone compliments her, she just agrees with them.
sirius finds that in itself insanely sexy.
La versión en español ya está arriba aquí.
Ok, so I lied. Yup. Couldn't wait a whole week 'cause I'm unable to fully concentrate on writing the next chapters if I'm constantly picking and editing the previous one when I know, in my heart, they're ready.
The first two chapters are really short and are a bit like a teaser anyway. You can read them both here.
And that's all I have to say for now, other than I hope I manage to capture your attention ;)

wait imagine james being disgusted at the beginning by the mere thought of sirius and marlene being together (he keeps forgetting they aren't actually related) and that being the first time he and lily agree on something??? completely different reasons, BUT STILL, a win is a win.
james getting closer to marlene through quidditch, starting to think of her as a little sister, obviously thinking sirius feels the same way 'cause they share the same brain cells and then BOOM! sirius kissing her???!! what do you mean you like her??? SHE'S LIKE A SISTER TO US???
I'm so bad at keeping things to myself, but since I won't be dropping the first chapters of Marauders: The untold story for, at least, one more week, I'll tell you what ships will be appearing:
Blackinnon, of course, and although they are the main couple that keeps the story moving, since it's told in an interview format, I would say that the other pairings aren't exactly just in the background 'cause, in a way, even Blackinnon its part of the background.
This story it told through remembrance, so... everyone gets to tell their story.
So the other and equally important pairings are: Jily, Gilderat, Emmary and... I would like to say Remus x Dorcas but it's not exactly just the two of them, you can let your imagination run wild with that one cause, after all, it's set on a rockstar kinda scene, lots of things going on at the same time.
So yeah, that's it.
okay so…
queen charlotte = tragic blackinnon backstory
bridgerton = marauders supporting harry’s first season where ginny is presented to society
and meanwhile in the back of my mind marlene mckinnon has been seen leaving the stables early in the morning wearing men’s clothing (how scandalous!)
back to regular business.
not gonna lie, i’ve been spending quite a lot of time this morning trying to emulate lady whistledown’s voice in my head to see if i manage to come up with something
but also i think it would be fun for a bridgerton au where marauders are adults and they’re guiding the new generations through the season. maybe it’s me just wanting for jily to meet ginny though (blackinnon could be turn into something more like queen charlotte, which i’m still not over it)
also, sirius is now known in my head as: most notorious rebel, so thanks anon!

sirius thought if he got away from any trouble inducing situations like, say, a party on the rooftop of the academy, then he couldn’t get in trouble, much less get suspended for it.
except he realized too late that he was the only kid on the academy that had a copy of the master key that gave access to the rooftop and, unfortunately, someone had stole it from his locker. he checked.
that was what he was doing when he caught sight of marlene dancing on her own late on a friday night.
he had been dancing long enough with her for him to realize there was more to her talent than just very calibrated movements and long beautiful lines.
there was some kind of pent-up emotion running wild somewhere under the fiber of her muscles. it was only watching from afar that he managed to put a finger on it.
and when she had dance adding a pirouette just as he had told her, he saw it coming to life in front of him.
that thing beneath her skin.
—that was a good suggestion, ever thought about teaching?
he thought he was alone, but when he lifted his head, caradoc was looking at him.
—i barely make it as student as it is.
—not for lack of talent.
it was the closest thing to a compliment he ever heard from the man.
—you should be careful though, sort out your feelings.
sirius was not quite sure what caradoc meant, was he merely talking dancing?
—sort out my feelings mister i-don’t-care-what-either-of-you-do? perhaps you should sort out yours, maybe take this to dinner? see where it might take us?
he could’ve swear he almost saw caradoc smile, faintly.
—just be careful, black.
confusion didn’t sit right with sirius, so when caradoc left him, he did the only thing that could help: he danced alone in the studio on a friday night.

she had decided to work on the new choreography emmeline had taught the girls that week, so she’d told sirius he was free to do whatever he wanted for the night.
when she finally stopped, frustrated in the middle of the song, she was startled to see him leaning against the frame of the door, watching her.
—you can fit three in there.
the song was still going on in the background.
—the beat is for two.
thankfully she could blame physical exertion for being so out of breath.
—just try it.
—and why should i listen to you?
it was one thing for him to show up out the blue, but now he had opinions on her dancing skills too.
—because my family has been at this for long before you tried on your first tutu and i might actually know what i’m talking about?
—wait, is it me or did it sound it like you almost said something nice about your family?
—see, that’s a common misconception. yes, my family tree it’s full of talented people: dancers, choreographers, orchestras conductors, creative directors and what not, but that doesn’t make them less shitty people.
—right, right, where as you only landed the shitty part, got it.
—joke all you want but this isn’t about me. now try it out how i told you to.
she gave him a quizzical look and too tired to protest, she decided to try again, following his suggestion.
she had got so caught up in the music, she didn’t realize sirius had left his place by the door and had been following each of her movements, circling around her.
he was standing in front of of her when she finished.
—see? that’s gives you more of an edge. stop trying with the soft and fluffy choreographies, it’s not you.
sirius was so close now, right in front of her, that she had needed to tilt her head to catch his eyes. there’s was something different about him that night and she couldn’t quite point out what.
—so aside from being a ballet critic, you also think you know me now?
sirius licked his lips, a small smirk on them.
—i have been dancing with you for the most part of the last six weeks. you’ll be severely injured by now if i didn’t.
marlene let out a shaky breath. sirius was much too close.
—not to count we’ve been classmates for years, mckinnon
and at that, marlene dropped her shoulders and shook her head.
—thanks for the tip, but i’m tired now. the space is free for the next hour if you want to use it.
hurriedly, she went for her bag and left him alone.

i didn’t think my silly idea of ballet au blackinnon was gonna give me so much to write but i already have like two more, i don’t know? episodes i guess coming. i’m dying cause i know shit about ballet.
you can catch up here if you want to.
Officially working in the interview format story of Marauders, the band au centered on Blackinnon, but with Jily on the background as well (and possible other pairings, idk yet). And yes, I'm writing both versions (sp/en). See here if you want to know more about it.
"A Blackinnon story" will be updated on monday and "Like a bludger to the heart" on wednesday (I also added a bonus chapter that I'll drop to the original version once we get there with the translation).
And this time I won't be dropping anything earlier because I'm going out of town for a few days.
That's it, for now.
sirius and james being so codependent on each other that, every time i portray marlene being angry at sirius, she has to throw a little "fuck you too, potter" one way or another.
john wick but is actually sirius black after they kill padfoot, the little black puppy his deceased wife marlene left him.

—where have you been? been ages you since you joined me for a run.
—turns up i don’t have anything else to run from.
—ha, can believe you said that with a straight face.
—been practicing.
—what? your poker face?
—no, you idiot. i’ve been practicing. with marlene.
—you’re joking.
sirius made a face. of course not even his best friend would understand. he didn’t either.
—you’re not joking. wow, that’s much worse. what has gotten into you, mate? thought you were leaving this place.
—turns up if i leave, they sack her too.
—didn’t think you were the caring type.
sirius fell backwards onto his mattress letting out a frustrated groan. it was all such a mess. he was a fault away from being suspended, possibly permanently. and yet…
—wait, i was joking. you seriously care if she gets thrown out? has mckitten gotten under your skin?
—don’t call her that.
—so she has. fuck me, i might need more than a run to wrap my head around it.
—this is all lupin’s fault. if he were here, i wouldn’t have to be dealing with none of this shit.
—sure mate, you keep telling yourself that. let’s pretend like you didn’t tried to actually be her partner from the start.
sirius came back up, sitting on the edge of the bed, appalled at the accusation.
—that was different, i was trying to get her into bed back then —he protested as if that was a much better reason.
—oh black, you’re going to wish that’s all that would’ve happened. you’re in so much trouble now.
sirius could still hear james laughing down the corridor on his way to make his nightly run.
he was right, though. he was in trouble, one way or another.

marlene could at least commiserate with her best friend over the fact that now both of them were paired up with boys they didn’t particularly like.
except that everyone thought james potter would become the next male etoile, while sirius… well, she guessed it was a good thing that no one could deny the fact he was talented.
—surely this can’t be the first time you’ve been asked to do something with someone you hate.
—i don’t hate you. i barely know you.
—but you don’t like me.
—it’s not personal.
—of course it’s personal, mckinnon, otherwise you wouldn’t care so much.
—well, yeah, but that's my problem.
—funny, you have make it everybody’s problem with the way you’ve been running around asking to get rid of me.
—i can’t get rid of you, that’s the problem.
—so it is personal.
marlene sighed in frustration.
—yes, it is personal. it’s personal because if they get rid of you, then i’m cut out of the program too. so no, i don’t dislike you personally, just the idea of you.
—seems to me you would hate it more if i wasn’t here.
—you see my predicament then.
—not really.
sirius laugh it off.
—come on, let’s take it from the top.
marlene relented. she supposed it was progress sirius had agreed to practice after hours.
pt. 1 | pt. 2 | pt. 3 | pt. 4 | pt. 5
marlene mckinnon was like a window that looked into the sea in a prisoners cell.
sirius black was a star that didn’t get his wish.
it was the window of his cell in azkaban he was looking out.
i feel like the first time i went diving into ao3 i couldn’t find, for the love of me, any blackinnon story that resonated with me.
and swear i don’t know what happened but suddenly i have like a ton of tabs open on my browser of stories about those two i want to delve into (i guess i wasn’t looking that hard after all).
the thing is i’m scared to start reading because i don’t want to feel like i might copy someone but worse than that, im scare to find something so good inside that might make me go: yep, never gonna be able to write that good. might just give up now.
does anyone relate to that feeling? 😂
it’s genuinely the reason i don’t ever write any wolfstar or dramione.
ballet academy au | blackinnon edition
—please don’t do this to me, caradoc.
caradoc dearborn was the youngest choreographer in the academy and, as such, desliked being called by any other name than his own.
—for the hundred time, marlene, i didn’t do this to you.
—but i can’t keep dancing with him, he’s unreliable.
—has he drop you?
—no.
—has he shaken when lifting you up?
—no.
—have you been feeling at risk?
—no.
—then i don’t see the issue.
—you know what the issue is. you know him. i can’t relax when i dance with him. he rarely shows up and when he does he’s always late. he never listen or pay attention. we’ll never improve. i’ll never improve with him.
—look, you either learn to work him and value the opportunity or we find you someone on a lower class and you get stuck behind all your peers. your choice.
—that’s not a choice, that’s mostly an ultimatum. either him or stop dancing altogether.
marlene had been complaining to caradoc ever since the first day she was asked to dance with sirius, but she couldn’t stop.
—just be glad you have a choice, mckitten.
marlene tensed up and turned her head abruptly at the sight of sirius.
—don’t call me that.
—hey, i didn’t come up with it.
it was true. marlene had made the mistake of hooking up with a upper classmate last year who then went and told all the boys what had happened between them. before he graduated. the nickname, unfortunately, stuck.
—look, i don’t care what either of you do. dance together or find new people, i couldn’t care less. whatever you choose to do, just make sure your on time for my next class. i’m talking to you, black.
sirius saluted him before caradoc went out the studio.
marlene left in a huff seconds later.

after the summer of her fifteenth birthday, marlene made peace with the fact that her height would always constitute a problem, no matter the company she was working for.
yet she wasn’t exactly part of any company. she was still in an academy, working a program. except she was paying them not the other way around. but that didn’t even matter because the issue with her height couldn’t be solved with money.
it all reduced to the fact of the male dancers. if they couldn’t find an appropriate partner for her, then she couldn’t dance. it was that simple.
marlene didn’t felt it was that simple, though nobody cared.
remus had been her partner for years now, but lately he was having to deal with a lot of health issues —who wasn’t really, muscle relaxers and other drugs were often common currency amongst ballet dancers—, but remus had been asked to take a leave and they weren’t sure yet if he would return any time soon. or ever, for that matter.
and so they had stuck her with the only other boy who might suit her: sirius black.
and they all knew he couldn’t be trusted.

boys in the ballet —well, men actually, but he recognize he had been acting more like a boy these days— were often times invisible. often in the background, unseen. they were like accessories of no true significance.
but the truth was, they were important. vastly so.
see, they were the pillars on top of which the whole piece, the whole choreography, rested on. they were unseen much like the beams in the ceiling of the theatre. yet the whole building would collapse if they weren’t there.
he realized that now, whether he liked it or not.
and it was all her fault.
he was ready to leave, to put it all behind him, but he wasn’t prepared to deal with the fact that it would be his fault if marlene’s career crumbled down.
pt. 1 | pt. 2
just so you know, there are a lot of new chapters on “like a bludger to the heart” cause, as always, i can’t contain myself when something it’s done.
the only way i see sirius proposing to marlene is this:
they’ve been a situationship for years. they’re okay with it. it works for them. makes everyone mad but fuck them, it’s their lives. it’s their personal business.
but then, in the midst of a war they’re starting to believe might actually lose (it’s has been a very very bad few months people), they get together. sirius drinks a bit more than usual. and so he asks marlene if she thinks what they have could be more.
if they should take things to the next level.
marlene is kinda lost at the beginning.
then she thinks he’s asking her to be his girlfriend.
sirius insists, she’s there. he’s there. they always go out of their way to be there for each other. they could take things to the next next level.
and then it sinks.
he’s talking marriage.
sirius never actually says it, but rectifies by saying: forget it, i’m drunk, i’ll probably die soon anyway.
she ends up dying instead.
this is gonna be sacrilege but…
i think if marlene had survived and the war had ended, she and sirius would have been that fiery couple, the kind no one would ever denied were deeply in love with each other but, at some point, would have gotten separated.
after a while, they both would have moved on, found new partners (never got kids though), saw each other occasionally, mainly for harry’s birthdays.
they would have become that couple, even though they were no longer together, that every one talked about when they weren’t present.
no one ever understood why they broke up.
their friends are still waiting for them to get back together.
