IM SO PROUD OF YOU <333 MY BLOOD <333
leave him alone he’s pupating
also hello, technically my first ever post on tumblr. i figured i wouldn’t ever get to posting on here but the lack of collective uproar in the bsd fandom about the absolute body horror that went on in the newest chapter is baffling to me and i must fill this niche. like right now. he literally emerged from under bram’s skin that is terryfying and i need more. also i am very much aware of the fact that the “tripolar singularity” line does not refer to fyodor himself, but the composition of this piece is already whack i needed something to fill the blank spaces. yapping aside- bon apetit fyodor enjoyers and haters alike
I suspect we've actually seen evidence of Atsushi manipulating the timeline already.
"Remi, what on Earth are you talking about? Surely, we would have noticed such a thing! And also who are you and when did you get here?"
We've actually seen him do it quite a bit. But we've gotten so used to it and it arrived so early, we didn't question it:
Every time he heals.
Let's jump back to chapter seven - remember what Yosano says?
"A complete restoration" like the injury never happened. Now, my Bleach fangirl isshowing, but there's a character in Bleach with a similar prowess when it comes to healing, and it's eventually revealed that he ability is not healing, not regeneration, but negation. She undoes what has happened to restore things to how they were before. It's a time ability.
So consider: the Tiger doesn't heal, doesn't regenerate. Rather, it merely jumps to or pulls on a page or timeline where the hit never happened, restoring itself and Atsushi to full health.
Snip, snip.
*cackles in validation* Hey. Hey guys. Is Atsushi the bookmark because he’s the protagonist of the story and thus the page is marked depending on his phase of the journey, or is he the protagonist because he is the bookmark, where his very existence necessitates him becoming a catalyst so the story can unfold and be read in linear time?
Heart (härt) - Noun: Personality, Disposition.
You could never stand the weretiger- pathetic and yet standing where you wished and should. Something about him just rubbed you the wrong way. Something about him irked you- not just that he occupied a position undeserved, a position he did not understand. But something more.
The way he ran himself ragged for people who would never acknowledge him. Bleeding out for permission he needn't ask for from people who wouldn't give it. Willing to die on the off-chance that someone would tell him that his life had value.
He was kind because he was selfish. Selfless because he had something to gain. Gentle because he was designed to hurt- made to kill. Those contradictions irritated you.
It disappointed you, his personality.
It made you sick, honestly.
And yet that disposition seemed familiar, but you did not address it. It was pointless to think about. After all-
Knowing the weretiger's heart was not something needed in order to rip it out of him.
Heart (härt) - Noun: The emotional or moral nature as distinguished from the intellectual nature
You could never understand Mafia's dog- the way he killed so easily as if he would die without it (you think he might). The way violence was his only calling- a calling that he never seemed to miss. Every time you met, the smell of death followed him and it never made sense to you- how someone could feel so little, even if they were cruel.
You weren't even partially sure that the bloodied man even HAD emotions TO feel. You fought to live, but that did not mean you took life lightly- not in the slightest. Life held value to you. Every person had a soul and a life.
Every person had a heart.
Except him.
Which is why it surprised you when he let you borrow his strength for the first time. And then for the second time. For someone who hated you so much, he hated letting you lose to someone else so much more. And yet you could understand why.
So, you issued your challenge. You needed him to earn his right for combat.
You needed to see if he was truly heartless and what that heart was made of.
Heart (härt) - Noun: Courage or enthusiasm especially when maintained during a difficult situation
Your death is quick. You barely feel the blade but you certainly feel the blood. But only for a moment. But only for a second.
And in that second, you think back.
You came because Dazai told you to. You followed because he needed you to be his Eyes. You said you'd let that damned weretiger die.
But he knew you didn't mean it.
And he was right.
He was always right.
You'd always sort of hated that about him.
You'd known this fight was no longer in your favor- it had stopped the second that damned sword came out. No. That was a lie. Your favor had never existed in this fight- not so long as it was Fukuchi you were fighting.
So, you'd had to make a choice. One that determined how many deaths would be marked and how many bodies found. You'd just known that- however you chose -one of those bodies would be yours.
Sacrificing yourself for the weretiger is not something you truly ever thought you'd do- for many reasons -but you let your blood spill for him nonetheless. You forced him to flee- knowing he'd wouldn't understand why.
As much as your heart had protested- as much as it had wished to beat and beat and beat for just a few moments longer -your heart had known you would not listen. Your heart had known it had to steel itself in order to do what you needed to do. The courage to sacrifice for the weretiger you had wanted so desperately to kill.
And then your heart stopped.
And then your eyes opened.
Heart (härt) - Noun: One's innermost character, feelings, or inclinations
You'd never seen into someone's heart before- not like this.
Before the blade, you'd just been glad to see Akutagawa alive again- even if not quite himself as before but more himself than when you last saw him. You'd been afraid he was lost forever, your voice not reaching his ears, no matter how loud you cried or how strong your faith.
He was back and he was strong and you knew you couldn't let him die again. Even if it wasn't a true death. It was your turn to save him- to show him that you wanted him to stay.
And now here you stood, in the mires of his heart and it wasn't quite what you thought it would be. You watched him play out emotions you recognized in situations you recognized born of desire you recognized. And in this moment, you realized his heart was just as bruised as your own.
His heart was just as damaged and bound by a need intrinsic.
You let yourself walk through the alleys of his heart and his soul, letting his memories and experiences wash over you. His emotions, pure and entire.
His vengeance towards a world that never gave to him. His rage at a world that took from him. His hunger for purpose and for praise. His hatred for you and what you stood for. His anger. His pain. His desire.
His every beat of his heart.
A heartbeat you felt begin to resound with your own.
Heart (härt) - Noun: Love, Affection
You couldn't help but be angry- though who or what the emotion was directed at was unclear. You were angry at the Weretiger for being so stupid as to sacrifice himself. Angry at the being that killed him. Angry at the man who caused all this.
Angry at yourself for letting it happen and angry at yourself for needing his death to remember.
But you needed to fight because you refused to let his actions become null and void. So, you would continue to fight- as he would. You fought and you fought and you fought, feeling that familiar chill up your spine again. That feeling of death.
And yet.
And yet.
You don't think of the man you've spent your life trying to please, clawing for acknowledgement from until your fingers painted in red. You think of a fool so... foolish that he died for you of all people. A man who would rather die that let himself become a burden. A man who had called to you when you were lost in the prison of your own mind- reaching out no matter how much pain you caused him.
And you had heard him. Even if you could not respond, you had heard him because how could you not? His cries and his faith had not reached your ears but your soul which was so tethered to him and his at this point you were unsure where his started and yours began.
Death waiting once again, you do not see or hear Dazai. It is all Atsushi Nakajima.
He is your ordeal.
He is your greatest challenge.
He is your most infuriating ally.
He is so much more than words can truly describe.
More than just a person.
So, no matter the dimension, no matter the god- the Weretiger WOULD be returned to you and your side.
You reach forward again, your fight far from over, and you let it drive you. You let it guide your hand and your blade. It which has guided the both of you ever since the very first day you met. It which has driven you from the very start.
That which drives us to act, a mysterious thing called the Heart.
Imagine you are Atsushi. You think you know a man. You think you see him for who he is- bleeding claws and all. You think that you are sure in his character and in his entirety. You think that after so many battles and so much death, there is nothing else for you to know.
You are wrong.
You think the two of you could not be more different or distant if you tried. You think that despite any change you may have brought, he is still someone you could never understand. You've come to terms with the idea that you both are simply two sides of the same coin.
You are wrong.
And it takes an unfeeling blade for you to finally learn how much so.
You learn that you only vaguely knew him- a shadow blurred across your vision. You learn his claws are not simply bloodied from pain caused but from pain given- from climbing a mountain insurmountable even to one as strong as him. You learn that you knew his surface but not his core- something no battle had ever taught you. There is so much you have yet to know.
So, you follow.
You learn the two of you are not so very different, the distance no more than a few steps. You learn that any change you brought in him was because, unknowingly, you were speaking a language that you didn't know he spoke right back. You learn that the hate that he held for you was born of a desire just as your own.
So, you follow.
And you learn that there was never a coin at all, just a mirror- a thing made of broken edges, bruised bones, and hateful words. And you learn there were never two sides, simply two caged and cornered animals staring back at the other- hearts bleeding and hands grasping.
Grasping for acknowledgment, for acceptance, for a reason, for permission, for someone to tell them they were finally enough.
You stare at the man in the mirror, a dark anger of a person- all sharp points and serrated defenses- and can see yourself in his eyes. Eyes that don't look at you the same way they used to.
You wonder: when he looks in this mirror, does he see the same?
You will simply have to ask him once you return.
Imagine you are Atsushi. You have seen the heart of a man. A man with whom you cannot accurately describe your relationship- no word seems precise enough nor powerful enough. You still don't fully understand him. He still confuses you, annoys you, and causes an itch you cannot seem to scratch.
But none of that matters because you have already decided he is worth sacrificing for. Because he is Ryuunosuke Akutagawa.
You have already made it to the door that- if done right -will guide you back to him, aided by the ghosts of his past and yours.
And so, you place your hands upon the entrance and push.
Imagine you are Akutagawa. You have just watched the person you most consider your equal die. The only one who has ever stood up against you, the only one to truly stand beside you, and someone you would let stand behind you.
And he is gone. Turned to light and dust in the air. And you could not save him for all your power and strength.
And only now do you see everything.
The hate.
The anger.
The respect.
The love.
Only now do you see and feel and remember all that Atsushi Nakajima was to you. And it doesn't even matter because he is gone. He is gone, gone, gone. And he is gone because he wanted for you to stay.
Just as you wanted him to stay.
And you don't know how to feel because he is gone but he did it because he believed you, of all the mutts and monsters and strays, deserved to live.
Of all of the unwanted creatures in the world, you met the one you needed. Someone who you saw and who saw you. Who you would save and who would save you in turn. Because, now that your eyes are clear and unclouded and full of light- his light -you can see that you were wanted.
Both of you were.
Because were either of you truly unwanted, why would you die for him and he for you?
And it burns and it aches and it hurts because despite both of you wanting and wishing- you, Ryunosuke Akutagawa, are alone.
Because one stupid, foolish weretiger asked for you to live.
Because one idiotic, stubborn, wandering stray dog wanted for you to stay.
Imagine you are Akutagawa. You wake up a blank slate- knowing simply your name and your purpose: protect the princess. Protect the commoners. Those are your only thoughts. Your only duty.
And so you do.
You must slay the evil that threatens the princess. Slaughter it so that it never darkens her doorstep again. Destroy it so that no commoner must fear again. But what you find is not simply the evil, but someone else. He seems to recognize you, but you cannot. He calls to you, afraid- you don't listen. Who is he?
No matter. He is a commoner, which means he must be protected. That is all there is to it. All that matters is destroying the evil in front of you. Nothing more. Nothing less. That is your duty as a knight.
You clash with the evil, a blur of blades and power and sparks. You fight to protect and to serve and to succeed.
And then you fall. You don't quite know how, but you fall nonetheless. You are prone and bleeding and hurt. You are lifted into the air, pain and anger and the voices: Protect the Princess. Protect the commoners. Protect the Princess. Protect the commoners. But you cannot move. You cannot fight. You accept your fate as a knight should. That is all you can do.
A weight crashes into you, heavy and deliberate. You feel yourself fall again, but this time it's different. Because you see him. Arms outstretched. Arm. Arm outstretched. He saved you- protected you. He let himself hurt for you. Die for you. Why? Why would he do this? Who is he? What is he? Why?
Why?
Why?
"Consider us even. Away with you..." he smiles at you, turning to light. "...you fool."
And you remember.
And you remember.
And you scream because that is your partner, your other half, your fool. The man you found enough to hurt for. To die for. To protect because he is Atsushi Nakajima and that was reason enough.
And you remember.
And you scream.
Imagine you are Akutagawa. You wake up a blank slate- knowing simply your name and your purpose: protect the princess. Protect the commoners. Those are your only thoughts. Your only duty.

I've been thinking about Akutagawa's "Who are you?" for HOURS and I'm begging- hands and knees -for this to be a "get your shit together atsushi" moment and not actually "whoops brain wipe because of vampire shit" moment.
Like, these two goobers know each other better than they'd like to admit- particularly when it comes to combat because of how they've fought side-by-side so many times. So, it would make sense for Akutagawa to see Atsushi's current state and go "I don't know any pathetic losers like you" because he doesn't have time to deal with Atushi's current state at the moment and also because he's just that kind of blunt asshole (in the most affectionate way possible). The weretiger he knows always fights back and never gives in and is constantly fighting to live- to prove he deserves to live -no matter who the opponent or how powerful. Yet, the person before him is begging for death and on his knees before a foe, crying and sniveling. That person isn't someone he recognizes. And as we all know, Akutagawa isn't someone to mince words or give platitudes, especially to someone like Atushi who he regards as his rival in a sense, so he'd never say anything like "this isn't like you" or crap like that. And this goes double since he's now also busy facing pretty much a god and doesn't have time to dissect whatever's up with Atsushi.
So, of course, the natural thing for him to do is be his usual, straightforward, and somewhat mean self. "Who are you?" Not a simple question of identity but a statement of disappointment (for lack of a better word here at 1AM). A challenge directed at Atsushi to get it together and remember what they're doing here. Obviously, Atsushi's behavior is the result/has been heavily influenced by- y'know -literally everything that's happened in the last few chapters but regardless of whether or not Akutagwa even knows that (betting on not at the moment, me thinks), what he does know is that this isn't the time to be letting Fyodor have his way and that he needs to fight. He's telling Atsushi to stand up and be the weretiger he knows and has fought beside every time and, in terms of SSKK, his other half.
And now, we're all just waiting for that moment when Atsushi gets back up and Akutagawa gets his partner back and then they bully (AKA flirt) with each other in standard SSKK fashion while they beat up Fyodor and his god best friend.
Of course, I've already seen a couple other people mention this idea as well because A) we're all coping together and B) it would be a clear and interesting narrative line to take (in my personal opinion). A show of how these two enemies/rivals truly see each other and that they are a team despite appearances. A moment that reminds us, and potentially even them, that they know each other better than they think.
Probably just stating the obvious here or doing a longer-winded version of what everyone's already been thinking (especially since I'm like 3 days late to the party) but whatever lmao. Just needed to yell into the void a little bit and put the manifestation of this scene into the world.
(art is not mine)
There are many reasons that could be for chuuya becoming the next boss of the Port Mafia could be a natural progression for several reasons based on his character traits and the current trajectory of the story:
1. Leadership Skills: Chuuya has a natural knack for leadership, though he often hides it under his brash, impulsive demeanor. His strong sense of loyalty, tactical mind, and decisive nature make him a capable leader. Throughout the series, Chuuya has shown that he can command respect and handle situations that require authority, even if he tends to be more reactive and aggressive.
2. Relationship with the Previous Boss: Chuuya has a strong connection with the previous boss, Ougai Mori, having been one of his top lieutenants for years. Despite their differences, Chuuya’s loyalty to the Port Mafia and to Mori is unwavering. However, if the power structure in the Port Mafia were to change (either through Mori’s downfall or some internal conflict), Chuuya could step up as a stabilizing figure to lead.
3. Power and Influence: Chuuya's ability to wield the "For the Tainted Sorrow" ability gives him immense physical power. In a world where power is key to survival and dominance, Chuuya’s strength would be an attractive asset to the mafia. His prowess in battle has often placed him in situations where he could lead or control operations on a large scale.
4. Growth and Development: Over the course of Bungou Stray Dogs, Chuuya has evolved as a character. While he started off as an impulsive and hot-headed individual, he has shown deeper layers, particularly in his interactions with Dazai and his recognition of the bigger picture. If he continues to mature, he could take on a more strategic, calm, and calculating role, making him a more suitable figure for leadership.
5. Power Vacuum: If something were to happen to Mori, such as his death or removal from power, the Port Mafia would need a new leader. Chuuya is one of the few members who has the strength, tactical mind, and loyalty to the organization to fill this void. His rivalry and relationship with Dazai also position him as a figure who could step up to maintain control over the Port Mafia's operations.
In summary, Chuuya has the traits necessary to be the next boss of the Port Mafia, such as leadership ability, power, and loyalty. His story arc could potentially lead him down this path, especially if the current leadership structure changes or collapses.
Also this is based of on a pin i found on Pinterest but lost it , i think that mori actually is asexual and not a pedo and somehow find it very disrespectful that asagiri made him a pedo but anyway, similar to what dazai had done to mori in beast (send him to be the headmaster of an orphanage) i think that chuuya would do the same because some how, mori just seems like he wants to be a father and a lot of his actions like buying elise gifts and all are fatherly affections. Or Maybe something might happen to mori in this arc like fukuzawa that would force chuuya to take over port Mafia and dazai would take over armed detective agency (because kunikida is dead) and that would truly make them opposites.
I actually love how Kōyō's right eye is specifically covered and not her left because the right eye is mostly believed to be "good" or to represent "Heaven." While the left eye is to represent the "devil" or "hell." This is again connected to connected to Kōyō's beliefs on the world itself. When we see the panel of when Kōyō was much younger, she had both eyes visible, but in present timeline and overall after the death of the older man she attempted to escape with, her right eye is covered. This is actually to show how Kōyō can't see anything but darkness now. She has covered the good part of herself and has accepted the darkness and cruelty of the mafia. She had both eyes present when she was younger because she had the chance of being in the light. But now, that chance is gone, and she is stuck in the dark, refusing to come out. We can also see that she almost always has her right hand covered, again, symbolising how she has become the darkness in a way. The right hand is considered holy, and the fact that she often covers it is such an interesting detail.
This also greatly reforms there whole "siblings -in -everything but- not -blood" as currently chuuya is walking the same path as kōyō did once just in a different way, chuuya's path started out different from kōyō but I can see him covering his right eye again if he becomes the next pm boss . The same path different shoes.
Similarly chuuya also is sporting a similar hair style by covering his right eye or the "good" , "heavenly" because he refuses to believe in the good of the people after the deaths of the flags of his friends
This also makes chuuya seem more similar to verlaine as he is literally having the same hairstyle as him , showing his possible sway to his older brothers words and actions
Ah yes the footage of me deciding to read stormbringer and getting attached .. Knowing damn well what awaits
(ps:ignore the poor editing skills)
I was so happy reading this until the last para
I'm broken y'all 😭 might pull a beast!dazai soon
Headcanon: When you call the Agencies phone line and no one picks up you’ll be greeted by a message.
It’s usually from Kunikida saying that they’re busy at the moment and to call later. It’s very professional until you hear “ohhh Kuuuniiikiiiidaa” and the rest of the message intercuts with him yelling at Dazai.
But there’s other messages from each Detective all repeating the same message as Kunikida.
With their own flair.
Dazai will happily ask if a fair maiden is calling to commit double suicide with him. Junichiro’s is fine until he goes all scary like “but if this is that fucker who tried hurting Naomi then I will…”
The rest of that message has been censored.
Yosano’s has screams in the background. Kenji’s has mostly cows but also various other farm animals making noises in the background.
Kyouka does the message but instead of ending it there she just carries on talking to Atsushi for a while before it cuts off.
Similarly, Atsushi’s is him giving the message and then talking to Kyouka or being dragged away by Dazai.
Ranpo’s is just the normal message with “I’ll do you the honour of taking it if it’s interesting.” Before doing a 180 and cheerfully greeting Detective Minoura.
Fukuzawa’s is the only normal one, promising this matter will be dealt with soon. And making sure the caller is safe.
Thinking about Atsushi calling the Agencies number and of course it goes straight to the answering machine. Because no one’s here and he just wants to hear everyone’s voices again.
Bro so old he speaks the language of Jesus lol.
Basically, I can put my History and Religious Studies Degree and put that shit to use and do some good for society
Essentially, I think chapter 113 left us clues for hinting at the bigger themes of Bungo Stray Dogs and possibly some insight into Fyodor's motivation for being caught by Bram. This might get long so buckle up bitch.
OH AND I THINK I FIGURED OUT THE EXACT YEAR THE DUNGEON MEMORY TAKES PLACE
Okay, so the first thing to understand is the contemporary events mentioned in Chapter 113. The guards and Bram mention King Matthias, the Sultan, and the Holy Crusaders.
The Crusades, for those of you who don't know, are a series of so-called Holy Wars whose main objective was the "reclamation" of the Holy Land. However, not all crusades had this objective. There were several crusades within Europe itself. These wars, like the Cathar Crusade, were aimed at driving out paganism or "heretical” sects of Christianity. While the main Crusades happened centuries before the Dungeon scene took place (the first official Crusade happening in 1095) there existed later Crusades that often sought to limit the authority and scope of the Ottoman Empire. Which is also mentioned in the chapter with "Sultan"
Now the Sultan mentioned is Mehemed II, often referred to as the Father of Conquest. He was in power when King Matthias (Matthias was the King of Hungary and Croatia) ruled and often fought to expand Ottoman territory into the lands Matthias ruled.
Now, you know who else was a contemporary ruler? Our boy Vlad Dracul, the inspiration behind Bram Stoker's Dracula.
Now, Vlad Dracul was the ruler of Wallachia, which is basically Romania today. Now it is my belief that Bram Stoker. like a lot of characters in BSD, is inspired by the tale of Dracula and not the actual Bram Stoker. But, I think instead of using the character of Dracula, Asagiri is using Vlad Dracul (also known as Vlad Tepes) as Bram's inspiration. This is for two reasons. 1. The castle depicted in the manga is the same castle Vlad ruled from 2. Bram states that he wants Fyodor skewed like a little shrimpy on the grill. Vlad Dracul got his bloodthirsty reputation by impaling his enemies and leaving their heads on pikes outside his castle for several months at a time. In fact, I forget the exact quote, but a visitor of the castle during Vlad's reign said you could smell the decaying rotten flesh for miles before arriving at the castle. This is why Bram Stoker wrote Dracula based on Vlad Dracul.
Now as for the specific year the memory takes place, I personally believe it takes place in the year 1462, either summer or early fall. Once again this is based on the textual evidence given in the manga... The guards are clearly nervous about the sultan, who we have established is Mehemed II. This guy is responsible for the downfall of the Byzantine (or Eastern Roman Empire) and founded the Ottoman Empire. He also has beef with Vlad since Vlad brutally killed Ottoman envoys sent to Wallachia in an attempt to make Wallachia a vassal state for the Ottomans. Moreover, 1462 was the year that Vlad was imprisoned by King Matthias till his release in 1475. During this time Wallachia was essentially conquered. Vlad died between 1476 and 1477 (the sources don't have a specific date).
Now historically speaking there is reason as to why King Matthias imprisoned Vlad. A letter, which a lot of scholars think was made up, allegedly claimed Vlad pledged his allegiance to the Ottomans to help them conquer Hungary and Croatia. Now, strictly speaking for the events of the manga, having Bram imprisoned and/or taken out of power sounds like something Fyodor would do. So it makes sense that in the manga he would have something to do with Bram being imprisoned. If Bram is imprisoned that is to say since we still don't have clear motives for that.
It should also be noted that Fyodor warns Bram that the "Gods of Warfare come from the West”. historically speaking it was the Ottoman Empire that caused Wallachia problems and not the Holy Roman Empire aka the Romans mentioned in the chapter. The only reason I can think of the guards and Bram suspecting "holy crusaders" and "Romans" is because of their differing religious beliefs. Now Wallachia followed Orthodox Christianity while Romans obviously followed Roman Catholic traditions. Protestantism wasn't a thing yet, but these two groups were already tense and there have been several major conflicts (like the Crusades I mentioned earlier) and schisms within the church.
So, this is the only thing I could think of, but I'm not sure of what Fyodor's play is at here. Maybe he's an immortal being wanting to rid the world of abilities and having Bram Stoker in chaos would help in advance that goal. Maybe he can take people's life forces away like I've seen a lot of people suggest. I don't know. And the whole "come from the West" quote is the one thing throwing me off. Overall, I would love to know if Asagiri used any sources from the period to influence this memory scene, and if so...I wanna know which one's bestie!!
Please let me know what you think! If I just rambled or if my sleep-deprived thoughts and research make any semblance of sense. I would also love to know any fun theories and/or facts you have about this chapter or BSD in general. Also, would pictures be helpful?
Hi! I'm Jamie or myboyherodotus on TikTok. I am going to be a primarily BSD blog and would love some people to follow!
BSD Historical Analysis (chapter 113 changed the game baby)

Just BSD brain rot
I feel like chapter 113 has allowed me to enter my final form as I can now nerd out about History and Bungo Stray Dogs. Its over for you bitches
