a quick carol sketch with some super quick coloring. not entirely happy with the way i draw eyes right now, i think that’s something i’m going to play around with a bit tomorrow. but i’m super in love with that inking brush preset. guh.
5-minute Captain Marvel warm-up sketch from earlier today.
I’m happy with how this turned out but I can’t place my finger on the reason why.
Rod Wong’s Ms. Marvel concept art for the cancelled Marvel’s The Avengers tie-in game.
(I like the goggles much more than the mask—they’re practical in the same way as the Kree helmet, and they make me wonder if anyone has ever drawn a steampunk Carol.)
'nother carol
i love how dexter soy draws the helmet assembling it’s like a short magical girl sequence
30 Day Comic Book Challenge Day Fourteen: Current Comic-Themed Wallpaper
My current wallpaper is a piece by the lovely Marcio Takara (Link) of the heroine Captain Marvel. I have long been a fan of Carol Danvers, and Mr. Takara’s piece really captures everything I love about the look. Since I don’t know what else to say for this post, what follows is my analysis of the piece and why I love it.
First off, I’m a huge fan of Marcio Takara. The man can draw really pretty pictures, and if you check out this tumblr you’ll see his versatility. This piece shows his use of color, really making the uniform of the newly minted Captain Marvel pop. In fact, I would go so far as to say that this is one of my favorite colorings of the uniform, giving it a realism you don’t often see.
In addition, the grace of the pose highlights both the femininity of the character as well as the power she commands. You look at Captain Marvel here and you see somebody who will mess you up good if you don’t follow the law.
However, my favorite part of the commission is the way that Takara draws Carol’s hair. My favorite part of the redesign from Ms. Marvel to Captain Marvel is the re-imagining of Carol’s hair, making her more distinct and recognizable in the line-up of Marvel’s finest. Here, Takara takes it a step further and makes it clear that Carol isn’t just using some fancy hair gel and that she’s got a fresh cut to go with her fresh outfit. Pretty slick.
End rant. Here’s another link to the original piece.
"Of course Chewie loves the hat you made him, Rose. It’s so sweet of you, thanks."
My contribution to the CarolCon art exchange, for justagirlky! (I considered having Chewie cosplay as Captain Marvel, but he wasn’t going to sit still for that, even if Carol would inflict that on him. Matching lucky hats would totally be a thing, though.)
I’m putting a hi-res downloadable version up on deviantArt, less because this doodle requires higher resolution and more because I haven’t posted on dA in months.
Happy CarolCon~!

A piece I’m using for a full page panel in a short ‘way in which Carol could be introduced to the MCU’ comic I’m working on, featuring Air Force Bros Carol and Rhodey.

Here’s my entry for CarolCon. This ended up being way more elaborate than I planned, but I’m happy with the result. I think clouds are becoming my replacement for flowers T^T Why do I always continue to chose complicated subjects?!
Captain Marvel aka Carol Danvers.
The first of my Marvel Quotable/inspirational/random thought idea thingy. And her hair came out awesome.
