tw there's a photo of a bee. bee aware. haha get it get it GET I
just putting this out there, i hate the stigma against carpenter bees.
"but they burrow in wood and ruin your house!" skill issue, my house is already in the trenches (constantly dirty for no reason, no ventilation, the floor is broken in quite a few spots, etc.)
"but they can still bite and sting you!" erm, ackshually 🤓 males don't have stingers. plus, the females typically aren't aggressive and only sting if absolutely necessary. and also, if they can bite, why do they like to sniff my hair when i go outside and bumble around just like their cousins?

like, come on. these little guys are absolutely adorable. i don't care about the structural integrity of your house, how can you hate these little fellas? i used to be fucking terrified of bees until i learned that the carpenter bees around my house literally just act tough and can't hurt you for shit
Been a busy bee today, so here are some animals from the Expo 70 Commemoration Park.

Some of my favorite bee photos! I think I had my nicer lens on for these, so they turned out a bit higher quality than others. Taking pictures of bees moving frantically from flower to flower is hard enough already—add in needing to get close and it's near impossible because they run away! My more ranged lens is nice for insects like bees, butterflies, and dragonflies that are large enough to focus easily from afar and are too skittish for getting super close. These turned out pretty cute!
