im paying for my hubris by trying to draw all the other cats from tidalclan's neighbouring clans but they are all at the same moon as i am (moon 30 as of writing this) and trying to make their refs for every 10th moon is hard given all the characters and deaths and subtracting moon ages

Moonstar gasps awake, sitting up so fast she rams her head into the thick underside of a low-hanging branch that she and her brother had spent the night taking turns sleeping under. They’ve been doing that, taking turns – who knows what things are lurking out here in the dark, so far from home.
If they can't go back, does it still count as home?
“Ow…” Moonstar groans, a sharp throb pounding against her skull. What a way to start the morning.
Fogfreckle ducks his head underneath one of the branches, sweeping past the leaves to gaze curiously at his sister. He tilts his head questioningly, mouth open to ask what’s wrong, when the words die on his tongue and his eyes widen.
“Fogfreckle!” Moonstar mews excitedly, leaping to her paws. “You’ll never guess what happened!”
“Your– your forehead,” Fogfreckle croaks. “You… were visited by StarClan?”
“What about my forehead?” Moonstar asks, confused and distracted. She presses a paw against her head to see if perhaps she’s bleeding, but her paw doesn’t come away warm or wet. The rest of her brother’s words filter to her slowly through the dull throb of pain and the fog of the early hour. She pouts. “Yeah, Star– how did you guess so quick?”
“There’s– your forehead. You have a star. A leader’s star.”
Moonstar’s pout deepens. “Well. That kind of steals my thunder.”
“Moonpool, what happened?”
“Moonstar now, actually.” Moonstar grins. “StarClan visited me in my dreams and granted me my nine lives. Isn’t that crazy? I didn’t even have to– there was no–” Moonstar’s tongue can hardly keep up with everything that’s swirling in her brain, the experience of her leader’s ceremony playing back to her as if memory and not just dream. “NimbusClan lives on, Fogfreckle. In us, just like you said. We’re to lead NimbusClan into its new future.”
“‘We’?” Fogfreckle asks weakly, jaw slack with disbelief.
“Of course, ‘we’!” Moonstar laughs, bounding closer to her brother. She feels so full of life, coursing through her like the widest, wildest river. “I wouldn’t be here if not for you, you know that. Besides, what’s a leader without her deputy?”
“Deputy?” Fogfreckle repeats, dumbstruck.
“What are you, a raven?” Moonstar laughs. “Yes, deputy! As leader, I’m appointing you as deputy of NimbusClan, Fogfreckle.”
Fogfreckle swells with pride, pale chest fluffed out as he inhales a shaky breath. “I– yes, Moonstar. Thank you.”
“Don’t get all formal on me, now. You’re my brother first, deputy second.”
“So, we really are still a Clan.” He grins, then the expression fades from his face somewhat. His eyes take on an earnest shine. “Did you… I know you’re not supposed to talk about the ceremony, but… when you visited StarClan, did you… did you see our parents?”
Moonstar smiles gently, heart squeezing painfully in her chest. Dad had told her to tell Fogfreckle that their parents miss him, too, so surely StarClan won’t be displeased if she shares just that much? “Yes. I saw them. Mom and Dad. They told me to tell you they miss you.”
Fogfreckle hiccups, stepping close to push his head hard against Moonstar’s.
“I wish you could have seen them too,” She adds in a whisper, nuzzling into his dawn-warmed fur. The sun is just starting to crest the side of the mountain on its way up, crawling lazily into the sky. Greenleaf heat creeps on silent, soft paws across her pelt. It’ll be humid later, but for now, it’s pleasant.
“Maybe they’ll walk in my dreams one day, too.”
“I hope so.” Moonstar presses one more smile into his fur and then pulls back, squaring her shoulders in what she hopes is a leaderly fashion. It’s only her brother, but she may as well start getting used to playing the role. “Alright, deputy. What’s our first order of business?”
Fogfreckle grins. “How about breakfast? I could go for some eggs.”
“Perfect idea.”
Both cats stretch out their paws and take off, bounding up the mountain.

There's a moon coming up where I'm gonna have to draw a lot of cats, and I want to make fanart for all my fans too - so please reply with/send me full body refs of any adult cats you want to be drawn and I'll draw them in this headshot template and put them in one of the upcoming CurlClan comics!!
The template is for 6 cats but I'll actually be drawing 12. Be aware I'm going to adapt your cats into the CurlClan style, and it'll be first come first served!

So a while back it was brought up to me that Coldcrash and Larchmask being mates could be seen as problamatic due to their ages, and after some thinking, I did agree on it (and acknowledged this in a previous post). Coldcrash is still only a fresh adult too so it would have been way too early. Since I was about 10 or so moons ahead, their relationship lasted a little while before I broke them up. I’m gonna ignore all their mate interactions from here on out. I didn't change anything in their relationship code yet so there is a small chance of them still ending up together but I'll have to see about it. I’d love to hear your own opinion on it as well.
Also, let me know if the dialogue text is too small, I was definitely experimental in this one

Game Rules:
I do want to try and aim for a coherent story, but these are the general rules in place that will help shape it.
Mass extinction events is on. If a cat dies, they are dead for good.
In addition to the above rule, if a cat needs to die for plot reasons, they are gonna.
Most Patrols are going to depend on the Patrol Traits. For example, if a patrol of three comes across a loner and the traits are positive (ex. loving, charismatic, etc.), they will proceed. However, if the traits are majority negative (ex. cold, bloodthirsty, etc.), they will aggravate. This rule may be bent at times
Cheating is on until I decide otherwise, whether due to clan size or relationship stuff
Unknown second parent is on, same behaviors as the rule above.
No romance between former mentors and first cousins. We're not ThunderClan here
Not every cat will be shown unless their event is important.

funfacts: Mistlethunder is RumbleClan's medicine cat and Mistfuzz is CycloneClan's medicine cat. Mistfuzz is the older cat, being 110 moons, and thus gave Coldpaw her name.

So we’re going with the meteor crash site! Cant wait to try drawing this. Gonna change the name to “Star’s Rest” though, sounds prettier (thank you to my boyfriend for that one)
So I'm heavily torn with what I want to be the "Moonstone/Moonpool" for TidalClan. I originally had the idea to make it a small meteorite crash site called The Fallen Star, but I'm also tossing around ideas about a waterfall or a willow tree. any suggestions?

decided to go back and freshen up some of the refs. really did not like larch's design ugh. coldpaw is gonna have to grow on me, she's got the bengal pelt and MAN that is not easy for me
larchmask and tidefur aren't the founders but i mean im not gonna leave em out. this is the clan at around moon 10, which is probably gonna be posted tomorrow

TidalClan Updates + Dark Forest Challenge Updates
ello ya'll it's been a while since the last TidalClan update. Unfortunately, my work life and my personal life have clashed together and I haven't found a lot of time to continue the Moons. I don't have any plans to discontinue TidalClan (I'm up to Moon 25!), but updates will likely be sporadic and not entirely scheduled like I initially wanted them to be. This is just better for me as to not feel pressured by something I wanna take my time with and enjoy. So to fans of TidalClan, you'll get something soon. Moon 10 is gonna be fun ^^
And I didn't forget about the Dark Forest Challenge Poll I made a while back...
I've already begun planning out the settings and background characters of my Dark Forest Challenge run. I will be following the rules outlined here. @/gray-thistleclan was a huge inspiration for this, so please give them and their series a follow. ^^ The blog isn't up yet, but here is a sneak peek of the upcoming map!
I'm looking forward to starting this ClanGen run and I hope everyone is looking forward to it too! But for now, I'll see you all next time!
I updated Clangen with the new fresh-kill system but I really don't know how to feel about it yet. I'm not sure if I will just ignore it as I started TidalClan before the update or just slowly somehow integrate it if things like starvation really affect the plot. I may have to include it for my upcoming Dark Forest Challenge run (In progress and woo boy).

heavily debating on having a side-clangen-blog using the Dark Forest Challenge rules... Would anyone be interested in that? I will say that updates would be a bit slower between tidalclan and the dark-forest blog but if no one minds that then why not right
did you have to make up the prophecy in moon four, or did it auto-generate?
I made it up myself! I haven' t gotten any auto-generated prophecies. I don't know if that's a Dev ClanGen thing (I'm playing the latest version of the public build). But I am genuinely curious about them. I haven't had one show up so I'm assuming it's a Dev thing.

larchmask seems to be fitting in well. although coldpaw needs to learn that larchmask can interact with everyone else

isn’t it a bit weird that coldpaws only 10 moons old and is having a romance with a 24 moon old warrior? thats like a 15 year old crushing on someone in their 20s. is this only a one sided crush…? i don’t ask this to be rude, im just genuinely concerned
at that moment in time, it’s purely a first-time, one-sided crush. i was a bit on the fence about it too, but i can say with confidence that it does work itself out. trust me when i say nothing uncomfortable will be happening between coldpaw and larchmask as of now.
in a technical sense, being moons into the future (i’m at moon 20 right now), i can say the situation works out in its own way. thanks to your concern, i will try and make sure that this is reflected in a respectful tone. Writing this I’m kind of thinking about Firepaw’s initial one-sided crush on Spottedleaf…
in a lore sense, i like to think this isn’t just a crush, but also a “oh my gosh, finally someone else to talk to” kind of situation. coldpaw only had shadestar and lightchaser to rely on for moons so a new face is sure to be popular. plus, i am trying to let her “childish” trait show a bit with more exaggerated emotions and expressions.
i can say in confidence though that coldpaw will be alright and learn better as she goes on. thank you for your concern, its these kinds of questions that will help me make a better story with these characters and a better experience for the readers enjoying them ^^
