Daily Check-in: October 12th, 2023 π
Today has been a lazy yet somewhat decent day? There's not much to complain about. Besides the fact that I didn't do a single homework assignment, I'm exhausted, so that's alright. I did do a decent amount of Japanese studying today though I didn't open up my Genki Textbook like I had wanted to but oh well, there's always tomorrow!
π©· What I Ate Today -
Brunch - Spaghetti with ground Turkey and meat sauce
Dinner - Taco bowl with ground beef, black beans, shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, sour cream, a small dollop of avocado, and red salsa with 1.5 low carb tortillas
Snack - bunny tracks ice cream, 16oz bottle of Dr pepper
Extra - 4? cups of coffee (or 5, I can't remember)
I was not very productive today in terms of academic progress, but I still feel like I did what I could given my energy levels. (and caffiene intake). Did not eat the healthiest, but I listened to my body, and honestly, not every day will be perfect, and that's okay!
π©· Personal Achievements, Oct 12th -

typed up one draft for upcoming blog post
I had heard about an app called Kanji that teaches you kanji based on JLPT Levels, and I actually really like it, so I bought access to all levels for 11$ USD!! feel like that's a fair price for over 2000 kanji, and I'm excited to start expanding my Japanese knowledge. Also, I am trying out the LingQ app. It's pretty interesting and seems useful for reading practice! I don't know why I got such a kick to study japanese but I am not complaining!!

Giving myself a lot of school work to complete tomorrow but that's okay because I have the day off from work so I know I'll be able to get a lot of it done, if not all of it! I'm hoping I sleep decently tonight so I can wake up ready to rule the world tomorrow. My goal is to wake up early, workout, shower, do some makeup and get ready, and be on campus early to get back into the school mindset because I know I've been slacking these last two days. I work a double shift on Saturday, so tomorrow is really the ideal time to finish everything as much as possible.
π©· Song of the Day: Fearless, Jp Version - Le Sserafim
This has been my anthem lately. It's catchy, and I kind of prefer this to the original version in Korean, but that's a bit biased on my end as I am studying Japanese at the moment.
π©· Tomorrow Morning Workout - Pilates
Even if I only finish the first video, I will be proud of myself. It's the effort that counts, and it's definitely gonna be a start! I will be posting an updated current workout schedule with routines soon!!
That's all for now! I will update tomorrow night!

Daily Check-in: October 11th, 2023 π
So I was wat more productive then I had thought i would be given the exhaustion I felt from jet lag. I am proud of what I got done! However, I only slept about 2 hours, and it was broken sleep at that so I am not exactly feeling top of my game at the moment. We'll see what my energy allows me to complete today.
π©· What I Ate, Oct 11th -
Brunch/Lunch - Spaghetti with meat sauce and ground turkey, topped with grated parmesean
Dinner - Turkey & Roast Beef bagel sandwich with avocado, 1 slice muenster cheese, 1 slice cheddar cheese, and a small side of potato chips.
Snack - a half bowl of spaghetti with ground turkey and meat sauce
Extra - 4 cups of coffee, each with one sweet n low and a splash of French vanilla creamer
I actually cooked which is odd for me as I typically don't have energy. My goal for today is to cook a batch of ground beef for taco bowls!

Quiz Chapter 9 Psyc
Culinary chapter 10 Quiz
Consumer Debt Inventiry assignment
Using Credit personal finance assignment
I've put a lot on my to-do list for today, but if I can even get a third of each list done, I will still be very proud of myself. Productivity should not come at the cost of my own well-being. Maybe I'll take a nap today? My boyfriend thinks it's a good idea, but I'm not a big fan of naps regardless of the situation. We shall see.
I took complete advantage of the prime big deals on Amazon and ordered some new workout clothes, some hair accessories, a set of silk pillowcases, and supplies for my bullet journal language tracker/planner. I even bought this cute little journal that's made specifically for fitness and health tracking, as a little side thing of mine to help keep me going! It comes with stickers and already set up pages, so hopefully, it proves to be useful!
I may or may not have made an Ulta order for some makeup using my afterpay account as well, because as it gets colder outside I'm starting to want to wear makeup for fun again. I'm not typically drawn to full beat looks but in the winter I love going all out with my makeup looks, whether I'm doing a more grunge goth emo look or a soft coquette girly look and everything in between. I love makeup as a form of self expression!
May or may not buy some more skincare as well, I'm just trying to decrease the amount of stuff in my skincare cart on the shopping app but it's so hard choosing what to get now and what to wait on!! I'm super indecisive too so that intensified the struggle.
Thats all for today! I'll make sure to update you lovelies tonight/tomorrow!
til next time, lovelies π©·

Daily Check-in: October 5th, 2023 + Life Update π
I swear I always disappear for a few days, lurk around the tumblr app, and then decide to give a random update. I really need to work on my consistency lol.
Anywho, life has been soooo busy. I've ben packing and preparing for my trip out to see my boyfriend tomorrow, trying to catch up on homework so I'm not super busy while I am with him this weekend, working like crazy because money is a necessity, and just keeping up with the day to day grind.
So, here's a mini update from yesterday, and yes I am still going to try to update while I'm with my man as I will still be doing homework and studying Japanese and what not.

I feel like I haven't done as much for myself personally but at the same time like I have? I am a bit upset with myself. I have a meeting with my Dietetian Mentor (#1) and in the last 3 weeks since we last spoke, I haven't done anything from what she had asked because I've been so busy. I've had 2 panic attacks, extreme exhaustion, and worked 3 doubles at my job since I last spoke to her. However, I am planning on working on some of her stuff this weekend while I'll have the time, so hopefully she isn't upset and can understand my position? She seems really nice so fingers crossed.
π©· Academic ToDo For Today -

October Language Goals π
I was thinking of posting a more structured study schedule for studying Japanese, but right now, I don't think that's a good idea because I'm not actually following a strict study routine or schedule. My available time to study varies so much on the day to day so having flexibility in how I study is definitely going to be and has been helpful.
These goals do help give me some useful guidance in how I use my study time, especially when I have a longer amount of time to study.
I am going to add an updated list of resources at the end of this post as I have found a good set of resources that are/will be helping me along this language journey.
complete Genki I lesson 1 + lesson 2
build a flashcard list of 50-75 vocab in AnkiApp (currently 32/75)
learn 10-15 most common phrases/greetings
make a list of common things I say and find their Japanese equivalent
keep a 30+ day streak in Duolingo
keep a 30+ day streak in Busuu
post a speaking exercise per "chapter" in Busuu
test out WaniKani and see if I would like to utilize it as a resource
buy 2 to 5 manga in japanese (for future learning)
finish season 4 of Bungou Stray Dogs (for fun)
begin using AnkiDroid Genki I flashcard set in correspondence with the textbook lessons
start a beginner langblr challenge (either my own or find one to join in on)
I think this is a very doable list of goals given how busy my months and weeks have been. I will have a decent amount of free time, especially if I schedule all of my stuff efficiently. Now, on to a list of current resources!
Duolingo - I know she gets hated on but I love duolingo right now just for some daily practice on days where I have low energy or less time for studying. I turned off the romanji so I'm forcing myself to get more familiar either hiragana and katakana and I just find this app useful for vocab and silly daily practice.
Busuu - ohh, she has my heart right now. I actually bought premium for busuu for one year to give me time to actually use the app and get the most out of it. The audio is a little robotic sounding, but the exercises are helpful. They have speaking exercises that you can post to the community page and get native speakers to correct you! I honestly just love this app, and it also has a streak feature like Duolingo to keep me motivated to do some daily practice.
Renshuu - I still love renshuu as a resource because itβs the only reason I re learned the hiragana and katakana so fast, although I have not being using it as often lately. I still highly recommend the app! I want to keep using it and see how helpful it continues to be!
Language Drops - I like using this one to practice and learn some vocab every now and then. The free version only really lets you do five minutes a day but for a quick vocabulary review, thatβs all I really need!
Genki I + II Textbooks and Workbooks - I've looked through the first lesson in Genki I and I honestly am so excited to use it once I have the time to sit down and study from it. My plan is to take notes from the textbook in my own notebooks, practice the exercises in the textbook and workbook, listen to the dialogue, and lots of flashcards!
Writing workbooks - I want to start using the two I have because I think it'll help me retain my knowledge of hiragana and katakana and even Kanji, once I get to the point where I'm learning Kanji.
Ankidroid/AnkiApp - These are two different apps, but they are both for flashcards. Their functionality is a bit different from each other, but they're still incredibly useful! I make my own flashcards in AnkiApp, but I use decks made by others in Ankidroid. This way I can keep studying what I already know but also can learn other things, if that makes sense? I'm using the Genki I deck on Ankidroid currently as I am preparing to use the Genki I textbook.
Google Keep Notes - I use keep notes to keep a record of my goals, resources, routines, etc. itβs so easy and simple to use and access, so I thought Iβd mention it here
YouTube - I love watching YouTube videos about learning languages, thought Iβm not advanced enough to start watching native Japanese content. Some YouTubers I like for their language tips are Tanya Benavente, Lidie Botes, and Zoe.languages. Thereβs a couple random videos about languages from, oh no Nina and The Bliss Bean, too.
that is all my goals and main current resources for the month of October. Iβm thinking of starting like a language bullet journal, like a bullet journal/language tracking journal for Japanese? But I donβt know if I should? Maybe you guys can vote and give me some motivation to make a decision?
thank you guys! I did manage to complete most of my September goals, so that is definitely keeping me motivated right now! I havenβt had the most energetic of days but I think even a little bit of studying can be beneficial!

Daily Check In - September 28th, 2023 π
did not do much today by my standards but Iβm still recovering from this cold plus my allergies are acting up so Iβve been in bed a lot of today. I did accomplish some things tho so it was not a fully unproductive day for me!
π©· What I Ate Today -
Breakfast - boiled chicken potstickers, hash browns with ketchup, and a coffee
Lunch - bowl of spaghetti with two pieces of buttered bread
Dinner - two slices of dominoes handmade pan pepperoni pizza and three slices of cheese bread
Extra - three more cups of coffee and not near enough water, half a green smoothie made with frozen fruits, spinach, and almond milk
I have not been eating the best recently and I know that, but I think thatβs due to my hormones being messed up at the moment, my current sickness, my extreme fatigue and exhaustion, and a lack of physical activity in my life. However, I decided Iβm going to try to go to the gym and get on the treadmill (maybe do some strength training if Iβm feeling confident enough) at my university activity center at least three days a week so that way I can start getting some of my energy back and gain some more discipline and control in my life. Iβm hoping I get to the point where I can be a runner again, I miss my 8 minute mile time, my running playlist, and how free I felt when Iβd go running. So thatβs a new goal of mine as well! My boyfriend even said we can go jogging together when I see him next weekend, so Iβm looking forward to that for sure!
π©· Personal Accomplishments -
Did the dishes
Brought my laundry from the dryer to my room (have yet to put away clean clothes)
Night time skincare
Studied Duolingo/Busuu for ~20 minutes
Skimmed through first Genki lesson in preparation for actually studying from the textbook
Showered and washed my hair
made a tentative workout schedule in google calendar for next week
π©· Academic Accomplishments -
completed and submitted extended assignment for psychology class
completed and submitted lab report for anatomy lab
began paper set up for first section of research study paper for psychology class
again, not a super productive day but Iβm still happy with it. I got a decent amount of stuff done and I have some stuff I want to accomplish tomorrow, which I will list below.
π©· Academic Goals for Tomorrow, Sept 29th -
Complete a rough draft of first section of research study paper before 10am psychology lab
Begin taking notes for module six for my health for sport and fitness class
Complete practical assignment for health for sport and fitness class
~20 minutes japanese study using apps
π©· Personal Goals for Tomorrow, Sept 29th -
Morning and Night skincare
morning and night guided journal
work on content for RD mentor instagram
Go to bed by 10pm (be asleep by that time!!!)
Drink at least one liter of water
Only two cups of caffeine
Donβt buy anything from the university food court!
wake up early <3
not the most specific personal goals but still things that I know I can achieve! Iβm super tired and itβs not even that late and I havenβt done much this week. Thatβs how I know I made the right decision to take time for myself. always have your own best interest at heart, in a positive and healthy way! Donβt push past your limits and donβt let yourself burn out! Itβs easier said than done but taking care of yourself is so important! Thatβs something I need to continually remind myself!

Study Japanese using apps (Anki, Duolingo, Busuu, Renshuu, etc) 15-30 minutes
Drink 1-2 liters of water
Iβm going to definitely try to accomplish everything I have planned for tomorrow, I think itβll make me feel better to get so much done. Most of my homework isnβt actually due until Sunday evening or Monday evening but I figure getting it done earlier will be better for when I get off work this weekend. Iβm hoping to catch up and work ahead on stuff a little bit so that way Iβm not struggling next weekend. Iβm actually going to go see my boyfriend next weekend for about three full days, which Iβm excited for because I havenβt seen him in person in three months. (Thank you 1000+ miles of distance haha)
thatβs all for now!

Check In - September 25th & 26th, 2023 π
these last two days have not been at all like I wouldβve liked them to be. I started getting sick on Monday night and now thatβs exactly what happened, I am sick and very unhappy about it. Luckily I think itβs just a cold this time but I always dislike getting sick. Iβm not going to inicie a What I Ate in this check in because I genuinely donβt remember at the moment what I ate on Monday and Tuesday. this will just be a what Iβve accomplished post.
π©· Personal Accomplishments -
went to bed at a decent time
Left work early to take care of myself
Morning skincare
Japanese Duolingo/Busuu for 15 minutes
π©· Academic Accomplishments -
Completed module 5 notes for health and sport class
Completed module 5 quiz for health and sport class
Completed stocks assignment for personal finance class
Started notes for chapter 6 for my psyc class
I mentioned that I went home early from work on Monday and that was due to having a full blown panic attack in the work office in front of my supervisor. I think I had been stressed about school stuff and when I felt myself getting sick I just panicked and ended up with a near debilitating attack. Iβm so grateful for my supervisor, she talked me down from the panic attack and then let me go home because she saw how it was affecting me. I love my work family.
π©· Personal Accomplishments -
Took time off school due to being ill + last nights panic attack
Showered + night skincare
Made myself dinner
Relaxed and overall had a good day
Japanese Duolingo p/Busuu 15 minutes

Completed my mid term presentation and turned it in before the due date
Reached out to my Psyc Professor about an extension for a Psyc assignment
did not do much on Tuesday due to low energy and just wanting and needing to take care of myself a little bit. Iβm still sick as of right now and still planning on taking it easy to help both mind and body recover,
this was not the update I had hoped on giving but I still wanted to keep you all in the loop as to whatβs going on with me. I appreciate all the kind words Iβve received from you guys. Your encouragement and kindness is one of the reasons I keep up with this blog and have the motivation to be open and honest.

Mini Update & Check-in: September 24th, 2023 π
Hi my lovelies!
I haven't posted in a little over a week, a week and a halfish I think? I have been so busy with work, school, my mentorships, and studying Japanese all while being informed of a trip to see my boyfriend in about 2 weeks, trying to sleep more then 5 hours a night, and incorporating more self care into my routine. I've been a little spread thin.
I had about 5 crying breakdowns in the last 2.5 weeks due to stress and exhaustion and overwhelm, but after this week, everything should calm down and go back to normal (at least I hope?)
Here's some updates on my life:
I've been consistently studying Japanese on both duolingo and busuu, with the occasional use of renshuu as a tool. I created a study plan for using Genki I and have a list of goals for October that I will post by the end of the week! I actually bought a year of busuu premium cause I really like the app!
I have a presentation for my Food Fundamentals class due Tuesday by 2pm and its Sunday night and I haven't started because I'm so busy. But the threat of the dealine will push me into gear, so at the very least I know I'll get it done.
I get to go see my boyfriend in 2 weeks! His mom bought my flight tickets for there and back, and I get to see him for 4 days. I haven't seen him in 3 months in person, so I am incredibly excited! + it'll be a mini vacation from work and kinda from school, too, at least from my Monday and Tuesday classes.
I have been the most moody and irritable that I've been in a while due to my hormones being messed up (thank you, depo shot window for opening and reminding me to order my depo meds!), lack of sleep, overconsumption of caffiene, and a minor neglect of my mental health
I do see all the lovely things you guys send to my inbox, and I see everything I get tagged in. I apologize for not responding, I've been busy, and I honestly get so awkward with not knowing how to respond or what to say. But I am not ignoring you all, and I am so grateful for how kind and sweet you all have been. It makes my day every time I check my tumlr and see new things I've been sent. You all are so amazing and kind, and I am so very thankful for all the support and encouragement you guys send!
So that's just a little snippet of my life recently. I promise I will start updating a bit more regularly this week once things calm down. I miss posting my updates and my goals and sharing my thoughts with all of you. This blog has given me such a safe space to be my authentic self, and I'm so extremely grateful for this community and all 500+ of you guys!!
I think I'll post an update for Monday the 25th and Tuesday the 26th combined, and then I'll do each day following separately (that's my goal for now). I'm also going to be sharing my *tentstive* Japanese study schedule using Genki I textbook and workbook, my Japanese goals for the month of October, and I'm still working on that stationery review list as well!!
Thank you all!!! I love you guys so much π
Til next time lovelies!! π©·
This seems like a cute idea! Go for it, to anyone who feels like it! Thank you, lovelies π©·

Daily Check In September 15th and 16th, 2023 π
I was a bit stressed on Friday. And really tired. Like crying on the phone talking to my dad about how tired I was. I did not want to go to work, but I did and had a goodnight regardless. Everything worked itself out and I stopped stressing so hard. I was gonna rest before I had to go to work but my friend decided to talk my ear off for an hour about her family woes, even after I told her I wanted to rest my brain for a bit. I love helping my friends when I can but sometimes I just need a break from socializing.
thereβs not much to update on but Iβll give an update regardless!
π©· What I Ate Sept 15th -
Breakfast - bagel sandwich and a coffee
Lunch - bagel w whipped cream cheese and another coffee
Dinner - Alfredo pasta w spinach and chicken and a small salad w egg, cheese, and a little ranch dressing
Extra - morning coffee at home and not near enough water. Also some mini mint chocolate candies, like three
I was really feeling bagels. They were so good.
π©· What I Ate Sept 16th -
Breakfast - Scrambled eggs on brioche style bread with slices of cheddar cheese
Dinner - Two bowls of spaghetti with marinara sauce and grated Parmesan cheese
Snack - macaroni cup, three cups of coffee
I just realized I didnβt take a break to eat lunch at work today. That is the first time Iβve ever forgotten to do that.
π©· What I Accomplished Sept 15th & 16th -
Worked a total of 13.5 hours at my job
A lot of self compassion and rest
Morning skincare and night skincare routine (sept 16th)
Studied Japanese 10+ minutes each day
Reorganized my desk with my new desk supplies
I received some new acrylic desk organizers, stationery, and Japanese study books today! I bought two writing workbooks and I bought the Genki I and Genki II textbook + workbook + answer key bundle off of Amazon and I am so excited to start using them all soon! In my Japanese studying so far, Iβve memorized almost the entire hiragana chart and started keeping a physical list/anki flashcard set of hiragana vocabulary off of Duolingo and have been practicing my writing on Renshuu. Renshuu is surprisingly such a great tool for me right now, like itβs the complete reason I memorized the hiragana so fast. My plan is to start using Genki I right after I memorize (most of) the katakana. Iβve been listening to Japanese music a lot and talking out loud to myself on occasion. Iβm just super excited about this language.
I think Iβm quickly approaching the edge of burnout right now and Iβm desperately trying to find a way to delay the burnout or stop myself from burning out altogether because I have too much on my plate to just lose myself now. Like Iβm genuinely enjoying everything I do in a day but itβs tiring me out. I donβt sleep very well right now, Iβm not working out, my nutrition isnβt the best, I over-consume caffeine and Iβve been neglecting my self care. I am working to regain balance because I donβt want to tire myself while trying to build the best life for myself. Todays first step was keeping my promise to do skincare and study Japanese. Tomorrow will be skincare, weekly planning, and completing my due assignments and notes. If I can rebuild trust with myself, I have a good feeling I can get back on track with my daily ideal routines. Just need to take it one step at a time.
I know my blog appears that everything is so great and girly and perfect for me but my life is not like that entirely. I do romanticize my life in the way I live it, I am the main character if my own story, but life is life and stuff happens. I donβt have the perfect body or health, I donβt have the best discipline or motivation sometimes, and yeah, my life isnβt perfect. However, I am still so grateful for the life I am currently living, a life that I never thought Iβd be so content with. This blog has helped me determine the direction to go in and keeps me motivated often, and I am so at peace and proud of all that Iβve built and have had help creating for myself. Thank you to everyone who reads this. It is the little interactions, the daily notifications, the pride I get from my consistent updates that keeps me level. This is therapeutic for me in a way. Like an online diary. And I absolutely love the space itβs given me to be my true self, my most comfortable self. I am not perfect but i am happy. Happy with my progress and my journey and my community.
Sorry for the little joyful ramble. Again, I appreciate this community so much. I wouldnβt have driven my life in this path without this community.
π©· Song of The Day - The Greatest by Sia
One of my all time favorite motivational songs. Just listen to the lyrics. Absolutely simple and amazingly powerful.
thatβs all for these last two days! Will be getting more detailed in my daily accomplishments, and am working on a stationary review though I did order more so I might way until it gets here to complete the review post!

Daily Check-in Septmeber 14th, 2023 π
This was a good day. Busy, absolutely, but good nonetheless. Had a meeting with my 1st dietetics mentor, and she was absolutely the sweetest and sent me an email after our meeting about the projects she wants me to work on currently, as her mentee. Cannot wait to meet my 2nd mentor next week! Also, I got asked to go into work, so I pulled a 6.5-hour shift when I didn't need to, but I need money so it's worth it.
π©· What I Ate Today -
Breakfast - tuna w mayo and crackers
Lunch - iced coffee, chicken parm, noodles, one garlic bread, some asparagus
Dinner - chik fil a sandwich, medium fries, polynesian sauce
Extra - 3 more coffees in addition to the one I had at lunch
I am overconsuming caffiene so much right now, but I have been understandably so tired, so it's definitely helping me get through my days and weeks right now. I also genuinely enjoy the taste of the coffee I make, so that's always fun. I did just but a matcha set online, so hopefully, I can learn to make my own matcha and cut back on coffee for a bit.
π©· Personal Achievements -
Attended RD meeting
Had my therapy appointment
Planned out part of my upcoming week/weekend
Studied Japanese for ~15 min
I did not accomplish almost anything school related, but that's okay because I'll have the time to do it all this weekend after work both days.
π©· Todo for Today -
take Fitness For Health and Sport lecture notes
call embroidery place about dropping off my cooking class's chef coat
Video call with my boyfriend
Complete my Sample nutrition log assignment + submit it (if I have the time)
Study Japanese 10+ minutes
Because of how busy my schedule has been, I've been studying Japanese daily about 10 to 15 minutes a day. I'm starting to remember the hiragana characters pretty well so I've started jotting down vocabulary in a mini notebook.
π©· Song of the Day - Social Path by Stray Kids, LiSa
This song is on repeat right now. I've always loved both their music and now that they've collabed, I'm on cloud 9. They're voices all sound so good in this song.
That's all for now! Will not be updating the 15th due to working the night shift at my job but will update for the 15th and 16th on Saturday night!

Daily Check-in September 13th, 2023 π
So yesterday was absolutely one of the most productive days I have ever had, and I swear I enjoyed it so much. I got so much done, so much planned out, and I'm super happy. I also just got paid, so I bought some Japanese language learning resources, some desk organizer stuff for my ne stationery, and... some more new stationery. I can't help it, I love it all!!
π©· What I Ate Today -
Breakfast - small bowl of boiled frozen chicken dumplings
Lunch - Leftover homemade cheeseburger and fries
Dinner - Mac and Cheese, Quesadilla
Snacks - rest of Mac and cheese
Extra - 4 cups of coffee
It has been a struggle staying awake some days so I do tend to over indulge in my coffee. It's so yummy. I also bought a matcha set so maybe I'll learn to make my own matcha drinks now and I'll cut back on the coffee?
π©· Personal Achievements -
Swept bedroom/bathroom
Replacd old carpets with new ones
Replaced old shower liner with new one
Replaced old fitted bed sheet with new one
Organized my desk more efficiently
Washed dishes
Dyed my hair a bit again
Did a load of laundry
Put away ALL laundry in room

I got just about everything on my to do list done in my room yesterday! I am super proud of myself for getting it all done. None of it was hard or took long but I had been procrastinating it so I'm just happy it got done.
π©· Academic Achievements -
Completed and passed NUTR Exam 1
Completed and passed Culinary Quiz Ch 6
Completed and submitted Meal Three Writing Assignment
I didn't do any note taking yesterday cause I was on a video call with my boyfriend for most of the day on my Ipad, and my ipad is how I take notes. Since I don't have much to do today, I figured it'd be a good time to take some notes, watch my lecture videos, and read some textbook chapters.
π©· To Do List for Today -
Read Ch 11 for Personal finance class + take notes
Watch Fitness For Health and Sport online lectures + take notes
Complete my Sample Nutrition Log assignment + submit it
Study Japanese 15+ min
Clean Bathroom
Attend RD mentorship meeting
Therapy
Extra Credit Meeting + mini writing assignment
I don't want to have to do too much today because I do have three separate meetings to get done today, and I believe this meeting with my first RD mentor is going to kickstart this program for me and add more to my plate. I have a meeting with my second RD mentor next week, so my schedule is gonna get very busy.
π©· Song of the Day - Are You Satisfied by MARINA
This is a good motivational song for me to keep me on track with all my responsibilities. I love music so much, what would I do without it?
That's all for now, lovelies! Trying to get back into a self care routine is definitely a top priority right now, so expect some of that to be sprinkled into my updates again as I start becoming more successful with implementing it!

Daily Check-in September 11th and 12th, 2023 π
Did not have the time to make one yesterday as I didn't get home til almost 11 pm and was so tired that i immediately passed out. I had a really good day today(Tuesday), tho! I ordered a bunch of stationery off of Stationery Pal and Kawaii pen shop, and ahhhh, I love all of it, and they BOTH came in less than a week after I placed my order. The quality of everything is *chefs kiss* and I am so excited to start using all this stuff in my university academics as well as my self study goals! I might even switch back to paper notes because of all the stuff I bought, who knows.
Will not include What I Ate as I honestly don't remember, I am very tired at the moment(Tuesday night), having run most of today with 3 hours of sleep. This check in is going to be a bit more on the self care self compassion side as I had a rough two days honestly.
π©· Personal Achievements -
Washed my hair
Made it to both classes on time
Organized my new stationery in my desk
Cooked steak *actually* good in my food fundamentals class
π©· Academic Achievements -

Completed NUTR assignment
Completed pre lab quiz for my Anatomy Lab
Completed Osmosis lab report
Earned my Human Subjects Research Training certificate for my PSYC class
(Iβm certified to use human subjects in research studies at my university for the next 3 years now, how cool!?)
Should I make a post about the stationery I got? Like a haul/review post? Let me know what you think! Itβs all pretty aesthetic so I would love to share my opinions on the quality of the stuff I boughtβ¦.and I bought a lot of stuff without realizing it!
π©· As of today, Wednesday September 13th, hereβs a little academic todo list for today:

Take my bedroom trash out, throw out package box
Clean bathroom completely
Sweep bedroom
Organize desk more efficiently
Wash my current dirty laundry
Put away previous clean laundry

Throw out old carpets and replace with new ones
Follow my skincare routine (my face is begging to be taken care of again)
Possibly hang up my string lights with clips behind my desk and attach BTS photos to clips π
Budget for paycheck tomorrow
This check in was definitely a little different than the others, especially cause I started it last night but had to save it as a draft cause I nearly fell asleep while typing it up. I will definitely post an update tonight to see how much of my to do lists I accomplished! Looking forward to having today to myself, as I didnβt go to class due to the extreme rain weβre having (I walk to my campus as I do not driveβ¦at all) and Iβm completely home alone today! Let the productivity begin!

Language Learning Goals π
because Iβm just starting out trying to re learn and familiarize myself with the Japanese language again, it was hard for me to think of current goals I might want to achieve, and what time frame Iβd want to achieve them in. I think I will begin posting a monthly goals list because as I learn more of the language, my goals are definitely going to change. Right now I have my long term goals for Japanese and then some short term daily/monthly goals!
conversational fluency - I want to be able to have comprehensible conversations with native Japanese speakers, and be able to understand what they say and also be able to speak the language myself
understand Japanese media - I want to be able to listen to music and watch Japanese YouTubers and Anime without subtitles
understand spoken/written Japanese - again, I want to be able to know what other people are saying in this beautiful language and also be able to read it to some extent.
My main goals long term are to travel to different parts of Japan in the coming future so being able to speak, understand, and read japanese are my biggest concerns but Iβd also like to have that knowledge of writing the characters and knowing proper stroke order too, just for fun and education!
Use one type of media as a passive learning tool (music, tv shows, YouTube, anime)
Study Flashcards 2-3 times (currently using my hiragana Flashcards I made on Anki)
Minimum of 2 Duolingo lessons
Practice writing the characters in an app (again, currently re learning hiragana)
1 other app lesson used as a supplemental learning tool (renshuu, Bunpo, LingoDeer, drops, etc)
My daily goals are a bit broad as this is typically what I want to do on a day to day basis for about a month of two, and then I will incorporate using textbooks, workbooks, notebooks, and really dive into the self studying and learning more structurally.
Memorize hiragana characters
Begin learning basic vocabulary (~30 vocabulary words by end of month)
Begin studying katakana characters (make Flashcards, use apps, etc)
Practicing speaking and pronunciation skills (shadow speak: use YouTube and some tv shows)
Practice realistic listening skills (YouTube videos, tv shows, anime)
Purchase Genki I and Genki II workbook and textbook + Answer Key and chart bundle
Kept a minimum of a 7 - 10 day streak on Duolingo
Joined Japanese club at my university
These are my current goals for the month of September! As the weeks continue, i will assess my progress and build new monthly goals depending on my current progress levels. Iβm really excited to be doing this and sharing this journey with everyone. The biggest thing about why I made this blog the way I did was to keep myself accountable for my goals and that is exactly what I plan on doing; reaching my goals!
I so deeply appreciate the encouragement and support you all show me on a consistent basis! It means so much to have this community to keep me accountable and just help keep me on track with my goals but also remind me to be kind to myself! You guys are absolutely amazing <3
Im gonna post a combined daily update for today and yesterday later tonight!

Daily Check-in September 10, 2023 π
I am so tired!!! This weekend has worn me out. I worked almost 9 hours on Friday, 13 hours on Saturday, and about 6 hours today, and I'm scheduled for another 9 hours at my job tomorrow. I'm so happy that I'm getting money for the things I need to buy but I'm so tired now.
Anywho, onto today's breakdown:
π©· What I Ate Today:
Brunch - Two cheese breadsticks and half a slice of pepperoni pizza w 8oz of Dr pepper
After Work - One bowl of spicy Ramen w some fiesta blend cheese mixed in
Dinner - One home grilled cheeseburger and some baked French fries w ketchup and a can of Dr pepper
Extra - Three cups of coffee and a lot of water
It's not my best, but I'm tired, and I needed the energy. Hopefully, I can have something healthy tomorrow, like a smoothie or something for breakfast.
π©· Personal Goals Achieved Today -
Did two loads of laundry (did not put away yet)
Showered and washed hair after work
Took out my trash (bedroom and bathroom)
Washed pillowcases and put back on my pillows
Planned out the upcoming week
Planned tomorrow mornings workout!!
I am planning on easing back into working out now that my back feels better. I'm trying to focus on some easier workouts that won't make it easy to re injure myself. I'm so excited to get back into my routine for the morning!
π©· Productive Academic Accomplishments -
took and passed my PSYC Ch 3 Quiz
Passed the first 6/16 modules for a training certificate for my PSYC class
Almost completed my PSYC Chapter 3 Notes
Planned out homework for the week
π©· Song of the Day - Workin Hard by Fujii Kaze
I was recommended to check this song out by a fellow blog, and it was the best decision I made, I absolutely love this song!! I would tag them, but I'm so sleepy that I don't wanna tag the wrong one!
I feel like today was definitely a good day to go easy on myself, work and productivity wise. I didn't want to stress myself out and I was successful, I think. Still trying to get my nutrition in order but it will all come together in time. I'm here for the journey to my best self, not some end goal. I never want to stop improving myself or learning.
I'm falling asleep as I type this, but I will be posting about my Japanese language goals tomorrow so stay tuned!

Current Japanese Study Routine + Resources π
As you all may know, I am currently self studying Japanese and Spanish, though I am putting Spanish on the back burner for now so I can focus more on Japanese as that is where my passion lies at the moment. Lucky for me, there is a Japanese language and culture club on my university campus that I am (hopefully) going to join next week or the week after, given how busy my schedule ends up being. I thought Iβd make a little post about my current routine that I use to study and what resources I am currently using and am planning on purchasing to use in order to build my proficiency in this beautiful language!
Current Resources π©·
Apps - I am currently playing around with several apps to see which ones work for me, so here is all the apps I currently have downloaded to my iPad/phone
Duolingo - this has been a go to for all language Iβve ever tried to learn, itβs useful for me as a basic introduction to vocabulary, sentence structure, some grammar, and I just like how it involves typing, speaking, listening, and reading.
Drops - this one is just a fun little 5 minutes gamified way to learn vocabulary for me, itβs definitely a go to on my lazier language learning days
Bunpo - I like this for learning the kana but I didnβt realize it costs money to use fully so I am debating purchasing a subscription to the paid version
Write Japanese - this one Iβm using to learn the correct stroke order for the kana and I like it for the most part
Renshuu - I just signed in to use this one last night and it looks interesting. Iβve seen it recommended by several blogs and even when google searching language learning and watching YouTube videos so Iβm excited to try it out!
NHK for School - I saw someone recommend this on their blog and I remember using the website version in the past so I know this will be helpful when it comes to reading
Jisho - this is a dictionary app that Iβve seen recommended on so many platforms and Iβm always open to a good dictionary!
Japanese - this one was recommended on a blog post and it allows you to add vocabulary and interesting phrases so I thought itβd be useful once I start on learning sentence structure and grammar
Italki - this one is the one Iβm most excited to use. It connects you to people who speak and teach your target language for a set timed lesson, and it does cost money but you pay by lesson, not on a subscription basis. So if you do one lesson the first week and then another lesson in three weeks or something, you only pay for those two lessons. Iβm really looking forward to trying this one out in the future once I get more comfortable with speaking.
Anki - a flash card app I am using to currently learn hiragana and will soon use for katakana and eventually kanji and phrases. I was gonna use Quizlet but I ended up liking this one better for my current needs.
LingoDeer, Memrise, Babbel, HiNative, HelloTalk, Hey Japan, Busuu, Kanji, Kana, Sensei - apps that I have and have not tried yet. I really like the ones Iβve already tried so Iβm not sure if Iβm going to use these ones soon but if I get bored of current apps than I at least have alternatives to turn to to continue learning
Textbooks/Workbooks/Materials - I currently own two workbooks but will include the resource I am planning on buying, as well as any stationery material I am also using!
Japanese for Busy People I - This was the workbook we had for the Japanese class I took at my university while in high school. My dad ended up buying it for me if I promised not to take Japanese classes once I went to college. (My parents donβt believe it is useful to know and they are helping pay for my education so I didnβt have a choice.) I havenβt started reusing it yet but once I am comfortable with the kana then I will resume using it.
Letβs Learn Katakana - this is a katakana writing book my older brother bought for me (he is supportive of everything I have an interest in even if he doesnβt understand it himself) and it is really useful for learning and practicing writing katakana. However I am still focusing on relearning hiragana so I will return to this workbook after I solidify my hiragana knowledge.
Genki I and Genki II textbook/workbook + answer key bundle - I am planning to buy this off of Amazon as I have heard from most people who are learning Japanese on their own that this set is really useful for self studying so of course I am going to invest in it once I get paid next week.
I am also looking for a hiragana, katakana, and kanji writing workbook to practice those skills.
Free Online Resources -
YouTube!
Anime!
Music
Manga
Anything free I can find online when google searching resources
Stationary Supplies -
Kokuyo Campus Smart Ring Binder in pink
Tombow Fudenosuke Brush Pens in black
Index cards
Pilot g-2 fashion pens
Zebra mild liner highlighter/markers
Papermate Mechanical Pencils
Mini notebook to carry around for vocabulary
My iPad + Apple Pencil + Goodnotes 5
My Chromebook
A lot of resources but I am trying to stick with this for the long term. A few years ago, I self studied Japanese everyday for about 2 years and gained a good understanding but fell off from studying Japanese when I went to university.
My Current Study Routine* π
*when I have more than 30 minutes to study, if I only have 30 minutes or less I just mess around on my language apps
I currently do not use any workbooks or textbooks as I am trying to re familiarize myself with the language. Hereβs my current study routine!
Practice Anki flashcards 3 times or until I get 85-90% correct
Practice hiragana writing in Write Japanese app (~10min)
Duolingo lessons for 10 minutes
1 Japanese language Drops lesson
Use Renshuu until I get bored (~10-15min)
Watch an episode of anime as a reward (Japanese audio with English subtitles)
I will switch this up to a more structured way of studying once I start using my textbooks and workbooks, but for now this relaxed style of learning is working for me time wise and attention wise (ADHD brain right here).
I also listen to Japanese music throughout the day and try to recall hiragana characters correctly in my head when I have the time. I also sneak in some practice when at work on my apps and whatnot. I mentioned in my last daily check in some of my favorite Japanese artists, and I also love Japanese versions of K-pop songs too! Iβm currently watching Bungou Stray Dogs on crunchyroll right now, and Iβm open to any recommendations for what to watch next!
If anyone has any language learning tips or resources theyβd want to share, feel free to comment! It would be greatly appreciated!

Daily Check-in September 7th, 2023 π
Today was...not the most productive day for me if I'm being honest. When I'm using my Ipad to video call my boyfriend, I can't take notes like I want to, so I end up feeling like I'm behind on my homework. I'm genuinely thinking about buying a second Ipad to keep my personal life and academic life separate. I have a 2nd Ipad, but it's with my boyfriend, 1000+ miles away. My university sells one online for 300$ USD so I might buy it when I get paid next week.
π©· What I Ate Today -
Breakfast - leftover burritos with taco bell Diablo sauce
Lunch - spicy ramen with shredded fiesta blend cheese
Dinner - McDonald's
Snacks - one mint choco chip yasso bar, two cups of coffee with creamer
Not my healthiest eating day but I have been incredibly stressed so I turned to easy, greasy comfort food though all its done is upset my stomach. Tomorrow will be better.
π©· Personal Habits/Goals I Achieved -
nightly skincare routine
studied Japanese for 10ish minutes
took out my bedroom trash
made a workout plan for the week
made a goal setting plan for working out
got in touch with one of my two assigned registered dietitian mentors
got my three week grown acrylics soaked off professionally
I'm hoping to implement the workout routine tomorrow, but I want to take it slow ish because I'm still recovering from a back injury and whiplash from last week so fingers crossed I don't irritate the injury! Also, I'm super excited to be a dietitian mentee. The one dietitian I'm in contact with currently is absolutely the sweetest!
π©· Academic Achievements -
finished my Fitness For Health and Sport module 3 notes
posted my discussion post and one classmate response for the same course
completed and passed the module quiz for the same class
completed and passed my Food Fundamentals Chapter 5 Quiz
planned for the next few upcoming days
My job has me scheduled for ~35 hours Friday thru Monday, so I am going to be so tired this weekend, but I need the money because I have rent to pay, I want to buy a Genki 1 & 2 Textbook and Workbook + Answer key & hiragana/sentence chart (and some other resources), I want some more stationary, and I need to buy more groceries soon. I am also planning to buy another Ipad, and add some language app subscriptions to my arsenal of language resources for my lazy days.
π©· Song of the Day - TT Japanese vr by Twice
I love that there are so many Japanese versions of kpop songs that I absolutely love, so this way I can passively listen to the language while enjoying music! There's also a ton of J-pop songs I'm currently in love with. Some of my favorite j-pop artists are liSa, Kenshi Yonezu, YOASOBI, Fuji Kaze, Suda Masaki, Ado, etc.
I did not workout today, I did not do morning skincare, and I did not make my bed. I am planning on getting back on track tomorrow. I appreciate this platform and my followers who help me want to stay on track. I appreciate all 300+ of you <3
Til next time, lovelies π©·
Update To My Posts/Blog & Daily Check Ins π
So, when I first started this blog about two months ago, I had planned on using it as a way to stay accountable towards things like weight loss and my health journey. That was in the summer, when I had the time to solely focus on that as my top priority. Now, with school having started, my weeks, even my days are so much busier now. I am currently working over 30+ hours a week at my job, taking on 17 credit hours at my university, joining a club on campus, and am now under the mentorship of two separate registered dieticianβs all while self studying two languages, keeping up with a self care routine, socializing with friends, doing homework outside of class time, and beginning a workout routine again as I recover from a semi serious back injury.
All that being said, I would really like to incorporate a little bit from every aspect of my life into this tumblr blog. I am still keeping my pink, girly, kpop aesthetic, because I absolutely adore it, but I am going to add on some different topics of interest into my daily check ins. I will continue with the what I eat in a day, habits I accomplished, any workouts or movement I did, and a song of the day, but I will also add in productive/school goals I achieved (such as how long I studied, how much schoolwork I finished, language learning stuff, etc), and just overall stuff about my daily life as a semi high achieving university student!
I will be posting a check in for today later tonight! It will include what I ate, what I did personal wise, school/productive stuff I did, a song of the day, and just an overall update on what I did today! I just need to get my format of how I want to write out everything figured out.
Til next time lovelies! π©·π€
Updated* Current Goals/Habits I Wish To Achieve π
I have added and removed some daily goals and habits from my first posted list, so I thought Iβd post an updated list of my goals and habits!
Workout 20+ Minutes Daily
Daily walks OR 10,000 steps a day
Drink 100oz of water daily
Read 30+ min or 10+ pages daily
Skincare routine AM and PM
Journal AM and PM
Make bed every morning
Study a language 10+ minutes daily
Sleep 6 - 8 hours nightly
Practice a hobby 10+ minutes daily
The two languages I am currently focusing on studying are Spanish and Japanese, the two languages I love the most. Once I get more comfortable with Japanese, I do plan on picking up Korean, as that is my third favorite. I used to self study Japanese for two years and even took a university Japanese class but had to stop and havenβt picked it up. Spanish is useful for where I live and I also think it is a beautiful language, and Iβve taken university classes for Spanish but due to my personal situations at the time, I wasnβt successful in those classes. I do currently have my Japanese textbook from my previous class as well as two Spanish textbooks from my previous classes.
Some hobbies I am trying to get back into is drawing and reading, and I am looking into starting some other hobbies such as crochet, cooking, scrapbooking/bullet journaling, painting, photography, learning sign language, and as I mentioned, language learning,
If anyone has any language learning (self study) tips or resources, tips and resources for any of the mentioned hobbies, or any general motivation or encouragement you want to share, please feel free! It would be greatly appreciated!
I know realistically I will not accomplish everything I listed every single day but the goal ultimately is to make an honest effort and keep my priorities in line with my daily actions. I am going to consistently work on myself and guide my daily routines towards progress and productivity while still giving myself the rest and recovery I need.
Thank you all!

Mini Update September 3rd, 2023 π
Hey girlies! I was genuinely planning on restarting my routine last week but I ended up falling really bad on Wednesday and ended up with a moderately injured lower back and shoulders, whiplash, a skinned right knee, right wrist pain, and I have had trouble walking due to my ankles being the reason why I fell in the first place. (thank you pink platform vans)
I have also had to work at my semi-physically demanding job while injured so I had to buy pain patches and a heating pad and pain medication. Safe to say I have not been having fun.
I am going to restart my morning routine, my skincare routine, and all of my current goals (including some new ones - I'll post an updated goals/routine list soon!) and I plan on starting all this tomorrow as it's the beginning of a month and tomorrow is a Monday so i feel like it's the right timing alignment to push me into gear!
I've honestly fell off of doing my skincare, journaling, workouts, and waking up early overall. So I'm going to start out small, and once I'm physically healed, I'm going to incorporate more workouts and movement into my routine. So for now, school, nutrition, and my health are still priorities but in a different plan of action!
Thank you, guys, for sticking by me through my periods of inactivity, but I check my app every day, and I really appreciate you guys!
this blog is going to be more active, and I think I'll start posting some studyblr content as well since I am a student and want to stay accountable for that too!
here's the song that's been on repeat in my playlist!! I love this song!
til next time, lovelies!! π©·π©·π©·
Do you have any study tips for people who find it hard to concentrate for long periods of time, or just struggle to even sit down and focus?
Hi! I'm so sorry for the late answer, I've been busy with classwork, curating my schedule for the next few weeks, and just life in general.
I myself struggle to sit down and focus and have trouble concentrating for long periods of time. Everyone works differently and some things may not be helpful to everyone, just a disclaimer!
Something I do that really helps me is to have a set "ritual" I do every time I need to or at least know I need to do school work or productive things that I personally want to do.
My current "ritual" includes the following, in order:
Make a cup of my preferred drink (currently iced coffee with one sweet n low and French vanilla creamer) + grab a glass or bottle of water
Set out all my necessary materiales (studying ex: textbooks, stationary, technology, planner, etc)
Take a deep breath
Write out a todo list that is managable for what I want/need to accomplish
Flick on my desk lamp
Begin the first step for the first talk (open textbook, go to website, write out note title, etc)
My brain got into the habit of "lamp flicks on, sip of coffee, time to work" and it became very automated.
Lately, I've tried to spread out my necessary tasks out throughout a week (within necessary due dates) with daily planning for flexibility of my schedule and whatever things pop up. I believe being flexible with scheduling tasks helps a lot because sometimes I have more energy on some days than others, and other times, I need to allocate energy to other priorities.
For concentrating for long periods of time, I try to figure out my limits, and do whatever I can to work with myself and not against myself. I have severe unmedicated ADHD (as well as other things mentally) and I've learned to listen to my brain and body as best I can.
I can not concentrate if my phone is not near me or within eyesight when I study. I will be too preoccupied thinking about my phone and any missed notifications if I can't see my phone. Answering texts and calls while doing homework does not interfere with my productivity as it takes me a few seconds to type out a message and hit send or answer a call and listen/explain that I'm busy. (it's usually my dad who calls me, and I have no problem stopping my work to talk to my dad).
I need caffiene to give me that push to start. Once I taste my coffee, I know it's time to crack down on my assignments and start focusing on my work.
Background noise!! Very rarely can I listen to music when working at home, so I usually have a comfort show or some youtube video playing in the background while I do work. When I'm on campus, I listen to a specific playlist while doing schoolwork, usually more mellow music like Lana Del Ray, The Neighborhood, Chase Atlantic, MARINA, Mitski, Arctic Monkeys, Mother Mother, Cigarettes After Sex, beebadoobee, Taylor Swift etc. I normally listen to K-pop, but my favorite songs are too upbeat for getting work done.
I try not to watch the clock or set a timer because I never really know how long some assignments will take and if I'm watching the time pass I tend to get anxious and then my mind will wander from the task at hand.
Water!! I have to remind myself all the time, but having water at my desk or study area keeps me hydrated, which keeps me focused and awake.
I try not to eat big meals right before I do work. If I do eat something substantial before I need to work, I always wait 30 to 60 minutes so I can perk back up and properly focus on my work.
Never push past my physical energy limits. If I'm falling asleep at my desk, if I'm yawning uncontrollably, if my body feels heavy with fatigue, I will not push myself past exhaustion as that is no longer healthily productive.
Sleep is a priority!! If I'm sleepy and tired and groggy, I can't work properly. When I'm low on sleep, I also tend to over do the caffiene and overeat, which makes me both uncontrollably anxious and shaky while also making me more lethargic, thus inhibiting my work ability.
Listening to my body and learning how I work best has been the most helpful in my concentration and productivity abilities. I know when I'm feeling off, how to determine what I need in order to feel more regulated and functional. Good, healthy habits and a little self intuition go a long way for me.
I hope this was helpful in some way. I didn't want to give generic or basic tips because this is not a one size fits all topic. I'm open to any other questions!!
Til next time, lovelies!! π©·
Mini Check In August 19, 2023 π
So I haven't gotten tested because it's the weekend for me, but based on my current symptoms, there's a good chance I have the vid-19. Which is really not fun, but at least I've been dealing with it a bit. I left work early on Friday and am not able to work today thru Monday, which could potentially cost me my job, but fingers crossed.
I am currently looking to apply for a different job on my university campus, and I already know I'll get the job after I apply (my way of manifesting, lol). It'll be nice to do something a little different than my current job, for sure.
I'm going to try to get back to my regularly scheduled posts and routines as soon as I find myself in better health. I feel bad not posting, but I've also been resting a ton to try and heal faster. But yeah, I currently feel like -12/10 in gems of physical health.
Fingers crossed, I'm better by Tuesday! I have my first cooking class on Tuesday evening, so hopefully I am better and can attend because the professor for that class is amazing!
Also, thank you guys for 150+ followers! Just a few weeks ago, when I started taking my blog seriously, I only had 7 followers so having over 150 now is incredible! I appreciate all of you so much <333
That's all for today! Til next time, lovelies!! π©·

August 16th, 2023 Mini Update π
Guess who ended up sick on her first day of classes? Me!!
I remember thinking last week how it would not be fun to get sick when school starts, and on my first day of classes, I wake up with a super sore throat, a mild headache, slight dizziness, fatigue, and just overall feeling like trash. It's either a cold or my yearly bout of tonsillitis. I get tonsillitis every year at least once, and it's been that way for 8 years so far.
I did make it through the day, tho! Went to my first two classes of the semester, and I am pretty optimistic! Luckily, I don't have classes tomorrow, but I do have some appointments, so I'm going to wear my mask all day, as I do not want to risk getting anyone else sick. I'm still going to my nail appointment. I feel like it's the least I deserve right now.
(The picture of nails I included is what I changed my mind to for tomorrow, I feel like almond nails will be a cute change from my usual coffin style and might be easier to work with at my job)
I also found out I'll get to see my boyfriend in the next month and a half (we've been long distance 1000+ miles since early July), and I am so excited about that. Hopefully, it'll be a 4-5 day stay, so I can spend some quality time with him.
I want to sleep and recover as much as possible but I also have a decent amount of homework/quizzes/notes/textbook reading to accomplish by Sunday, and since I work Friday thru Sunday, I know I'm going to have to buckle down and be productive as much as I can. Hot tea with honey, chicken noodle soup, and vitamin C are going to be my best friends these next few days while I recover!
This is really not how I wanted to start my semester, but things will get better, I will still succeed, and I will still stay on top of assignments, attendance, and my work ethic overall. One bump in the road doesn't mean I should come to a complete stop! I have high hopes and high expectations and I truly believe in myself.
Also, I managed to complete a 10 min abs pilates workout (despite knowing I didn't feel too great, silly me) and still did skincare, makeup, and working in my planner this morning. I've also completed several assignments and started notes for one of my online classes, so today was not a complete bummer.
Let's hope that I can return to proper health sooner rather than later, and that it doesn't affect my sleep too much!
Thats all for this update!
Til next time, my lovelies!! π©·
August 15th, 2023 π
My university resumes classes tomorrow! I am so excited to really begin and solidify my morning routine and get back into the school mindset and grind. I'm really planning on being successful this semester.
With the new semester starting, I figure it's time to set out some new goals and things I want to accomplish this semester.
Fall Semester Goals πΈ
π©· Academic Goals -
Pass every class with an A, no exceptions. I took on an easy class load for a reason.
Join 1 or 2 clubs. There's a club related to my major that I'm looking into, as well as a kpop club and a Japanese club that I'm looking into joining if I have the ability to.
Put effort into my classes. Don't miss class without a solid, valid excuse. Actually study and review class material outside of lectures. Ask questions in class and don't be afraid to go to office hours or tutoring.
π©· Personal Goals
Stick to a consistent morning routine! Workout, journal, read, make my bed, skincare, etc. Consistency builds confidence.
Pamper myself regularly. For me, this means the occasional retail therapy moment and getting my nails done every 4 to 6 weeks. I don't normally get my nails due to the nature of my job, but if I keep my nails short and not too flashy, it'll be great! My first appointment is at the end of this week, and I'm excited! The picture of nails I included is actually how I'm getting mine done!!
Routinely attend appointments. That includes lab work, therapy, psych, dental, and general physician appointments. My health is a priority, and I want to make sure I stay on top of it this semester.
π©· Social Goals
Attend study group sessions when applicable
Again, join a club or two. It's the best way to make friends with similar interests.
Attend social networking events on my campus. They have career fairs and professional fairs all the time. As a junior in university, I think it's time I start building some connections for future internship and career opportunities.
I also have some physical goals, but I will not be including those here as to not accidentally trigger anyone. I don't have particular deadlines for any of the goals I mentioned, but I feel like it's important to have these goals so I know the direction I want my semester to go in.
I'm really excited for this semester. It's time I put my best foot forward and succeed. I know I can do this. My GPA will increase, I will recieve more scholarships, and I will pass everything with high marks. I believe in myself.
To everyone also beginning their semesters, good luck!! I wish you all the best success in every way and that you all thoroughly enjoy everything these next few months bring!
Til next time, lovelies !! π©·
Daily Check-in - August 12th, 2023 π
My updates have been a little spread out, but I am happy to announce that I will be (hopefully) posting updates more regularly with my university classes starting for the fall semester and now that I'm also back at my original job! It definitely gave me a reason to stick to my routine so I have a good feeling about all of this!
With the new semester starting comes new goals, which I will be making a separate post about! It's going to somewhat detail my personal, academic, and social goals for the fall semester. So stay tuned for that!
I also began intermittent fasting recently as I have read that it helps with PCOS (which I do have, along with hypothyroidism). My goal is to become healthier physically and mentally, and I believe that doing this will only improve my quality of life! I currently am doing 16:8, and I love it because it works with my schedule and eating habits I usually already have!
π©· What I Ate Today:
Brunch - One piece of brioche style white bread with two slices of cheddar cheese and a spoonful of scrambled eggs and a side of diced potatoes with ketchup.
Dinner - Taco Bell <3 A nacho bell grande and a crunchwrap Supreme with lots of Diablo sauce
Snacks - 2 cups of coffee with one sweet n low each and French vanilla creamer, and one mocha cold brew shake from the coffee shop on my university campus.
I decided to treat myself to Taco Bell tonight since I was craving it and had the money to do so. I actually ordered more than I ended up eating, so I gave the rest to my roommate.
π©· Workout - Upper Body Pilates-ish
I loved this so much the first time I did it that I wanted to include it again! ait gives such a nice burn and feel after completing it and I honestly wish it was longer, it's that good!
I wanted to try this one because I think fixing posture is helpful, and honestly, those 90 shoulders are really aesthetic. I don't think this is going to give me *drastic* results until I lose some weight and lean out a bit, but I think helping to fix my posture is such a good idea to help with back pain and avoiding text neck! I liked this one, but there were a couple of stretches that were a bit hard to complete, given my current weight. But I'll keep doing this til I get it!
π©· Habits I Accomplished Today -
Made my bed
Morning and Night Skincare
Morning Guided Journal
Daily Journal
Reas 1 Chapter of a book
Morning Workout
Stretching
Today was definitely a good day, especially since I completed most of those before going to work at 715am! I'm super proud of myself, and I hope to keep my progress going and continue bettering myself!
π©· Song of the Day: Anti-Hero by Taylor Swift
This song is soo good. I've never been a Swiftie but I've started getting into a couple of her songs, I like how soft they sound.
π©· Current Read - Attached by Amir Levine and Rachel S. F. Heller
This book has been in my shelf for a few months and since I've recently gone long distance with my boyfriend, I figured it would be a good idea to educate myself on attachment styles and ways to healthily navigate relationships. I'm two chapters in and I already love it!
That's all for the day! I'll update you guys again tomorrow! Thank you for all the love <3
Til tomorrow, my lovelies π©·
critical reading and coffee! βοΈ
