I've tried to tell Phineas and Ferb that they shouldn't go to college ever since they were little. . .
Tag yourself as these types of conspiracy theorists. If you relate to one of them you have to believe in that conspiracy - even if it is absolute nonsense. Iβm sorry. Iβm not a fan of it either but that is just how it has to be.
The moon landing was fake:Β Loves old movies, want to do research, drinks way too much coffee, makes collages, stays up all night, chocolate, fairy-lights, wears converse and denim jackets, drinks boba tea, vintage posters.
College is not free so that people will enlist in the military: Is a nerd, know-it-all, only talks when they have something to say, Β thinks capitalism will be humanityβs downfall, just wants to take a nap, hopes memes will numb the pain, is probably right tbh.
Aliens build the pyramids:Β Thinks humans are lazy, loves space and history, wants to travel, stargazing, likes exodic foods, astronomy, wanted to go to the area 51 raid, takes aesthetically pleasing pictures of buildings, is an early bird.
Illuminati controls the world: Wants to be part of a friends group, is stubborn, wants to take down the government, covers their computer camera, wears leather jackets and sunglasses, Β enjoys videogames, Β buys pizza once a week.
The Lock Ness monster is real: Loves animals more than people, love mist, wants to go to the zoo, reads about dinosaurs, waterparks, likes walks in the evening, pets are the only friends you need, owns a million plants, loves rain.Β
A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness.
Robert Frost
sometimes i convince myself that i could survive the apocalypse or a long term lockdown or something by hiding in my tiny single dorm room without having to leave but then there are days like today where i tried to hid in my room and do nothing but quickly found myself wandering aimlessly around campus with no plan to go anywhere specific or do anything in particular just bc i could not stand another moment of being trapped in that room. i feel like this is a perfect analogy for what it feels like when i get stuck in my head and start to spiral with negative thoughts. i tell myself i can hid from them or stay stuck in my little bubble of a brain, until i canβt and i have to do something to get out of it or ill go crazy. maybe this makes sense, maybe it doesnβt, maybe im just feeling poetic today but like I couldnβt stay trapped in my room, i couldnβt keep this thought trapped in my head.
did i just make the executive decision to stay up way later than i should have purely to get to the fanfiction episode of supernatural? yes. do i have a huge exam early tomorrow morning that i was planning on waking up early to study for bc i decided to watch supernatural instead of study tonight? yes. was it worth it? hell yes.
Iβm a contestant in the first ever season of βCollege Cooking,β a culinary show in which university students battle it out in front of top chefs using only the combined ingredients and materials found in their kitchens. I approach the judges with my first dishβ the prompt was simple. An easy, nutritious dinner that can be packaged and brought to school for lunch the next day.
I am too old for pity. There will be no mercy tonight.
βAs you can see,β I say, presenting a pot fresh off the stove, βIβve made a basic chicken soup. Because I havenβt been taking my iron pills, Iβve included as many vegetables as I could get my hands on.β I set the pot down on the table and hand out spoons.
βItβs essentially your typical chicken noodle soup, but Iβve added my own personal twist.β All the judges look up to meet my eyes and it takes a moment for me to realize that theyβre waiting for me to explain. βWell, you see, itβs a fun little soup tradition I have, where I donβt actually know how much broth to add. If you turn your attention to the dish, youβll see that itβs not really SOUP soup as much as itβs soggy soup ingredients. I think it adds a novel element. I hope you enjoy.β
Then I turn around and walk straight off the set.
need to take my heart out and give it a little rinse under cold water
iβm moving out (from college) this saturday and keep putting packing off because it stresses me the fuck out and like i donβt want to go home but also i kinda do. change makes me feel untethered as fuck and packing makes me anxious. might have to reread aftg again to be able to stay sane throughout this

day 1: what classes are you taking this semester and which are you most excited for?
I am taking 18 credits this semester split up between six classes. on mondays and wednesdays I only have one class which is digital imaging which is basically just photography. I am also helping out with the tv news class this semester.
on tuesdays and thursdays I have reporting and news writing as well as intro to video production. also I have a once a week class on tuesdays which is called journalism in film that's two and a half hours.
along with my in-person classes I am taking two asynchronous classes which are nutrition and intro to sociology. I am horrible with online classes so let's hope that I do okay in these this semester.
on top of all these I am in a sorority where I am the membership and recruitment director, I am a writer for my school's newspaper, I am a secretary for another club, and I'm trying to gauge interest for another one.
I am definitely excited for journalism in film we'll basically just be watching a bunch of movies together. I am also very excited for nutrition as it has been something I have always been interested in. Intro to video production is another one that I'm really looking forward to, because I love working with video and we get to produce variety shows at the end of it. the last one I'm excited for is sociology because I think I am going to love my professor. I think this just goes to show that I am really excited for this semester.

here's the first two weeks of the challenge. since i have not finished writing it.
day 1: what classes are you taking this semester and which are you most excited for?
day 2: how many books do you want to read this semester?
day 3: what was your favorite thing you did this summer?
day 4: what are you studying in school? if you work, what do you do?
day 5: what is your favorite food to eat when youβre not at school?
day 6: what are you most excited for this semester?
day 7: how do you keep yourself organized?
day 8: week two check in
my favorite weather is easily either a super stormy night or a colder, windy day that's still sunny. i love having my window open in the winter and being able to feel the wind.
my goal for this year is i think 20? i want to hit around that point, and i'm gonna try for 5 during the semester. i think that will allow for an achievable goal, while still focusing on my school work.
the market in between towers or the den. i get a popcorn chicken sub with pepperjack and mayo, honey mustard (the best condiment imo), lettuce, onion, and pickle. and then i go to the den and get an oreo milkshake made with strawberry ice cream. best combo. just off of campus is a really good pho place that i like though.
easily going to the gym. i've been having so much fun creating workouts and i've been able to see myself getting stronger and its such a nice feeling.
sotd: magic - b.o.b and rivers cuomo
currently reading: devil may care - samantha rue and angel lawson
okay so this challenge completely slipped my mind yesterday and so i'm starting it today and i'm just going to do day one and two today.
i mostly hope to keep myself accountable for working on things and creating content. i also have a lot of things this semester, so i want something i can do daily to wind down and reflect on my day.
so i am majoring in media production with a radio/television production and management emphasis and minoring in communication studies, marketing, and esports management. i will also maybe pick up another major, but i am not sure what that will be yet (either multimedia journalism or something related).
i'm taking 16 credit hours this semester, which didn't feel like a lot when i signed up for the classes but now that i've made it through the syllabus days i think its so much. i am also working on our esports broadcasts (likely 3 days a week, but i'm not 100% sure yet), directing our news show, and hosting a 3 hour dj show in the morning as a requirement for one of my classes.
so i am taking:
media design
intro to audio production
media toolkit
esports business management
english 101p
anyway i am hopeful for this challenge and maybe i'll see some other people doing it!
the book i'm reading right now is love on the brain - ali hazelwood
today's song of the day is nobody move, nobody get hurt - we are scientists
today was an upper body workout day! i pushed myself a bit too hard all at once and felt a little sick afterwards.
okay so i'm going to try this for the first time. i made this so that i have one prompt for every day i'm in classes. i intend to stick with it, but i'll do my best. you also don't need to do this in the spring, there's nothing actually tying it to spring.
i'm really just making this for me (and anyone else who'd like to do it) to kind of take a break at the end of the day.
i also really want to get into creating content, so i am hoping this is a way to kind of ease into it.
if you do the challenge, use the tag #spring sem study challenge so i can see your posts.
this challenge will run from january to april for me
that being said, i wrote prompts for each day that i have classes for the spring semester. there's 60 prompts total, with a check point on day 30. that way if you want a shorter challenge you can have one.
i don't expect everyone to be able to post every day, so you can post catch-ups or answer in batches. i will be trying my best to post daily, but will likely end up needing to do catch-ups.
also i'll be adding a song of the day as well as what book i'm currently reading. i might include my workout for the day but who knows.
if you have any questions, feel free to send me an ask!
day one: what do you hope to accomplish by doing this challenge?

- (taking about the blue holes in the Bahamas)Β βLetβs find out if I shouldβve been dissolved by acid or eaten by a Luscaβ (a squid/shark hybrid thatβs said to live there and prey on unsuspecting swimmers)
- (on a tangent from natural selection)Β βI donβt really eat salmon sushimi anymore because people say they carry tapeworms, so now I eat tuna. And I really donβt care if I eat too much mercury, Iβm past the reproductive age.β
-Β βWinnie the Pooh will always be my favorite superhero.β
- (watching a documentary) The Narrator: The water looked so clear it was tempting to take your regulator off and start breathing
Professor: Donβt do that, you donβt need a degree in biology to know not to do that
- (still talking about the blue holes)Β βSo scientifically, itβs impossible for anything but bacteria and the occasional invertebrate to live down there, but you never knowβ *maniacal laugh*
- (taking about the molecular structures of carbon)Β βI hate teaching this, and itβs really boring, so weβre gonna connect this to fun stuff, like alcohol!βΒ
- (talking about ethanol (alcohol) and why some people donβt have hangovers)Β βIf you have the fast acting aldehyde dehydrogenase then congrats, you donβt have to suffer like the rest of us.βΒ
- *absent mindedly singing the hand song from F.R.I.E.N.D.S*
- *quietly to himself*Β βGod, Iβm such a dork.β
definetly more to be added
does anyone else have like,,,, certain colors for notebooks and binders for certain subjects in school??? Like my science is always green/blue, math is always red, history is black,,,,, science side of tumblr tell me why
I!! forgot!!!
- fans!!!!! Youβre dorm, 8 times out of 10, will not have A.C. (unless you got honors dorm, nerd) and it will be hot as shit in your dorm, even hotter if youβre on a higher floor (heat rises). As soon as you move in (and I mean as soon as you walk in the door) set up a fan or two. Get that air circulating, or you will die
- wallet/lanyard thingy. Youβre going to have a key or two, plus a student ID, and you wont want to lose either of them (more than likely, if you do, itβs a lot of money to replace.) bring (or buy) a flashy lanyard so you donβt lose it
- laundry hamper!!! do not!!! carry!!! youβre stinky laundry!!!! by hand!!!! Gross!!!! it doesnβt have to be fancy lol, just something to carry your laundry up and down stairs.Β
- on that note,Β lingerie bags. These donβt just apply for lingerie, use it for socks, bras, underwear, and masks. since you know, COVID happened. This prevents you from losing socks, youβre bras getting caught and tearing clothing, and most likely, you wonβt have to wash them on delicate
thatβs all I have for now, but if I continue to remember other things, Iβll keep rebloging. feel free to add your own as well!!!
So I know COVID has prevented A Lot of us from going to college, or we just chose to not attend college. And thatβs fine!!! You do you boo!!! In case you are, in fact, going to college this year and happen to be moving into a dorm (this also applies to moving into a new apartment) here are some tips for packing (and what to pack) when moving in.Β
- pack a small bag for stuff youβll need when you immediately arrive. This means disinfectant wipes, a mop/broom, paper towels, and command hooks if you happen to be needing them (you will, idc what you think, you will need them)
- bring command hooks!!!!! a lot of college dorm donβt allow nails in the walls for hanging things. I can already hear people saying they donβt need to be hanging any decorations and ooooohhhh boy you are in for a treat. Winter gear???? You want your coat on a heap on the floor???? towel???? you want the thing you dry your beautiful body with on the dirty ass floor????? bring command hooks coward
- wash your dishes before you get there. I know this isnβt possible in every situation, but if you can, wash your dishes/travel mugs/tupperware before you move in. one less thing you have to doΒ
- speaking of which, you will never have enough tupperware. you think Iβm kidding??? Iβm not. you bring that shit everywhERE you go, and you smuggle as much food as you can because your ass is paying for that, and by god, you will get your moneyβs worth
- communicateΒ π withΒ πyourΒ πroommate(s)Β π and this applies to apartments too. whoβs bringing the mini-fridge?? whoβs got the microwave??? are you having those in your dorm?? do they go to bed before or after 11pm??? commπunπiπcate
- bring,,,and extra,,,,,set,,,,of,,,,everything. towels, sheets, pillows, do it. yes it means a little more room in your bags, but pleaaaaseeee do it
- you will never have enough kitchen towels. I mean it. you will use those little shits for everything. wiping down a spilled drink, dusting, oven mitts, everything. I used them to wrap breakable things in my other bags
- I canβt believe I have to say this, but bring,,, shower,,,,shoes. If you are in a communal bathroom, there are probably dozens of college students using that same bathroom,,,,do you want foot fungus???? I didnβt think so
- door stop!!! sometimes dorm rooms donβt have these, always a good idea
- if you live in the north like me, and winter is a thing that happens for 6 months, think about bringing a shoe mat/tray for your boots. Doesnβt have to be a big one, but those boots are gonna be tracking in so much salt and snow and dirt, you want to put them somewhere
Thatβs everything I can think of off the top of my head, but please please please feel free to add more!!! stay safe!!!!! bring masks!!!!!!Β
