May I interest you in some Beltane-themed witchy pollen magic? Revelers dancing around May Day bonfires in the woods? How about we add some lust-addled Crowley and sweaty Priest!Aziraphale to that, too? Yes? I thought so! I painted this for the Spring is Here! High Pollen Count Event in collaboration with the absolutely fantastic @tawnyontumblr. I know you know Tawny's fics. I don't need to tell you how good they are. The trunk of the birch tree was smooth against Aziraphale's back. He held on to one of the branches above his head, getting bark dust in his nails as Crowley sucked on his jaw. The last of Aziraphale’s buttons came open, his shirt now only held in place by his clerical collar. Crowley's hands moved down, and Aziraphale's belt hissed as it was drawn from its loops. If Aziraphale turned his head he could still see the fire flickering through the trees, the shadows flitting back and forth. If someone came this way - Aziraphale didn't care. His mind was full of Crowley. The drums still beat in time with the blood pounding, rising up as Crowley's mouth coaxed it to the surface of Aziraphale's skin, fed on him like a starving man.

BOY HOWDY AM I EXCITED TO SHARE THIS ONE WITH YOU ALL. This piece is cover art for @thescholarlystrumpet's wonderful 1940s priest AU fic: For Loving One (Rated E on AO3, mind yer tags) ...which you can and should read, asap. Chapter 10 (of 16!) just went up today, and yes, Strumpet does have the whole fic already written and ready to post, so you won't get abandoned on a cliffhanger. For my part, I wanted to call upon some 1940s aesthetics with a little bit of film noir and some Leyendecker-esque vibes. I hope you like my interpretation! Alsoooooo take some time to check out all the things I painted into that stained glass. This is my ransom note to Neil Gaiman love letter to the ineffable idiots and the Gomens fandom. There will undoubtedly be more because I caught the brain rot so bad.

Scaly semi-snek flaming-like-anything-ginger freckled Crowley because why not? I wanted to mess around with a very pale, slightly creepy color palette for skintones, so this was a good exercise. And anyway, I could draw DT's glorious swan-like neck every day for the rest of my life and never grow weary of it.
Michael Sheen's nose --hell, his profile in general--will be my undoing. He is SUCH a challenge to draw, which I adore. I used quite literally 4x the references for 'Zira than for Anthony Janthony.
About: All digital, all Photoshop, baby. Orig. 4483 x 5391 px. ~2 weeks of off-and-on painting when I got tired of my work art. Title is taken from Closer by Nine Inch Nails because I pretty much exclusively listened to The Downward Spiral on repeat while I worked on this piece, because that's the kind of angsty teenage headspace I'm in??? I'm fucking 34 years old, I thought I was past this.
