Flame in the Vein
I let you downβ A whisper lost in the rising heat, Ash caught between teeth, Promises burning, hollow and weightless. I was never strong enough, was I? Not when the sky cracked, Not when the city begged for mercy, Not when your hands slipped from mine.
But watchβwatch as the embers take shape, As the neon-streaked skyline folds into ruin. They will feel it now, the way fire runs like blood, The way rage can ignite the night itself. We were never meant to stay, Never meant to kneel beneath steel towers, Beneath the weight of a world that never saw us.
So we burn. Not in silence, not in regretβ But in defiance, in light too bright to contain. Let the glass melt, let the streets choke on the smoke, Let them see what I see, feel what we felt, Let them know what it means to lose.
If I cannot hold you, Then let me hold the match. Let me be the spark that turns memory to ruin. And when the flames rise high enough, When the night is nothing but embers and echoes, I will finally be free.

Johnny got to Nibbles again while V was out and about. Fair to say Nibbles is unbothered at this point but proud to rock the swag <3

Entry 13: Look at the way they've blocked out the sky. Sometimes I wonder how claustrophobic V feels when walking in these parts of the city. Especially nomad V who's been out in nature their whole life. Just feels like another thing for them to capitalise and conquer.

Hey NC chooms, I wanted to promote my AO3 account (Nightcity_Scrapbook) where I am posting Cyberpunk 2077 short stories :)
It will follow V and other plot-related side characters either being silly or having serious moments. My focus is to explore the world more and especially things that get brushed over a lot, such as V's emotional state, or more bonding moments with V, Johnny, Jackie and other chooms and romantic interests.

Entry 12: Surprised Johnny didn't have a single cynical thing to say about this scenery. Not about the neon replacing nature, light and CHOOH2 pollution, the acidic rain, nor the shitty day we just had. Overall, simply breath taking.
Entry 11: Johnny and I are flipping off Avante behind the camera (the shop owner BANNED me since I alledgedly "tracked in mud and blood" and "made the customers feel unsafe"?? But I KNOW it's coz I wasn't wearing 'fancy' clothes. Not everyone is made of eddies choom! (Oh look...my journal just updated... Hmmm an anonymous hit for a very specific Avante worker eh...?)
Otherwise...this little spot is a beautiful place to hang out for a breather, snack, and to pretend a few birds are nesting in those neon trees π
