I swear you could hear it in his voice how much he didn’t want to do that again- how he didn’t want to be used as a weapon again
WILSON BETHEL as BENJAMIN POINDEXTER Daredevil: Born Again (2025) 1.09
Love how all of Matts fragile composure and sense of control is starting to completely break and he just loses it with dex and slams this guys head into the fucking table three times. We are SO BACK
I love the contrast of born again and the original series’s title sequences. In the original opening, everything that was important to Matt i.e. the church, justice, New York is made from this dripping red ‘blood’ and in return all of these things lead to the literal creation of Daredevil. In born again’s opening, all those things important to Matt/Daredevil; the church, justice, Nelson, Murdock and Page are shown in concrete form with cracks and pieces falling off before they are destroyed and from that rubble of everything important to him, Daredevil is remade he is born again. The difference between something fluid being for creation and something solid and hard for the destruction
The new title sequence basically tells us how the show is gonna play out and what’s gonna happen with stunning visuals that mirror the originals title sequence. I know this is a pretty surface level analysis and isn’t anything groundbreaking I just thought it was pretty cool
MY MAN MY MANNN
on season 2 of making my mother watch daredevil;
she is OUTRAGED that they ditched the karen/foggy storyline. honestly i can’t blame her
Matt Murdock to himself, at literally any given moment in DDBA:
forgot how pornographic matt’s groaning is in Nelson v. Murdock.
charlie cox, the man that you are.

i actually have very high hopes for season 2 of born again! i think the last two episodes of s1 were really good and set us up for a good, well made story.
I wish all of season 1 was stronger story wise, but i have full faith that season 2 will be excellent.
I think the show runners shoved that much content into the last two episodes off ddba so that we’d collectively forget how dumb it was that matt recognized heathers face by touching a painting.
Matt and Frank: *just act as usual*
Me:
this fucking guy
- the only good
part of me
was you -
late secret santa gift for my lovely friend @scienceoftheidiot I know this took forever, i hope you like it!
daredevil using ‘Everything in its Right Place’ by radiohead was perfect.
i haven’t stopped thinking about it since the episode dropped and i get chills every time.
it perfectly captures the emotions and story and movement that is happening and it’s just so perfect i cant even articulate how good of an artistic decision it was. i wish to personally kiss whoever chose it directly on the mouth.

Daredevil vol. 4 #13 by Mark Waid, Chris Samnee, Matthew Wilson, and Joe Caramagna
I've talked before about the degree to which Kirsten, as a character, is in conversation with the tradition of women in Daredevil comics—and, in fact, with the history of superhero love interests as a whole, which is a theme Mark Waid tends to enjoy examining (for my Flash readers: Kirsten shares many traits with Waid's rendition of Linda Park). She is independent, she is strong-willed, and she takes up space within the story beyond the boundaries of her relationship with the hero. She even says aloud, directly on-panel, that she does not want to be relegated to the role of "Daredevil's girlfriend"—meaning, of course, within her life and world, but it's also a statement of intent from the creative team. Here, we get possibly my favorite story element highlighting this autonomy: the fact that Kirsten has her own enemies from her life as a successful lawyer, long before she met Matt.
This particular issue is all about the echoes of Matt's bloody dating history and how he is choosing to deal with that now that he is in a relationship again, particularly now that he has a public identity. Another theme of this run is Matt healing and trying to move on from past traumas, and one way it does this is through light-hearted, jokey elements being overlaid onto very serious topics: Matt's famous "I'm Not Daredevil" shirt from volume 3 is one example, and this scene is another. I've also talked before about the particular parallels between Kirsten and Milla (another character who was, at least initially, created to engage with and subvert DD love interest tropes). Kirsten is doing something here that we saw Milla do as well: downplaying the seriousness of Matt's fears for her safety. There are two levels to this: an understanding of why Matt is so afraid (Kirsten wasn't there, but we, having read those issues, know exactly what he is scared of), but also a joy, at least for me, in something Kirsten always does so well, which is to undermine Matt's self-important posturing, drag him down off his Angsting Perch (you know the one), and force him to genuinely engage with life and the people around him. Kirsten is not supposed to be thrilled to have had her life threatened, that is not in the established script, and it upsets Matt, but the fact of the matter is that she's fine (in a way Milla was not allowed to be), and even better, she's had the chance to get one up on Matt by being attacked by someone whose interest is in her, not him! I love Kirsten having her own arch-foe. I love how smug she is about it. I want her to have a whole rogues gallery.
daredevil is the first real tumblr fandom experience i’ve ever had, and it has been so fun! i love talking to people about headcanons and interpretations and everything under the sun, bc i care about and love dd so so much and i love sharing that love with people.
i feel super privileged to have joined right around when born again was in the works, so i’ve gotten to experience the pre born again era as well as the excitement of the new show coming out.
recently however, i’ve seen people being super hostile about other people’s opinions about the show, mostly regarding ships? maybe that’s normal for fandom behavior, but it’s so much less fun in my opinion.
i’m a big proponent for live and let live, ya know? i love seeing everyone be excited about their ships and hcs. i have to believe it’s possible to like something and express that without putting down another thing.
sorry for being complainy on main lol, i’m still getting my footing around here.
absolutely obsessed with the dynamic between Matt and Frank it's gotta be one of my favorite character dynamics of all time. Frank kills people as a hobby and Matt has never killed in his life. they can't have a conversation without cursing each other out. they trust each other enough to hold one another as they jump off a building. they physically fight more often than not. Frank has seen Matt's bare ass. they're both in love with the same woman who respects herself too much to hook up with either one of them. Matt is a Catholic who believes every soul can be saved except for his own and Frank doesn't think either of theirs needs to be. can anybody hear me is this thing on
Which is the greater, more devastating MCU New York tragedy:
Loki's Invasion during The Avengers,
or
Matt Murdock having his ass out as he walked home from the hospital but it's during a blackout so no one got the privilege of seeing the devil's cake?
I know my answer 🤷🏻♀️
(To give an idea of what New York couldn't see 💔 Extensive evidence below: )
thinking about how karen was the only one to not question matt when he tells her about vanessa putting the hit on foggy.
he’s spent the entire season having the people around him (mostly heather and cherri) make him seem crazy, but karen is immediately ready to back him up as matt murdock AND as daredevil.
she’s matt’s anchor, he’s finally trusting her to take care of herself and letting her take care of him. in previous seasons he would’ve been so upset that she’s anywhere near the danger, but now he’s open with her, actively asking for her help and taking her advice and support.
i love them so much, your honour.
Let's go
Daredevil: Born Again 1x09 "Straight To Hell"
tell me why my delusional ass kept expecting to see foggy in one of those cages
slight daredevil born again spoilers below:
okay i literally was so excited for this episode after how insane episode eight was but tbh… it was kinda mid? obviously it was absolutely insane and violent for disney and i LOVED THAT… but hitting the mid credit scene and realizing that it was all building up to basically nothing more (for season one) was slightly disappointing, especially considering that we have to wait a year or more until season 2… it was just a build up to the next season and didn’t really do much in the end for this one. last ten to fifteen minutes of the episode i was waiting for something to happen and nothing did. still a decent show, 7.5/10 for me, but honestly i wanted like a little bit more substance to the finale 😗
If…if his apartment is trashed will he have to move to his old one?
Two (2) Matties because I like him
