The task of modifying and modernizing the Sandman, aka Morpheus’ look, fell to veteran makeup and hair designer Graham Johnston.
“To me, it was a sort of slightly new romantic goth feel to him,” Johnston explains. “And the main thing was his hair. What I wanted to do was give a sort of unreal look to it, but also a look that would be acceptable moving amongst mankind — so that he can be striking but not out of place.”
“It’s a LOT of hair products,” he recalls, laughing. “We had a session with Tom where I sat down and was like Edward Scissorhands attacking the hair.” (x)
Terry Pratchett discworld characters would dominate the marvel and DC universes if thrown into them. Weird people with powers? Eh, typical Tuesday. Vimes is so used to taking down weird he would find a way to put Darkside and Thanos in cells by the end of the week and they would STAY because Carrot asked them to. Heaven help any magic user who thinks they can win against Granny Weatherwax! She can take down GODS without actually casting a spell. Vetinari would have Gothem the most prestigious city in less then a year. Heros got nothing against characters who are used to bitch slapping Gods and know people WAY to much.

Reading Jason's robin run rn and the ngl, the (retroactively) doomed Robin narrative got to me. Also the handshake is a reference to the panel (under the cut) right after their first team up post-crisis, from Batman (1940) #416.
