Studying constantly only leads to burnout. Go take a walk. Feed some ducks. Admire a pretty building. Try to cook something new.
You might feel guilty at first, but nothing in excess is ever good, not even studying.
Dont forget to live life
You are smarter than you feel and you know more than you think.
Always while studying or right before an exam i feel like i don't know anything, my thoughts are all jumbled and I can't find a straight answer for a question i ask myself for funsies.
That's ok.
I've come to know that, despite feeling like i don't know anything, i hold all the necessary information. When it counts, when you have a specific problem right in front of you, you will know the answer.
You sometimes just have to trust yourself.
All work and no fun makes for a very cranky law student
Take a break
Go play cards, smell some flowers, read tarot, do a funny sketch of an animal, learn origami, dance for no reason, draw a mustache on yourself
Don't let life pass you by
Just because you have to study to achieve your dreams doesn't mean it can't be enjoyable
College has been a whole process for me. I did not know how to study, i did not know how to put effort into the right things, and most importantly, i did not know how to accept that my actions (or lack of) were the problem.
It took me years, but I've learned to accept that it's ok for me to need to study to be good when it comes to a subject, that college is a place for learning, not for being instantly good at something.
And now i can finally say that, without the subconscious frustration, i truly do enjoy learning new things, studying new subjects, and studying for the sake of knowing more, not just to pass exams.
It takes work, but it's all worth it.
Less than one week until the first exam.
I've reached the point where i can't wait for the day of the exam to have an excuse to get out of the house and dress up in something other than comfy house clothes.

Trying to get back in the studying mood is the hardest part of studying.
There's still time left until my midterms, but I don't want to cram a lot right before the exams, so I'm trying to get back on track. Productivity level is remarkably low.
Any advice on getting motivated to study?

Tomorrow i have two exams and i need to revise a lot today.
When i get the chance, i try to buy everything pastel pink. Makes me feel more legally blonde rather than burnt out law student.

hi! i'm a different anon, but saw your previous post with pictures of your beautiful desk and i was wondering if you had any tips on creating a nice workspace? Mine is immensely boring and i would love to change that.

it took me over 3 years of constantly changing my desk for it to look like this and honestly it rarely looks as organised as it was yday- life happens and books pile up, it’s left unclean for weeks on end cuz you’re too stressed about something else and that’s okay !
welll to create a nice workspace - i def don’t think i have achieved that yet cuz there’s a lot on my desk and to me, i love minimalistic workspaces where the desk only has things you *need*
but to romanticise your workplace here’s some tips that helped me out ehehe :
pick a colour scheme w one or two colours (one might be too monochrome so normally pick two- make sure they aren’t hard on your eyes and v subtle tones) mine is white and creamy beige :)
get some greens around : real plants are def pretty but not everyone can handle them (i killed a cactus in three days) so fake plants do an amazing job too ! i got mine from ikea :)
candles could be nice if you’re conscious enough to not burn down your desk !!
print out aesthetic stickers from pinterest or use postcards like i do around your wall in front of your desk <3 make sure the content on these is either motivating or calms your brain in some way :)
make it a habit to clean your desk every week and clean mainly where you work everyday :) even if it isn’t dirty, it tends to make you feel more motivated and better overall !!
cute stationary doesn’t make a lot of difference and is a lot to buy since it’s a repetitive thing to buy so i wouldn’t suggest it :) just find what pens/stationary that works for you and stick to it !
cute calendars make a difference to me! there’s a lot of printables online
maintain daily log diary to note down imp tasks, what’s on your mind etc :) i always make sure that my diary has a cute cover (the handwriting inside is vile but that doesn’t matter !!)
i have a lot of memoirs from trips i’ve been to on my desk which is a v cute and nostalgic reminder of memories :)
in the end, it’s your workplace and do what makes you feel comfortable and happy to work there :)

starting from the left :
wooden thrifted stand
on the top, there’s an air cooler which is super helpful during summers <3 it only needs water and doesn’t make any noise and also is pretty cheap so def worth it ehe
the lower shelf has my collection of sticky notes <3 i’m a hoarder but i use them all, mostly :)
the pegboard - with cute decor that helps me romanticise my study area, and gives me space for cute storage (headphones, papers, id cards, etc)
below the pegboard is :
ipad and the study area where i normally sit at :), towards the right of my ipad is my calendar (bought from a local artist at an art fair) along with a bunch of lip balms, also has nailpolish and eyedrops 😭 all this placed on top of a pile of five books that i don’t really use for the aesthetic of it :)
also my pen stand is there - cute ceramic stand which holds ALOOOOOT and most of my stationary that i require :)
then comes this -
a wooden stand :
first drawer - miscellaneous items
second drawer - wires
third drawer - handy things (some meds, antiseptic cream, more lipbalm, small clips for keeping papers together)
on top of the stand - a cutie clock, period cramp relief roll on, glue and kinderjoy toys, stapler, and some other medication
next to the wooden stand is my metal rack for papers - has been extremely handy and holds all my papers since grade 10 😭
the wall above my stands has a bunch of postcards with words of motivation or just really cool shi 🤞🏼 along with the medal i won at a science fair this year (i don’t have anywhere else to keep it and im lowk proud of it 😔) and also a dream catcher that a friend gifted me some time ago :)
lastly - books. reference neet books.
and i can’t forget this lil stand that holds my notebooks and is next to my chair :) super handy and is at the verge of breaking but we make do.

i also do plan on adding a few more things like a pen stand etc to reduce the amount of things i keep on my desk ehe :)
there’s a stand on top for decor - has fake plants and candles
clips - to clip papers you’d like to keep within view everyday
this is the way it looks now -
has place for id cards, headphones, and some cute decor which i might switch out for important notes later on!! but overall- it’s really helpful to me :)
