I AM FASHIONABLY LATE?

As funny as it is to see American Miku as “Miku if she crawled out of my local gas station” (excluding Native American Mikus, they’re lovely) I thought I’d switch it up a bit!

As someone who’s watched too many music documentaries, I decided to make my own Ameri-kus! And apparently my art style improved A LOT while doing this (yes I’m going back to posting old art after this though)

Anyways, we have Jazziku, Disku, and Rock ‘n Miku (1980s inspired, requested by my mom)

Though it’s also important to note all of these music genres and therefore cultures WERE invented by Black people. Specifically queer Black people (Billy Strayhorn, Rosette Tharpe, and tbh early disco LIVED in gay clubs)

The changing shading style is very noticeable and tbh I don’t hate it!

This is Disco Chicken. She and her fro got the cluckin flow, got the moves to peck down low.

Disco fever got me guys take all my disco doodles, including this one of Mickey and Minnie

My parents (mostly my dad) always give me their old ticket concerts for me to put on my board. (And other things)

Some weeks ago my mom found this John pic they used in my country for a disco ad😭

WHY DID THEY USE JOHN’S IMAGE FOR A DISCO???

They didn’t even put rock music there😭

Say what you want, but USS Discovery is by far the most beautiful Star Trek ship, and there aren't enough pics of it out there. That side by side with the Enterprise though... <3

And for a fic writer in this fandom, it's also damn hard to describe that spore drive jump without a few picture references.
