So don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy. However, these collector's cards. They frighten me.

i love how the forward of every hitchhikers book is like, "yeah this book has no fucking plot. it has no fucking coherent characters. but are you really here for the plot or for the shits and giggles?"

And they are fucking correct. damned be the plot, we wing it with the wackiness of universe. Heres to the clever, hilarious, silly and occasionally deep, shits and giggles of h2g2.

When I was reading The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (and sequels), I felt that something about it was oddly similar to Terry Pratchett’s Discworld. Something about the bizarre character ideas, the new takes on philosophical concepts like time or reincarnation or our place in the universe, and the witty satire on Earth (Roundworld) bureaucracy…

Am I the only one who feels like this?

Currently reading: Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adam.

If you haven’t read the Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy I highly encourage you to read it! It’s filled to the brim with such wonderful bizarreness that it makes me smile just thinking about it. The writing is detailed in a very specific, unique way and you’re suddenly part of this whole new, vast universe that’s unfolding before your eyes. The characters are really fleshed out and have charming chemistry, It easily made it to my top five books list.

I plowed through the first two books in one day. There are five total, and I can’t decide which one is my favorite- they’re both too good!
