things i haven't seen anyone mention about the Polish dracula ballet that really should have been mentioned:

Dracula's boytoys. and you may ask "what?" why yes his boytoys. recognizable by either being naked or having sleeves. they proceed all his entrances, it's amazing

The brides' boytoys. recognizable by having no sleeves.

Vampires are literally unaware of pants that are not skin tight before they come to Londen. No i am not making this up. this is canon in the ballet and i am obsessed with it.

Dracula wants to fuck Jonathan. this has been mentioned but like He really wants to! (okay he wants his blood but like we all know metaphors)

Perfect casting for Jonathan (in my opinion) He falls over in shock at least four times, and every time it's great!

It's also just really fucking good!!! please do yourself a favour and watch it, I promise you will not regret it!!

Vampires are by nature creatures of deep sensuality. Their origins in literature can be primarily traced back to Carmilla (a story where vampirism is used as a metaphor for homosexuality) and Dracula (a work that reflects the xenophobia of the later Victorian era and forbidden desire). They were literally created to be alluring in a creepy way. Hence I struggle to comprehend why there’s people shocked by the fact that the new Nosferatu is rooted in eroticism.

A Review on ‘Dracula’ by Bram Stoker

A Review On ‘Dracula’ By Bram Stoker

Genre: Gothic/Adventure

Rating: 3/4

Summary: An English solicitor named Jonathan Harker visits the Castle Dracula of Transylvania, Romania, where he meets the famous Count Dracula. By the day, he becomes aware of himself being held captive in the labyrinth like castle. In the meantime, Harker’s fiancée Mina Murray grows anxious of his return while noticing some great changes in her best friend, Lucy Westenra.

My Opinion: I was very excited about this book and waited till October to get the Halloween vibes. Unfortunately my exam date was set for October and I had to sneak some time to read it. Anyway, I was able to finish reading the book and liked it. The gothic environment was evident and at times it creeped me out. The environments of the castle and the graveyard were really creepy. The fact that the whole book was written in the format of letters, diaries and journals, kept me guessing. I did not particularly like any character. I didn’t feel emotionally connected to anyone. They seem too plain. A minor character of a mental patient named Renfield was the only one I found interesting. Another problem I struggled with was that the novel was too descriptive. It took a lot of my attention and will power to go through the whole book. But overall, the story was thrilling.

Quote:  “How blessed are some people, whose lives have no fears, no dreads; to whom sleep is a blessing that comes nightly, and brings nothing but sweet dreams.”

broke: drawing dracula and the wives in ONLY 14th century nobility fashions because they lived in a castle with little to no contact with the modern world for hundreds of years

woke: drawing dracula and the wives living through every major historical event and the accompanying fashions up to the assassination of jfk just for kicks

AITA for throwing my houseguest's shaving glass out the window?

For context I (don't worry about my age M) have a solicitor (22 M) currently staying at my home for business purposes. For for the purpose of this post I will call my solicitor J.

J arrived a few days ago now and has been very well behaved staying in a small section of my home and being more then willing to answer any of my questions about the purchase and his fascinating home country (England).

This morning I went to visit him in his quarters to let him know breakfast was ready when I walked on him shaving. Now for personal medical reasons I will not discuss here have banned all mirrors and reflective objects from my home. It appeared through Johnathan brought his own mirror though. I accidentally startled him when I entered and he cut himself while shaving which set off my prior mentioned medical issues. This resulted in my lunching at him but I didn't actually touch him so it is no matter.

Now here is where I may be the asshole. Once I had collected my self I throw his mirror out the window and down a cliff face into the forest below. It was pure impulse. I played it off as taking revenge on it for making him cut him self and called it "a foul bauble of man's vanity". We moved on from the incident quickly but now J looks a bit uncomfortable around me.

I feel it should have been obvious from the lack of reflective surfaces in my home that mirrors are not allowed, but I technically never said it. I only told him not to go into locked rooms or fall asleep outside of his room. But who even brings a mirror with them when they travel? Anyway what do you all think, was I am asshole but tossing him mirror or just taking care of my self because of my medical issues?
