Did you and/or do you still struggle with who you are vs society's expectations? How did you get past it?
I wouldn’t say I’ve ever struggled specifically with societies expectations of men, but I have with the church’s. As a man of faith, I have wrestled with the traditional role a man is supposed to play in the household. In my belief system, the man is the head of the family. He’s the leader and decision maker. I’ve found I do better being led than leading myself, so that was something I had to work through. I have a peace about it now, but know that many of my peers in the church wouldn’t agree or understand how I’ve instituted a FLR marriage and submitted to my wife. Connecting with other men who’ve taken this path on here, has been very supportive and helpful.
