Since @imolyhollowcold asked to see the smalletho x floral canyon essay, I shall share. Because I have to rewrite everything to make it actually readable since for some reason I decided to write the whole thing on paper and im not gonna give myself a headache trying to go back and forth typing it up, I’m gonna have to post it in parts.

for context he’s singing I’m not okay by MCR. I could have kept going with the lyrics. I am unsure as to whether that’s a flex or a sign of a problem.

Sorry nya if it’s inaccurate again this was 5 am Ian and he’s a little bit strange and also I didn’t have internet and couldn’t check to see what the outfits actually look like but I’m now motivated by this terrible sketch to make proper fanart of your au because it’s amazing! (For like a month I had forgotten that the Etho-listening-to-Paramore factoid was from your fic and thought it was true and subsequently listened to, like, their entire discography because I was like “I mean if Etho likes ‘em…” lol)

(This is referring to my Hermitcraft x magic the gathering au. I’m currently working on Joel because I’m definitely not obsessed, and I’ve made him Kamigawan (during the neon dynasty) because it fits his season 10 theme

guys this took so long. And I kind of hate it. But I spent too long on it to not post it so here it is. (Below the ramble)

So I’ve decided Joel is only half moonfolk, which I don’t know if that’s a thing in mtg canon but it is here because that explains the hair, why he’s in Towashi (cause otherwise that would defeat the whole point of him being kamigawan), and also nerfs him for me. No floating for you!! Ig he can just, idk, jump really far? I’m still working things out. (Also i still gotta figure out how Joel’s spark ignites, and how that affects that plot given that I’m setting during the phyrexian invasion, mostly, cause timelines are gonna get a little wonky)

As for Etho, here I have him as a Kami, but that could change later if I decide he’d work better as a planeswalker. The only Kami type I could find that appeared even vaguely humanoid were oonas, but those are specifically only women, so ig trans Etho? Idk, like I said I’m still figuring it out. (Ooh, I could make him a face stealer Kami that I forgot the name of and am too lazy to look up and just ignore the canon design!) currently he’s wearing a placeholder outfit while I figure out his design. also disclaimer I’m kind of ignoring and making up a lot of stuff from mtg canon for this au, so if something doesn’t match what you know about magic lore, you’re just gonna have to accept it and move on.

I’ve recently discovered that wizards of the coast makes soundtracks to go with each set and i have listened to the kamigawa neon dynasty (it’s actually my favorite set what a coincidence that my fav hermit happened to be there in my au) soundtrack an embarrassing amount of times. Also next I’ll probably do Tango’s design since I know where he’s gonna go (im basically picking a planeswalker or powerful creature for each hermit to base my design, origin, and role in the story off of, and of course Chandra was the obvious pick for tango) but I have to do a bit more research on Kaladesh before I can confirm my design.

also Joel is based off of Tamiyo (so that gives you a clue as to how much liberty im taking with these designs/ backstories/ personalities/ actions / everything of the things everyone is based off of) and for those of you who know the lore, and are wondering if I’m gonna do to Joel what wizards of the coast did to Tamiyo, >:D. Wait and see.

Whose kid, who knows! Is it canon lore, who knows! How does Etho feel about being a father again with his ex soulmate thanks to said soulmate’s former co-parent/one night stand, who knows!

fellow jeremy - @iandoubt ,as a phd holder in the religous studies of jeremyism, graduated from Shrek university, i believe this song is an ancient hymn that was lost in the translations of the book of jeremy following the great larry scandal.

…I may have gone a touch overboard with wedding dress. Tumblr killed the quality, which in turn is killing me cause I spent so long on that thing. Also I just realized that in this edition of guess the builds everyone is just in love with Jimmy. I feel bad for all the “relationship map” people rn, because with Jimmy and Joel’s marriage, now the joelycule and the Jimmycule have fused, and they have to redo all their charts.

When the boat boys turned red, Joel “green stripe” smallishbeans probably dyed his hair with ease, but Etho might’ve needed a little help. I mean, when you die and come back from the dead as evil murderers, you’ve got to get your makeover just right before you go back and kill everyone!

Someone should write a fic about this where they have to stand really close to each other for Joel to dye Ethos hair properly and they’re weird and gay about it. <- whoa who said that.

Thank you @falconearring, your comic was the first time I had ever seen a fan comic, and I spent an unjustified amount of time last year reading and rereading it. I never would have had the courage to even make fanart without it. I love the story and the art, and I aspire to make comics like you. Your art taught me a lot, and I still am in awe of the way you tell such a cohesive and immersive story.

if you are drawing Etho slab fanart, chances are you know that his skin is based of kakashi, and I think we see that reflected. Like, we know that’s meant to be a mask, and that gray on his head band is piece of metal and not more hair, and that’s meant to be sandals, and that’s meant to be vest with pockets. So that’s how we draw it. But what if it wasn’t? I just had this fun idea so I grabbed a reference for his actual Minecraft skin and just. Pretended I had no idea who kakashi was. How would I draw him? How might I interpret his outfit, his hair? Idk, just a silly doodle. Nothing revolutionary. I’d love to see other people try this idea for Etho or any other mycts that you love. To just. Pretend you don’t know what everything is meant to be and see how you might interpret their Minecraft skin.

Hi guys! Good news, I hucked my broken pencil at a wall in frustration, and it un-broke itself (mostly…), so I spent many hours making a boat boys animatic. Bad new, I don’t know how to sync audio, so I just had to record my iPad and play the song on a separate device. Its really bad quality guys (big sad), but I still think the actual animatic turned out pretty well, even if it’s still in the sketching phase. Anyway, the song is I Was an Island by John-Allison Weiss, go listen to it it’s so hilariously boat boys coded I can’t. Anyway, disclaimer, this is all for sillys and giggles. Also beware the angst.

I went considerably lighter on the outlines than I usually might have, and I am undecided about if I like it or not. Here’s the version with a full opacity outline

another wip! I’ve had this idea in my head for years now, but I’ve finally decided to draw it. I haven’t added color yet, and perhaps I will later, or perhaps I won’t, but I’m super proud of what I have so far!

Every time I hear the song Immortals by Fall Out Boy all I can think of is how perfectly it fits Limited Life. This, just the line art, took me three hours, and I was just like “screw this, I’ll post this as it is anyway” because I was bored out of my skull and my brain was melting out my ears. Also, I don’t recommend looking at the tags because there are about three hundred of them because apparently everyone has to have a name, a gamer tag, three nicknames, and their name next to the smp they’re in.

edit: for some reason it only lets me have a certain amount of tags before it deletes the rest, so I guess everyone will have to settle with just one or two tags per person. Seriously. Why is this fandom like this!?!!??!!? /j (but still I had to cut down on ALL the tags and it was a pain, and there’s still a bunch even majorly reduced)
