It's a drawing that is somewhat old, but I still like it even though these days I imagine his face to be different. Just wanted to share this with anyone who is interested.

Some of y'all SERIOUSLY need better awareness and critical thinking, especially when it comes to POC characters; particularly this issue is more prevalent with black characters and women of color, and how you perceive and react to them.
It's shockingly and VERY concerningly common to see this issue occur and to see the lack of self-awareness or flat out willful ignorance to their own internal biases coming out into fandom spaces and their interactions with media. All too often, there is hypercriticality or malice lunged at POC characters, but their white counterparts or even white characters who are absolutely abominable with their views and/or actions get a pass or even end up with sympathizers trying to excuse their actions and views.
Not to mention, it's getting frighteningly more prevalent/common with the rise of right-wing talking points and ideology; at least here in the States.
We need to be aware and alert about this, and always view media and the analysis or reaction to media, INCLUDING OUR -OWN- VIEWS AND ACTIONS, with a critical and analytical eye. We need to question the "why" behind all of it instead of jumping onto and believing in first instinct.
i know of course that fandoms are not immune from cultural and societal biases but it still disappoints me that people in fandom will be blatantly sexist and racist and not even critically think about where exactly those takes are coming from

Generally sad that in tv shows and stuff you will have like the most complex female character with the most interesting story and people are still going to favor the male character
Like your allowed to have a favorite character be a guy or not! But usually Iām fandoms I see guy characters are a lot more popular, and I get really happy when I see good representation of both
Idk this is just a rant and again, Iām not saying who you should like more
(Also I hate when a girl is popular but itās just them sexualizing her or making fetish stuff :( )

Hello,
I'm midas, but you can call me... god (just kidding)
I've been on tumblr for quite a while now but I wasn't really active. And since a new school year is about to begin, I decided to give it a shot, and try to actually post stuffs on here.
I will post mostly about fandom (Mostly Dead Boy Detectives and PJO, I think), movies, books, music and being a student (I study humanities).
So if you want to be moots with me, I am... right here :)))

Professor Flitwick was working with Sirius, who had already finished the week's goal of successfully levitating a book without using verbal spells. They were attempting something a bit more ambitious: disarming.
Remus watched Sirius squint his eyes, his eyebrows coming together. He flicked his wand, and Flitwick's wand wiggled in his hand.
"Good! Very good, Mr. Black," Flitwick exclaimed.
"But I didn't get it," Sirius said. Remus heard disappointment in his voice.
"No matter, my boy," Flitwick replied with a warm smile. "This isn't an easy thing to do. You were able to move my wand in my hand, and I was holding on very tightly. You're a talented wizard. You have a great future ahead of you."
Sirius smiled. His hand went to his face. Was that a tear Remus saw? Any praise meant a lot to Sirius. He never got it from his parents, and he acted out so much at school he was often getting scolded.

Something I have realized the last few years that has made it so much easier to have fun consuming media:
I can choose whatever bits of a series/franchise I like and disregard the things I donāt. I am not obligated to acknowledge what is officially canon when engaging in media recreationally
The creator of a piece of media is not owed my unwavering support for every aspect of a story.
I can pick out the things I like, ignore anything I donāt then go make a Headcanon or write a fanfic that gives me what I personally want out of a character or property.
The canon content is still there for those who enjoyment and this doesnāt take away anything from the original author/creator. In fact, it just means that someone loves some part of their work enough to want to think about it and play in the world they made.
That isnāt to say I donāt critique media, itās something I enjoy. I can still debate and disagree with other fans (as long as I do so respectfully). Other opinions and interpretations are valid and wonderful.
But I can engage with story or media however I want, in a way that makes me happy.
Thereās literally a surprising amount to go off of as well! Thereās the whole Satsuten cafe, thereās an official (?) school au out there, right? Why isnāt there more content :(
There's a extreme lack of au content and it is bad. I now know why people say this fandom is dead, au content is MANDATORY for fandom nourishment and I haven't seen any new aus for MONTHS.
"Waa why aren't fandoms fun anymore" because you keep policing people's headcanons, make fun of cosplayers,make fun of selfshipers, make fun of beginner artists and just make fun of people for having fun š
