Underrated Duo within The Bad Kids…
No but actually the Gorgug and Riz interactions this season have been making me very happy they are so very sweet and the best friends ever,,, Enjoy this piece based on a very old drawing of them (which I will never share because it looks. bad. Haha)
Thinking about the clerics of the Ratgrinders
I guess I just had the thought of “What if Lucy was watching everything happen?” And just how she would feel looking at Buddy and his excitement. Lucy watching as Buddy went through (presumably) the same as she did. Buddy being unaware of the depth of Lucy’s tragedy. Being so hopeful and enthusiastic to help people, and Kipperlilly is “brilliant”. And Helio would never steer him the wrong way.
The Ratgrinders didn’t deserve you two, maybe the High 5 Heroes did.
so like…this is 100% why ivy had That Reaction to fig disguised as lucy, right? it wasn’t that she saw through the disguise, she just saw her once dead friend now revived (like the rest of the party had already been) and thought lucy finally chose ankarna (chose them)

Just realised that Brennan uses the same voice for Gertie Bladeshield as he does for Perry the pigeon in Unsleeping City. Nothing else to say - just obsessed with this character choice.

it’s a little amusing that baron is a he/they bc riz’s entire party likes girls. everyone in his party (except for the other aroace one) has had or is having relations with a girl. for some reason he alone decided ‘well. fuck. if i have to conform i’ll be the one who takes the fall i guess’
there’s just something so intense abt being aroace and not knowing how to rant or talk abt it properly bc ur still coming to terms with it and what it’s like for you and what’s tied to it and what isn’t and then seeing riz be the physical manifestation of all the anxieties and concerns ive felt or am currently grappling with bc im aro and knowing i can’t rant abt it to my friends bc of what those struggles stand as and are and how a lot of it isn’t anxiety but just a truth i cant deny or run from so i js get to occasionally live vicariously through him instead once every week
and if i said the basically confirmed upcoming arc of riz losing the idea that his friends will be his friends forever CONFIRMS that baron is coming back at some point this season with how baron is Literally a manifestation of riz's fears of abandonment and being left behind, made worse by how he loves his friends so much and can't see a future without them but they likely just don't feel the same. And, relating to that, if i said aroace riz Will become explicitly canon this season. because the. the. The . The Years Will Go By And Everyone Will Find Someone That Matters More To Them Than You [I AM FORCIBLY DRAGGED OFF STAGE]

Surely it has been talked about how Penelope Everpetal and Aelwyn Abernant were definitely, 1000% a thing before she was taken to jail+kidnapped to Fallinel and Penelope died
It’s kinda crazy that the events at the last few episodes of FHSY were glossed over (this is a very badly written ramble about how The Bad Kids are probably incredibly traumatised after sophomore year and it isn’t addressed much, or kind of at all)

Thinking about how The Bad Kids walked into the Forest of The Nightmare King after weeks of travelling, the constant threat that came with sleeping, being vulnerable in foreign lands and people, and that one of their best friends was kidnapped and only just retrieved with her months-of-tortured and previously evil sister a day or two ago.
And then they get to a skeleton-scattered temple of a forgotten god, their friend is violently murdered by a unicorn in front of their eyes, they do a whole bunch of drugs and after, on top of all of that, are tortured by their worst fears come to life?
Then The Bad Kids go on to face a colossal king— no, a god, AFTER having to shake off and give into their deepest fears with their war torn friends and family by their side, all for a school project worth 60% of their grade.
If Kristen Applebees had not hit that Nat 20 (tbf it had to have happened exactly that way but still), the fight would have spun out a very different way
The finale of FHSY fails narratively to address just the insane amount of emotional, mental and physical torture these children went through and because of the amount of real life time between seasons sophomore and junior year, I think we skipped over addressing that these kids are probably very traumatised
I know it won’t happen for a while but they need to bring back the NPCs in Fantasy High season 4 solely because *I* miss them a lot and one can only rewatch all 3 seasons of FH so many times over and over again before losing their minds

This, right here, is the moment that Dimension 20 hooked me.
In the split-second gap between the first and second halves of Murph’s question, you can almost see a switch flip in Brennan from giving an analytical, factual measurement to the spark of fully understanding the storytelling implications of Murph’s question.
As I watched him realize that the best possible choice for this exact moment is for the butthole to be goblin sized, I began to truly understand the narrative power of DnD and everyone at that table.

I see peoples belief that Aguefort "loves The Seven, couldn't care less about most other parties (including The Rat Grinders), and actively dislikes The Bad Kids" and raise you:
He loves and respects The Seven in the closest way Arthur Aguefort is physically capable of approaching towards a sensible mentor figure (which is still not very much)
He is neutral towards most other parties
AND he loves The Bad Kids except he is doing so in the way that an absolutely unhinged friend of your parents who calls himself your uncle cares for you (he is sleeping off a hangover on your couch, eating all your snacks, and engaging you in psychological warfare but also he has some wild stories to tell you while taking you into the woods and teaching you how to throw knives (if you promise not to narc on him to your parents))
something underrated about ayda aguefort in terms of autism rep is that she has a +3 to charisma. everyone who meets her agrees that she's cool as hell
can't believe jace was condemned to hell/prison because people think he's banging porter
i've been pretty distracted by all the sapphics this season so maybe someone pointed this out and i didn't see it but - jace was murdered and brought back under porter's control with a rage star, he was never evil at all as far as we know. but even before brennan said jace and porter are a 'duo' people have been shipping him with porter, so everyone just accepted that he was evil because yeah he's banging the evil guy. the bad kids burn a couple of him alive, one of them is arrested (and then also burned i think?) and his only crime was choosing to come back to life to worship a rage god which yeah after getting murdered by your coworker i think that's fair. he didn't know porter would control him because ankarna didn't know that porter was controlling anything, he was on that devil's honey.
imagine being brutally murdered out of the blue by your coworker, a nameless god offers to revive you if you'll worship her and then you come back to life only to realise it was the same fucking coworker who can now mind control you. and then you get murdered four more times and you stop being mind-controlled but no one wants to bring you back because they think you were fucking your murderer. the life of a twink.
