BEHOLD!!!!!!
i have never wanted anything more in my life than this little grumpy old-man frog. he is beautiful. he is majestic. but he is not mine :(
he would be king of the world if plushies could be elected into positions of power.
look at him. grumpy old man. oh, what woes burden your little froggy back, froggy man? he'd totally yell at kids for kicking their footballs onto his little toadstool garden and squashing his herbs.
Pixel Art animation !
It was the first time for me making pixel art ! I'm myself surprised of how good it turned out for a first try.
I had to do this for an entrance exam for an art school, and it took me almost 3 weeks from start to finish. Full time, between 3 hours, but mostly 6 or 7 hours per day, 7 days per week (while having classes).
I actually used blender to make the camera move. I animated a really simple scene, with balls to represent the firefly and the frog and only marks on the ground for the background. I rendered my 3D animation, and then used the images as a reference to draw in 2D. Wich mean... 60 frames, traced and colored by hand. Whelp, my poor wrist suffered...
I also had to include 15 color max (well, the color of the signature doesn't count). It really sets a pretty atmosphere !

Ok everybody here's the deal.
My science education nonprofit, Skype a Scientist (you might know her, creator of the squid facts hotline and matcher of classrooms + scientists) has secured absolutely no grants to support general operations for 2025. But! We're selling advent calendars to fund our program! They absolutely rule. They can save our nonprofit asses. If we sell 5000, which I realize, is so many, we can fund our program for 2025. Then I can offer a bunch of programming for free. Running a nonprofit is a weird job.
Every day, counting down to frankly whatever you want (it's usually Christmas, but man, maybe you want to count down to Halloween, that's fine by me) scratch off the sparkly sparkly iridescence and reveal a fact about frogs! We have 24 top-notch frog facts here.
You should get one for every kid in your life, then get one for all the adults who still let themselves access joy in critters.

I finally used the light box I made a year ago, photography is not my strong suit to say the least, but if I ever want to set up a shop or grow a following I have to figure it out!

K so I bought a polyurethane varnish and tested it on some frogs that weren’t up to scratch. It adds another step to possibly mess up but I think it looks more professional? But not everyone likes that look! Anyway, help me out here. (And peep the army in the back)
These were the very first frogs I made! I started during quarantine and couldn’t stop. These first guys were smaller and not as blended so they broke easily, but they have a special place in my heart ❤️ 🐸

FROG ROSS
Remember how I said I'd post photos of the frog earrings and never did it? Yeah, here they are. It's only been like... 3 months? (I made my baby sister model these for me lol)
