The back of my fun ghoul vest that I decided to pump out all today. The big PANSY text is traced and made out of this stuff that is supposed to deter birds from backyards and duct tape.

The other stuff is acrylic. Guns are based off of franks tramp stamp lower back tattoo, traced and filled in freehand. The target was a stencil!!!!! God i love stencils.

Gonna start on my fun ghoul cosplay,,, I'm excited!! I like making stuff. I just don't know how I'm going to make his gun.. maybe out of pvc pipes? Help!!!

Mkay so I get that we all really want a killjoy movie but consider this too, a killjoy video game. You get to create your own killjoy, join the Fab Four or make your own group, fight against the BLI/nd, complete mini side quests that also add even more to the lore and idk just be a killjoy.

Ooo I love it! It really has that ‘calm moment in the midst of storms’ vibe, like I feel the tranquility of the moment but also the tinge of melancholy that comes from the constant danger of being a Killjoy. It has a soft bittersweetness.

Anyways, future me here, just combing back through my drafts for anything with a Christmas vibe. I spotted the Christmas lights (and, once I increased my screen brightness, Poison’s sweater). So, have some Christmas Killjoys :) 

FINISHED FINALLY Gee and Frank as Party Poison and Fun Ghoul at the California desert

Hmm, I could list a few things I've seen that strike me as fairly common, though of course they'll be different for everyone. These are just generalizations I feel like I see crop up a lot; maybe they'll help you get your feet wet with the fandom’s lore.

Obviously, the Fab Four are barely in the comic, but there seem to be some commonalities to their characterization that the fandom has built. For example, I feel like Fun Ghoul is typically fairly chaotic, probably the most so out of the main four, and on the reckless side. He’s probably the funniest. Also, he’s often skilled with explosives and quite fond of blowing things up. Party Poison is the leader, sassy, and often has a temper. Party laughs loud and shouts louder. I think Poison is also the one of the Fab Four most frequently cast as non-binary, but the gender of all the characters varies quite widely across fanon. There was a movement recently against Jet Star being cast as the Mom Friend, but I feel like he's still widely regarded as sort of a mediating force and generally a bit more on the thoughtful side, though obviously they can all be wild at times (there’s a certain minimum of chaotic energy required to be a Killjoy). Kobra Kid typically loves his motorcycle and likes to race it; I feel like he's usually kind of a cool dude(tm), or at least tries to be. And, naturally, Kobra and Party are almost always siblings.

Outside of the Fab Four, Cherri Cola writes poetry and has a poetry corner segment on his radio show; he's usually sweet and rather melancholy. Show Pony is even more chaotic than Ghoul, highly flirtatious, and even more widely headcanoned as nonbinary than Poison--I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone use "he" pronouns for Pony (though the actor in the music videos does for himself, but that’s not really relevant to fanon about the character). Dr. Death-Defying is something of a guardian of all the Killjoys, borderline omniscient at times with his radio broadcasts, and he serves as the grounding force behind a rowdy, chaotic gaggle of teenage rebels. His couch is always there for new Killjoys to crash on. He’s a comforting presence and a source of wisdom (though again, I’d say a certain amount of chaotic energy is present in all Killjoys, Dr. D included). 

Anyways, I'm basically trying to summarize the headcanons of a bunch of people at once, and as it’s been said before, things are different for everyone. Just because I see these as throughlines for these characters doesn’t mean that they will be for everyone. But, those are some general impressions I’ve gotten through the fandom.

Also I realize I really only went for basic character descriptions, rather than anything about the setting or other lore, so let me know if there’s any other area of fanon I should attempt to sum up and I’d be happy to try :) 

Could you maybe give a crash course on killjoy fanon? Like I read the comic and I just got here and I’m hella confused. I almost feel like I read a different comic than y’all lol

Okay my answer won't be good, you came to the wrong blog for something coherent, but if anyone sees this and would like to add on, please do!

I'm gonna start by saying basically there's just what little canon they gave us and you just make what you want with it, your own set of hcs and worlbuilding and characters' races and sexualities and genders and whatnot, it's free real estate.if the canon doesn't spark joy, you can throw it away,have fun with this.

Although I could also see Ghoul really enjoying a kick wheel too, because there's just something so delightfully tactile about giving big leg-flopping kicks against a large metal disk to make your pottery spin... I always found it more satisfying than the electric wheels so maybe I'm just projecting, but I feel like Ghoul would also vibe with the sensation of using kick wheels.

Ooh, and also, if they couldn't make it out to the kiln sometimes, they could always try a pit firing! It would be a good excuse for a nice big bonfire with the crew, and then the pottery would have a cool, smokey look to it, even unglazed (I think?)--like this:

Of course, the bonfire might risk drawing the attention of Dracs, but then again we know they do canonically have fires at night sometimes... Ooh I just decided my new headcanon for the campfire scene in Na Na Na is now that they were doing a pit firing! (Or you could always just pit fire during the day when it would be less obvious, but I’m just enjoying the thought of this.)

Anyways. Fun Ghoul does pottery. There’s a wheel in the diner, and they got it to operate off battery power, and they drag Kobra out on clay-finding missions, since he’s got such a skill for finding water. They make all their own tools for it, and stuff is mostly unglazed. There’s a working kiln at a studio in Zone Two, and every other month they load up the Am with one of the others and drive out to it.

They’ll make functional pieces whenever someone breaks a few too many plates by mistake, or clay shells for certain kinds of bombs, but mostly they make abstract, rarely-useful pieces, all warped and twisting, halfway between sculpture and dream. Sometimes they handbuild pieces on after throwing it on the wheel.

i am bored and have had A Long Day so have some party poison headcanons:

•they/them (obviously). their gender is simultaneously every gender and no gender at the same time

•they have borderline personality disorder. this caused them to be extra medicated back in the city. now, they’re finally off of any and all pills, and they’re learning how to actually live with their disorder. loves reading books about mental health, and trying to figure out how to take care of themself.

•speaking of drugs, poison quit the city pills before they escaped the city. they quickly fell into other pills and drugs in the zones though. it was familiar, and it made their brain shut up for once. they have very bad PTSD, more than anyone in the zones. they don’t know just how bad it actually is, and they’ll never speak of it, but the other three know just by the way poison is. they got clean after moving into the diner. they felt safe for once, and the other three were so supportive in keeping them off of drugs. it’s hard to deal with flashbacks and all of that; every day has to be taken one step at a time with them, but they’re making it through.

•loves dancing. more than anything, really. get them drunk and on a dance floor, and their smile is wider than you’ll ever see it. they love parties and clubs, until they don’t and they’re ready to go home. they’ll dance for hours, and all of a sudden they’ll go over to one of the other three and poke them on the shoulder and that’s when they all know they’re getting overstimulated and want to go home and crash.

•yknow how i said they love dancing more than anything? well i lied. the one thing they love more than dancing is singing. they’ll take the AM and go on drives where they sing for miles and miles to whatever’s on the radio. ghoul and kobra make them tapes of their favorite songs, and sometimes the four of them will have carpool karaoke.

•goes for drives to clear their head. they’re normally not allowed to go alone, unless one of the others approves it (poison once wrecked an old car of theirs while angry driving, they don’t wanna talk about it). normally ghoul will go with them, riding shotgun with poison’s hand in theirs. poison drives until they can’t remember what was bothering them when they first turned the key.

•surprisingly a very good cook. them and jet love to cook for the others when they have the ingredients to. poison’s favorite is what they call ‘slutty pasta,’ it’s pasta with a shitload of cheese melted into the sauce. yes, it does make them sick. yes, they will eat it anyway.

•loves looking cute all of the time. even their pajamas are somehow cute and coordinated.

•cannot own un-modified clothes. they have to personalize everything, and they’ve got a whole booth in the diner reserved for whatever patches they’re painting or skirt they’re making or jacket they’re embroidering. dr. death gives the fab four almost all of the art supplies he gets; between poison and kobra they blow through paints and glues and threads and things.

•sketchbooks sketchbooks sketchbooks. they’ve got two right now that they’re working on. they’ll glue/tape little things to the pages, so it’s sort of like a scrapbook with art and writing in it. they will tape literal garbage in it, though. they’ve got the butt of their first cigarette out of the city, a list someone gave them of thrift shops out in the zones, a piece of paper bag ghoul used to scoop weed grounds one time, and so on. the others poke fun of them for this, but they really love how sentimental poison is. show pony has a polaroid camera, and loves to take pictures of their friends and give them the little prints. poison glues them all into their sketchbooks, and looks through them when they’re having a bad day.

•in eating disorder recovery, killjoy style. they hardly ate when jet and ghoul found them and kobra, and they’re trying so hard to help them recover. if poison is struggling to eat a meal in front of them, ghoul will go “hey poison. you’re a pussy if you don’t eat that mac and cheese.” or “you’re not a real killjoy if you don’t eat all those chicken nuggets,” all while sporting a shit-eating grin. poison and kobra have gotten themselves both to a healthy weights finally, and everyone couldn’t be happier.

•cigarettes are their one true love. they first started smoking when they were fourteen. they dislike vaping (even though it’s become quite the fad in the zones, ever since people started smuggling them out of the city), they vaped for around a year and it killed their lungs. cigarettes only for poison, and they’d have it no other way.

•yknow how i said they decorate their clothes? well they also decorate the diner. they’ll hang up art made by them or kobra all over the walls of the diner, and they let kobra paint straight onto the walls.

•loves science for some reason? dr. death gives them all sorts of books on biology and animals and ecosystems and such, and they absolutely love it. they wanna be a biologist in another life. they love teaching the others about shit they read, like animal facts and such. kobra will listen to poison infodump for hours.

party poison coming home from some party out in the zones a little too drunk. they stumble in the door and everyone immediately wakes up, they’re crashing into walls and knocking things over and jet runs to help steady them. they sit them down at a booth and they fall over and shut their eyes :( ghoul and kobra are squished by their side trying to wake them up and get them water, while jet’s in the kitchen heating up whatever leftovers they’ve got. ghoul and kobra eventually wake them up, as jet sits across from them. poison sits upright slumped over the table, making a little too much eye contact with jet. their eyes are trying so hard to roll back and close but they’re trying so so hard to stay awake as jet spoon feeds them and ghoul occasionally holds a straw with water to their lips.

‘you gotta cut back honey’ ghoul says into their ears. ‘it’s every night now you’re comin’ home wasted’

‘iknowiknowiknow’ poison slurs and ghoul just wraps his his arms around them. ‘’m soberin’ up n’ i don’t wanna’

jet looked at poison with just a twinge of hurt in her eyes. ‘too bad, you need to sober up. you can’t walk in a straight line let alone do anything else. keep drinking water and please eat another bite or two for me’ she says as she strokes poison’s hand gently.

they hated being sober. but with jet and ghoul and kobra? being sober all of a sudden didn’t seem too scary anymore.

kobra kid has dermatillomania. he’s absolutely covered in scars from his own nails. the others try to help him stop by holding his hands at all times. he hates his scars so so so much but the others find them adorable. they’re like little stars that litter his body.

im not projecting at all leave me alone.
