Imagine how sad and distressed Peter was when was thrown through the portal though- at least in some of my headcanons, Peter and Egon bonded and knew each other first (maybe in this version, since they’re not brothers like the Stan twins they’d be childhood friends who swore on researching and traveling the world together) so seeing him just… disappear like that has to hurt..
Hey Bird, it’s Sweater with another question Omg For Ghostfalls, would Peter and Egon argue as much as Stan and Ford did? And would the whole “Grammar, Stanley” situation (aka the fight at the Cipher Wheel) and the portal fight happen?
Idk, I’m just curious if it would be similar to the canon gravity falls, where a fight ended up with Egon thrown into another dimension… and Peter faking his death and switching identities…

And I think yes! Now I know they don't exactly fight in the movies, but I can imagine them bickering. (I might be mixing up my memories but for some reason I have the memory of the "bought to kick this guys butt ill post later," and "nvm I got demolished" meme and it was Peter and Egon... am I thinking of the Reagan and Sans thing??)
Anyways...
Wow I never explained who the ghostbusters actually are in this au... okay okay so instead of eventually going into the business of ghostbusting, they are still at the college with their research lab, still young and college buddies. (I think this would include Winston too! I don't want him to be a later addition) Anyways, at some point Egon discovers something insane, a place with so much strange paranormal and werid energy. He goes to explore it before the others and when he actually discover all the stories of strange creatures are real he calls Ray over to do research with him and start building the portal, eventually Gozer starts to show themselves and then the portal incident happens, Ray leaves and... well you know what happened to McGucket... Egon almost finishes the portal but then discovers the truth about gozer, going almost crazy trying to get rid of all trace of the portal. I want to say he goes back to the college and takes all their equipment like in the movies.. but if he's wanting to get rid of the portal he wouldn't need tech? (it would give a good reason for Peter to be mad at him) Anyways Winston won't answer so he calls Peter, who is very confused because they haven't had contact in many years, he sees Egon looking terrible and almost crazy. Egon begs him to help get rid of the journals and trys to explain everything but it's just a bit too complicated for Peter to understand it all. Egon doesn't want to tell him exactly what happened and why he wants to close the portal exactly, only to keep him safe. Peter gets annoyed that he has no idea what's happening and trys to burn the journals because Egon said to get rid of them, but suddenly Egon trys to stop him from getting rid of his research. (I think that's how that happened in the show between Ford and stan) A fight breaks out and one thing to another, Egon stumbles and is thrown into the portal. Leaving Peter in the huge room alone, without the knowledge to get him back, and what he ment with the finals words about a world ending danger...
I don't think Peter would necessarily fake his death and change identitys because it wouldn't make such sense since they don't look alike. But he would definitely turn Egons "Dirt" house into the "Psychic Shack" with the ruse of a tourist attraction that actually supports him financially.
Well actually he might atleast steal his last name just so he can attempt to make the kids think he's their grandpa

i actually had a ghostbusters and Fnaf crossover in a dream a couple days ago what (if I remember right, the og four guys were the dead kids possessing the animatronics… idk how my brain did that but ok go on I guess- it was actually a decent dream tbh)

For Ghostfalls would the stuff from the Book of Bill (or maybe in this case the Gozerian Codex from the video game?) still be canon? I don’t wanna spoil anything if you don’t want any so I’m not adding specific stuff in this ask, but I’m curious!

Like since we don't necessarily know gozers backstory it would work with having bills. Except I feel like to make them less sympathetic maybe they destroyed their original dimension on purpose.
I will say I haven't exactly read the whole book of bill, my little brother got it so I gotta "steal" it from him inorder to learn more. BUT I do have a super old hand me down journal 3 so I can get some ideas from there!

ANYWAYS instead of the erratic and unpredictable nature of Bill, Gozer is much more threatening and robotic. Like a mountain lion, quiet and easily hidden. Before you spot them your already dead.

She's definitely more professional than Blendin and would pose more of a threat when Pheeb and Trev steal her time travel devise. She wouldn't necessarily be a antagonist, but more of a person they pissed off. Oh and when she's possessed by gozer and tricks phoebe into giving her the rift....

The two original Ghostbusters movies read like a DND campaign.
Like that fucking marshmallow guy fight. Venkmann constantly trying to seduce everything in sight. The unhinged energy. The interactions with authority figures. The vibe that they have some sort of inside joke going on with whatever higher power runs this universe.
