how do i prolong love?
it’s as if I poured gasoline on my heart
lit it up
and expected it not to burn out in an instant.
I want the kind of love that smolders,
the kind that may not be passionate,
but ever present, ever warm, ever burning.
come lie with me in the embers, dearest.
we can curl up on the coals
and burn together.
I'm working by the fire because it is so cold today

Some time ago, I realised that rock is my favourite genre of music, since I discovered It's my life of Bon Jovi. A few years later, I discovered the band H.E.A.T., which has a style like Bon Jovi's, but their songs are a bit harder, and I loved it.
Now, I've tried to get into metal (although I don't like pure metal, I prefer hard rock), and there are some songs that I like. I don't think it will last long, I don't enjoy it as much.
But one band that has really caught my attention, for their rhythms, melodies, meaning of the lyrics of some of their songs... is Mägo de Oz. It's a Spanish folk metal band (it's not as metal as others, and I love it, especially their folk style). Their most famous song is Fiesta pagana.
Well, this group has a lot of songs whose rhythms keep me in awe, such as La danza del fuego (especially this one), El que quiera entender que entienda, Bandera negra or Molinos de viento.
Voy a escribir esa parte aquí.
However, the most important, because of its significance, is La cantata del diablo. In this song they criticise traditional religion, that is to say, the religion of the time of the Inquisition, as well as the current one (and I love that, I am an atheist and I don't find any logic in religion, since it was created because in the past humans couldn't explain things and they gave everything a divine explanation). The point of this post is the part of the song when they clearly say why they write the song, from minute 19 (the song lasts 21 minutes 😳). In that part he doesn't sing, he just talks, and in the back is the melody that I like the most in the song. I'm going to write that part here. It is best to listen to it if you know Spanish and like this kind of songs (you can also listen to it if you don't know Spanish, in order to enjoy the rithm).
Lyrics of the end and translation:
Padre nuestro, ciego sordo y desocupado
¿Por qué nos has abandonado?
Our Father, of us all
Of the poor, the homeless
Of the marginalised and the unprotected
Of the disinherited and the masters of misery
Of those who follow you and of those who no longer believe in you
Come down from the heavens
For here is Hell
Come down from your throne
For here there is war, famine, injustice
You need not be one and triune
Just one who wants to help
Would be enough for us
What is your kingdom? The Vatican?
Banking? High Politics?
Our kingdom is Nigeria, Ethiopia, Colombia, Hiroshima.
Our daily bread is rape
Gender violence
Pederasty, dictatorships
Climate change
I am tempted every day
There is not a morning in which I am not tempted to create a humble, righteous God
A God who is on earth
In the valleys, the rivers
A God who lives in the rain
Who travels through the wind
And caresses our soul
A God of the sad, of the homosexuals
A more human God
A God who does not punish, who teaches
A God who doesn't threaten, who protects
If I fall, he will pick me up
If I lose my way, he holds out his hand to me
A God who, if I err, will not blame me
And if I doubt, he understands me
For that is why he endowed me with intelligence
To doubt everything
Our Father, of all of us
Why have you forgotten us?
Our Father, our blind, deaf and unoccupied Father
Why have you forsaken us?
I just wanted to raise awareness among people who believe in it. I am not against them or against religion at all, on the contrary, everyone has the right to believe in whatever they want. What I don't like is how the members of the Church take advantage of these devout people, even going so far as to "steal" them and radicalise them.
I would also like to increase the repertoire of songs of whoever reads this, if you like this style, of course 😉.
