JD Headcanons
He was born in Ohio, just a larger city in Ohio.
They moved to Texas before he started school.Â
As a kid before his mom died he was very active; running, jumping, climbing on trees and all that. He was speedy and hard to catch. But since he was very animated/loud a lot of kids were intimidated by him and he didnât have too many close friends.
One of his fav activities with his mom was reading with her, sheâd read to him and give him things to read. At a young age he was already at a pretty advanced reading level
His mom died when he was 10; at which point he became much quieter and closed off.Â
After she died was when he started moving around, before then theyâd been more or less stationary because JD could be left at home with his mom while his dad went off on businessÂ
His relationship with his father is forged mostly out of severe neglect. His father wasnât close to him as a kid- and then once his mom was dead then he had to raise him he didnât know how to treat a kid. He raised JD based on the assumption that he was older than he actually was which put a lot of undue responsibility on him.Â
Since his dad was never outright physically violent, if JD had lived it would have been a long time until he realized just how terrible he was to him. ((âDo you like your fatherâ âI never gave the matter much thoughtâ))
Due to moving as much as he did all through middle school and high school he didnât have any friends. Kids made fun of him and bullied him until he learned to fight back at which point they left him alone.
Tired of being called into the principles office about it, his dad tried to enroll him in some martial arts classes. Since he wasnât at a school long enough to actually join a team (where heâd likely do track)
Knows how to steal small things like candy easily.
He like pets, but canât really have one due to moving save for a hamster which he  named Salinger.Â
It wasnât until Sherwood that they actually bought a house, before then it was mostly long term hotels. Sometimes with 2 rooms so heâd get his own, but usually his dad would have a room and heâd be on the pullout couch in the âliving roomâ with a majority of their stuff in storage.Â
He has severe depression, used self harm as an outlet for his anger starting around when he was 15 which is when he started wearing the trench coat. His father never noticed - just like he never noticed with his wife.
He would not have killed if the thing with Chandler hadnât happened. It sent him on a spiral that he couldnât come out of. Her death was an accident he expected her just to get really sick from.Â

You know something Iâve always found interesting about the movie Heathers is that despite it being a majority female cast and a movie explicitly about people being bad people by far the most deplorable actions that happen are done by the very few male characters in the show. Like of course the heathers are terrible people who deserve punishment for their actions but they are ultimately bullyâs not criminals(though if it was up to me bullies would also serve at least a day) and out of the four main/side male characters three of which commit some kind assault( in JDâs case Assaultâs)
Itâs just wild to me that only JDâs father whoâs used mostly for gags, the principal who we never see and heather chandlers ex Peter both of which have so few screen time that they are hardly even side character.
Just to be clear this is not to excuse the actions of any characters in Heathers they all suck thatâs the point.

Jd got a redesign, I said I wasn't gonna make an au. But me and my friends rambling gave me an idea for an au, though it isnt that original. It's going to be a pet au, and jd isnt just some random cat breed he is a bombay.
He keeps on getting sent back to his shelter for being a bit too aggressive.
