ESOTERIC DUMPSTER VOL. 1, ISSUE #1: "CALM BEFORE THE STORM"
***POSTING LATE IT IS OFFICIALLY 2025 NOW but everything I said still stands. It is Monday, October 7th, and I've been consuming copious amounts of archived ROOKIE magazine posts because with the dying leaves, (and, cough cough, HURRICANE MILTON) an overwhelming nostalgia has really kicked in, as well as anticipation for my last trick-or-treat-able Halloween. This may only be on my mind because my little brother is turning 16 in a few days, but I feel like everybody makes a big deal about turning 16 and 18 without considering how damn weird it feels to be 17. Seventeen is like a placeholder for a future you can't have yet. Seventeen is antsy to be an adult and also scared shitless that it won't be a kid for much longer. Seventeen takes blurry, desperate pictures on ancient digital cameras to stretch single moments into fascinations. Seventeen takes its time. It doesn't want to be over this soon. Seventeen is a liminal space we are happy to dwell in for as long as we can before we realize the cotton candy, knit sweater POVs that "Perks" sold us, while beautifully iterated, are not true. We are not infinite in these bodies. Some of us don't have friends magically appear on the first day of freshman year, like Charlie. The Rocky Horror Picture Show might as well be lost media at this point, and good cinema like it might as well be replaced by artificially scripted, acted, and animated movies. Here I am wondering why we're so nostalgic and lost-feeling at seventeen, but the answer actually seems obvious. There is nothing organically good on the horizon for us- AI movies might be the headcanon for the younger generation of suckers who didn't ask to be born. World War Three might not make anyone bat an eyelash. We cling to the past because it was creative and real, and there's something missing from our lives now that we seek to fill with empty content. I'm rambling, I realize that. It's a beautiful night tonight, the sunset was spectacular. The air is cooling, the clouds are dark but removed. This is the "calm before the storm". So, here's few photos of me and my friends yesterday night as we swam at the beach and hung around a lifeguard chair in a subtle, unconscious attempt to make ourselves infinite while we still have the chance, before a storm both literal and figurative. INFINITE AND CHIMERA FANART: Shenanigans Edition by the wonderful @n0bluev!!!
*annoying chirp noises* IS SO HILARIOUS! Infinite is just as annoying as Gojo Satoru in canon ;) Perhaps more so because Infinite can screech like a banshee unprompted. This made me giggle so much to see Chimera do the classic Megumi Move: "Fool me once, I kill myself".
I adore the blob Chimera in this! Blob Chimera is best Chimera. He does use this form in the story, and this really makes me want to include it more! Besides Overtime, Infinite definitely enjoys targeting Chimera the most. Some things never change, even if the world is reset from the beginning <3
Thank you so, so much @n0bluev for all this wonderful fanart! It's an honor, and it reminded me as to why I started writing in the first place. Bit cheesy, but it's true. I love writing stories that people will enjoy or make them happy (despite all the angst I include aha) It's one of the best compliments for a writer to receive. However, I treasure each kudos, comment, like, bookmark, etc. from my readers. Y'all are the best!

Another beautiful piece by @n0bluev! I was astonished that they drew something from my story again. It means so much for a silly little fanfic writer like me to get such amazing fanart.
It's the goopy boi! Chimera looks amazing in this! He looks mysterious and cool and AHH
I could not draw the goop nor his eyelights, and this fanart captures it so well! The green is the only color I wanted on him, and it truly pops. They also included the ability Chimera has to shift his eyelights around. AH! He just looks so awesome in this! This piece really shows the ink I imagined he would be made of. The same ink Megumi's domain has. I could never get it right when I drew him. But look! HE'S SO GOOPY AND INKY! It's just as amazing as the Infinite fanart I received. (I definitely did not praise that work enough! Infinite looks amazing and the bandages were done so well as well as his fur and talons. He's THE bird boi)

Infinite looks so amazing in this! This is almost an exact copy of what I imagine him to look like in my head! I could never draw Infinite in the way that I imagine him, but @n0bluev drew him perfectly! It's so so good, and I get giddy every time I see it! Having someone draw such great art for your fanfic is something I never imagined before. I'm still in shock about all the lovely feedback I receive on my fic! You all are truly incredible <3
Cursed Guardian Concept Designs: Infinite
Cursed Soul Gojo! Here are some of the designs I ran through. I cant draw for shit but hopefully this helps visualize our bird better.
The first image (top left) is my first idea of his design. It was in my head before I even finished the first chapter of the story. The concept of his mask, beak, and feathers stayed. He no longer has a humanish body.
Second design (top right) Tried drawing his with the feathers but it looks terrible. I cant draw fur or feathers properly, so please look at it as placement marks. I tried giving him a longer neck and wrapping it in his mask. Didn’t have enough room to draw his tail so it just became a blob. It’s what surrounds you if you dare look at our boy Yuuji the wrong way.
Third design (bottom) Looked up eastern dragon references and birds. Couldn’t draw the talons whatsoever :,) I tried. Finally got around to showing off his segmented body tho! His feathers are still there but i didn’t draw them in his fur. I decided to try added the bandages from JJK 0 instead of making it all his black mask but I’m unsure which I prefer.
Things to help imagine him! (Guide for me to keep his design consistent ^^)
- Infinite is based on an eastern dragon and predatory birds (mostly harpy eagles
- Infinite’s tail is made entirely out of smoke (not feathers anymore)
- Infinite’s mask covers his eyes and he has it wrapped around his neck
- Infinite can appear as a fog of eyes instead of fully manifesting
- Infinite’s beak is hooked and serrated
- Infinite’s body is segmented not connected
- Infinite is as loud as a bird and sounds like one! Aka he is the most annoying
