A little short story to the ongoing one I have because all my progress got stumped when I accidentally wrote it out on my other account so I have to rewrite itš
Enjoy!!!
It's currently pouring outside. You're staring out the window quietly, trying to figure out what to occupy yourself with for the day before you hear the front door to the living room open.
"Oh, hey Sae!" you say with a small smile, watching him walk into the shared apartment holding a bag of food from the grocery store down the street. You get up to quickly grab it from him so he can dry himself from the lack of umbrella.
"Hey," he says, dull expression staying the same.
"Are you making dinner tonight or is it my turn?" you ask, setting the bag on the counter. Both you and Sae started spitting the meal cooking to yourselfs after quickly finding out, shidou would burn the whole house down if he tried.
"It's my turn tonight," he says, walking to his room to dry off.
You're grabbing the ingredients out of the bag before shoving it into the little bag that holds the other bags and putting the ingredients away for later that night.
"Why do you even keep those bags? It's not like we don't have the money to get some if needed," he says from behind you, making you jump before replying.
"My dad did it, plus why not save money? Who knows when we'll need them," you giggle at the inquiry like you haven't already explained it twice to him. "Plus, if it really bothers you, I'm surprised you haven't thrown them out." You look back at him, shrugging.
Ping!
You grab your phone at the notification, quickly opening it. "Ryu says he'll be home soon." Not exactly what he said, but the gist of it.
"Tell him I said just don't come back," Sae says. You stick your tongue out at him before setting the phone down and sitting back on the couch, holding the mail Sae had put in the grocery bag to keep it from getting soaked in the rain.
Looking through the mail, a letter with your name neatly written on it catches your eyes. Setting the rest down, you stare at itāyour mother's name. How did she even find your address?
Setting the letter down and sighing, you glare at it as if it would disappear if you glared hard enough.
"What's that?" Sae asks with slight curiosity in his voice, before slowly looking at the door clicking open.
"I'm home!" You hear Shidou shout, dragging out the end of "home" with a playful voice. You're still dead-staring at the letter.
"Hey Ryu," you say, in a whole other dimension, staring at that damned letter. After a moment, Shidou swings himself onto your back, hanging off the couch. You look back at Saeāhe has his head propped up with his hand looking at you before picking up the letter.
"Ooo~ what's that?" Shidou says in the same playful tone, snatching it from the redhead, causing Sae to look at him and sneer.
"It's a letter from her mom," Sae says, causing Shidou to grimace before ripping it open, already knowing what transpired between the two of you.
You watch him skim through it before handing it to Sae with the same grimace, then watching Sae read it with a bored expression before ripping it up.
"It's not important enough for your attention," he says, getting up and kissing your forehead before disappearing into the room, not giving you a chance to protest.
"I'm heading out," Shidou says plainly with a tick mark on his forehead, but not before also giving you a kiss on the head and ruffling your hair.
'Didn't even give me a chance to respond to any of it,' you pout, being left alone on the couch.
It's already an hour later, and you've preoccupied yourself watching TV and scrolling through Instagram.
Sae walks into the room with a smug smile on his face, holding his phone up to his ear and grabbing his keys. "Come, (name), we are heading out," he says, slipping on his shoes.
"Where are we going?" you look at him, brow raised, wary of his smug look.
"Bailing that devil out of jail," he says, wiping his face of the smirk he'd previously held, jiggling the keys in his hand while holding the front door open for you as you slip your shoes on.
It's not part two but a little peak into the future of the storyš¤
Also I kinda skimmed through it so I might have some mistakes!!!
Ryusae x reader
This will eventually be a ryusae x reader but I'm going for a slow burn rn, starting with Sae first then building up to shidou making his way into this. So please bare with me!!
This will also be filled with angst
Part 1
Warning!! This has a lot of mature themes including abuse, smoking, thoughts of harm to others, and sexual themes!!!
"Cut that out, (Name)! I can hear your foot tapping from a mile away." A voice cuts through the silence, yanking you from your thoughts as you stare blankly at the shattered porcelain scattered across the floor, with your mother glaring at you angrily.
"Yes ma'am, sorry Momma," you reply hastily, careful not to provoke her further. Who knows what she might do if you test her patience right now. You'd probably need more than the cigarette you're desperately craving to maintain your sanity.
"God, how did I end up with such a worthless child?" she mutters venomously, pausing before continuing, You figure staying quiet would be better than to speak your mind, anything you say will only make it worse. "Do you not want to answer me? You're a disrespectful little brat, you know that?" Before you can respond, she interjects sharply, "Clean it up before the guests arrive, and the table better be set properly as well." She storms out of the room, radiating anger with every step. And ohh, how you resented her, wishing it had been her head they broke on.
Picturing it in your head with a scowl. You glare bitterly at the broken plates littering the floor, but nevertheless begin cleaning the mess. Meticulously picking up the jagged fragments, you dispose of them in the trash, wary of their sharp edges. You swiftly set the table, eager to escape the suffocating atmosphere of the house as soon as humanly possible. Tiptoeing out of the room, trying to leave undetected, you slip on your shoes and quickly exit, gently pulling the door closed behind you, The crisp night air envelops you immediately, prompting a blissful sigh of relief, yet shivering at the sudden cold hitting you. 'Probably should have thrown on a thicker coat.'
Taking in the fresh air, staring at the stars shining down beautifully, the moon lighting up the sky, it makes you smile slightly. You reach into your pocket to grab what you actually came out here to do, retrieving a cigarette case. Upon opening it, dread washes over you as you realize you've lost your lighter somewhere in the mess of your room. With an exasperated groan, and your feet moving to walk in the direction toward the convenience store.
"Woohooo!" you silently celebrate, dragging out the word. Throwing your hands out in the air, when you finally reach your destination, lights shining brightly in the dark, a small smile playing on your lips as you approach the entrance. Peaking inside before you cross the threshold into the store. The loud chime announces your arrival as you step inside, letting the door swing shut behind you, oblivious to someone following closely behind.
A resounding thud startles you. Glancing back, you realize with horror that you've just slammed the door into another person! Oh shit he looks pissed too fuckkk.
You instinctively reach out to help, but they brusquely swat your hand away, fixing you with a piercing glare. He has some beautiful eyes. You're immediately pulled back into reality when you realize he's staring at you like you just tried to bash his head in.
"I'm so sorry, sir!" You wish the ground would open up and swallow you whole as he stares daggers at you, his teal eyes boring into your very soul. Face contorting into disgust. What am I a rat.
"Whatever," the man mutters icily, averting his gaze before briskly disappearing down an aisle. Your just left there staring at the red headed man.
'Well, excuse, you jerk,' you think indignantly, making a face at his retreating form. 'Still need that lighter,' you remind yourself, returning your focus to the task at hand with a quiet hum. Grabbing a snack while you're next to them, making your way to the checkout counter.
I wrote this hyped up on so much red bull I should be deadšš
So close to writing fanfics again because y'all sleeping on the ryusae x reader fics ong
More random things in Blue Lock I find endearing:
LOOK AT THE HAND PLACEMENT OF SAE. JUST LOOK AT IT. LOOK. AT. IT. OHMYGOD I'M GONNA CRY.
Oh god.
It's tough to explain, but to see him supporting Rin's arm instead of the trophy makes me want to punch a wall. It feels like, "Yes, we won this together, Rin." OHMYGOD! AAAAAAAA!!!
I really don't think we have ever seen Noa coaching any player other than Isagi, so him silently rooting for Kaiser caught me off guard real hard. Of course, it doesn't seem like much of a big deal, but to see that Noa hadn't completely taken his eyes off of Kaiser and that he hadn't completely pulled away his trust from Kaiser hits a certain type of emotion in my heart.
Considering that Kaiser wants to win over Noa tooāa fact Noa, probably, knowsāmakes everything feel a bit.. bittersweet.
The above panel happened after Shidou scored a goal against Barcha and honestlyā
I mean, BM was next in line to face PxGāit's probably the reason why they were watching the match liveāand they were going to face Shidou which makes them rivals, and yet, when he does something cool, they all go, "WOOHOO! THAT'S COOL!!" instead of worrying or being jealous.
It's called sportsmanship, I guess?
It's sweet.
There's another translation, but I find the above one way better because it's so... soft.
I mean, Noa has always been shown as this cold, emotionless person who inhales and exhales logic, so it was sweet when he tried to reassure Kiyoraāwhen he showed some kind of compassion. It was like, "Hey, Kiddo! It's okay, don't worry, you'll play the next time! Cheer up!"
It also makes it sound like even if Kiyora were not to have the required stats for the next match, then Noa was prepared to against his own ideals and let Kiyora play regardless.
Sweet!
When Nagi got pissed off because Barou's violent behaviour nearly hurt Reo. Like, just look at that stance, he was ready to beat the crap out of Barou if Reo wouldn't have stopped him.
No matter what label you give Nagi and Reoālovers or friendsāyou can't deny that they are probably the best thing that happened to eachother.
I really want what they have.
They barely knew eachother and yet when these two started to brawl, they all intervened immediatelyāNanase and Isagi are literally hanging onto them with their dear life. It's tough to explain, but I found the gesture really sweet, like, they didn't know them! They could bash open their skullsāit wouldn't affect them at all and yet, they are trying to stop them!
Adorbs!!
Also, Chigiri was on the other side of the field, I guess. He came running!!! So sweet!
The way Bachira blindly believed in Isagi. Like, he had full trust that Isagi will come and play with him. He never doubted him at all! The healthiest duo of Blue Lock!
Also, look at his duck lips. Cutie.
Anybody who has shifted to a completely new place full of completely new people knows how good and relieving it feels when others make an effort to help you feel welcomed.
No idea if those three extra characters got selected in the tryouts or not, but they were nice. If Kaiser would've met them earlier, then they all would've surely been good buddies.
The way everyone instantly got mad at Shidou when he hurt Sendouāsweet! Also, the fact that they all refused to play if Sendou didn't play makes me giggle.
I adore bonds like these so much.

Pt: 1, 2, 3.
Probably the last of this series.
to me it feels quite obvious that rin still cares about sae quite a bit. quite literally almost all of rinās football career has been built around his brother, from the beginning of it to the u-20 match.
in the beginning, it started with rin thinking that sae looked cool and wanting to watch with his big brother play. then people realized he was actually pretty good at football himself, so he decided to start playing with sae because, āwhy wouldnāt playing football with your brother be fun?ā this is when football was fun, it was mostly just hanging out with his big brother and eating ice cream together. we also donāt really know much about this time in rinās life other than a few manga panels, so i donāt have much to say other than this is when got into football and he enjoyed it. i do feel like at first he mostly enjoyed it because he was playing with sae.
then, sae goes to spain, and this is when we first start to see changes in rinās football. itās in this stage that rinās football both becomes about getting better and is when he first starts to enjoy it without sae. it becomes about getting good enough so that he can still walk with sae on the path to becoming the two best strikers in the world. itās still enjoyable, but itās mostly fun because he knows that sae is going to come back and theyāre going to be great together. saeās going to come back and theyāll both have gotten better and football will be even more enjoyable.
then sae actually comes back, and itās apparent that all is not well. their confrontation happens and the football that rin had built up in the time that sae was away crumbled around him. football was no longer about playing with his brother, that had been made abundantly clear to him by sae himself. i imagine that it takes a bit of time for rin to decide what to do with himself after that. we just get a fade to black in the manga after rin and saeās confrontation in the manga, but we do know that it was in winter. i donāt know how seasons in japan work or when football season is, but i imagine that having rinās and isagiās big life changing moments happen on the same day would be kind of unlikely (but who knows, this is a sports manga and the timeline is blurry).
the next change to his football is likely when he gets the letter to blue lock. this is when football becomes a tool to use in the goal of proving sae wrong. proving that he did deserve to be part of saeās life, and that sae was in the wrong for saying what he did. football was now about making sae feel like rin did with the added weight of guilt. making sae feel guilty about how he treated rin when he returned from spain. blue lock is just a way for him to streamline that process. the facility gives him access to top trainers and training facilities, as well as the opportunities he needs to get back at sae. this football isnāt about enjoyment or happiness or anything that the football he played before was about. this football was about his anger and his need for revenge, at the same time it was also about his want for his older brother back. his want for his brother to love him like he used to, to wrap him up in his arms and take him out for ice cream and sit by the ocean with him. this football was football filled with grief over the fact that his relationship with his brother will never be the same because he is not good enough.
then the u-20 match happens, and this marks yet another change to rinās football. this is when sae manages to fully cement himself as a world class jerk in both my mind and in rinās. after this match rin is pissed off, like he is mad mad. he takes some of that anger out on isagi because heās a) the one that sae praised, and b) the one who walked up to rin who was clearly spitting mad and tried to have a conversation. but after the u-20 match, this is when rin starts to play football for himself. this is when rin lets go of playing for sae altogether, and i am so excited to see what that looks like. this is rin accepting that if saeās going to be a jerk to him for the rest of his life then heās not going to let him run it anymore. this is rin not letting go of all the bullshit that he went through with sae, but accepting that it happened and kind of moving on.
of course, this is all from rinās perspective. iād like to see what sae thinks of what went down between the two of them, itās likely much different than how rin views it.
at the time that iām writing this post (ch 231 of the manga is latest chapter) we havenāt seen any of our paris x gen pals since they chose their team, so that means we havenāt seen rin in a while. i feel like rinās new play style will be extremely interesting to see (especially from isagiās pov, itās like that boy canāt not wax poetry about rin), especially since pxgās mentor is julian loki. since heās in the same age range as all of blue lock itāll be interesting to see how he handles the team.
and the u-20 match really good writing, in my opinion. it really expands on rin and saeās relationship in way that hadnāt happened before and hasnāt happened since, at the time of this post, and that context is why i can even make this post.
hope that you enjoyed my ramblings about rin, i just think heās neat
the itoshi brothersā relationship is so complex and it makes me want to throw myself off a building so hard. spoilers to anime onlys, and spoilers for the u-20 arc onwards. if u dont wanna see then just scroll <//3 so anyways as i was saying, the itoshis
this is half analysis, half theory, part screaming, so like if u have anything u disagree w me on or anything u wanna add then please do
so obviously from the very start we can see how warped their relationshipās gotten ever since sae went to spain. rin focuses all his attention and efforts into getting better so he can crush sae, while sae doesnt even acknowledge his existence.Ā
at first, i only saw rinās side in this. i admit, up until i reread the manga and their backstory, i was thinking ab the situation solely from rinās perspective and ended up neglecting some details. most especially saeās reaction to the fallout, as well as some other minor details.
we can see from the suitcase than sae had just landed, and that his first instinct was to go to rin. his first priority was to go see his baby brother, with the intention of telling him about his decision regarding his soccer career. he obviously still cares about rin here, and we can see that as he didnāt ācompletelyā abandon their dream.Ā
for sae, his view on their dream shifted. after seeing how big the skill gap is between him and the world, he decided that he canāt be the best with rin as he is. especially as rin hasnāt had the opportunity to see how it actually is outside of japan. i think he shifted his view so that they can still be the best, just with him lifting up rin rather than being by his side. much like how reo shifted his view into becoming a midfielder so he can make nagi shine even brighterĀ
sae changed his resolve to become a midfielder, while he āentrustsā the original dream to rin. In his eyes, itās still their dream, as heāll still be the best with rin, just not as strikers. however, i donāt think he counted that rin would be completely attached to their original dream. well, either that or he was desperately hoping that rin would understand where heās coming from
to be completely honest i think it's the latter. as rin expressed his discontentment with saeās new resolve, we see in his eyes that heās frustrated. and then it all comes boiling over when rin yells āyouāre not the same brother i shared a dream withā
we can obviously see the hurt in his eyes before his face is masked by shadow. i think that deep down he already knew that rin wouldnāt accept his ānew dreamā but was still hoping he would. rin saying this was just the confirmation that he would, in fact, not accept it
again this post is half analysis half theory. personally i think that the brothers, in their own way, were trying to defend their relationship. rin wanted to keep the previous them, the them that were together in their dream always. sae wanted to preserve his relationship with rin somehow, seeing as how much he changed after his time in spain
sae, in his own way, is still trying to protect rin. at first, his original plan was to make rin the best striker by becoming the best midfielder. that way, rin isnāt alone when he finally faces the world. however, as rin didnāt want to give up on their dream, then sae decided that the best course of action was to destroy that dream so that rin wouldnāt get hurt any further
in my eyes this is the moment sae steels his resolve to shatter that dream. he then faces away from rin so his resolve doesnāt shatter, knowing that seeing his brotherās face in anguish will weaken that resolve
the fallout hurt both of them, but that hurt spiraled into two different responses. sae becomes completely aloof to rin, while rin begins to harbor a boiling āhateā towards sae.Ā
after the u-20 game, we immediately see that rinās āhateā for sae is in fact not hate. his first instinct is to call sae ānii-chanā a deeply affectionate title that hasnāt been said since that night. however, sae crushes rinās spirit by saying that isagi is the one that has the potential to change japanās soccer
now here i think sae, in his own, messed up way, is trying to motivate rin into becoming the best in the world. the worst part i think is that it works, as this is one of the critical moments that causes rinās way of thinking to change, with the other one being the fallout. here, crushing sae is no longer his āfirst and foremostā priority, and heās instead setting his sights on becoming the best, without anyone or anything holding him back
iām not very good at articulating my thoughts and there ARE some things i wanted to put here, but i couldnāt explain them in a way thatās coherent to anyone other than me. but the final thought im getting away with here is that ultimately, the brothers still havenāt given up on their dream, whether theyāre aware of it or not. by inadvertently giving rin motivation to become the best, sae is still giving rin a chance to catch up to him. in the same vein, rinās desire to catch up to and surpass sae is his desire to prove his worth to sae again
once again these are just my personal views on the relationship. i could be wrong, i could be right, i could be partially wrong or i couldve missed the point completely. either way i just needed to get that out of my brain. so if u have anything to contradict me with or anything to add, please feel free to do so! i love hearing ab other peopleās thoughts anyways <33
We as a society need to also make sae a freak im tired of fans making shidou the only freak like yes we know hes the freak master but let saeās freakiness shine.
Also i think that some ppl forget that sae wanted shidou first so letās not make him some guy who just barely tolerates shidous presence when we all know he wants shidou (heās just like me frfr)
one thing i wanna see in fics is sae being childishly jealous of charles cause he gets to spend more time w shidou now this can be in the cannon verse or even in school au fics n chat fics idk but itās just something that makes me giggle thinking ab
heres something iāve been slowly cooking:
After isagi scored the last goal the blue lock team were celebrating as the u-20 team stood still in defeat and fell exhausted to the bone. Shidou and Sae stood on the side lines impartial to the defeat on their hands. āSoo Sae baby can I get your number now! I pulled off the hat trick and you promised to gimmie your number no take backs!!ā Shidou threw himself at the midfielder clinging to his back.
Sae sighed and rolled his eyes and shoves the striker off him. āCant you wait till I shower. Be patient.ā Shidou frantically nods and grabs his hands dragging him towards the changing room.
āOf course I can be patient. āPatienceā is my middle nameā. Sae shakes his head and scoffs as he gets dragged by Shidou to the changing rooms. He takes the time to look at Shidous figure as he trails behind him. After all this time stuck with Shidou he didn't really get a good look at the male after breaking him out of his confines. Right after that they were heading straight to the u-20 hq(??) and that was it they went to the stadium and played the match.
Now Sae anticipated that Shidou would be⦠how should he say it. He anticipated that Shidouās ass would be big. To blankly say it.
His skill was beyond his expectations and so it made sense that his ass would be huge. Sae was a firm believer that by looking at an athletes ass you could tell how skilled they were and he was hardly ever proven wrong.
He kept his gaze on Shidous behind while replaying the goals that the striker made during the game. Shidou really was one of a kind he was erratic and instinctual on the field āexplosiveā in Shidous own words. Sae raised his gaze up only to find Shidou staring back at him wiggling his eyebrows a big grin on his face. āSoooo Mr midfielder you like what you seeā Shidou teases letting go of Saeās hand and sways his hips walking ahead of the other. The midfielder turns his head away looking to the side and speeds up and walks ahead of Shidou to get to the changing room. āHey!! Wait up Sae baby!!ā Shidou laughs and speeds up matching Saeās pace and skips along side him.
i will finish this eventually cause i made it my mission to overrun the saeryu tag cause my friend who i got to watch blue lock noticed how much itoshicest there was like itās stinky over there
