When I left for a while, Max drew a quick sketch with Mio and Sato next to him ToT! @maxinkress I promised to tell a little bit about Mio. In short, Mio has a "cursed soul". In the last post, I already wrote that her clan hid her existence because of a unclean soul. She has a kinda unusual cursed energy, which differs from the usual one that cursed spirits leave behind or sorcerers use in their techniques. Her cursed energy is denser, which makes its use, its release from the body and its control much more difficult. CU Mio is literally capable of hitting her body with too much ejection. At its core, it is an undeveloped cursed spirit of a special level that should have been formed from her soul, but her soul absorbed it during the formation. Mio's soul is tightly connected to this "unborn curse" and they cannot be physically disconnected, because on an instinctive level, it's trying to protect this soul. Because of the power of her soul, her CU has an endless generation tied to her negative emotions. The stronger her negative emotions, the denser and stronger CU is produced, which can destroy her body. This is closely related to the fact that this "curse" literally shares her soul and is "attached" to her nervous system. Because of this, Mio has peculiarities in the development and feeling of the world. She feels emotions a little differently. It is very difficult to describe Mio, but I will write more in the next posts about it :")
So far, I'm just thinking about how best to show and tell you how Mio's cursed technique works (it's still hard to do it in Eng lol). Therefore, I will tell you about the special relationship of the Noriko sisters owo To fully understand the picture, I still have to tell you about the Amaterasu Omikami clan, but it can wait. In short, the clan is obsessed with the so-called "purity of the soul.". Mio was born with a "cursed soul", which is why her existence was hidden by the clan. Mio literally spent all 16 years of her life locked up on the family estate. There, because of the peculiarities of her cursed energy, she was used to train other magicians within the clan. And they saved her life only thanks to the resourcefulness of Hime, who suggested using her younger sister in this way (otherwise they would have literally gotten rid of her, because she is objectionable to the clan). Hime literally replaced Mio and friends and parents and everyone in the world, being the only person in her life who treated her like a person and not a thing. This is despite the fact that officially Mio is literally Hime's thing. In other posts, I will try to explain more about the clan, and about Hime, and especially about Mio (it is most difficult with her)
I'll tell a little about Hime's the cursed technique. She inherited the Sealing Technique, which is inherited in the Amaterasu Omikami clan.Noriko Hime uses dance to use her cursed energy to create and seal the curse. The stronger the seal, the more difficult and longer it is to put on the curse.T his is the reason why she needs the support of others sorcerers. Hime will not be able to fight against strong curses alone, because the main disadvantage of her technique is that she needs time, which may not be enough in battle. Basically, she doesn't fight, but creates talismans, endowing them with cursed energy and seals that can help other sorcerers. The talisman on her chest is her strongest talisman, which is imbued with the energy of her soul's power and gives it back to her body. It turns out to be a kind of barter between soul and body. why exactly is geto such a good character?
(not compared to naoya but using naoya as an example lol. i have no opinion on naoya other than that hes apparently a misogynist but some ppl like him for some reason idk.)
geto is arguably jjk's best written character —which isnt an indictment of naoya but an anime only's premature opinion lol— and a testament to jjk's initial narrative strength. reducing geto's motives down to toji massively undermines the layers that catalyzed his breakdown, which ultimately, was loss and disempowerment leading him to break. it was him being unable to reconcile his moralistic outlook with the mechanistic nature of jujutsu society and the utter dehumanization it demanded of its sorcerers, it was his disdain for the self-sustaining nature of human vice and negativity and its perpetuation of their system of futile sacrifice and loss.
this disdain stems from the bleak reality of being surrounded by its grimiest depths, by the thanklessness of choosing platitudes and lofty ideals for those who spit in your face for it, who exploit you, objectify you. which is why amanai dying is what truly began his undoing, the personification of everything he believed to be worth fighting for snuffed unthinkingly by those he's told are too feeble to know better. its the malignance of pure ppl like haibara dying while evil endures, of the godless nature of being a sorcerer, and how its ungoverned and unphased by any morality or goodness or purity. and why it ended with him discovering the girls in the cage, the most innocent of society, who couldn't have possibly deserved it, who were persecuted for their nature, the actual people endangered for it. its him flipping the ontological framework jujutsu society operates on, questioning why they have to pay for humanity's vices and fallibility, why they cant fight back too, prioritize their own pitfalls, and thusly him giving gravitas to humanity's evil underbelly. while also recognizing the strength and brilliance of sorcerers and choosing to be selfish with this excellence, self-serving instead of self flagellatory, not leaving them to be fed to the beast of human weakness but instead unabashed in their talents and strength. bc at every turn he's told to temper himself, to fight for goodness, but is only ever met with cruelty, haunted by sorcerers' disenfranchisement looming over him.
contradictory to his newfound ideals, geto chooses family and love by vowing to sacrifice humanity instead, he reframes gojo and all those relegated cogs in the jujutsu machine to the ppl really worth fighting for, as precious enough to matter, to be sacrificed for. its why he forms a pseudo family while pursuing his plans, and why he embodies such a performative personality thereafter, bc ideals consume geto. he has to expunge himself of humanity and embody hatred bc that's whats contrary to his former ideals and disposition. that's what he thinks he has to be. but when the heart of his wants shine through, when he allows himself grace around those close to his heart, we see the core of who he is and always has been shine through (e.g at his death scene). geto sees vulnerability and sympathy as inherent to humanity and the things indenturing sorcerers to them, despite his fight for sorcerers being grounded in fighting for the weak, but he doesn't want to give into that human aspect to his motivations. he wants to determine his own future, beholden to no one. (e.g the reason he fights against kenjaku, and is given strength by gojo's words)
now naoya very well may be a better character and commentary on jujutsu society than geto, but using his attire as reason for it isnt exactly equivocal to the aforementioned layers i've outlined. geto's brilliance is in how aptly they condensed all these angles relative to his screen time. now that doesnt mean he's beyond critique: his characterization post-defection is a bit too caricatured for me, and amanai wasnt utilized to the extent that she could've been to complicate his motivations and expand/clarify his thoughts on humanity, plus his plan to exterminate humanity is just as futile as his former sorcerer work, but thats the point. that ideals are fallible and often arbitrary, and that being governed by them can be detrimental and self-destructive. geto wanted to protect those he cared abt above everything, and conjured smth just as grand and insurmountable as the jujutsu system to rival it without taking into account how that obfuscated things, that ultimately, ideals weren't ever what was important, but actually those around him. bc in actuality, what he's doing doesnt center them, it centers him. he who literally tasted the rot and gore of humanity, took it into his body and used it as a weapon for their service, until that poison metastasized and he vowed to amputate his brokenness, without realizing that he'd just opted for another poison instead. he's a tragic character.
having said that, you dont have to care abt him. but he's defintely not badly written lol.

"you’re too young to be groaning like that," you tease as gojo flops onto the bed face-down, exhaling sharply.
"shut up," he mutters, voice muffled against the pillow. "i think my back just gave out."
you roll your eyes, settling beside him. his body is warm beneath your hands, muscles tense from who knows how many fights he got into today. gently, you press your thumbs into his shoulders, working out the knots.
"damn," he exhales after a beat, his usual cocky edge replaced with something softer.
"that good?"
"i might actually marry you if you keep doing this."
you snort. classic satoru. but you keep going, pressing deeper into his back. his breathing slows, and his body finally unwinds beneath your touch.
after a moment, he sighs. "you know, if i’m this messed up now, imagine how we’ll be when we’re actually old."
"you’re acting like you’re eighty."
"feels like it." he turns his head to glance at you. there’s something easy, something fond in his gaze.
"guess i’ll just have to take care of you forever, then."
for once, he doesn’t have a comeback. just a small smile — one that lingers even as the white-haired man drifts off to sleep under your touch.
gojo is met with a small slap to his face. one that wakes him up from his stupor, head swiveling around with barely open eyes. his first instinct is to grab for you, but the only thing he feels is a tiny, plump stomach.
when he opens his eyes wider, his infant daughter is laid next to him, sucking on her favorite binkie. her tiny hand is raised in the air.
you’re laying on the other side of her, passed out and face barely visible from beneath the pillow. he sighs and turns his body towards his daughter. “why are you hitting daddy, hm?” he asks, voice groggy and quiet so he won’t wake you. he knows how you are when you get woken up. “am i snoring again?”
his daughter simply blinks.
he can’t help but smile, pulling her close and laying her on his chest. “fine, fine. i’ll be quiet. it’s too late for you though, little munchkin. go to sleep so daddy can put you to bed.”
his daughter nuzzles her small face into his neck, causing her father to sigh wistfully. he feels himself going back to dreamland, face relaxing.
not even two minutes later, he’s snoring like a hog.
he’s awoken by another smack, harder this time.
you are the first girl whose smile won gojo over, and he fell in love with you unconditionally, but your daughter, who became an extension of both of your lives, showed him another form of love.
you often like to tease him that she took everything after her father, but at one point, when satoru was playing with her, he could not believe his eyes when he saw that she had an exact cope of your smile. he experienced that unimaginable feeling again, but in a completely different way — it is something precious, something that connects you.
“satoru?”
“she has your smile.”

if there was one thing satoru loved about you, it was your back. of course, he loved the other parts of you too! like your face and your tits—but nothing gets him going like the sight of you in a backless dress. or when he’ll wake up next to you, nude and turned away, all exposed for him.
he’ll find himself praising the lord above on those fortunate days. his cerulean blue eyes roam over the expanse of your skin, tracing the gentle curvature of your spine with a soft gaze. and he’s unable to resist the urge to touch you, to run his fingers over the smoothness of your back. his wife.
you were so vulnerable like this, so beautiful—did he ever tell you enough? he’ll reach out his hand, the knuckle of his forefinger tracing downwards, feather-light. the skin of his own finger tingles at the contact.
deep in your slumber and still so tempting, he grows bolder with each caress, letting his touch linger longer in the divot of your spine. he’ll repeat the motion again and again as your back arches sensually in your sleep, mesmerized by the way your body responds to his touch.
satoru playing into the whole super dad role, wearing a baby carrier everywhere and mindlessly letting your teething baby chew and slobber all over the tip of his finger to soothe her itty bitty aches. unable to keep his precious baby girl out of sight for a second, barely allowing you to lift a damn finger in the middle of the night as your daughter’s cries rouse the both of you from slumber. sure, satoru slacked off on plenty of things but never when it came to his princess. her diapers full? he was already changing it. breast milk was taking some time to come in? not a problem, he’ll feed her using formula. a sudden sneeze? she must have caught a cold. needless to say, he would do anything for his little girl. he was always alert, having conditioned himself to sleep only a few hours even before the baby was born due to his demanding work schedule. and although you appreciated his consistent efforts and the lengths at which he was willing to go to prove himself a good father — though you knew he would be from the start and he’d done just about enough even while you were pregnant — you would like to spend at least an hour with your baby before she inevitably got whisked away by your husband. but no matter how many times you tried to reason with him that you were completely capable of taking care of the child you birthed for just one night, he’d readily refuse. you’d spent nine months nourishing and caring for his little one in your tummy, and now it was his turn.
reader who can’t stand satoru but then he gets hit by a curse that turns him into a cat. you find him, to his dismay, and take him home, only for him to realize how different you are when he isn’t around to pester you.
at first, he causes a lot of trouble. breaking things in your house, tearing up the pillows. he just wants to be a human again, but nobody can understand him! but you still take care of him and coddle him no matter how much trouble he causes, so different from how people treat him normally, as if he were a nuisance (which he kind of was on purpose). and he finds himself falling for you without realizing it.
so he stops being a bad cat, steadily losing hope that he’ll ever be human again. and satoru would be lying to himself if he said he didn’t enjoy how you stroked him while you read a book or let him sleep beside you at night. maybe it wasn’t so bad? so he decided then if he was going to be just a cat, he was fine with being your cat.
the higher-ups had taken note of his absence, obviously, and he only knows cause you’ve mentioned it to him. you had this endearingweird quirk where you’d talk to him as if he were a real person.
throughout his stay in your home as a house pet, satoru finds out a lot about you. you’ve always kept to yourself, but you vent your frustrations out to him while he’s like this, and he offers his comfort the best he can. which you appreciate, rewarding him with kisses that he secretly enjoys.
once he turns human again, by some miracle, his first thought is to go and find you. and when he does, you give him the cold shoulder like you used to, and it surprises him. before he realizes that, ah, he wasn’t your pet anymore. he was gojo satoru.
satoru realizes his feelings for you in that moment. when he feels the ache in his chest from your dismissive behavior, it leads him to starting his most important mission yet—winning your heart once more.
but this time, it’ll be as a person, not a damn cat.
