I finally drew the man, the myth, the legend, Jon Sims
Looks like it’s time to cry about how much I love Jonathan Sims
This is a pretty much a nightly occurrence
(Also I had like three drafts of this that all sounded basically the same and I have no recollection of making any of them other than this one so I thought that meant I was required to post one of them )
Jon Sims and Arthur Lester both look like they’d be 80 pounds sopping wet and have more scars than an alley cat but the difference is that Arthur lived in the 1900’s and isn’t supernatural so he could kill Jon with his bare hands. Yes even with Jon’s spooky eye thing. He’d be like “Ceaseless Watcher Turn Your Gaze Upon This Wretched Thing” and Arthur’d be like “I’m blind idiot” and murder him with a rock.

Reasons why Jon Archivist is truly a character of all time:
Had the police called on him several times when he was a young child
Keeps his rib and the ashes of the season one antagonist next to his stationary drawer
Promised he wouldn’t get lost in tunnels and then immediately got lost in aforementioned tunnels
Has no clue what a joke is
Learned how remarkably easy it is to buy an ax in central London
Had to have two separate interventions
Told people his place of employment before traumatising them for life
The first character he ever said ‘I love you’ to is a cat
Allegedly participated in amdram
Watches documentaries and collects some kind of weird shit (my headcanon is Soviet Union postcards) when he’s not being a paranoid mess
Canonically looks like he hasn’t slept in weeks
Knows nothing about library science
Fell head over heels for a man that he hated until he learned he lied on his resumé
Has been referred to as Jesus or Jesus-adjacent at least twice
Asexual icon
Knows what a meme is and said “LOL” in the first episode
Rode on a merry-go-round sometime during his university days because he was in a weird place emotionally
Died for our Jonathan Sins
Is probably a computer now playing minesweeper with his boyfriend and evil 200+ year old boss
You ever just think about how Jonathan “I refuse to be another goddamn mystery” Sims is now a voice in a computer no one knows. Or how Martin “I am not lonely anymore” Blackwood is trapped with probably no knowledge there are others with him. Or that the “one way or another” couple probably have no idea that they are with the other. Martin thinking he’s alone again and Jon thinking he’s left Martin behind. Or about the fact that they are both in pain based on the statement of the guy that got turned into a computer program. “It’s so cold without blood” “the code cuts me” “it’s so sharp”… I just think about that a normal amount.
Something I love about Jon Sims is that if you went back in time and told him during season 1 that in a couple years he would fall in love with Martin Blackwood and become the omniscient god of the apocalypse who feeds on fear, he would 100% be more concerned about the Martin part of that sentence.

Ok I don't have time rn to actually do much with the idea but season 5 jon have like a second set of pupils/irises inside his eyes instead of gaining full extra eyes
