Hihi!! U said ud like to start doing more writings rather than smaus, so I thought I’d leave u a writing request this time! Okay so picture this, it’s post-war with bakugou x mia!reader who was presumed dead but apparently was just stranded in the middle of nowhere (this part is kind of a plothole but if u could figure out something that would be sososo amazing!!) and after like 6 months finally reunite post-war?? Ofc take ur time and stay healthy author !! Love ur work !!<3333
bakugo thought you were gone. for six months, he lived with that weight. but fate had other plans—and now, you're standing right in front of him.
bakugo had never been good at dealing with grief.
anger? sure. fear? he could mask it. pain? he lived with that shit daily. but grief? real, soul-crushing loss that settled deep in his bones and refused to leave? that was different.
and it was eating him alive.
you had been gone for six months.
the war ended, but not without casualties. the city was rebuilding, heroes stretched thin trying to repair the damage. civilians were starting to feel safe again. life was moving on.
but bakugo couldn't.
because you weren't there.
no body. no trace. no closure.
just... gone.
they'd looked for you. he'd looked for you—refused to stop even after the others tried to tell him it was no use. rescue teams had combed through the rubble, searching collapsed buildings and debris for any sign of you. but all they ever found were reminders of how brutal the battle had been.
a boot. blood on the pavement.
but never you.
bakugo had stood there, watching as they cleared the wreckage, hands clenched into fists so tight his nails left crescent moons in his palms. he didn't speak. didn't move.
he didn't cry.
because if he did—if he let that crack form even for a second—he wouldn't survive it.
he stopped saying your name after the first month.
it hurt too much.
everyone could see it. he wasn't the same.
bakugo still trained with the same intensity, still went through the motions of being a hero-in-training, but the fire was gone. his explosions felt duller. his anger, less controlled.
the dorms were quieter without you. your laugh used to echo through the hallways, bright and infectious. you'd tease him relentlessly, calling him out on his bullshit with that signature grin he pretended to hate.
now? silence.
even his friends had stopped trying to get him to talk about it. they didn't ask how he was doing anymore—probably because they knew the answer.
shitty.
he was doing shitty.
bakugo didn't sleep much anymore.
every time he closed his eyes, he saw you.
not the way he wanted to remember you—smiling, happy, calling him an idiot when he tried to act cool.
no.
he saw you in that moment.
the war. the smoke. the chaos.
"get out of here!" you'd screamed, shoving him back, your eyes wide with desperation. "go, bakugo!"
he didn't listen. he never would.
but then—the explosion.
a flash of light. a deafening roar.
and you were gone.
bakugo woke up most nights with his heart pounding, breath ragged as he reached for something—someone—who wasn't there.
his bed was cold. the dorm was quiet.
and you were still gone.
he should've been there. should've done something. should've protected you.
bakugo had played that moment over in his head a thousand times, wondering where it went wrong. how he let you slip away. how he—of all people—had failed to save the one person he couldn't live without.
six months. that's how long it had been.
life didn't wait for grief to pass. UA moved forward. class 1-a graduated and stayed on as provisional heroes to assist with the rebuilding efforts. the dorms weren't as chaotic anymore. they were quiet. colder. bakugo still trained like his life depended on it. he threw himself into work with relentless determination, trying to drown out the ache that never went away. his body was exhausted, but it was nothing compared to the emptiness that gnawed at him from the inside.
kirishima watched him with worried eyes. mina tried to get him to open up, but he brushed her off. kaminari—even kaminari—stopped cracking jokes about "grumpy bakugo" because this... this wasn't just grumpiness. this was grief. and no one knew how to fix it.
bakugo didn't say it out loud, but he had given up. he stopped checking the reports. stopped listening when the search teams gave their updates. stopped hoping. because hoping hurt too much.
it was a random afternoon when everything changed. the sun was setting, casting long shadows over the UA campus. bakugo was heading back to the dorms after another grueling training session, his body sore and his mind numb. he was used to this feeling by now—the hollow ache in his chest that never fully went away.
but then—
"bakugo." the voice was soft. almost too soft. his brain didn't register it at first. it couldn't.
"katsuki."
that voice. his heart stopped.
slowly, like he was afraid moving too fast would break the fragile illusion, he turned around. and there you were. standing a few feet away, looking tired, worn, and a little worse for wear. but alive.
alive.
bakugo didn't move. didn't breathe.
"hey," you said, voice barely above a whisper, like you weren't sure he'd even want to see you.
bakugo's knees nearly gave out.
"holy shit," he breathed, his voice cracking as his feet finally moved. he stumbled forward like a man possessed, eyes locked on you as if he was afraid you'd disappear again if he blinked.
you didn't move. didn't speak. and then—you were in his arms.
bakugo crushed you against his chest, arms wrapped around you so tightly it was like he was trying to make sure this was real—that you were real.
"you're..." his voice broke, and he buried his face in the crook of your neck, inhaling your scent like it would anchor him to reality. "you're real."
"i'm real," you murmured, your voice trembling as you clung to him just as desperately. "i'm here, katsuki."
bakugo's body shook. "where the fuck were you?" his voice was hoarse, barely above a whisper. "do you know how long i—"
"i know," you whispered, pulling back just enough to cup his face in your hands. "i know. i'm so sorry, katsuki."
his eyes were glassy, filled with too many emotions to name. anger. relief. pain. love.
"i thought..." his voice trailed off, and his grip on you tightened. "i thought i lost you."
"you didn't," you smiled, pressing your forehead against his. "i'm here now. i'm not going anywhere."
"swear it." his voice was barely audible, but the desperation in it was palpable.
"i swear."
bakugo's lips crashed against yours. it wasn't gentle. it was raw, desperate—a collision of lips and teeth and everything he'd been holding back for six long months. he kissed you like he was trying to make up for every second you'd been gone, like he was terrified this was still a dream. but you kissed him back just as fiercely.
and for the first time in six months, bakugo katsuki could breathe again.
you didn't talk about it right away. the first night, you stayed curled up in his bed, wrapped in his arms like he was afraid to let go. bakugo didn't sleep—just held you, his fingers tracing idle patterns on your skin, grounding himself in the steady rise and fall of your breathing. he didn't ask where you'd been. didn't ask how you survived. because right now? none of that mattered.
you were here. that was all that mattered.
days passed before you could bring yourself to tell him. about how the explosion had thrown you so far, so fast, that no one thought to look beyond the city. how you'd been buried under debris, barely clinging to life, until a group of villagers in a remote area found you and nursed you back to health.
how you'd spent every waking moment after that trying to get back to him.
"i tried, katsuki," you whispered, your voice barely audible as you sat on his bed, hands trembling in his. "i tried to come back."
"i know."
bakugo's thumb brushed over your knuckles, his touch gentle despite the storm in his eyes.
"i didn't mean to leave you."
"i know."
his jaw clenched, and he lifted your hand to his lips, pressing a soft kiss to your skin. "you're not leaving again."
"i'm not."
"swear it."
"i swear."
bakugo kissed you again, slower this time, softer—like he was memorizing every inch of you all over again. and for the first time in six months, he wasn't holding onto a ghost.
you stayed by his side after that. bakugo didn't sleep alone anymore. every night, he fell asleep with his arms around you, grounding himself in the steady rhythm of your heartbeat. and every morning, when he woke up and saw you there—he let himself believe that maybe, just maybe, everything would be okay again.
it wasn't easy. some days were harder than others. but you were there.
and bakugo?
he wasn't letting go this time.
not now. not ever.

The walk to the training facility was quite peaceful. In the short time you'd known him, you'd noticed Midoriya was a talker. He was asking questions about your quirk, how you learned to use it given the circumstances of your childhood, millions of things.
Usually you'd feel inclined to tell someone to fuck all the way off upon being asked any of these questions. But the space between you and your new friend felt comfortable, which was something you couldn't say you'd experienced in a long time. If anything the tension in your life had been palpable the past few months, even if it was only between you and yourself.
When the two of you finally arrived at the training facility you were happy to find it empty with the exception of All Might. He was perched on the opposite side of the room, on what looked to be a spectators bench. He raised a hand high and waved both of you over.
"Young Midoriya, Young (y/n), lock the door behind you and come on over so I can explain today's exercise." He nodded in the direction of the door and Midoriya turned to lock it. You made for the side of the room All Might was sitting on with Midoriya a few steps behind.
While All Might explained what you'd be doing you took off your overcoat. You hadn't wanted it to be ridiculously obvious where you were going, especially not after blowing off your practical partner. So you'd opted to throw the biggest flannel known to man over your training suit.
The mock up of your current gear held up well enough for it to be a training suit, one comparable to the one you've used in combat. Though the gear itself was a little... ratty. It hadn't been updated in quite some time and would without a doubt benefit from some TLC. You made a mental note to visit the support department before All Might spoke.
"Alright, go ahead and show us what you can do kiddo." He nodded as he motioned for Midoriya to sit next to him.
You tilted your head in confusion.
"Huh? I thought we were supposed to-"
"Nope. If your enemy is to have a fair fight they need to understand the range of your abilities, and yours is quite wide. Regardless of strength, It would be both unfair and reckless to send Midoriya in blind, even in a sparring match."
"Fair point, but then what do you want me to do?"
"Simple, use your quirk in the best way you know how. Show off a little if that's what you want to do," All Might waved his hand flippantly, "I just want to see what you're capable of and where your limits are, so that you can surpass them. The last time I saw you use your quirk was years ago. I would imagine you've improved since then?" He quirked a brow. Midoriya sat beside him with a notebook in his lap, looking between the two of you.
"I have." You nodded curtly, beginning to understand what was being asked of you.
"Then the floor is yours Young (y/n)." All Might gestured to the expansive training room behind you. You turned towards the open space, calmly walked to the center of the room, and thought through your plan. If improvement was what was being asked of you, why not show just how many of your limits you've surpassed?
Overhead you counted six rows of ten high-powered lights, making for sixty total. With those, plus the air conditioning, plus the rest of the technology in here, you figured you should be set. Electrical energy seemed to be the safest route while still being impressive.
Taking a deep inhale you tightened your core, the very inside of your soul to be as hard as rock. "Siphon." You breathed out on the exhale, you made an effort to feel every molecule of electricity within your reach. The current expanse of your quirk was the training room. If necessary, you could triple your reach, but you didn't want to take power from any of the dorm buildings.
Push your energy out, grab more of it, pull, compress.
Push your energy out, grab more of it, pull, compress.
Push your energy out, grab more of it, pull, compress.
You could feel your insides burning, but not in a way that hurt. They burned in the way that let you know you were sucking up every volt of energy available to you. In such a way that you could feel the energy building on itself and multiplying.
You didn't notice the way the lights went out, or the way the AC stopped working, or the electrical lock on the door come undone. You only knew you'd taken all you could when the breaker popped, then exploded with a resounding clap.
The way that you looked during was unbeknownst to you. But if you had to guess by the, "Oh my, oh my, what?" that Midoriya breathed out with wide eyes, you'd say terrifying.
If the way that All Might was looking at you like a proud father was any indication, you'd say you did your job.
Smiling softly you looked down at your, now glowing, skin. Electricity danced across it softly until you allowed it to dissipate. Simply deactivating it and storing it as potential energy.
"When I told you to show me what you got, I didn't mean to cut the power out. Jeez kid, what have they been feeding you over there?" All Might joked with a smile, one you returned to him proudly.
an: if you read all of this thank you??? and let me know what you thought please, it's always appreciated sm, i love feedback. i'm sorry this was so long. the next parts won't be this beefy i swear (unless y'all want them to be, lmk). i just wanted to get a scene of reader's quirk use in even though the description kind of sucked?? any guesses on what our quirk is? also it will be much more katsuki heavy in the future. just needed to get the setup done!
- Momo makes her a bunch of really warm outfits, coats, mittens, scarves, socks, blankets, you name it. She had to do a bit of research for making the materials, but she thought the extra work was more than worth it since she knew Tsu would be warm.
- If Todoroki’s there, you better bet your bottom dollar that he’s on her right. This was originally him just standing or sitting next to her, but not anymore. No, now he makes her cuddle with him on the couch and if their standing, she’s now on his left hip snuggling into him.
- This ^ happens at any given moment whether one of them’s in the middle of doing homework or having a conversation.
- Sato will bring her to his room right after he’s made her some kind of pastry so she can eat hot food in a really warm room. He will also make her soup so she gets real food into her as well.
- When Tokoyami sees her shivering, he gets Dark Shadow to collect as many blankets as he can to wrap her up in.
- Shoji gives her all of his sweaters and some pants to put over her clothes in hopes that they will keep her warm. He also will hold her and shield her when they have to go outside.
- Mineta originally opts for them taking off their shirts for body heat but after that didn’t go very well for him, he now makes her hot chocolate and refills the cup every time she finishes it.
- Kirishima sets up a workout for the two of them to do together to get her moving and sweating, Now whether that be an actual workout or Just Dance depends on the day and how cold she is.
- Uraraka runs a really warm bath for her with a portable heater in the bathroom so she won’t be cold when she gets out.
- Sero tapes heating packs all over her body so she physically can’t be warm.
- Koda lets her play with his rabbit and she gets so happy from it that she forgets about the cold for a bit, especially when it’s cuddling with her and when she’s chasing it around.
- Kaminari shocks her and as stupid as it sounds, it actually works for a little bit. After that, he gets her to race him through the halls.
- Midoriya makes her a fort of pillows and blankets in the common area where they just lie and cuddle. Sometimes, she ends up with her whole body - aside from her head - under the couch cushions and he’ll sit on a cushion that she isn’t under or he’ll chill on the floor.
- Jiro was surprisingly the one who thought about having pillow fights, rather than something less goofy. Nonetheless, it works and they have a blast.
- Mina tries to teach her new dances and sometimes they play a very intense game of leap frog.
- Aoyama gets her the warmest things he can find and has her put them on for their fashion show. They do this in the common area so everyone can see how ridiculous she looks in all of these fluffy sweaters, pajamas and snow pants.
- Iida raises the temperature of their dorm building until she is comfortable and everyone else has to be in their summer wear to be comfortable.
- Ojiro wraps her up with his tail tightly so there isn’t any room for the cold to get her.
- Hagakure tucks her into bed (since Tsu’s room is on the top floor, it would be warmer) and suffocates her with the stuffed animals she brought up with her.
- Bakugo will blow something up to start a fire and get her to sit with him around it or gets her to beat up a punching bag as he screams at her, which is something they do together even when she’s warm so she can let out some stress
Bonus:
Aizawa lets her use his sleeping bag during class.
*During a test after Aizawa left the class*
Kirishima: Psst! Sero! What did you get for question 6?
Sero: I got pollution.
Mina from across the room: What? I got 79 apples.
Kirishima: How did either of you get that?
Sero: I just looked at the cans and saw that there was a lot, which equals pollution when people throw them in the ocean.
Kirishima: I’m sorry, what-
Mina: I don’t think you did that right ‘cause I just counted all of the apples on the other side and it was 79. You definitely looked too much into it. What did you get, Kiri?
Kirishima, close to tears: I got that the store was too small because the shelf looked overpacked.
Kaminari: Wow, I guess I’m the only smart one here.
Kirishima, Sero, and Mina turning to Kaminari: What did you get?
Kaminari: I got that the store was in America since they have both apples and cans.
Sero: Holy shit, that’s genius.
Mina: I should have thought of that!
Kirishima, erasing his answer: If it’s in America then the shelves are probably packed because they probably stocked up that morning! Thanks, man!
Sero: Yeah, you’re a lifesaver!
Mina: Now, there’s no way I’ll fail! You’re the best!
Kaminari: No problem, my dudes.
Bakugo, snapping his fourth pencil: THIS IS A HISTORY TEST! THE QUESTION’S ASKING WHAT YEAR YOU THINK IT IS IN THE STORE AND IT’S MULTIPLE CHOICE! THE ANSWER IS RIGHT THERE! HOW DID YOU FUCK THAT UP!?
Kaminari: Silly, Bakugo. Those are the expiration dates of the cans and apples.
Bakugo: *screams and throws his desk at Kaminari*
In love with this art style 😍😍
Katsuki, kissing Izuku: Hey sweetheart.
Izuku, kissing back: What’s up, babe.
Uraraka: Did we miss something?
Shouto: Oh, no no, they’re just playing a game, no biggie.
Mina: What game?
Shinso: It’s called gay chicken. The point of the game is for two guys to pretend to be gay together for as long as possible.
Shouto: and whoever chickens out first loses.
Shota, with a knowing look: And how long has it been since they are, uh… pretending?
Shinso: Three weeks.
Class 1-A:
Uraraka:
Shouto, leaning over: They’re pretty stubborn.
*** Later***
Izuku: no but seriously, did you see their faces?
Katsuki: I knOw. Uraraka looked like she wanted to cry *laughs*
Izuku, looking at Katsuki: now we just have to tell them that we are dating, not playing gay chicken.
Katsuki: *sigh* Uraraka is going to have a stroke.
hey guys im going to write another fic but i need an oppinion. it is a vigilante deku fic with dadzawa and papamic but i havent made up my mind about when i should introduce bakudeku.
snippet of the story:
––––––––
Before Izuku reclaimed Midoriya Izuku, he was known as:
“Spine.”
No first name. No alias. Just “Spine.”
Because:
He always came back broken but still standing
He had a habit of targeting those who crushed the powerless
And once? Just once? He ripped a trafficker’s quirk amplifier system from their back and left them alive.
The name stuck.
People whispered it like a curse.
––––––––
“You let them feed you scraps,” the voice growled from the shadows. “You bleed for them, beg for them, but you forget what you are.” “I know exactly what I am,” Izuku snapped. “Then say it. Say what the world made you.” A pause. Rain. Blood. Footsteps. “Unforgiven.” (yeah. he’s back.)
https://archiveofourown.org/works/64797067
Masaru: Do you know where Katsuki is?
Mitsuki: Off somewhere. Disappointing God.
I feel like aizawa and class 1A would get life 360 because aizawa wants to know where they are in case of a villain attack but eventually it gets turned on him and he gets messages from everyone like "Mr aizawa can u get us maccas pls?"
id also like to imagine that izuku, being the nervous wreck he is, only has his location turned on for aizawa, bakugo, todoroki, and MAYBE Allmight.
Katsuki: Fool me once, I’m gonna kill you
Izuku: Fool me twice, I'll kill myself.
Katsuki: wait, no-
Katsuki: Treat spiders the way you want to be treated. Izuku: Killed without hesitation. Katsuki: No.
Katsuki: What’s up guys? I’m back. Izuku: What the- you can’t be here. You’re dead. I literally saw you die. Katsuki: Death is a social construct.
(This could also be done in reverse lmao)
Katsuki: It’s dark in here Izuku: Don’t worry dude I got this Izuku: *Stomps their feet* Izuku: *Skechers light up*
Katsuki: In light of what you did for me, you can hug me for four to five seconds. Izuku: FORTY FIVE SECONDS?!? Katsuki: No! Four to five seconds! Izuku: Too late!!!
Shouta: How did none of you hear what I just said? Shoto: I’ve been zoned out for the past two and a half hours. Izuku: I got distracted about halfway through. Katsuki: Ignoring you was a conscious decision.
*the boys doing something stupid* Shoto: I think we're missing something. Katsuki: Teamwork? Cohesion? Izuku: A general sense of what we’re doing?
Katsuki: *Walking in to a room* Sorry I’m late... I was... doing things. *Sounds of running footsteps progressively getting louder* Izuku: *Out of breath* THEY PUSHED ME DOWN THE FUCKIN’ STAIRS.
Happy Valentines ⋆˚✿˖° 💕
I drew them on a paper towel idk I just like how Bakugo tuned out :P
