Yeah so uh I finally watched Voltron
Y'all I'm literally so mad, I knew they had *some* LGBT+ representation and because I'd seen a ton of Klance fanart on my dashboard while it was still hot I was SURE, like 100% CERTAIN they were endgame and I was fUCKING STOKED for it to happen
I do not think I have ever been more disappointed

so i was looking thru my notes right and i find the most heartwrenching thing ever, based on panic! at the disco’s song Always and im sobbing
“Lance and keith barely get together, and they have this song that lance only sings to keith and hes been singing it since the garrison,, and basically lance and keith get split up from the team and their fighting sentries n stuff but keith is distracted from one, another takes a shot at him and lance jumps in front to save keith. Keith falters for a moment, bc he got the sentry he was struggling with, and looks over to lance, and when he sees his condition he rages. like, beast mode. and when keith is finished with the sentries, he rushes over to lance who is dead af on the fuckin floor, and cradles him (a second time,, damn you lance) amd the following dolouge is: k:"no, no Lance wake up. come on we gotta get you back to the castle somehow."
l:"no.... just leave me the team will be fine without me..."
K: "no, come on.... please lance.."
L: "Hey keith?"
K: "yeah?"
L: "can.. can you sing for me? please?"
K: "yeah,... yeah I can do that for you... *through voice cracks and sniffles and tears* It was Always you... Falling for me... Now theres Always time... Calling for me.. I'm the light, blinking at the end of the road.. Blink back to let me know.... please Lance, Don't leave us, or me. Please."
L: "Hey keith?"
K: "Yeah..?"
L: " I love you, Don't ever forget that.."
K: "I love you too... Lance, Please, no, please... you weren't supposed to go this way! We were supposed to go out with a bang! we... we were supposed to make it together.."
yeah. nuff said.
Costs of War
When Lance stepped into that lion he wasn’t prepared for war, he didn’t think some dumb metal beast would drag him and his friends into a millennia old conflict. He’s not sure what he did expect, but it wasn’t this.
That being said, he doesn’t regret getting on that lion, getting swept up in the war, becoming a soldier. He’s saved lives changed things for the better, he has a purpose out here. Just, at a price.
Because for every life he’s saved, he’s taken one away. He’s killed hundreds of galran soldiers over time, doomed dozens of planets by saving a different one. He can’t help everyone, often not even his own team, his family. But sometimes he can help someone.

The first time Lance simultaneously saves someone and dooms someone is his first two weeks in space, the team is on Arus, small pill shapes aliens give them food and entertainment and worship them as heroes. Lance had been with Coran, chatting in the control room.
Pidge’s little robot friend, Rover, had been flying about the crystal. It was odd the little thing wasn’t with Pidge, the two had been inseparable since Rover came along.
Then it started beeping.
Louder.
Faster.
Time however moved slower, by the time Lance realized something was wrong he’d already reacted, pulling Coran to the floor and covering him with his own body.
Burning.
Everything was burning. His neck and neck and face, his skin was sizzling. But there were more important things. Sendak. He was here he had Shiro, Lance had to move, had to help, two shots are fired before the pain over takes him again.but Lance can’t tell if their from or someone else. Doesn’t matter.
Burning.
It’s duller this time. Like a sunburn rather than a he-just-lit-himself-on-fire kind of burn, there’s a pleasant coolness over the rest of him.
He’s falling.
He hits someone, their arms wrap around his torso. He’s more awake by the time they drag him to a chair. He asks what happened, he doesn’t know what to say. Sendak is prisoner, Lance had managed to hit him with both shots, the Arians are mostly unharmed, but frazzled. His injuries were the worst, burns covering 40% of his back, reaching up his neck and around his chin. H they thought he was going to die. He moved on, others were more important.
This is the attack that alerts the Galran empire that Voltron is operational, three planets and harvested and destroyed, the toll is 13 million people.

Langst (gets dark)
He watched his friends talk happily about things he just tugged is on his string it was no longer a bright beautiful red now nothing more than a dull white.
A tear rolled down his face, he found the body, Keith’s adopted family did not even grieve, he was nothing more than a pond in the game to them, but to Lance he was his fellow knight fighting together until the end just as Keith said....
Yeah the end came sooner then then they thought. Lance did not even feel the tears rolling down his face. He was Keith’s ocean his calm. Keith was his fire the reason he went on, his fire, his heart.
“Lance are you okay?” Lotor asked.
Lance suddenly felt sick to his stomach. He was not even dazed by Keith decease, he was Keith’s adopted brother! He was not fazed by the knife in Keith’s back, literally and figuratively.
“I’m fine” he said. He saw Hunk’s face disappointment, he wasn’t telling the truth, he lost his soulmate the one person he was supposed to be there for.
The bell rang a chorus of byes and see you later later happened Lance walked to his house by himself. Keith would usually accompany him now he was all by himself.
He had a brief conversation with his mama. Before leaving to his room.
The weapon he was holding was Keith’s his mom’s knife the second most precious thing in the world to him given to Lance, the first most important thing to Keith. He would see him again after this.
White slowly turning to red once more. His white string. The reason he was outcast. The marker of loneliness, forever by himself least he’ll be with him after this. Now red once more.
The face of his dreams wrapped his arm around him a soft smile on his face Keith.
“I love you Lance”
“Love you to”
Soulmates reunited once again.
Klance/Laith Soulmates
He couldn’t do this right now he just couldn’t. He heard Lance calling him back. He didn’t look back he wasn’t ready yet he’d told Blue -no Lance- that. He continued to walk away he didn’t know to where he just needed to leave. The tingling sensation on his wrist just wouldn’t disappear he knew Lance was writing to him trying to understand, talk it out still be friends but more, soulmates were meant to be romantic, -though rarely they would be platonic- he knew Lance would want more eventually, but he can’t well not yet.
He looked at where his walking had brought him The Blade of Marmora, the Martial art school run by the Marmora family, his family. He took out his key and opened the door he closed it without looking back by reflex. He unlatched the door labeled staff room, the soft scent of lavender mixed with lemon that most people thought it odd or weird smell on the other hand he adored it.
He walked past his Ojichan’s -or Kolivan as him and Acxa had started to calling him by his first name- desk a picture of himself with Acxa next to him their one of their mother’s hand on each of their shoulders his uncles Thace and Ulaz standing next to mom and Regris in between them Kolivan and Hal-aneoji -Antok- had arms around each other shoulders. All of them smiling a rare sight.
He sat down and finally looked down at his arm the words made him frown slightly ‘why did you leave?’ Lance’s writing was messy and Keith could feel the pain and hurt radiating off of it. ‘I told you I wasn’t ready yet’ he new Lance would almost immediately write back ‘but why?’
Why? A simple question with a very complicated answer. Keith was scared that’s why, he didn’t want Lance to leave mom had left and chosen to take Acxa with her -Keith knew that was what his dad told him a it was a lie but, still- then dad left for a bar and only came back when the someone lit the house on fire came in when everyone told him not to and threw Keith out. Then the foster parents left, or just weren’t there for him, and then the Shiroganes came Mrs. Shirogane died Shiro and him got separated in the system -they meet back up a few years back when Keith moved into town-. And then Keith found out the entire time he was in the system Kolivan and Antok were trying to get custody for him. Unable to because they weren’t citizens of The United States Of America.
During the time when he lived with the Shiroganes he found out and was so confused as to why? -why did it take so long to find out? why couldn’t they just have picked him up or something? Why not mom where was her and Acxa in all of this?- After Mrs. Shiroganes death, the Marmora family got custody, he moved to Korea and they became his family. They moved to Texas started a martial art school, Ulaz got a job as a doctor, Antok and Kolivan as security guards, Thace as a cafe worker, along with Regris who meet his soulmate Ilun.
Through it all there was a constant his soulmate nicknamed ‘Blue’ or ‘Sharpshooter’ who he always told everything, the one person he new he could trust, the eye of the hurricane, the silence in the screams.
He thought Lance knew that so when he came and he figured it out Keith ran, he left his soulmate the person who has always there for him person he would talk to when he felt insignificant, he left like everyone did to him.
Now he sat there Lance waiting for an answer so enthusiastic about meeting his one true love, his other half and he just straight up left.
‘Cause I was scared. Scared you would leave, and then I left you, I’m sorry.’ He didn’t say sorry often the red ink was there for a moment before he realized what lance would ask or think about doing. He knew Lance was probably just gonna ask to meet up. Keith heard the door open. Immediately recognizing the voices Lance’s and Acxa’s. Of course his twin sister betrayed him. He walked out of the staff room.
“Hi Sharpshooter.”
Acxa just smirked and walked out.
“Hi Samurai, do you wanna talk? Or something?”
“Sure”.

It’s really hurt. That precious bond had transformed into something like that. Keith and Shiro practically don’t speak in the whole season. Shiro found “happiness” with some random gay. Not with the paladins. Not with Kieth. Shiro left the battlefield. And Keith ended up uhh. He is meant to fly. To explore. Not do all that stuff. All I need right now is fiction where things are much more better.
I miss the True Red Paladin
I love VLD 7. Really? it’s not that bad, as many thinks. S7 had some very good moments. But. The saddest moment (for me) when all Paladins summoned their lions. Four of them come to Earth. Bur, not Red. She was just sitting there. And waiting. For her boy, her true Paladin. for Keith.
I know, that after S7 we had Voltron and Earth robot for Shiro. Each in the team has his own ship. And S8 will be the last season and etc. But I really want to see Keith and Red flying together again. Keith is a great leader, no doubt. But I miss he and Red interaction. She is fast and on fire. So is Keith.
I want at least one more fly. No more.

I hate when all the banter and quips immediately end after two characters start a relationship. Like let them love and hate each other! It’s not enemies to lovers if they just magically stop arguing after one kiss.

Shiro is obviously a Nightwing cause like what else would he be
Keith is a Skywing/Nightwing so he can be red and breathe fire but can also be emo (he also has hivewing in him cause in this AU the Galra are hivewings)
Lance is seawing/icewing because he’s blue but also his lion spits ice so I figured if he were a dragon he would spit ice too
Hunk is a mudwing but more specifically I think he’s also a bigwings, this would make him fireproof in the WoF universe and Hunks whole thing in his lion is armor
Pidge is a rainwing (no I didn’t forget her glasses shhhh) because the green but I also think it connects her to her lions ability to cloak and her whole character arc being about disguising herself
I haven’t drawn Allura or Coran yet but I have them planned out already as well as many other parts of this AU so feel free to ask questions :]
