What i really want but don't have the talent to do fanfiction like other people is a Voltron au thats mostly about Keith and his galra mark except in this au it's something he has all his life as a birthmark so when he's younger he gets made fun of because of it and becomes how he is in cannon from all the bulling and starts wearing makeup at a young age to keep it covered and never goes anywhere without some sort of cover up and the only person who knows about it is shiro who has been his brother as long as Keith can remember and he ends up moving in with him because of stuff that happens with the parents and it's shiro, allura and matts finaly year and keith is now a junior along with hunk and lance and pidge a sophomore and coran is alluras uncle dont know what he should do anyway keith and lance don't get along at first because of a whatever reason and end up together because honestly im klance trash but i dont want it to be the main point of the story what i want to happen is that they all become friends with keith and lance as semi rivals and there at like pidges house because she has a pool so everyone is swimming around or in swimsuits exept for Keith because he likes his new friends but because of the bullying he's terrified of showing any one but maybe lance and hunk are rough housing near keith and he gets pushed in ruining the makeup covering his birthmark and he panics and runs away but shiro won't let anyone chase after him even though lance tries too and Keith avoids everyone even shiro and then lance confronts him and ends up being the person who helps Keith out the most because he understands on a personal level how Keith might be feeling over something like this himself originally from Cuba so lance like i already said but also the rest of them help keith slowly accept himself and his birthmark he doesn't have to stop wearing makeup or anything like that maybe not till a few years go by or something like that because its a story of being able to love yourself in a way you couldn't before

In an attempt to get the Red Paladin to be more Galra, he and another paladin are captured. He is forced to watch them torture Blue, so that he’ll get angry and resort to instincts. No matter how much Lance pretends to be okay, Keith knows it’s not really okay, and knows there’s nothing he can do but watch helplessly.

Some Younger!Keith Angst for the soul

Keith found him outside. It's where his dad would usually escape to at night. With a bottle of whiskey by his side, Mr. Kogane would just sit there. Rocking back and forth of the porch swing and stare up at the sky. Until he either passed out from exhaustion or the whiskey. But it was usually the whiskey. Keith never disturbed his dad whenever he was like this. But Keith, still only six, had a very pressing dilemma before him. He couldn't sleep. So what else could he do but go to his dad? With his little heart beating in his chest, the little boy opened the mesh door of their house to venture outside. With his dad. Mr. Kogane was a huge man. Rugged from his work both on their farm and in the auto shop he worked at. He was handsome to, according to Keith's gossipy teachers. But Keith didn't find the worn lines on his father's face attractive at all. Just scary. "Dad?" Mr. Kogane startled, looking for the source of the voice. Eyes meeting his son's. He looks sad, thought Keith. There was a weakness to his otherwise strong father in that moment. A wetness to his eyes that startled Keith. Mr. Kogane trying to choke something out of his fumbling mouth. The moonlight washing over them. "P-Pal! What'er you doing up so late?" "Couldn't sleep..." Keith looked down at his bare toes on too-small PJs instead of his father's face. Still started by the sudden weakness in his otherwise strong father. "Pal...Aw c'mon. Get over here." Keith obeyed. Hoping onto the porch swing while his dad tried, in vain, to discreetly put the whiskey away. But that didn't matter. His father embracing him. How could Keith not melt into it? How could he not take comfort in the bigger, warmer body all around him? Sure, his dad smelled like whiskey and oil. But he was his dad And Keith loved him. "You're a lot like your mom, you know that?" Keith stilled. His dad never talked about his mom. EVER. "You got them smart, sharp eyes. Can hardly keep up with ya Pal." His father laughed, big and booming as he pulled back to ruffle Keith's hair. Tears in his eyes. "Sometimes...Sometimes I wonder if she can us from up there. If she loves us just as much as we love her. If..." Turning his head, Mr. Kogane pointed with a callous hand at the stars above them. Shining, glittering. Like pretty things Keith and his dad couldn't even HOPE to have. His father started sobbing. Pulling Keith close, the grown man sobbing into his son's rumpled PJs. Wailing like his heart was being crushed. And maybe it was. "If we could ever give you the life you deserve Pal."

why is lance's only trait being allura's boyfriend??? everyone, even allura's own dad, thanked lance for choosing her and loving her but like what about lance???

what about the things he had to sacrifice becauee he accidentally became a paladin??? he had to leave his family behind and i bet every single day he misses them, his mom, dad, sister, niece and nephews but he hides it behind a smile because what else can he do??? hes in the middle of nowhere in space and hes got responsibilities on his shoulders because hes a paladin, what about when those responsibilities become too much for him??? hes still a young boy, about 16 or 17 im gonna guess. what about the numerous amount of times he felt insecure and unworthy and unloved and undeserving??? how come no one told him that they are proud of him for the things that he did and how deserving he is of the love and care from others???

do they all see him as the boy who fell in love with allura at first glance who then accomplished his dream of being her boyfriend???

like im sorry but this is a hate crime

first of all the relationship was one-sided from the beginning. allura never saw lance as a potential partner material. the only thing that happened between them was lance's huge crush on her. allura never noticed it nor did she care to. thats it.

you cant just tell me she went and fell in love with lotor and then found lance when she was looking for a replacement. if that did happen, thats pretty disrespectful to lance but also allura would never do something like that.

i was actually quite shocked that the writers made them a couple. they literally have no chemistry together whatsoever. even allura didnt deserve this. i mean, lance is a great guy and is a great partner but allura had so much more development to do i just -

THEORY TIME THEORY TIME

After watching the heartbreaking, tearjerking finale of Voltron Legendary Defender, it gave me time to think about the future of the Paladins + Coran. Specifically their bloodlines. 

Now we don't know much about the biology of the Galra species but we can assume that they have longer lifespans than humans. Lotor has lived for a very long time (long enough that he could establish a colony and see generations of said colony) and Zarkon has survived 10 000+ years with the likely help of quintessence. That being said, who’s our favourite half-galra paladin of Voltron? Mr emo boi Keith Kogane himself. 

Now this got me thinking. Under the assumption that Galra do live longer than humans, this means that Keith could quite possibly outlive the rest of the paladins and many of those he considers friends. 

Another thing. We also don't know much about the biology of the Altean species but we can assume that they also live longer than humans. There’s no specific amount of time that the original paladins of Voltron served, but assuming that King Alfor had to plan and construct all five lions which could take a long time, then be one of the paladins and have a daughter who grew into a young adult, we can assume that Alteans have a longer lifespan. That being said, who’s our original Altean and our somewhat Altean? Coran and Lance. 

Now Coran, being slightly older, may not outlive Keith perhaps but Lance is a different situation. We don’t exactly know what happened to Lance when Allura (R.I.P.) turned him into an Altean. Did she just give him the face marks? Did she completely alter his bloodline and biology? We don't know and we may never know for sure. But if she did alter his biology, then we can assume that he lives a longer. 

Now here comes the hurt.

Obviously the paladins don’t live forever. There will be at some point that a paladin doesn't make it to the annual Allura (R.I.P) day dinner at Altea because they passed. Soon they just start disappearing one by one. And who’s left? Coran (possibly) but if we are going along with this theory, Keith and Lance will be the only ones left. 

If Coran was the only one left, it'll be just like the beginning. Just him and Allura (R.I.P.) alone. But this time Allura’s (R.I.P.) a statue. Coran, being alone at the statue of the person he swore to protect and had come to protect the paladins that have gone before him. 

Now if Lance was the only paladin left, he’d be alone at the statue of the love of his life without his friends, the people who always had his back and he always had theirs. The people he had so selfless protected now gone and well, I imagine he'd be feeling a little lost. 

If Keith was the last one left, then he’d be alone at the statue like a lone wolf once again like he was at the start of the series and without the people he’s has come to let into his life and place his trust in. The people he’s come to accept as a family and put down his barriers for but now they're gone and he's alone again just like he was years ago. 

Well this was slightly emotional. oops. 

if I had a dollar for every time ‘fire the ion cannon’ is said in voltron I could afford to pay for my therapy after all the shit that happened to my favs in every single season of this show

Colleen and Sam Holt are a power couple and no one can tell me otherwise

The fighter squad all radiate big dick energy and I love them all

they have my entire heart

the way they portrayed Shiro and Adam’s relationship

lgbt+ was probs normal considering the events take place after WWIII so it wasn’t a big focus

the lifestyle they lived made it hard for relationships and they showed that well

the fact that they showed that war takes who it takes and doesn’t leave remorse or sympathy behind for the people who survived and how those left behind have to deal with it wow its so realistically portrayed you don’t see that in your average tv show

the fact that shiro didn’t have time to grieve because of everything that was going on and it’s so prevalent in today’s society wow props to the writers for how well they wrote this

Hunk trying to get his parents back just everything about that

the fact that this stuff like labour camps has happened in the past and continues to happen to some degree today and the way they showed it in a children’s tv show the writers are amazing

hey, uh, did someone order some angst tropes?

lance being super insecure, feeling bad because he knows it’s irrational, but he feels like he’s being over shadowed by his fellow paladins.(shiro doesn’t have an arm and he’s fine, i really don’t contribute anything meaningful to the team).

pidge trying really hard to rationalize her feelings; isolating herself completely in the process, but not knowing how to open herself up to anyone, because she doesn’t even know how she feels.

hunk trying his best to be the support everyone needs, but he gets overwhelmed and breaks down because he can’t handle the emotional turmoil the team is unknowingly putting him under, but he can’t let it show because he’s the rock.

allura getting high-key depressed, because she is trying so hard to make the universe a better place, but every time she takes a step forward the galra push her five steps back, which makes her feel as though her efforts are useless.

coran not being able to stay on the same project for too long and being scolded for it, he tries to stay positive with new adventures and tasks, but he feels like he needs to put aside his personal happiness and wellness, because he’s being berated for it.

keith and lance get into a fight, so as shiro is trying to act as peace keeper, he overlooks important information and because he’s the leader he blames himself for any and all faults of the mission. he starts doubting his leadership but hides his feelings to appease the team.

keith blocks out everybody in his life, claiming he doesn’t need it, everybody already thinks he’s the lone wolf and all. he starts getting snippy and easily irritated because of his pent up feelings, which starts to put the team at risk.
