i do not have a great track record rn for historical knowledge but doing some research on this specific art of King Baldwin IV on his deathbed, passing on the crown, i have reason to believe he was still alive when this was created?
Here hes depicted with a halo which can mean many of things, but concidering its square is a big factor here as a square halo often signifies the person was still alive when the art work was being made.

managed to work on the mask a bit more as im feeling better, thank you to everyone who was concerned about my wellbeing, it means alot to have such a supportive group of people! :)
i know the mask is looking bumpy, with the materials i am working with its quite difficult to get an exactly perfect finish, but i promise with weathering itll look just as good as the movie! :)
(btw theres no filter on this, my room was very pink at the time of taking this lol)
the patterns im using for my baldwin cosplay are both from vogue this should be fun

if anyone is curious on the supplies im using im very big on being affordable and cheap and depending on the project i will use "plaster of paris" and gauze/cheese cloth and dollarstore paint
for my current project, the king baldwin mask, i was lucky enough to find a very odd 3d render of the mask to get printed, i am now sculpting over that base layer with crayola air-dry clay
i hope this inspires some to start creating with the materials they have on hand or can buy cheaply :)

Short answer, Sybilla, long answer, Sybilla and/or Guy.
I know Guy is a bad.. guy, HOWEVER i absolutely love how they played so much into how *evil* he could be and made him look so comically villianous which managed to make me laugh with how well they played it up, they gave him one of the only french accents in the film and made him talk all smug-like in contrast to more of the normal acting characters, (besides Balian, who is a complete stereotype while also having the personality equivalent of flour).
Sybilla, shes pretty and a somewhat complex female character and one of the only women characters we see who pull the plot forward, while she is widely inaccurate in terms of sleeping with balian and going against Guy and them having this weird conflict which is far from the historical reality, i absolutely love her outfits and i could fix her indefinitely

what about King Baldwin IV that attracts everyone in some way?
is it the fact he never married and died (relatively) young? That he was supposedly very handsome, charasmatic and talkitive? His willpower? etc?
i hope this isnt sounding judgmental, i am very much the same in that way im just curious as to everyone else here

King Baldwin IV should really be called the Babygirl King with how big his lips are on the mask
Favorite thing about Kingdom of Heaven (besides Baldwin, of course, lol)?
my favorite thing overall is the cinematography and the use of colour in the film, along with *some* accurate representation of how things looked at that time (i could go on a whole tangent on the inaccuracies tbh)
the soundtrack is also quite nice, what do you like about the film?

hello! i got this recently and wanted to share it for others who want some merch of him :)
reading the koh script and good god, this film couldve been so much better
i like to ensure it looks good from all angles, especially the side profile im most careful about, this awaits sanding after adding and removing some features, i am sorry if in the process it loses what you may have enjoyed previously

if you are following me or the tags i commonly post in youll see I'm working on King Baldwin IV's mask from koh,
im not entirely sure how to segway this but i did want to show that im using this as a reference and i wanted to share as these photos may be useful to other people either crafting their own things, drawing him, or just wanna see additional information on the movie details :)
i hope this is useful information to those in this fandom
gotta add details and make his face a lil rounder, but otherwise, its getting there
ive had to resize his lips 3 times, i will hold off on updates as to not clog up anyones feed, as he currently is.. his chin is falling off and i have to sculpt some more lol
has anyone made this comparison yet?
mask update: after an hour or so of sanding, hes starting to take shape! still lots of work to be done but atleast hes smoothing out :)
