*Nori came home from school, with a tired expression. Today was… tiring. So many work, walking, chatting, noise, and interaction. Honestly he couldn’t keep up with his younger brother with his grades. Nori envied Senjuro, for being able to talk to people normally, or having good grades, or just being normal. Nori was the opposite of Senjuro. Weird, sucks at school, and unapproachable. It’s… a lonely life and sometimes Nori felt alone.*
With a heavy sigh, Shinjuro had returned to the house from his dojo. He was having a hard time keeping up with all the new students lately, it was exhausting, but he was happy.
He heard the door, signalling the arrival of one of his sons, he approached slowly, cautiously to see who it was before he spotted Nori. He looked at them quietly, worried.
“Welcome home, how was school?”
It was an innocent question, though as he observed his son, he questioned if it was the right one.
“Would you like a snack? Your mother made some ready before she went shopping.”

so uh, this is a drawing of my oc, their name is Nori Rengoku, the middle child of the Rengoku family, and their 16. they’re a trans gender man who used he/they pronouns, and he has SHIT luck with love. Literally shit. Nobody gives him chocolate on Valentine’s Day (except himself) and they basically gave up on love. Also he likes to draw and focus on criminal justice, and wants to be an activist or lawyer.

Okay, so this is a little thing that I just thought of about Demon Slayer. And I'm just going to kind of glaze over everyone's trauma in this post because, let's face it, about 99.9% of those characters have an immense amount of trauma.
Okay, so if a human eats another human after some time, they'll most likely go insane if they keep doing it, especially if they eat the brain( don't ask me why I know this) but what if the reason why a good portion of demons is not most go insane is because they ate human like the actual flesh. Because whether you want to admit it or not demons were once human. While demon like lady tamayo and yushiro don't go insane really because they just drink the blood, not eat the flesh. And what if the reason why genya ( I know that it could just be the way he is or have another mental issues but this is just a thought with my insomnia kind of kicking my ass) keeps changing like personalities is because he is eating demons that have been eating humans kind of like in the case of if a human eats another animal that has been eating humans kind of like those few cases where pigs ate humans and then people ate those pigs kind of go a little mental ( I like to look up some weird stuff and one of my favorite book series is the Asylum confessions that are based off of true stories and one of them talks about this killer that would feed his victims to the pigs and then eat those pigs and him and his boys kind of went insane well not really but mental it's a good series I do recommend) so what if they went truly insane because they ate humans and the reason genya switches personalities so quickly is because he's affected by that. And what if that is why Tanjiro actually is a bit more merciful with some demons it could also be he's just a very kind heart which he is but he can smell that they're sick as well as them being demons. It has been confirmed that he can smell like sickness and death on people, so why couldn't he be on demons. And what if little spoiler here when he and his dad went and killed that bear that was killing villagers he smelled a sickness on the animal like he smelt it wasn't right and what if in his travels he was able to piece together that the bear kind of had the same smell as the demons that it was sick from ingesting human.
I know that I'm pretty sure somebody else has thought about this. I'm most likely not the first I just thought this was kind of a weird thing and it's also that was kind of cool how it kind of plays into that I don't know if it was intentional or not but it's kind of cool. Please add your own thoughts if you like

Setting: Rengoku Home – 3:12 AM
The house was quiet. Dark. Peaceful.
Until it wasn’t.
A sharp, angry wail split the silence, and Kyojuro shot upright like he’d been summoned to war.
“I’ve got her!” he declared in a whisper-yell, nearly tripping on his own haori as he dashed toward the nursery.
You groaned from bed, half-asleep. “Kyo… it’s okay, I can—”
“No, no, my love! You rest! I am on official flame father duty!”
Inside the nursery, Kyojuro approached the tiny crib with reverence and absolute panic.
“Hello, my little night torch,” he whispered, lifting her up gently. “What a powerful scream! So strong! So bold!”
She responded by immediately peeing on his hand.
“…A glorious gift,” he muttered through gritted teeth.
One chaotic diaper change later, he was staring at a pair of socks.
Tiny, pink, ruffled socks.
He held one up like it was made of ancient magic. “Look at this. Her entire foot fits in the palm of my hand,” he whispered, eyes wide.
Then, softly, like the weight of it had just landed on him: “She’s so small. How can someone this small take up so much of my heart?”
She sneezed.
He gasped. “Bless you, fiery bean!”
The sock dropped. He forgot it entirely.
Instead, he cradled her close, pacing the room with exaggerated care. “When you are older, I will teach you about the stars, and the way maple leaves change, and how to roast the perfect sweet potato.”
She blinked at him. Yawned. Then spit up on his shoulder.
He didn’t even flinch. Just sighed dreamily. “You are perfection.”
By the time you shuffled to the doorway in your robe, you found him sitting in the rocking chair, baby asleep on his chest, one sock still missing, his hair a disaster.
You smiled. “Flame father duty going well?”
He gave you a dazed, radiant smile. “I would die for her.”
“…You’re covered in pee.”
“And I would die again.”

Setting: Rengoku Household – Three Months After the Baby Was Born
It was early morning. The baby was finally asleep after an epic crying marathon that could’ve rivaled a thunderstorm. You were slumped on the couch, hair a mess, sipping lukewarm tea like it was your last lifeline.
Kyojuro tiptoed in and whispered like it was sacred: “The flame has settled.”
You just stared at him.
“She’s literally drooling on your haori.”
“A small price to pay,” he replied proudly.
The baby—Kaede Ren Rengoku, carefully chosen from your dramatic naming ceremony—was swaddled and dozing on his shoulder. Peaceful. Angelic. Finally.
Then Haru walked in.
Still yawning, hair sticking up in every direction, he glanced at the baby and said, “Sup, Meatball.”
You blinked.
“…What?”
Haru grabbed toast. “Meatball. I don’t know. Her head’s round. It’s kind of cute.”
Kyojuro gasped in horror. “She is not a meatball! She is our daughter! A sacred spark of destiny!”
“Sacred spark’s been farting for three hours straight,” Haru mumbled.
Aiko walked in behind him and nearly dropped her tea. “Wait. Did you just call her Meatball?”
“She looks like one today!”
“She really does,” Aiko agreed way too fast.
You buried your face in your hands. “Guys, we picked her name with, like, two family meetings and tears and a Google doc.”
Kyojuro sniffed. “It was a noble quest.”
And yet… two days later, you found yourself cradling her and whispering, “Shh, it’s okay, little Meatball…”
The room went silent.
You looked up.
Your whole family was staring at you.
“…Don’t say it.”
They said it anyway.
“IT STICKS!!”
From that moment on, little Kaede Ren—your beautifully named, carefully swaddled child—was known as Meatball to every Rengoku under your roof.
You gave up. You leaned into it.
And honestly? She was kind of a cute meatball.

Day 19: Angry Santa, Sanemi Shinazugawa
Warnings: Sanemi get’s angry
(_____) giggled quietly as they carefully walked through the halls of their and Sanemi’s shared home. They made it into the living room and sat in their favorite spot. A smirk appeared on their lips as they waited for the fun to start.
Sanemi woke up feeling colder than usual. He reached over for his lover to pull them close once more. But was met with emptiness. Opening his eyes he saw that his lover was nowhere to be seen. He groaned and sluggishly got up, wandering to the door of their bedroom. Once the door opened a wave of ice cold water washed over him. A bucket of it had been poured on him. He yelled in surprise and shivered. “DAMNIT (_____)!!!”
Sanemi walked with the occasional shiver as he walked into the study. As soon as he stepped into the room the door closed and locked behind him. He tried to open it but it wouldn’t budge. He looked around the room and found a present with a note on it. Sanemi walked over and read the note. Open me~! :) it read. He rolled his eyes and followed the instructions. Inside of the present was a towel and a change of clothes. He dried off and changed into the outfit without thinking much of it.
Once he was dressed the door opened again and he went back into the hall. There on the ground was a map of the house. Sanemi rolled his eyes and followed the map. It led him to the bath, where he got paper snow dumped on him, the kitchen, where he got blasted with towels, the laundry room, where he was trapped in a swarm of clothes and towels, and he was led to many other rooms throughout the house.
After what felt like an eternity he finally made it to the living room. There sat (_____) with a coy smile on their lips. Sanemi on the other hand looked pissed beyond belief. He marched up to them angrily and glared at them. But (_____) just kept smiling. In fact, they stood up and pushed Sanemi into their seat before sitting on his lap. Sanemi blushed and grumbled before hugging them close to him. (_____) giggled as they kissed his cheek. “My angry Santa.”

Day 18: Ice Skating, Giyu Tomioka
Warnings: Very short
The freezing air made Giyu shiver as he was led by his lover (_____). “Come on, come on, come on, come on!” They said as they continued to drag him through the winter forest. They brought him to a frozen over lake and dropped their bag onto the ground. (_____) pulled out two pairs of ice skates smiling at a nervous looking Giyu.
”Come on Giyu! It’s fun!” (_____) called out to him as they stood on the ice, holding their arms out towards him. Nervously Giyu nodded and grabbed their hands. (_____) laughed and pulled him onto the ice. “Just follow my lead.” Giyu nodded and tried his hardest to do what they instructed.
After a while Giyu started to get some confidence and started to skate on his own. “There you go!” (_____) said as they clapped. Watching as Giyu started to skate on his own. And only a couple seconds later he slipped and fell flat on his back. (_____) rushed over to him and checked to see if he was hurt. Thankfully not.
Giyu was embarrassed that he fell but still wanted to keep skating. So shyly he skated with (_____), holding hands. And even when they got tired and decided to go home, Giyu still held their hand. He knew that if the other Hashira saw, the both of them would be endlessly teased.

Day 17: Fireplace, Kyojuro Rengoku
Warnings: Rengoku being worried for over the reader
(_____) was exhausted, the mission that they had just finished kicked their ass, hard. They couldn’t wait to get back home to their lover, Kyojuro. The snow didn’t help, making them feel even more tired and exhausted. It felt like ages but finally (_____) made it home. Opening and closing the door they fell to the floor. Not feeling like moving anymore.
“My love welcome hom-(_____)! Why are you on the floor?!” Rengoku said as he rushed to his lover's side. “Too tired to move…” (_____) mumbled as he picked them up. Carrying them into their bedroom he sat them down on a chair. He left them and came back a couple minutes later. He undressed them and carried them into the washroom. A comfortable silence took over as he washed his lover with attentiveness and care. Once he was done, he dried them and dressed them again. Carrying them to their living room to sit together.
Kyojuro placed gentle kisses from their temple to the base of their neck, up and down. He held them close to his warm body. (_____) was the most relaxed they had ever been. Their lover loving on them, being warmed by the fireplace, and being home. They felt like the luckiest person in the world. “I love you so much Kyo.” They said in a tired voice as they rested their head against his. “I also love you, (_____).”
The two spent who knows how long in front of that fireplace. A couple of naps here and there, not wanting to get up because of how comfortable they each were. If any of the other Hashira had seen them. The teasing would go on for years and years.

Day 16: Christmas Scarf, Hashibira Inosuke
Warnings: Fluff
Japan had been snowing for weeks on end now and (_____) was enjoying every moment of it. Especially the moments where they were with Inosuke. Currently the two were at the Butterfly Estate, (_____) sitting on the edge of the deck while they watched Inosuke play in the snow. He was huffing and puffing, jumping in and out of the snow. It was an adorable sight, like seeing a puppy see and play in the snow for the first time. Except Inosuke had seen snow many times before.
Inosuke jumped and landed making (_____)’s chuckle turn into a full blown laugh. “Are you having fun Inosuke?” They asked, he nodded aggressively in response. He went back to playing in the snow as (_____) continued to watch him. A little while later (_____) started to feel the effect of the cold weather. They shivered as they called Inosuke “Inosuke! Let’s go inside, it's starting to get really cold.” They got up as Inosuke ran over and jumped onto the deck. He ran inside while (_____) followed behind him at a walking pace.
The two sat together in front of the fireplace. Inosuke had to hang his boar head and change due to them becoming wet. He snacked away, not paying attention to what (_____) was doing. He didn’t pay attention to them until he felt something soft touch his skin. “Huh?” He said as he looked to see what the soft thing was. “What is this, soft worm?” (_____) chuckled and shook their head. “No, no, this is a scarf. It will keep you warm.” They wrapped the scarf around his neck loosely. It was so long that it started to wrap around his shoulders.
He smelled it and bit it before spitting it out. “Definitely not worm.” (_____) laughed and combed their fingers through his hair. “I made it myself. You can wear it whenever you're cold.” Inosuke nodded and buried his face into the scarf. He was happy he had (_____) in his life.
Why is it, that y/n always ends up pregnant in almost every single fic with my favs?!?!

Demon Slayer AU where everything is the same except Yoriichi is a ghost.
He’s corporal/people can see him, he can change his appearance from when he was a kid to when he was old.
He follows Tanjiro around. They met sometime before the Hashira Training Arc for sure, but how early depends on what the writer decides. Has he been there since pre-canon? Or did he show up after the Entertainment District Arc (would honestly make most sense since Tanjiro didn’t know about Sun Breathing until after Mugen Train, but again this is an AU).
He meets Muichiro, and after it clicks that he’s Michikatsu’s descendant Yoriichi follows him around too, eager to be close with the family he could never have.
Depending on when they met, Yoriichi could help Muichiro recover is missing memories earlier than in canon.
Other things about/to include in the AU:
Kamaboko Squad centric (Tanjiro, Nezuko, Inosuke, Zenitsu, Kanao, Genya, AND Aoi and Senjuro)
each member gets a one-on-one interaction with him at some point, which will add to their own personal character growth
Whether or not Yoriichi can physically interact with others is up to the writer
making him able to fight demons seems kinda OP, so unless the writer can find a way to make it make sense about how he can maybe don’t do that
maybe he can exude enough strength to stun demons, but not fully kill them
can he pick things up, or do they just pass through him?
He helps train Tanjiro, making him more proficient in Sun Breathing
this can give Tanjiro more time to hone is Water Breathing. It always irked me that Tanjiro didn’t practice Water Breathing as much when he discovered Sun Breathing (don’t quote me on that, I get my info from TikToks and reaction videos. But why learn two breathing styles and not increase your skill in both?)
this can allow a Giyuu training session in the Hashira Training Arc that we didn’t get to see
Expanding on Yoriichi changing his age: I feel like the older he presents himself, the more power he would have. So when he’s fighting, he’s somewhere between his 20s and 80s. However, because this takes up a lot of energy, when he’s not fighting he’s typically in the form of himself as a child or in his teens
whether or not his mentality/maturity is affected when he’s at different ages is up to the writer so long as it’s not portrayed in an erotic/kinky way
Yoriichi can give tips to the Hashiras that those in the Sengoku Era used (information always has the potential to be forgotten, so maybe there were some tricks that were forgotten about?)
can provide more information about Muzan and his weaknesses, since he was the only swordsman who came close to killing the Demon King
Interactions with Lady Tamayo and Yushiro!
Fluffy moments! Slice of Life, Found Family, all the tropes! Let him be the father to the Kamaboko Squad that they never had/lost (let him have the chance to be the father he never got to be)
Lots of interactions with Genya (is my favoritism showing?)
bonding over being the younger brother
bonding over their endless love for their older brothers
bonding over their older brothers who do so much to hurt them, but they just can’t stop admiring them
Let Yoriichi give Sanemi a talking to
yes, I understand why Sanemi acted towards Genya the way he did. He wanted to protect him, keep him out of danger. However. Good intentions DO NOT give you a free pass on bad actions.
the way that Sanemi treated Genya was cruel and frankly unacceptable; he could’ve gone about it in a much more mature manner
Interactions with Giyuu and Yoriichi!!
mostly bc Giyuu is my fav Hashira, but I notice a lot of similarities between them
Maybe Yoriichi can provide information about Kokushibo/Uppermoon 1?

Okay so I was taking a shower and I was listening to music like the cool cat that I am when “Time In A Bottle” by Jim Croce came on and immediately, my brain was like “what if you just started thinking of Kagaya and Amane from Demon Slayer?” and so I did and now I’m feeling really sad because it’s too real like they really didn’t have enough time with each other or with their kids and they were way too young to go the way they did.

Obanai: No, go ahead. Which colour of my hair do you like? Black or black?

Obanai: Whatever.
Giyu: Uzui, I like the red dots near your eye.
Tengen: Naturally! But your compliments are in desperate need of flair and uniqueness. You just keep going off about colours of things and eyes.
Giyu, completely ignoring Tengen: Shinazugawa, I like... the colour of the scar near your eye?
Sanemi: That doesn’t even make sense AND you said it like a question! How the fuck is that a compliment!?
Giyu: It just is.
Sanemi: No, it fucking isn’t!
Giyu, ignoring Sanemi and remembering that Gyomei is blind so colour and eyes mean nothing to him: And Himejima, I like your generous personality and your compassionate manner. You really hold this team together.
Gyomei: Why, thank you for saying something so personal and kind.
Giyu: No problem, man.

Tanjiro: But he didn’t even finish asking the question. What if he says something different than what you thought he was going to say?
Zenitsu: ... It’s Inosuke. He only thinks of, like, one thing.
Tanjiro: Who knows? He may surprise you.
Zenitsu, to Inosuke: Is it bad?
Inosuke: Only if you think feeding the pillar to the demons as an unwilling sacrifice is bad!
