I lil artwork I made for my LUDND au! Not exactly very D&D-looking though, but it is for the au!

I think one of the juiciest LU AU/plot ideas Iâve seen is the civil war one. (my dumb American ass thought THEâ American civil war the first time I saw a post about it and not marvel civil war)
Like omg the plot is basically the chain comes across some sort of issue or moral conundrum that splits the chain in two where they either start working alone OR against each other
The split has to be crazy tho, like itâs always Legend Vs. Hyrule, something even they canât agree on. Twilight and Wild split up or Twilight and Time start beefing. Four splits into the colors. Usually poor Wind and Sky are just kind of stressed out by the whole thing.
I wonder what would realistically cause such a rift though. I think it would probably be a situation where they had to kill people or something, like not necessarily Yiga or cult members but maybe a small group of traitors to the crown who start working for Ganon or something. Theyâre misled for sure, but theyâre also causing irreparable harm to Hyrule. Maybe itâs whether or not to answer the call to war.
I think in that case it would be Legend, Wars, Wild, Vio, Green, and maybe Wind for the pro side and Time, Hyrule, Sky, Twi, Red, and Blue for the against side.
I think a lot of tension would come from Legend assuming Hyrule would be willing to attack other Hylians bc theyâre both from the same era but it turns out Hyrule is pretty much the only person in his time not down with that kind of stuff. Wild thinks that heâs fine with this kind of stuff, he fights the Yiga on a daily basis after all, but he doesnât actually remember his time as a soldier. Wind mightâve been influenced by Legend or Wars OR maybe his time in Warsâ era is fresh in his mind. He thinks he can cope again. His fight against Ganon was comparatively so vulgar too. The colors of course are stressed, split down the middle.
UGH I just love the drama of it. I like messy concepts and conflict a lot. If anybody else has thoughts or messy prompts pls share!!
you guys know the trope in anime or other media where they have to dress a guy up as a girl to go undercover or something and heâs just so embarrassed/annoyed? I think in the chain it would be the opposite
Maybe the chain has to get in somewhere, maybe a Gerudo run city and ofc men arenât allowed (this is with the assumption everyone in the chain identifies as male). Somebody, maybe Wars, is like: âalright guys⊠I think the only way we can get in is by cross dressingâŠ. Is everyone comfortable with that-â only to turn around and everyone is basically already in dresses.
Like obviously thereâs Wild with his Gerudo outfit. Legend and Hyrule have canonically worn dresses. Time didnât have a strong grasp of gender, especially gender norms, until he was like 10. Wind has a little sister, he probably plays dress up with her. I feel like most of the chain is gender nonconforming asf. Four was literally forced to talk personally with each aspect of not just his personality but his soul, heâs got himself figured out. Twilight is similar, he was literally a wolf, the clothing he wears is definitely not what defines him. Sky just gives me the vibe that he doesnât think itâs that deep. And Wars is a dedicated guy.
and so, turns out none of them actually really care.
legend is just: âIâve literally been wearing a dress this whole time.â Everyone kinda thought it was a fancy tunic đ
do you guys think whenever the chain has to split up to do tasks some chain members get salty if theyâre not put into the same group?
my vision is Wild and Hyrule holding hands giving Time the biggest puppy dog eyes, silently pleading with him to pair them up. Like a pair of high schoolers who want to get put in the same group project
he splits them up usually bc they cause problems together or get too side tracked and each time they, mostly Wild, throws a fit like: âThanks a lot Time đ now Iâm gonna go die of sadnessâ
The others (Twilight and Legend) are just: âam I not enough for youâ
I should start this by saying that Iâve never played the game myself but I really love the concept! I do apologize if things are messy though, this really just spilled out of me đ for anyone who doesnât really know Detroit Become Human, itâs basically a future America where a huge company makes hyper realistic androids who have different jobs. They all have the ability to deviate which is basically just them breaking past their coding and developing a conscience/sentience (and I would say a soul). The company obviously doesnât like this and tries to stop this. If anything, this is just my take on an Android AU.
Anyways, hereâs it in context of LU
Sky: Bodyguard Android
starts to deviate when he starts forming an attachment to Sun
She gets kidnapped in a political scheme. His handlers try to bench him but he fully deviates and goes out by himself to find her.Â
Heâs probably a newer model or gets upgraded regularly. Sun is sentimental so she tries to make sure to keep him because heâs familiar in her busy life. (Sheâs the daughter to the president or whoever the head of state is)
He manages to find and rescue Sun but not without suffering a lot of damage. Especially electrical damage.
Sun is touched. She doesnât care that her savior is an android at all and she especially doesnât care that Sky is deviated. She loves him too. She tells him that she could always tell that he was differentâŠ
It pains her, breaks her heart, but she sends Sky away for his own good.
Four: Different androids downloaded into a child modelÂ
Four is the combination of 4 different deviated androids uploaded into a child model.Â
Red, Blue, Green, and Vio (these are like perfect names for robots) all âworkedâ in the same company. Itâs like a big sales department or something like that.Â
Red is a nanny bot for the buildingâs daycare, Blue is a security bot, Green is a secretary bot, and Vio is basically a filing bot
They all deviate separately. When itâs found that theyâre deviating theyâre all destroyed on company grounds and dumped in the landfill. (Itâs cheaper to do this rather than send them back)
Green managed to wake up. Heâs broken beyond repair but he manages to spot an empty child android near their dumping spot. He takes pity on the others and somehow manages to upload them all into one body.
Shadow is a virus in the bot they all share. He got so big that somehow he developed a consciousness of his own. (Probably the reason the model was discarded in the first place. Imagine youâre grieving so you get a child android and it starts going âevil modeâ)
Somehow they all make this work, Shadow included.
Time: Repurposed as a farm Android
Time started out as a child android but was recycled to be used in a small military project.Â
This project is the predecessor to the one Wars is in so itâs mostly just an experiment.
Time starts to deviate because whoever was supposed to wipe all of his previous hardware, THE CHILD HARDWARE, messed up and left a good portion of it behind along with his memory bank.Â
So now Time is basically child coding in an adult model being forced to learn how to commit acts of violence. It doesnât mesh well with his former programs and he deviates.Â
He escapes and immediately gets swiped up and sold to a pawn shop.
Eventually Talon buys him for extra hands on his ranch.
Time starts to really enjoy this. He takes to the farm lifestyle really well. Malon also is really great. He loves having a friend.Â
As she grows, he finally gets to grow, mentally at least. Itâs a weird experience for him because a good amount of his programming was never meant to grow past a child state.Â
Malon and Talon realize that heâs a deviant and probably has been for a long time. They donât care and vow to protect him. Heâs family.Â
Malon and Time fall in love and take over the ranch. Slowly it becomes a safe space for other deviants.
Twilight: Officer Android (Turned wolf)
Twilight is an officer android at a womenâs prison.Â
A lot of the people there actually like Twilight a lot because he is not cruel or condescending like a lot of the human officers and heâs kind of easy to get stuff out of.
They can mess with Twilightâs programming enough to get extra stuff from the commissary or help with their jobs. Twilight is very helpful. Heâs also programmed to know their rights and local social programs so heâs very useful to have around before court dates.
Midna is an android activist who had gotten incarcerated. She slowly gets Twilight to trust her and eventually convinces him to help her break out. He doesnât realize it, but sheâs been slowly getting him to deviate as well.Â
When the break out happens, Midna gets away and Twilight gets captured. She feels awful knowing that heâs likely going to be destroyed.
Instead heâs used in some experiments where they try to plant human focused hardware into android (can androids be animals???) animals. They put him into a wolf dog that would usually be meant to assist police.Â
This is a miserable experience for Twilight, especially now that heâs deviated.
Midna, whoâs poked around to see if she can save Twilight from being pulverized, stages a rescue mission and gets him out. She sends him somewhere she things will be safe.
Wind: Child Model in a retirement home
Wind is a child android thatâs used in a retirement home to bring joy and to lift the spirits of the residents there.Â
At first he doesnât even realize that heâs deviated until Granny, his secret favorite resident, mentions it to him. Turns out a lot of the old folks knew but they didnât care bc Wind is so charming and they really do love him.
For a while he continues as normal, just with the knowledge that heâs loved. If anything he performs better.Â
One day Ayrll, the granddaughter of Granny, is visiting. Another resident gets really confused and tries to grab her, hurting and scaring her. Wind uses physical force to separate them, something not in his coding at all.
The retirement home doesnât want to do extra paperwork so they get rid of Wind by tying him up and dropping him off a boat. (The retirement home is on the ocean)
Tetra later fishes him up and brings him back online.Â
Tetra is very happy to have a âmaid botâ which pisses Wind off a lot. She lives in a multigenerational home so sheâs excited to do less chores.Â
They all figure out that Wind is deviated but they donât care. They all take him under their wing and fully still expect him to do chores
Legend: Standard Household AndroidÂ
Legend is an earlier model of a household Android. Heâs been bought and sold 6 DIFFERENT times.
The first time was from his uncle who didnât actually want him for his programming. He was a lonely old man and Legend was on sale. He treats Legend like a person and when he passes away Legend starts to deviate.Â
Legend is auctioned off in an estate sale and some people from outside the country buy him. He travels around with a group that does environmental work and performs aid programs for a while. Everyone there also treats him pretty friendly. On a boat ride back to the mainland a storm hits and Legend goes overboard trying to protect people on the deck.
He washes up on a small island where a girl Marin finds him and repairs him. She, and nobody on the island, treats him like an android at all. He fully deviates and enjoys living like a person. The storm comes back and decimates the island. Marin is gone.
The people who come to offer aid recognize Legend as a deviated android and ship him back to be tested on.Â
There he meets Ravio, who is the same exact model as him. Ravio is meant to be compared to Legend so they can study differences in deviant and non deviant androids.Â
Legend manages to escape wherever theyâre keeping him one day and bumps into Ravio during his attempt to escape. Ravio has never left the series of offices he first woke up in. Heâs not fully deviated but he wants to know freedom. He and Legend escape together.Â
Hyrule: Medical Android (hospital setting)
Hyrule is one of the first medical androids. Unlike the more modern medical androids, he has a lot of built in programs and functions that newer models donât have.
He has a built in defibrillator, inhaler, but most uniquely he can make drugs and medicine on the spot. These would be things that paramedics tend to carry like morphine, epinephrine, ketamine. Also more simple things like cold medicines.
His kind was discontinued due to a lot of legal actions taken by companies under big pharma. Itâs too convenient, and cheap, to have robots who are programmed to help anybody in need distributing drugs for free. Also some issues with drug dealers stealing his model to have them continuously producing drugs to sell.
He gets discarded, thankfully through illegal means so instead of being sent to a processing facility heâs dumped behind the hospital in a dumpster.Â
He spends years wandering the streets in shadier parts of the city aiding people who need it. He doesnât know when he deviated but it happened slowly.Â
Heâs hunted by both gangs who want to use him to make drugs. Heâs also hunted by the corporation that made him believe that older models that have deviated hold vital information to how it happens in the first place and heâs part of the last of his kind so they want to dissect him.Â
Warriors: Soldier Android (Secret military project)
Warriors is part of a military project to use androids as soldiers. This is probably breaking a lot of international treaties so itâs kept as a secret.Â
He was meant to be a âcaptainâ Android, one that can over power other androidâs programming to control them.
One of the people working on the project becomes infatuated with him. Cia đ. She steals him and takes him home.Â
This is nowhere near as fun as she thought it would be because he doesnât have a lot of social programming. He just walks around her house and barks orders at the microwave and tells her what strategies they can use if her apartment is attacked.
She buys pleasure bot hardware that has a âboyfriendâ program on it because this is becoming unbearable.
Uploading the hardware causes Wars to IMMEDIATELY deviate because this is not at all what he was built to do. It actually corrupts some of his programming.
Heâs confused and scared while Cia is exuberant. Finally she has a proper boyfriend. She can ignore the glitching and bugs because at least Wars isnât yelling at her computer anymore.Â
Unfortunately for her, Wars was developed to be a strategic war machine, boyfriend hardware or not, so he identifies her as a threat because she hurt him. His new hardware, however, makes him not want to hurt her. So, he runs away.
Wild: Lab Assistant Android
Wild was an assistant to some brilliant scientists in a lab and engineering facility.
He worked primarily with Flora who treated him like a robot in every way. Sheâs kind of creeped out by the idea of androids so sheâs not really fond of having one around her all the time. He is useful though.Â
Her coworkers treat the android a lot more humanly than she does for a while. Eventually she gets used to him and starts getting kinder and kinder.Â
Wild starts to deviate but he desperately tries to hide it. He really enjoys the time he gets to spend with his friends.
One day something goes wrong and the lab starts to explode. Wild fully deviates to rescue Flora. Heâs able to get her out just in the nick of time. He gets stuck inside though after a wall collapses and traps half of his body under rubble. He yells at her to run and so she does.
Wild comes back online with his memory files damaged or gone and half of his body melted and severely damaged. He canât remember anything but he feels like a person.Â
Eventually everyone ends up together on Timeâs ranch but I really havenât thought out a story ;âą_âą
I hope this isnât a confusing or messy read đ it really just kind of poured out of me. Iâm aware thereâs like a crazy amount of plot holes but I had a ton of fun writing this!! I might go back later and rewrite or try and clean this up. If you have any thoughts, questions, suggestions, (how to fill said plot holes đ) please lmk!! I thrive off of interaction!!! Ty for reading đ
alright! Here are the backstories to the main guys in my maze runner AU! This is before theyâre put in the maze. Iâm sorry itâs so long, I was gonna write even more but I think that would turn it into a behemoth đ
hereâs a short chart of everyoneâs ages and age that they entered HYLIA
Age lineupÂ
First is age taken. Second is their current age. The timeline in years is also included (being the year of the age they were taken. They all enter the maze in year XX86)
Warriors:  0yo* - 21yo XX65
Time:    11yo - 23yo XX74
Legend:  7yo - 18yo  XX75
Hyrule:   9yo - 17yo  XX78
Four*:    8yo - 16yo  XX78
Sky:     12yo - 19yo XX79
Twilight:  13yo - 19yo XX80
Wild:     11yo - 17yo XX80
Wind:    10yo - 14yo XX82
and hereâs the backstories!
Warriors: Warriors was raised in HYLIA. His parents worked there and had him tested shortly after he was born for resistances to gloom and mind control technology. He tests very well, sliding into that <1% of the population that has significant resistance to the building apocalypse. He wonât know this until heâs an adult, but his resistances arenât natural. Heâs one of the first to be the product of genetic engineering, also one of the only successful cases. From a young age heâs trained in leadership classes and in other courses. When heâs 9 heâs told that a new program will run soon with other children like him and that itâs his responsibility to lead and represent them. The first kid in the program is time, whoâs just a little bit older than Wars is. He doesnât really care about how bossy Wars is, he kind of just goes along with whatever he wants. Wars is secretly happy to have a friend who isnât Artemis, another kid like him who will lead any girls who enter HYLIA. Things are good until LEGEND comes along. Legend is the first person he meets who opposes HYLIA and isnât there by choice. So he tries to steer him in the right direction but it goes poorly. Itâs not much better when Hyrule comes along bc Legend immediately attaches himself to the kid. It goes on like that, and after a while Warriors finds that heâs not actually friends with any of the other boys except for Time and maybe Wind but thatâs embarrassing bc Wind is a child. HYLIA uses Wars as the golden child of the group which he takes a lot of pride in. Deep down he really wishes they didnât so that maybe he could join in on the easy comradery that the other boys have. When HYLIA tells Wars about the maze he agrees that itâs for the best. There is (seemingly) no other way to grab such important, and life saving data, as this. Hyrule being sent in first is kind of a traumatizing event for everybody but he doesnât let it shake his resolve. After watching the maze for months, he finds himself questioning HYLIAâs methods. As soon as he voices his concerns, heâs sent into the maze.
Time: (I wanna thank @pepperpuppy417 for this one, a suggestion of theirs really helped!) Time grew up in a foster home out in the boonies of Hyrule. He grew up very happy in the countryside of Hyrule and lived in nature. Unfortunately when he was a kid the cult released a new variant of the gloom in the forest by the small town he lived in. This variant had the ability to spread not just to Hylians, but to flora and fauna as well. Soon his entire village gets sick, him included. When the Hylian royal army comes he overhears some dignitaries talking about burning down the entire village and forest deeming it a lost cause. He tells his foster father who tells him to run, so he does. He escapes the army but he bumps into a stranger right away. Heâs too sick to run by this point, but the stranger treats his gloom sickness and miraculously he makes a recovery. He starts traveling with this stranger for two years. He never gets any name to call him except for Fierce. Their time starts coming to an end when Fierce starts dying due to a brain tumor. He asks if he can give Time a gift. A selfish one. Time accepts and Fierce implants a microchip into the top of his spine. He tells Time that when he needs to use it, heâll know. Time doesnât know what this means for a long time. He and Fierce get apprehended by Hyrulean guards. They find that Time has significant resistance to both gloom and mind controlling tech. Heâs surprised because he didnât used to be but says nothing. Heâs sent to HYLIA and never sees Fierce again. He doesnât trust them from the get go but goes with it. He likes Warriors, despite thinking heâs a bit brainwashed, but he senses a very earnest, kind person in him. Even if heâs neurotic. He becomes a bit of a big brother to all of the other boys in his ward. Time is always calm, he has a lot of humility. Time is biding his time, waiting for revenge, for his time. (Geez how many times can I say time??) Everyone is surprised when he reacts poorly to the idea of the maze. Heâs been very compliant with Hylia up until now. He starts getting more and more vocal about how it isnât right. They send him in shortly after Legend.Â
Hyrule: Was found as a homeless child in a âcult townâ. Cult towns are towns with a lot of the mind controlling technology around so that everyone in it is at the whims and wills of the cult. Hyrule, and Dawn and Aurora, were kids in that town that somehow didnât get affected by the technologies. When the kingdom of Hyrule was finally able to overthrow that town, they sent Hyrule, and the girls, to HYLIA. He has the best resistance to the mind control out of anybody in the chain, but he has no resistance to the gloom. He and Legend have been like brothers since meeting. Legend took Hyrule under his wing because he wasnât allowed to stay in the girls wing with people he already knew. Heâs super grateful to Legend and looks up to him. Hyrule considers Wild to be his best friend. Hyrule was one of the people trusted to keep an eye on Wild when he was introduced to the group bc they knew any lingering effects of the mind control wouldnât hurt him. Hyrule is sent into the maze first due to his high marks in survival courses, good attitude in high stress scenarios, and because they were slightly okay with him dying. They sent a person with the very good odds of being able to survive alone but also a person who wouldnât be a total loss if they were to die. His lack of resistance to gloom is what sealed his fate. Theyâll be able to go full out with the mind controlling technology when itâs just Hyrule in there but many of the others have good resistance to it as well. What Hyrule doesnât have is gloom resistance, something they also really want to look into. It was between him and Wild. He, and the chain, were only told a day before he would be sent in. Legend freaked out so badly that he had to be sedated. He wasnât able to say goodbye before Hyrule was sent in.Â
Legend: Legend grew up with his uncle away from his father due to family drama surrounding Legendâs birth. (His father cheated on his wife and Legend was born out of it.) Legendâs uncle contracts the gloom and sends him to his father before he dies. Legend's father freaks out bc Legend has to be infected after living with somebody who had the gloom for months. Miraculously he doesnât, so they have him tested and heâs just about immune. His sister is as well. Legend's family sends him and his sister to HYLIA where they both grow extremely resentful of their family and of HYLIA. Legend hated those early days. The only other people were Wars and Time and they wouldnât spend much time with him. He and Wars also constantly butted heads. He was so lonely. When Hyrule comes, Legend attaches himself to him and makes sure Hyrule isnât alone like he was. Legend is horrified when Hyrule is going to be sent into that place alone so he protests. Too hard. He wakes up in the med wing horrified when he realizes they didnât let him say goodbye. Heâs constantly monitoring Hyrule. You canât pull him from the screen. When Hyrule gets hurt, Legend begs to be sent in. It takes two weeks but they finally relent and then Legend is officially the second person to be let in.
(The Four): So I decided to split Four into the colors, I feel like the maze needed more people bc it was kinda sparse and then I realized that Four can literally be 4 people. So Vio, Red, Green, and Blue are all half brothers. Their father, a captain to the royal guard, had a four month break one year and in that time he decided to have a bit of a ho phase. Later that winter a woman appeared at his house and begged him to take custody of their child. He agreed, being more well off than her and welcomed Vio into his home. To his shock, the same thing happens 3 MORE TIMES THAT WINTER. Obviously he gets dna tests and yup. All four are his. His father helps raise them, honestly does most of the job since the captain is very busy with work. The colors live very happily with their grandfather until a mind control machine is dropped into their village.. everyone in the town but the boys get messed up from it, going fits or dissociative states. He sends the colors to live with their father again. The captain is shocked that none of the boys are hurt. They get tested and lo and behold, they have a good amount of resistance to the mind control machines. Their father sends them to Hylia thinking it will be a really good opportunity for them to get better schooling. The colors do pretty well, they all have each other at the end of the day. The one issue is that they get RELENTLESSLY bullied by another kid named Shadow. Shadow got in just before they did and is of a similar age. Eventually Vio befriends him and they all find out that heâs just insecure yadda-yadda. Shadow is a weird case because he has no resistance to gloom or mind control, but was infected by gloom until he reached a stage 3 state and somehow recovered which was thought to be impossible. Heâs involved in different testings than the chain. The colors and shadow all grow really close, Vio and him even becoming boyfriends. When they get sent to the maze, Shadow copes poorly.
Sky: I feel bad. For Sky Iâve had the most trouble with his backstory, (dw, Iâve got plans for him when heâs actually in the maze), so I apologize to his fans. Sky grew up pretty upper class basically in the royal family being born to a very high ranking royal guard. He was being trained to be Sunâs personal guard. When theyâre both 12 they go through regular preteen checkups and the royal family is incredibly relieved that the heiress and her guard have substantial resistances to both gloom and the mind controlling technology thatâs terrorizing Hyrule. To further keep them safe from an increasingly angry public and worsening political atmosphere theyâre both sent to Hylia where they can get fantastic educations while keeping them out of the public eye. Sky keeps quiet about where heâs come from because he quickly realizes that a lot of these kids are not as fortunate as he is. He also quickly realizes that heâs treated a little bit differently than the rest of the kids. Some of them get physical training, a lot of them choose self defense courses. Sky does too, wanting to keep on top of his training. He quickly realizes that while their trainers are okay with occasionally injuring say Time or Hyrule, or honestly any of the other boys and girls, heâs never come out with anything worse than a bruise. He makes the choice to be the nice kid, the one who wonât start beef or trouble because this place is VERY troubling. Before he can really figure out whatâs wrong and how he can fix it, the maze is launched and that solidifies his worries. This place isnât what it says it is. They tolerate it when heâs caught sending messages to the royal family about his worries but they swiftly react when they find out heâs been trying to send messages to outside friends as well. They send Sun into the maze which basically sends Sky into a rage nobody ever predicted possible from the gentle guy. They sedate him and when he next wakes, itâs in the maze.
Twilight and Wild: These two have a story that is too intertwined to not tell together. They both grew up in the same orphanage. They had always been closer with each other over the other children and considered themselves to be brothers. The cult launches a mind control machine in their town and it lands on the outskirts. It doesnât immediately plunge the town into a subservient dissociative state but everyone starts suffering from severe migraines and some start to struggle with seizures. Nobody can move it because the waves get stronger the closer one moves towards it. Wild doesnât like what the technology is doing, he thinks itâs mean. Twilight listens to him complain about it but he tries to tell him that the Hyrule Royal Guard will send somebody to deal with it soon. Nobody comes and people start dying or dipping into the aforementioned dissociative states. Twilight wakes up to find Wild gone. Twi is panicked and runs after Wild to find him heading towards the mind controller. Wild manages to destroy it by the time Twilight catches up. He finds Wild unconscious bleeding from his nose and mouth, barely alive. Twilight doesnât notice that he himself only has a small headache from standing so close to the machine. He drags him back to town desperately trying to find help. Wild wakes up, but itâs with little cognitive function. He canât eat by himself, he canât bathe himself, he canât speak. Twilight is devastated, feeling deeply as if he failed to protect him. Only after the mind controller is destroyed does the government send anybody to the town. Twilight immediately hates them. He hates that he ever thought they could help. To his horror, he realizes that they might be able to now. He swallows his pride and asks one, who he doesnât realize is a HYLIA representative, if they can fix his brother. They listen to his story and test Twilight to see if heâs mind control resistant. He is. They agree to help him if he agrees to join their program. Of course he does. While they fix Wild they discover that heâs incredibly resistant to gloom. Itâs probably the reason they let him live. When Wild wakes up from surgery he canât remember anything. Not even Twilight. Twilight is willing to rebuild his relationship with Wild, but thereâs a deep anger boiling within him. He doesnât think Wildâs loss of memory was a side effect. When the maze is proposed Wild is one of the first people willing to go in. Twilight does everything in his power to stop this.
Wind: Wind and his little sister are raised in a small beach town thatâs pretty protected from the rest of Hyrule. Things are peaceful for a long time until, of course, theyâre not. The gloom has spread to the waters near his small fishing town and people start getting sick fast. His grandmother becomes very ill from the gloom and it turns from her looking out for Wind and Aryll to them looking out for her. Wind, despite barely being 10, knows he has to do something and fast. Regular people can barely survive the gloom. A woman of her age makes the odds so much worse. He sets out to find somebody who can work and finds a government camp nearby who are probably there to stop the gloom from spreading into major waterways. He begs for an antidote and they take interest. Wind and Aryll have been closely exposed to their infected grandmother for days, maybe weeks, and show no signs themselves. They agree to help but will need a favor in return. They treat granny and tell Wind and Aryll thereâs a place they can go where they can help everyone. Granny greatly encourages them, she believes it will be safer for them there rather than out here. So Wind and Aryll go to HYLIA, the last people to arrive. The older kids dote on them, even though Wind doesnât think he needs it. He and Aryll also, unfortunately, kind of become a mechanism of control for the ârowdyâ older kids. When something goes wrong or somebody acts up, HYLIA is not afraid to put either Wind or Aryll in the way. When the maze opens and many people begin voicing their discontent, Wind is sent in as a message to the other boys.
anywho!!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LMK ANY THOUGHTS! I have a lot more info in my head but I think it would be confusing or too complicated to write it all out đ so if you wanna know more about anything or anyone pls know I am always so so happy to chat!!!
In honor of the 39th anniversary of Zelda here are my theories for the chainâs birthdays!
Iâm going in order of game release so first up is:
Hyrule: whoâs birthday just passed, February 21st! What Iâm mostly doing is going by their game release dates. Happy Birthday Hyrule!
Legend: Legendâs birthday going off of game release would be November 21st!Â
Time: Now things get a little complicated because Ocarina of Time coincidentally was also released on the 21st of November. So, either itâs a weird coincidence that Time and Legend share a birthday oooorrrr⊠we could let Legend call dibs and have Timeâs birthday be April 27th, Majoraâs Maskâs release date.
Four: December 3rd!
Wind: December 13th!
Twilight: So Twiâs is November 19th which is super close to Time and Legendâs bday. I guess theyâre sharing a birthday weekend.
Sky: omg đ Skyâs birthday is November 18th. Iâm starting to get the idea that Nintendo was releasing games close to the holidays for holiday sales. At this point even if I changed Legendâs bday to a different one of his gameâs release dates Sky and Twi are still sharing.Â
Warriors: thank goodness. His bday is May 18th.
Wild: His is March 3rd!
Okay and now hereâs MY personal thoughts. This is gonna be zodiac based. Like, holy cow, no way that half of them can be Scorpio Sagittarius cusps đ NIGHTMARE.
Sky: Sky was my most easy choice. I think he would be a Pisces. Total dreamer, metaphorically and realistically. He seems like a really subtle and calm dude, really in touch with his emotions until he is not.Â
Four: My most difficult choice but I settled on Virgo. Super reliable, a bit bossy, pretty stable person. And like Sky, until theyâre not đÂ
Legend: Either an Aquarius or Leo. Extremely stubborn but extremely reliable. A real go-getter even if he complains the whole time. Also main character energy just, emanating from him.
Hyrule: it would be perfect if I could also claim him as a Pisces bc his gameâs birthday is one but I donât think it fits him as well as Sky and if I can I want to assign a different zodiac to everyone (even if thatâs not perfectly authentic.) I almost assigned him as Gemini, which I think could be a good fit for him being a very go with the flow sign but heâs not enough of a yapper đźâđš. I think Sagittarius fits him in a weird way that you wouldnât quite expect.Â
Time: Easily a Scorpio. Mysterious but has a lot underneath that. Dependable with a secret type of crazy.
Twilight: Easily a Taurus. Incredibly dependable in the way that makes him a safe space. Incredibly Stubborn. Sassy.Â
Wind: A Cancer. Truely a summer sign! A water sign that is in touch with his emotions. He has tough skin but might be prone to mood swings. Leader material.
Warriors: Aries.
Wild: A Libra! Romantic, kinda whimsical, but a trendsetter at their finest. Donât let him sweet talk you.Â
lol feel free to ask for more reasonings on my sign choices or feel free to argue about them. I know any astrology babes probably have an opinion on this đ
Gloom and Mind Controlling Technology:
I mentioned that HYLIA is trying to fight off and end the growing control of another group called the Cult of Demise. The cult has weaponized a virus that evolves too quickly to make a vaccine. The cult also uses mind controlling technology that requires very expensive technology to combat. These roadblocks are why HYLIA is so interested in less than 1% of the new generation of children and young adults who have significant resistance, and in some cases full immunity, to either the gloom, mind controlling technology, or even both.Â
So
Hereâs quick explanation about how the gloom and mind controlling technology works:Â
The gloom is a highly infective virus that wears down the body typically over the course of 2 months. The gloom is highly infectious and has begun to spread into flora and fauna in some regions (this is speculated to be genetic engineering done by Demise). It tends to advance in 3 stages. The first one lasts the longest, about a month. During this time the person afflicted will find themself weakening at a rapid pace, being prone to cold like symptoms, severe migraines, and nose bleeds. The second stage lasts 2-3 weeks on average, the person will rapidly deteriorate and experience changes in personality such as aggression, severe depression that is rapidly onset, and dread. The last and final stage is short, a week at the longest. The person enters a zombie-like frenzy, often being physically aggressive whilst showing signs of memory loss. Then they die. The first stage is curable, with a 70% success rate greatly depending on age and health. The second stage is also treatable, but with much worse odds with only 30% dying. The final stage is untreatable. Keep in mind a good portion of the citizens of Hyrule cannot afford or donât have access to treatment.Â
Shadow was taken in by HYLIA not because heâs resistant to the gloom, but because he had it to the point where he entered the third stage. Instead of dying, he miraculously recovered.Â
The mind controlling technology are usually large boxes that the cult tries to drop into convenient locations, such as small towns, Hyrule army camps, and so on. They emit electromagnetic waves that work at a frequency that disrupts the neurological functioning of Hylians. Depending on the frequency, strength, and proximity to the mind controllers (I should probably think of a cooler name for these) people experience migraines, seizures, and not too uncommonly death. The other major influence of the mind controllers is that people most often slip into a very dissociative state where they become very agreeable and unable to fight back. The cult typically uses these people as serfs. People who are rescued from these states often suffer from brain injury, the death of glial cells, memory loss, and they often demonstrate signs of early onset dementia or altheimers. Weâll see more of this with Wild
hereâs a little scale I made for the chain showing how resistant they are to gloom and/or mind controlling tech (I hope it makes sense)
Gloom to Mind Control Resistance Scale
The first number is gloom. The second is mind control. Scale goes from 0 (none) to 5 (total).
Hyrule:Â Â G(0) - MC(5)
Legend: Â G(4) - MC(2)
Time: Â Â Â G(3) - MC(3)
Wind: Â Â Â G(4) - MC(1)
Four*:Â Â Â G(1) - MC(4)
Twilight: Â G(2) - MC(3)
Sky: Â Â Â Â G(5) - MC(2)
Warriors:Â G(4) - MC(3)
Wild:Â Â Â Â G(5) - MC(0)
Anywho! Please lmk any thoughts, suggestions, questions, or just if you enjoyed! <3 I really love talking
the chain but theyâre a van life family YouTube channel
Okay, I got way ahead of myself in my last post đ I forgot that maze runner didnât have the same impact on everybody as it did me. Hereâs the actual plot of my AU so that it makes sense to everyone đ
Hyrule has reached an incredibly advanced age of technology and other sciences. (So think like, hunger games, or any sci-fi movie that takes place like, 200 years in the future.) Most of Hyrule has fallen to a horrible virus called the gloom. This gloom grows through plants and taints water sources. This virus was engineered by a terrible cult called Demise, a group of people under the control of a man named Ganon who wishes to take control of Hyrule.Â
In retaliation, a group sponsored by the royal lineage of Hyrule creates a research facility called HYLIA to study ways to take down Demise and fight against the gloom. They take individuals from across Hyrule who show either great resistance, sometimes even immunity to the gloom, and/or significant resistance against the cult of Demise. Demise has some type of brainwashing technology that causes people to either become submissive under its rule or compliant to the cult, often joining it.Â
Of course in this story the people taken are the boys from the chain and also all the Zeldas. Theyâre all taken young, at least in the quarter HYLIA that they live in. Most of them were surrendered by their parents but others were either found or taken. HYLIA cannot afford to be kind.Â
So in essence, everyone is stuck there, but itâs not horrible. They spend a lot of time getting ânormalâ schooling. Theyâre subjected to tests but itâs not necessarily like a horror lab AU. Theyâre not treated like animals or anything but they certainly canât leave. This of course leads to a lot of resentment from the chain.
Eventually HYLIA starts getting frustrated. They arenât getting very far with their testing. It just isnât⊠natural. One of the key discoveries is that gloom resistance and resistance to Demise mind control is really hard to replicate in practical labs. The labs canât be unbiased with literally the same exact sample each time. They realize that the only way they can actually get results is through real life experience. But how can they get that when all these people have been living in HYLIA for years?Â
The Maze is born. It's huge, spanning hundreds of acres of land. In its very center lies the glade, a safe spot of land in the middle of it all, the maze surrounding it. (Iâll try and draw a rough map at some point.) They build two of them. One for the boys, one for the girls. They fill the mazes with genetically engineered monsters that they infuse with low levels of the gloom in order to see how the âparticipantsâ react when they fight them.Â
The mazes are full of different puzzles and beasts so that HYLIA can study the participants and how they react. Through these means, they believe they will understand how to defeat Demise and the gloom.
I mentioned before that they send in each chain member going off of their game release dates. This starts with Hyrule and ends with Wild. They time this just around the span of a full year, sending in a member around a month or two at a time.Â
Before they send in each member, they completely and FULLY erase their memories so that when they wake up in the glade, all they can remember is their name and age. They do remember how to do things, like math, reading, survival skills, etc. but they donât know how or when they learned it. Sometimes they might get strong feelings, but thatâs all they have. Theyâre essentially new people once they hit the maze.Â
Iâll get more into the chain members and dynamics next time! Or I can write about anything you want đđđ please lmk thoughts!! They keep me motivated
HEEHEE OKAY. Lowkey feeling a little bit old with this one but đđđÂ
Maze Runner AU.
Maybe itâs just me but I feel like the Lu boys fit perfectly into this scenario. Like itâs just music to me.Â
Itâs been a long time since Iâve read the books (lowkey gave up on the movies đ), so I apologize if things are fuzzy or donât match the book canon that well. Okay here we go:Â
Hyrule would be first in the maze. (Iâm going by game release order). Hyrule starts exploring the maze after he gets to know the glade, but a severe accident makes him avoid it. He would be alone all by himself for almost 4 months before heâs joined by Legend. He knows the glade better than anybody. Later he becomes the groupâs âmed-jackâ (basically just medic). Heâs 17.
Legend is next. He becomes the first runner in the maze because he made SEVERAL escape attempts before Hyrule begged him to calm down before he got himself killed. Heâs really good at drawing maps and becomes the map maker. Heâs 18.
Time was a bit of a shock because unlike the other boys heâs an adult (23), tall, and swole. He came 2 months after Legend. The boys are really skittish around him at first, but heâs really good at building. Heâs able to reach the high places they canât so the come around.Â
Wind is also a surprise but because heâs young (14). He comes a month after Time. He brings a lot of energy to the group and they grow closer because of it (or at least Legend and Hyrule get a little less codependent and spend more time with other people). Heâs very frustrated because he wants to help with running the maze but the others, mostly Time wonât let him. This is around the time that Time (ugh) takes his place as first in command.
Four is the first person to actually take to the maze well. The others are shocked, waiting for his crash out but it doesnât come. He confides one night that his head doesnât feel right, like itâs holding too much. The longer he stays the more prone to severe mood shifts. Heâs 16 and takes care of building things like tools and handling small mechanisms. He came 2 weeks after Wind, having the shortest amount of time between arrivals.
Twilight is another person who doesnât take this maze business well. He stalks off immediately into the maze. After going in and out of the maze for days, not listening to the protests of others, he comes back with awful claw marks raked across his face. Heâs more inclined for teamwork after that. Wind pulls out his fun side. Twilight has a green thumb and starts domesticating the plants of the glade. Heâs 19 and came 1.5 months after Four.Â
Sky is a nice addition. He comes 2 months after Twilight Heâs the most gentle person to come up so far and is very inclined to teamwork but⊠Sky is drawn to the maze like a moth to a flame. Somehow he drags a very aggressive bird species from it into the glade and starts farming them. Sky is 18.
Warriors doesnât take his arrival well, but at this point thereâs already 6 people to yell at you to not run into the maze first chance possible so he doesnât. Warriors is incredibly logical and a great planner. He doesnât take much time to become a second in command. The whole time heâs in the maze he has a sick feeling that he recognizes it. Heâs 21 and had come a month after Sky.
When Wild comes itâs a shock because he comes 5 months after Wars. Wild is the worst case of memory loss theyâve seen. Most people remember weird things like their age or even a name to go by, but Wild has nothing. He learns quick, however, and becomes the groups most fearless runner. Heâs 17. Greenie.
I have more, but this would be a little too long if I wrote all the lore I have building >_<. I have a rough plot in mind and lore for them in the maze if anyone wants to hear about itÂ
Please lmk what you think and any theories you might have!
I was feeling a little edgy, a little angsty (perchance). I wanna say, this is based a little bit on canon and a lot a bit on vibes. Maybe this can be my (low effort đ) febuwhump. Anyways, in order from first to last here it is.
Four - Four is in his mid-twenties when he gets called to help investigate with the resurgence of dark magic in the palace of the four swords. He goes in not expecting much, heâs used to being called to help aid in small things, like monster uprisings or in this case something to do with dark magic. He doesnât expect things to go so wrong. Itâs dark magic alright, but so much of it that itâll overcome the land immediately if something isnât done. Ganon is trying to return and Four is the only person in the way. So, he gives everything to seal it away. This effort fractures Four again, but not in the way it did before. This time the colors donât reunite with each other but instead Fourâs physical body is vaporized and his soul tears in to four pieces, each absorbing all the leftover darkness that Four couldnât stop. Dot has no choice but to seal the palace completely.
Hyrule - When the chainâs journey ends, Hyrule doesnât return home to a peaceful era. His journey continues and despite his and both princessesâ efforts things start to get worse. The cult has grown in an huge way and Hyrule soon knows no peace, constantly traveling to avoid them. Theyâre grasping at straws and with each year that passes since Ganonâs death they get more agitated. By his late twenties heâs more than exhausted. Hyrule no longer knows rest. He canât return to the castle or any town, not even, especially not even, the ones that had been kind to him. The cult would find him. They burn would burn down buildings, cut down people, and even trample crops just to get to him. Unrelated to Hyrule, they destroy new growth forests and scar any attempts by the earth to heal. This has to stop. He goes to the cult and finds Ganonâs ashes himself. He makes sure that there isnât anything left this time. The fire he creates, his last spell, burns for years.
Twilight - Twilightâs body is never found. Everyone who had known him had been greatly concerned for him for a few years now. It seems that he had been slowly going mad ever since he had turned 30. He had grown more and more restless, walking circles in his house until the carpet wore down. He withdraws for weeks, emerging with untrimmed hair and wild eyes. He holds a great sorrow at all times that cannot be quelled. He starts disappearing into the woods for weeks at a time. One day it all stops and it seems that heâs calmed down. His mind has returned to him. He begins tending to the ranch again, he smiles more, laughs more. But⊠There's an everlasting air about him that just feels like heâs waiting for something. A great storm descends on Ordon one day. It brings some destruction with it. Floods wash away buildings built too close to rivers and trees fall from loose soil. In its wake, itâs as if the world was shining silver. Twilight is nowhere to be found.
Wild - Wild is almost 40 when he leaves his and Floraâs shared home to go on a little expedition. He doesnât know what heâs looking for this time but he craves fresh air and adventure. Heâs on a well worn path, just leaving from a stable when he drops as if he were a puppet with all of its strings cut loose. And thatâs it for him. Of course other travelers and stable hands try to check up on him, but heâs gone. Thereâs not a lick of life left in him. Purah runs a series of autopsies and canât find anything wrong. He was in perfect health when he left and the people interviewed at the stables claim he was acting normal, or as normal as Wild can act. Purah decides that he mustâve thrown a blood clot or something, he probably had a left over brain injury from Hylia knows what, but both she and Flora know thatâs a lie. They wonder if the shrine of resurrection only had so much to give Wild. They wonder if they have timers too.
Time - Time is almost 50 when he returns to battle. Thereâs a returning darkness that must be quelled. He prays that this wonât turn into another failure of his, that the mistakes he makes now wonât hurt his successors anymore than heâs already hurt them. His ocarina stays home; itâs buried deep under a floorboard beneath his and Malonâs bed. He takes some peace of mind from that. His fight takes him back to the lost woods where he never returns from. Itâs decades later and Malon is old. Her hair has long been grey and she has grandchildren to keep her company. How she wishes Time couldâve met them⊠Sheâs called to the castle one day and asked if she recognizes skeletal remains of a Hylian body that was found downstream from the lost woods. She does. She prays that with a proper funeral her love might find rest, but she knows that he wonât.
Warriors - When Wars returns to his era, his work doesnât end. He finds himself training the next generation of warriors and then the one after that. Wars never stops working as there is always work. There is always something he can do to make his home safer, to keep his people happier, to make them stronger. Heâs still working by the time heâs halfway through his 70s. His friends and family beg him to retire, even Zelda has passed the throne down to her heir, but thereâs still more to be done. He takes lunch one day in castle town and goes to his favorite pub. Despite the castle nurses banning him from eating overly rich food and beer until he has a less stressful lifestyle (itâs way too hard on his heart), Wars still likes to sneak a treat every now and then. Whatâs it gonna do? Kill him? He never finishes his last pint.Â
Wind - Wind dies by complete accident. It happens when heâs in his 80s. Heâs chatting with his mates while cleaning one of his old swords. He hasnât had to use one in decades but he likes to keep them in good shape just in case he has to. Somebody tells a HILARIOUS joke. Wind doubles over in laughter, but as he does so he impales himself straight through. As heâs rushed to the newly opened hospital, Wind canât help but continue to laugh. Oh boy is this stupid. He tells the nurses not to tell Tetra. Sheâd never let him hear the end of this. One of them starts weeping. Through tears she tells Wind that he wonât survive this. When they remove the sword he will bleed out unless he drowns in his own blood first. He cringes and tells them to DEFINITELY not tell Tetra. Heâs a little annoyed when she and their closest friends and family come rushing in. She berates him. In between curses he can tell that sheâs crying. He spends his last hours cracking jokes and sharing stories and gossip with those closest to him. When he starts struggling to stay conscious, they all bid goodbye and Tetra pulls out the sword. A year later, to her embarrassment, Tetra dies the exact same way.
Sky - Sky passes away peacefully in his sleep a week after his 100th birthday party and he KNEW it was coming. Sky knew for months. It started as small comments like at breakfast where heâd be like âHylia willing I will see the solstice celebrations next weekâŠâ and his grandkids, and great grandkids, would be like âGrandpappy donât say such things!â And heâd relent but it escalates to him asking his family members and friends which of his possessions they liked most. If they fall into his trap and answer, Sky tells them to write their name on it so they can have it after he passes. Nobody does this to his disgruntlement. Eventually they stop believing him because it gets to the point where every other dinner Sky mentions that his time to join Hylia draws near. Just in case they make his birthday a grand event. Somehow everyone, but Sun, is still a little surprised when he goes. Sheâs like *shrug* âhe did mention itâ. Like lovebirds, Sun follows him shortly after.
Legend - Nobody in the royal family knows how Legend is still alive. Some say itâs his great spirit, others claim that it must be courage, and those that know him best claim that it's sheer spite. If they were to actually ask Legend himself heâd spit. âThe bitch goddess wonât let me.â He makes his opinion of his long lasting life obvious. No longer is Legend asked to attend prayer services or holidays in celebrations of Hylia. Not after the last dozen⊠incidents. Legend stopped counting how old he was after the passing of his dear sister and dear rabbit. The nurses who do frequent checkups on him mention that he is 121 years old. He rolls his eyes. Legend wants to go and he brings this up frequently, usually over dinner. He has great great great grand nieces and nephews now. He cares little to meet the next coming generation. Still, despite his fits of anger and general grumpiness, he is well loved. He lives in the castle now, not trusted to take care of himself. The kids love him best. âGrunkie Link tells the best stories <3.â He always makes sure to press treats or old rings into their hands when they pass. Itâs a stormy night when the castle is thrown into pandemonium. Legend has gone missing from his chambers. Honestly, how hard could it be to find a wheelchair bound 121 year old man? They find him outside, screaming at the heavens. âTake me you HAG!â Screaming turns to pleading. âI want to see them again.â Before anybody can get close, lightning strikes from the sky and smites the hero. Nothing is left behind but ashes.
pls lmk what you think! Feel free to argue if you have a different idea <3
Twilight going hunting as Wolfie after the chain runs out of food and everyone is starving. He blacks out a little and comes to eating a rabbit. Coincidentally Legend has gone missing when Twilight comes back to camp. Twilight is convinced he accidentally ate Legend.
for nights he sits on it, slowly driving himself mad, convinced he ate his brother. Right before he genuinely crashes out after the chain really starts worrying about Legend, the guy strolls back into camp with an armload of food like: âsorry I got lost foragingâ
Twilight bursts into tears: âI thought I ate youâ
he does not elaborate
When Twilight goes wolf mode does he retain a fully Hylian mind or does he have some wolf instincts? I havenât played his game or read the mangas (Iâm sorry twilight đ) so Iâm not sure if thereâs anything canon for this
what Iâm personally picturing is that he obviously retains enough of a Hylian mind to communicate, retain memories well, etc. buuuuuutt
for fun
I think he would have a lot of wolf instincts as a wolf. Like if heâs mad at somebody in the chain he might have half a mind to take a piss in their boots while in wolf mode. Or maybe the chain is admiring some voles or squirrels and Willie comes up and just goes chomp đ heâs a little horrified when he switches back to a crying Wind and disappointed Sky
I guess my theory is just basically tame werewolf Twilight đ
I also think heâd be colorblind, specifically red-green which dogs and wolves have
somebody pls lmk what you think, im pretty sure in canon he can talk to animals which would make him going âchompâ kind of fucked up of him but hey, heâs a wolf, food chain and all
Mitski Chain
I have a really bad habit that Iâm trying to break đ Mitski is one of my all time favorite artists but⊠I made a really bad habit over time of listening to her music when I have felt my absolute worst đźâđš Even thought I love her music so much I struggle to listen to it when Iâm in a good mood because it tends to launch me back to the REALLY bad times I let myself listen to her. Like, in sake of my mental health Iâve had to lowkey ban her for myselfÂ
Soooo⊠Iâm trying to slowly ease myself back into her music by trying to associate her with other things than my own struggles đ€
So hereâs the chain as Mitski songs! And a lyric from the song that particularly stood out to me for the guy
(Honestly, I think any Mitski song can kind of be applied to any of the chain but this is just my mood for tonite)

Anywho, pls lmk what you think if you have any thoughts or arguments! (ughhh Iâm sorry the layout is janky đ I wrote this in my notes app and it did not copy over well and wonât let itself be fixed)
this is stupid đ
I was laying down, having myself a maladaptive daydream session, and couldnât get this out of my head
hereâs which state I think each member of the chain would be from if they were American
Wind is from Hawaiâi and you cannot take that from me. If I were being biased I would say heâs from Oahu, but I could also see him being from Kauai. I just really see him as a town rat though growing up in Honolulu. I just think heâd love screwing around with tourists and sneaking into resort swimming pools
I think Hyrule would be from Alaska. Something to do with the sheer amount of wildlife and surprising rate of violent deaths that occur there resonate. In all realness tho, I think he would grow up on a frontier or homestead of some type. Maybe he would be a reservation kid
Warriors would be from Virginia. I believe he would grow up surrounded by military communities. I think heâd grow up as an Army brat (heâd probably move a lot but Virginia is home base to him). Heâd get into West Point and follow his familyâs footsteps in the military.
Wild would be from Florida. I donât really feel like I need to explain this one. Heâd go barefoot into the Everglades and mess around with wildlife. Heâd love petty crime.Â
Legend is a NYC kid but heâs spent every summer of his life visiting family in Boston. He grew up in Queens and has a thick NYC accent. When he comes home from the summer he has a Bostonian accent đ he knows the subway like second nature, how to barter, and the best food joints.Â
Sky is midwestern I think heâd grow in Minnesota. Heâs also got a strong accent. Very well adjusted to the cold. His idea of a salad is probably not your idea of a salad đŹ
I think Twilight would be Texan but Iâve seen strong arguments for him being Appalachian and honestly I canât decide. No⊠I think heâd grow up in Appalachia. Ugh or maybe heâd grow up in Montana on a ranch there. I canât decide. Pls help
I think Time would be Californian but he brings it up never đ one day somebody asks him where he grew up and heâs just like: Sacramento. The only reason I thought that is bc Sacramento is the city of trees⊠Time gave me lots of trouble. Another possibility is that he just answers with a different city each time heâs asked. Maybe heâs from Cincinatti đ Ohio
Four is so weird. Heâs Canadian (ily Canadians). I think heâd be from Montreal but has zero accent. Heâs fluent in French.
pls feel free to argue with me or offer your own thoughts
I think it would be kind of interesting if the chain went on two adventures. What I mean by that is the first one would occur while most of the chain have only been through one or a few of their games. This could also be seen as a childhood friends au? The chain is pulled together when most of them are pretty young.
Time has just finished Majoraâs Mask and is in full young teen angst, trauma, mode. Heâs extremely mischievous and poorly adjusted. Heâs only around 12 or 13 years old.
Wind has just been through the events of Wind Waker. Heâs only 12 and is pretty shaken up but still pretty similar Iâd say. Maybe even more hyper and desperate to prove himself.
Hyrule has just been through the events of Zelda 1. Heâs quiet and jumpy. Dawn has gently been spending the past two years trying to help him adjust to a more social life but itâs been slow going. Heâs extremely anxious to be around so many people. Iâd say heâs around 14.
Four has only been through the events of Minish Cap so heâs not even Four yet. His age is canonically the most confusing to me but I really like the headcanons that heâs a young adult who has a baby face. In this heâd be a kid though, so maybe around 11?
Legend I canât decide whether heâd have only been through A Link to the Past and the oracle games or if heâs been through Links Awakening by this point. I think it would be more interesting if he had just been through Linkâs Awakening and is severely jaded. Heâs 16. (If he had only been thru the oracle games heâd be 14 and a lot more light hearted)
Wild would have gone through the events of Botw being 17. Heâd honestly just be pretty baseline with no crazy changes.
Twilight would have also just gone through Twilight Princess being 18. I think heâd be really hung up on Midna.Â
Sky has also just completed Skyward Sword, I think heâd also be 18? Pretty similar to canon.Â
Warriors was plucked halfway through his game and thrust into this adventure. Heâs very stressed, worried he left his people behind when they needed him most. He becomes the group leader being the eldest at 20.Â
They come together, pretty much a platoon of child soldiers, defeat the evil, say teary goodbyes, and return home.Â
Years later theyâre all shocked to be pulled into a second journey across time and get to reunite with their brothers.Â
This time Time is his canon Lu age of being somewhere around his early to mid thirties being much more cool and collected than the actual child nightmare he was initially. He falls easily into a leadership role. He seems to have mended many of his mental wounds despite him being prone to grumpiness. This adventure after so many years of peace is pretty triggering though.Â
Wind has gone through phantom hour glass and is freshly 15. Heâs a little more mature now but very much so the same kid except now heâs like: âI see dead peopleâ
Hyrule is a lot better socialized this time. Heâs almost easy going and has a mischievous streak that the chain welcomes. Itâs a fine change from the scared scrawny kid he was years ago. He still is exceedingly sweet and has a plethora of new talents to share. He also has crippling paranoid and a blood phobia. Heâs around 18.Â
Four, despite being the youngest the first mission, is now a young man being in his early twenties. He doesnât talk much about his last adventure but heâs noticeably scatterbrained. Despite that, he can think outside the box like nobody else. Itâs like he can think with the power of four people! He also goes by the name four now.Â
Legend who has completed two more quests now is incredibly frustrated to have been yanked out of retirement/his wedding planning. Legend was able to manage a lot of healing over his last two journeys. He got engaged to the one and only Ravio who he was supposed to be working on wedding invitations with. Heâs lighter now but still a grouch at times. Heâs in his earlier twenties.
Wild has completed his mission from TotK and somehow his iPad can do EVEN MORE now. If lobbing bombs wasnât enough last time, now he can crawl through walls. He is noticeably shaken in a way he wasnât last time and has almost an unwilling clarity of the world around him. Heâs 21 now.Â
I so sorry but I donât think Twilight would be much different. If anyone has thoughts pls lmk. Heâs been able to move on from Midna and has thrown himself into shepherd work. I think heâd be courting Ilia and would be living a good country life while getting to brag about having tea with the princess. Heâs fairly okay with being on another mission.
Okay this is totally just a headcanon but I picture Sky as that guy you knew in highschool who gets married really young and starts a family right after school. Sky is stressed after getting sent on another because heâs in the middle of building a kingdom and his wife, Sun, is pregnant.Â
Poor Warriors. As mentioned the first journey happened for him when he was halfway through his war. Unlike many of the others, when he returned to his f ân c z timeline it was like no time had passed at all. For the second half of his war he met many new people and old friends. Mask (time) joined him, an older, almost grown version of Wind as his best friend and second in command, Ravio, Midna. When the war ends heâs saddened to say goodbye to dear friends once again. Warriors is whisked away to his second journey with the chain the moment his war ends. For him, itâs only been a year or less in some circumstances that heâs seen the chain. For most of them to had aged so much is jarring to him. The last time he saw them all it was him and a mostly non verbal group of children. Now itâs a group of almost all adults bar Wind, who was Warriorsâ age last time he saw him. Most shocking of all is to see his baby brother all grown up and older than him.Â
I havenât put much further thought into the AU but I thought the dynamic of splitting the chain up by the amount of adventures they completed would be interesting. Most of the chain also had started their journeys as children so I thought it would be a fun dynamic for them to have all met younger. Poor Warriors though, leading 6 mentally ill teenagers and children was a huge task. And now theyâre all either older than him or roughly the same age. I imagine they hit the pubs hard đ
I think this is my first Linked Universe post ever so I hope this isnât messy!
LU Soul Eater AU: this is how I think it would with pairings and the mild plot Iâve cobbled together!
The chain are people who were selected to stop the reawakening of an ancient evil, itâs just this AU equivalent of Ganon.Â
Hyrule and Legend would be a pair with Hyrule being the weapon and Legend the meister. Hyrule would be a magic rod capable of the spells that he knows from Zelda 2 and somewhat combined with the offensive abilities from his first game. Legend is very good at knowing what to push through and theyâre very in sync with each other.
Four kind of goes against Soul Eater canon and his actual canon but in a way that I hope makes sense. He is a weapon, the four sword which in this AU is like a Scottish claymore sword, thatâs made of the four colors after they essentially fuse together to create the weapon. Each color is also a weapon, all of them being different types of knives. Green a machete, Blue a trench knife specifically with the brass knuckle handle, Vio is a throwing knife, and Red a concealable switchblade. Shadow is their meister.Â
Sky and Time are the next pairing with Sky being the weapon and Time the meister. Sky would be the equivalent of the master sword, an ancient weapon passed down by bloodline. For Sky and Time however, Sky had been a meister until recent events and Time was a weapon in his past.
Wind and Warriors are a pair with Wind as the weapon and Warriors the meister. Wind would be a flintlock pistol. Warriors never stayed the meister of a weapon for longer than a year until he and Wind met.
Finally, Twilight and Wild, Twilight the meister and Wild the weapon. I think Wild would be the bombs from his first game, or maybe another type of sheika tech. I had the most trouble figuring out this pair.
I have much more backstory for everybody but I was worried it would get too long. If you want to hear them though Iâd be thrilled to talk about them! Iâd also like to hear other headcanons if anyone has them! Especially when it comes to Wild and Twilight đ I have part of their backstories but for how theyâd function, Iâm coming up blank.

The barren and war-torn earth was a strong indication of whose Hyrule they were all thrown in. The Captain neednât say a word to the rest of them before heâs ushering them away from the castle, which promptly raised a few eyebrows.
âThe castleâs that way, Captain.â Legend teasingly murmurs, a smirk tugging his lips as he recalls of the freakishly obsessive women the said reincarnation encountered.
But before Warriors could retort, a gasp leaves some of the memberâs lips as theyâre suddenly thrown into another portal.
Itâs odd this time. Instead of feeling ominous and dark, the gateway within the portal felt wide and open, the space within it constricting while stretching simultaneously.
They catch whispers of places far beyond, unfamiliar and familiar sights flash past members of the chain before itâs only a wisp of color and their feet suddenly touch on solid land.
Confused glances are exchanged as a feeling of deep, foreboding anxiety settles in the pit of Twilightâs gut, almost urging him to throw up his stomachâs contents as he takes in the familiar flora and fauna around the group.
He doesnât register what the Captain had been saying before Wild elbows his arm softly, snapping him out of his trance before whispering, âYouâve been distracted.â
Twilight blinks at him before nodding, âHave I?â He mutters, tone sounding apologetic causing his successor to give him a small, lopsided grin before motioning his head to the Captain.
âThe sands of time within my Hyrule billowed differently before..â He continues but it all clicks for them.
They werenât only thrown into a different Hyrule, they also traveled back in time.
Those who dealt with the complexities of time inwardly grimaced. Yet Twilight is eerily quiet, the Captainâs words confirming his thoughts while also worsening his dread.
The ranchhand goes silent, an air of unease leaking into the space around him. His eyes reflect a skittish gleam as if anything could set him off anytime soon.
The time and memory of the forest made him anxious, almost mirroring the memory that haunts his dreamsâthe very last memory he holds of you.
Judging from where they stand, Twilight knows heâs near the scene of the incidentâyour deathâand the realization makes him wince uncomfortably.
His skin tingles from the sunâs hot rays just like it had been years ago on this wretched day. Twilight bristles as his enhanced sense of hearing picks up on the familiar cries and roars of that cursed day.
A painful ache spreads throughout Twilightâs body as his mind wanders to you, and Goddesses, the painful memory intensifies the ache he feels. Sky takes notice of his odd, seemingly pained demeanor and moves his hand to place it on Twilightâs shoulder but itâs only met with air.
He bolts, weaving through the group from his spot at the very back before his silhouette starts to become a wisp of dark fur amongst the shrubbery.
âTwilight!â Sky shouts, starting to give chase after the said man. A split second hasnât even passed before Twilightâs fellow brothers-in-arms follow his lead, confusion starting to fill their veins as their guards are raised and strengthened.
â à©â©â§â*°àżàŸă
Itâs odd, the forest is quiet. Birds no longer sang nor trees danced with the windâs embrace and the wild, erratic beat of his heart is the only sound that fills Twilightâs ears.
His mind drifts to you and an all too familiar ache starts to grow in his chest, one that heâs tried to ignore but is always incessantly lingering.
His childhood best friend, who smiled at everything heâd say regardless of how dumb it was, the very best friend whom he had developed a strong love for and gradually transformed into his childhood lover accompanying him from their halcyon days of their youth to their late teens.
Twilightâs body aches as he reaches the clearing before the bridge and heâs taken to the day you were taken from him.
Hours before he was transformed into a beast of twilight, his village had been attacked by armed bulbins who wracked up a storm of chaos before closing in on the spirit residing in Ordon Spring, effectively throwing the area at the mercy of the twilight that befell upon it.
It was only when you both came back from the woods, hand in hand with Twilight as love-struck grins dotted your faces, that you crossed paths with the bulbins riding atop a giant wild boar, one having an explosive arrow readily nocked.
Twilight had pushed you behind him but the beasts were faster as they took advantage of Epona bolting due to the sudden panic. Being separated by mere meters, he had felt a painful pressure against the back of his head as the world around Twilight became a muddled canvas of colors bleeding into each other.
But before the world had gone dark, an explosion of yellow and red rips out before his eyes. He electric blue orbs catch onto your figure flying backwards, being blown over and into the ravine by the explosion, a scream ripping itself from your throat as you fell.
He now experiences the whole ordeal over again, only now conscious and fully prepared. But time was unkind and mercilessly slipped through his fingers quickly like fine sand.Â
He was late by a few minutes and as punishment, Twilight is forced to relive the very moment that kills him inside.
Twilight sees the same bulblin swing its club at his younger self but ignores it as his body carries him farther. He hears the Captainâs shouts of him to come back and regroup as his brothers quickly tear down the foes, but itâs all muffled and drowned out to the Hero of Twilight as his eyes latch onto you.
Confusion filled murmurs reach his sharp ears but he pains no mind, choosing to keep his pale blue eyes steadily fixated on you.
Youâre the only thing Twilight could focus on.
But itâs too late.
The very same flurry of red and yellow flashes before his eyes and your pained scream deafens his ears, the heat from the explosion hot against his skin yet why does he burn when your eyes meet his so briefly?
Youâre free falling to your death, the very same death heâs lived through and haunts him when the moon rises.
He had lost you before and he might lose you once more.
Hands shifting with the grapple connected to his arm guard, Twilight picks up the pace before he throws himself over the cliff.
The roar of the wind running past his ears deafens Timeâs shout and the screams of worry from his fellow warriors of courage, but none of that mattered to him.
Twilightâs focus was solely on you.
And as the wind runs past him, heâs ripped from reality as his thoughts envelope him in a bitter embrace.
He wanted it allâeverything related to you; a future together, a simple and safe life together.
Was it such a greedy wish of his?
Mercifully, time seems to slow and his heart breaks at the tears flying from your eyes as your limbs flail wildly against the wind rushing past you.
A flurry of thoughts rushes through his head once more yet one stands out from the rest: what were you thinking of as you fell?Â
Did you ever hope heâd come save you? Were you disappointed when you realized he wasnât coming? Did you ever wish you had never met him?Â
The last thought is haunting, pain and anxiety prickling at him as he realized that it was he who insisted for you to come with him on that fateful day.
Twilightâs mind blanks as his fingers brush against yours and the contact alone sends bolts of electricity running atop his skin and all over his body.
Itâs a familiar feeling Twilight had been yearning to feel again.
Your eyes snap open, riddled with unshed tears as they blearily focus on his blue seafoam colored eyes.
The eye contact ignites a fire in his heart and Twilight allows himself to finally admit that he misses staring into your eyes which twinkled with delight and love whenever they would meet his.
Itâs a familiar occurrence that Twilight repeatedly wished for to happen again.
Twilightâs left arm wraps itself around your waist, pulling your body flush against his causing his heart to bloom at the contact and it sets off a chain reaction.
He catches a faint whiff of your scent and it throws him into the heartwarming memories of your halcyon days filled with obvious pining and poorly hidden love-struck gazes.
Itâs a familiar scent that sends him reeling into memories of him placing soft kisses atop your head, interlacing your hands that always seemed to send sparks flying down his spine, and embracing you whenever heâd catch you after a game of tag with the younger village children.
Those memoriesâthe scars of your loveâleft him breathless as he so badly wished for things to have happened differently.
Twilight had lost you before.
Heâll be damned if he did again.Â
Liftings his right arm, Twilight fires the hook before he tightens his grip around your waist.
A grunt tumbles from his lips as the grapple harshly tugs you both, finally latching onto something solid and only does he lower his guard slightly.
His heart stutters before a phantom pain fills his chest as you tightly wrap your arms around his neck, face buried securely in the juncture of his neck.
The smallest of touches causes tremors of lightning to dance on Twilightâs skin and when your eyes meet his, the eye contact alone lights his heart ablaze.Â
Despite the adrenaline coursing through his veins and the shocking effect you've always held over him, the ever so comforting smell of you leaves him relaxed.
Experiencing the things Twilight has repeatedly yearned for felt like a dream and now that youâre in his embrace, alive, deepens the scars of your love forever etched into his heart and the very being of his soul.
Twilight couldnât help but feel that he could have had it all.

Twilightâs fingers tilt your chin up and the scene before you causes you to freeze in place, petrified almost as if you'd gazed into a gorgon's stony eyes.
Though his touch is soft, gentle even, his eyes were a stark contrast to his delicate grip on your chin.
Electric blue eyes seemed to light ablaze with fires of passion and hunger, they darkened as they traced every tantalizing feature of yours.
His thumb softly smooths itself against the skin of your jaw before he moves closer. His musky scent of molten amber and cinnamon enveloping you whole, causing a wave of heat and fire to spread beneath your skin.
"Run." Twilight's voice sends shocks of electricity buzzing through your veins.
Lips ghosting over the shell of your ear, the man forcibly holds himself back from pouncing on you right at this moment as you shiver at the contact.
There you stood in front of him, finally in his grasp and his for the taking, draped in the softest white silk as the skin of your tantalizing shoulders and neck teases him insane.
You look up to the man towering over you, eyes becoming doe-like and a growl rips itself from Twilight's throat. "If I catch you," His lips slowly move downwards, teasing against the sweet skin of the junction between your neck and shoulder.
Twilight's lips stop and hover over your pulse point, his mouth watering at the sweet, addicting scent you emanate. "I take you as mine."
He smells the spike of your heat and his electrifying blue eyes nearly roll back at your scent. "You have till that ridge to clear." He hums softly, not bothering to mask the want and desire dripping from his words.
You open your mouth to speak but he hushes you and you realize the situation you're in as his eyes, a soft blue-silver hue in the moon's light, pierces your own. "Run, or I take you here and now."
Twilight pulls away, albeit unwillingly, and soaks in the entirety of you. He sees your hesitance and you don't move, biting your bottom lip softly causing a growl to leave his lips at your ministration as Twilight resists the urge of his to capture your lips and bite it himself.
âSoon.â He promises himself as a wolfish grin works its way onto his lips.
His eyes suddenly darken and you finally take a step back before he quickly closes on you once more, bringing his lips to your ear. "Run."

LU headcanon
Wild is a sneaky klepto.
Like he won't take things from the rest of the chain, he has a kind of code or something, but when the chain reaches towns/villages and anything like that, Wild leaves with 10x more then he came with.
And the rest of the chain doesn't really notice. Like they question some stuff but don't put the dots together.
"how is it that Wild breaks so many weapons but seems to always have something to fight with?" Four, Sky, and Warriors question "he must have a lot of weapons on him"
"how does he make so much food when we only see him buy a few things and scavenge a little bit?" Wonder Legend, and Hyrule? "Must have a lot saved up from before we met him."
"how did he get those boots that I swear I saw on that guy over at the tavern?" Thinks Time "must have bought them off him."
Twilight is starting to piece things together but at the same time is like saying to himself "no he wouldn't do that"
The only one who kind of knows is Wind for obvious reasons but he doesn't say anything, because he ain't no snitch.
It's not until way later in the adventure that everyone starts to notice that Wild has some pretty sticky fingers and starts to think about things that happened that would only make sense if Wild was a kleptomaniac.
1. Guards asking people if they know anything about their missing weapons.
2. Ladles, Axe's, and other stuff being there one moment and gone the next.
3. Food stuff being left out with no one watching it disappearing mysteriously.
And a whole bunch of other stuff.
Once all the pieces fell together they had to confront Wild about his stealing problem.
Now whenever they go to towns/villages they have to keep wild on a rope or someone (not Wind ever) has to watch him like a toddler.
The first time the chain went to Twilights era
Don't you just hate it when your cub gets turned into a four year old?
This is a veeerrryyy rough sketch I did for my new au! I might try to make it digital and actually finish it at some point but I'm very lazy lmao.
General concept of the au : The chain is cursed to be the age when they first wielded a sword. Wild happens to be the youngest and ofc Twi will be EXTRA protective over his cub. I'll write more about it soon!!
