Since it's the month of May, here are some of my MerMay art. ◉‿◉
My first Mer creation
Btw, these artworks were originally posted on Cara (my comfort art site♡) during the '23 MerMay event there. I asked one of the admins if it's okay for me to submit unconventional-looking merfolks, and they said yes. They actually liked my beloved abominations. lol
"Deep Sea Queen"
The name is just a reference to Deep Sea King from One Punch Man. I just wanted to call her DSQ, bc she's a deep sea creature and a queen. 💅😂 I also kinda referenced an angler fish (for that head-arm extension thingy), gold fish (for the body), and one of my older sisters (for the long flowy hair). ♡ lol
"Pardon May"
Fun fact: Squids have tentacles but octopuses don't. Both have 8 arms (not tentacles!), but squids also have two longer tentacles (appendages that only have suctions at the end of limb) used to catch fish and shrimp in open-ocean waters. Octopuses have 8 appendages while squids have 10 (8 arms and 2 tentacles).
"Safe Mother"
I just literally combined two prompts: "safe" and "mother." (≧▽≦)
"Heye"
Its name is pronounced like the greeting "Hi" but the 'i" is replaced with "eye" for obvious reasons. Also, I just thought of an octopus, a jellyfish, thalassophobia and Mike Wazowski when I drew this. lol
"Tiptoe Thru the Tulips"
I named them Speckle and Jawrothy. ♡

"Mr. Dapper"
I just wanted to draw a fine gentlemer. The prompt was red, btw. (It may not be obvious, so I'd like to point out that his earring is a golden fish hook.🪝🎣)
"Footima, the Sea Snail(?)"
The prompt was friend. So, here's my dear friend, Footima. 🥰😂

Still gonna try to draw the rest of the campers+ but my motivation is down the drainnn

In honor of mermay I have drawn the main trio of Camp Camp!
Max is a betta fish, Nikki is a leopard shark, and Neil is a harbor porpoise :D
(Let’s say that this is magical merperson water that both salt and fresh water creatures can live in)
This was supposed to be a silly low effort doodle but I found a new brush and chaos ensued
Because the creativity demons have taken me, I plan to hopefully draw the rest of the Camp Camp characters and maybe some others this month!
