Missing the old Dexter
A/N: This is completely self-indulgent, since my Dexter Vex feels were at a peak. This is set during SOW, but there are no spoilers involved. Valkyrie and Tanith miss the old Dexter and Skulduggery knows how to get to him.
„I’m worried about him.“
Tanith looked up from cleaning her sword and sent Valkyrie a clueless look. „I’m worried about all of us.“ Meaningfully she motioned at the all surrounding death threats of the Leibniz Universe. „But do specify.“
Valkyrie put her head up on her hands and sighed. „Dexter. He is … not himself.“
Taniths’ shoulders slumped down a little. It was true, she had noticed it herself. But what was there to do about it? He was marked by all the things that have happened to him. He didn’t take life as lightly as he used to. He wasn’t an adventurer anymore, but a man who had seen too much, had endured too much, had lost too much. He was slowly but securely turning into Skulduggery. There was still a spark inside of him that reminded her of the old Dexter - a friendly wink, a sudden uncontrollable laugh, an instinctively done dance move during a fight. But a lot was missing. So much of him wasn’t there. And the sparks didn’t last long. They vanished, making space for the grim, scarred, silent Dexter whose beard had replaced his smile.
„Do you think there is anything we can do to…“ Valkyrie stopped mid-sentence, sighing like any attempt of restoring the old Dexter was hopeless from the start. Her sad face combined with the sad surroundings and the sad situation made Tanith wish for a medicine strong enough to cure her friends traumas alltogether. All of them wiped away, making space for happy memories and happy new experiences.
Skulduggery started getting up from where he had been meditating close-by and put on his hat. He stayed standing there, seemingly checking if Saracen and Dexter were returning from their hunt. Gently and surprisingly moved he said: „I can help.“

why you should listen to The Strange Case of Starship Iris
there is an absolutely fantastic podcast that a good friend of mine was recommending for me to listen to for months and I finally did and just. damn. it’s only eight episodes long; I meant to listen to one episode and I accidentally binge-listened to the entire thing in an evening. highly enjoyable, 10/10 recommend. seriously if you have ever trusted my judgement put aside a long car ride or an afternoon of chores or even just an afternoon of nothing and make your life that much of a cooler place for having listened
The Strange Case of Starship Iris is a really badass sci-fi thriller told like an epistolary novel except I guess that makes it an epistolary podcast, which is to say, every piece that you listen to is an in-universe transmission that is being played. The characters are fantastic. (and incredibly diverse, and it casually touches on diversity issues and classism issues and all that jazz in really solid ways) The worldbuilding is fantastic. The plot is fantastic and honestly each episode gets more exciting than the next and just I could scream about the voice acting and the use of medium and the writing is so good and seriously this is probably the best podcast I have ever listened to, just from the clever useage of the medium alone, epistolary podcasts are my new favorite thing.

hey, i was wondering if you had any thoughts about sokka returning to piandao to continue his training? do you think he does? what does that look like?
considering he only spent a total of 2 days with piandao and sokka is piandao’s favorite human ever to walk this earth apparently, i’m sure they’d reunite at some point, and sooner rather than later (other than at the white lotus encampment, i mean). i’m sure they would continue training (swordsmanship, painting, calligraphy, etc), maybe play pai sho together, and gossip about the (other) members of the white lotus. i think their relationship would eventually evolve past student + master, cause if sokka was able to achieve that much after a day it probably wouldn’t take long for piandao to be like “i have nothing more to teach you.” of course, they remain lifelong friends (he’s not sokka’s first weirdly older friend, and he won’t be his last. it’s cause sokka has grandpa energy). not to mention they see each other regularly at white lotus meetings. and when piandao dies, he leaves everything to sokka.
gabrielle saying that for the few minutes xena's soul was possessing her body she felt warm and protected..... what if you did horrible things in your past and felt like an irredeemably bad person and you were a warrior who doesn't have it in her to give up the fight and you thought that made you bad beyond saving but then this woman you've fallen in love with (against all odds) tells you that for a few minutes when she could feel your spirit inside of her and truly understand what it was like to be you, she felt nothing but safe and warm and loved and protected. what then. 😐

The one who warmed my heart!
When they first arrived we were so excited to name them, then slowly they became a part of us.They saw us sobbing at night, laughing our hearts out, feeling numb and healing. Though they can't speak or feel yet they give us the warmth our heart needs, a simple hug with them feels comfortable. We're not always good to them as we sometimes use them as our pillow, punching bags still they don't complain they stay with us close.

gosh, this actually took me more than an hour to do. anyway, tumblr saw this first!!
i also know that there are no scenes from ddba...and that's cause i can't find any scenepacks 😃 so i opted for the last scene of them in the punisher s2.
totally will redo once i find a ddba scenepack (recommend me some accounts that do have them!!)

So there’s this huge dudebro in my class, who, yesterday, sat next to me. And I’m sitting there sweating because like… I’m wearing my shirt with the lesbian flag on it, and he’s the most popular jock in school, and always has this look on his face that say ‘I can and will kill you’. He looks me up and down, stares at me for a minute and then goes, “So. Girls in skirts and long socks, am I right?”
To which I nodded solemnly, both out of agreement, surprise and also a healthy amount of awkward fear. He nodded and went, “You get it.”
I said, “Yep.” He fistbumped me, and on went our lives.
Night surprise
Our three eldest cats have a simple routine: play, eat, sleep. For whatever reason, the youngest cat is the opposite: sleep, eat, play.
She is also very smart. She loves the laser pointer, and knows that it lives next to our bedside table; and will sit on the aforesaid table and sing to us when she wants to play.
This is all very cute except at nighttime, as we would like to sleep and she would like to play. This was the case last night, and unfortunately the cat would not listen to our polite requests to desist and so she was shut out of the room.
What then followed was a twenty-minute admixture of singing from the hallway and banging on the door. Eventually she grew bored, and decided to revisit another of her favorite pastimes (trying to pry the under-sink closet in the bathroom open; a process that involves more loud banging).
In the middle of the night, I visit the bathroom and as I’m sitting there in the dark, doing my thing, the youngest cat just casually strolls out of the closet like Samara crawling out of the television!
Okay. I just finished reading Queens of Moirai and ... OMG! The cliffhanger!!!!! I immediately bought the second book!
Currently reading Queens of Moirai and I've got to say that I wasn't super into it at first but it's starting to grow on me. Not the best book I've read this year but it's still pretty good.
