A drawing and some music I made a while ago.
This was sort of what got me practicing drawing, since it was one of the first pieces I was proud of, but I couldn’t (and still can’t) consistently make things I was proud of or that looked like what I’d imagined in my head.
Couple days later I think we're basically done. I'd like to add an instrumental repeat of the verse at the end to round it out but otherwise why not keep it short and sweet.

Start in the middle I don't need to know where you're from Not every riddle is given to be answered Here we are now And I'm trying to say what I, what I mean say what I mean Shoulder to the plow, just tell me what it is you heard
You know youth is but the seed of age Ten years the field lay fallow Then erupted in a golden blaze But the slash and burn will hallow
So draw back from the end You don't need to know where I'll go Dot to dot descending ever ever after Pan, play your pipes And let the wild abandon abandon Your civilized vice of believing life is painted by numbers
Because life is but the seed of death Abstracting all that came before From the roots and branches that are left To enrich the pasture's open door
A tune and chords came to me out of nowhere while I was practicing, part of which happened to line up perfectly with a lyrical snippet I'd already written. The rest of the lyrics sprung up almost effortlessly and now I'm 1/3-1/2 way through a new song. Fun! Still working out timing and chords so you know. The note I hit or rather don't on "fallow" is um. Let's not speak of it. but I'm excited to finish and polish this one.
