I am SO NORMAL ABOUT THIS!!!!
It would be very weird indeed.
In the Cotl Universe, if the 7 Deadly Sins were personified as animals, which 7 would you choose?
Think my picks would be
Pride - Lion
Greed - Crab
Lust - Rabbit
Gluttony - Pig
Envy - Dog
Wrath - Bull
Sloth - Koala
But I'm curious to hear the thoughts and ideas of others.
I love this more than words can describe! <3
The fandom needs far more moments like this! T~T
Behold, my sappiest (and longest) Lari comic yet, I hope ya'll enjoy some tooth-rottingly sweet fluff UvU More of me rambling under the cut:
Honestly I was so worried about posting this one, I wrote it when I was really needing some comfort so it turned out very sweet, less humorous than my other shitten stuff, but hey if you've watched and liked my animatic that's what you're here for anyways >:)
As much as I love feral Nari I just love writing him being all soft and chilled out tbh, this cat has been fully domesticated over years of TLC (Tender Lamb Care), I just hope others like it as much as I do too :p
For now, gonna say Narinder shoulda saw the writing on the wall for sure. But I'll chock it up to to sheer desperation and social isolation. Ewen was their only ticket out at the time and despite all his power, he's shown he can't see the future consequences of his decisions
Big Narilamb comic "Distant " p 1/3
Since these are so big doing them one at a time. This one is mostly flashback so it works alone
Driving 10 hours tomorrow, so its going up early so I'll hopefully have comments to keep me entertained.
lol its funny how for quiet a few people, Narinder is just simply being replaced and pushed to the side by the Goat. Probably all part of the developer's plan to keep the demand for Narilamb to become canon to a complete minimum. Introduce a similar designed character but of polar opposite presentation and everyone will ship the two What-If characters because they're of the same species over the Sheep and Cat.
Diabolical and i love this stupid idea lol
Love this dynamic more than I can accurately describe without rambling โค๏ธโ๐ฅ
First Dance
This wouldn't get out of my head, so I got it out of my head by drawing it
Alright, since Madam Mel has goated me into revealing my extremely amateurish thoughts, here goes.
I've had my suspicions on how Narinder was able to get a hold of the Last Lamb, and how he was even able to bring it back to life in the first place. It comes with too many plotholes that, thankfully the game leaves open to interpretation so here are my theories and One I think Mrs @melled42 is gunning for.
The first Theory being that Shamura sent the last Lamb to Narinder either intentionally as a show to break Narinder's dream of returning and to accept his fate as being bound to Hell's limbo, or unintentionally as a last way to give Narinder a chance to free himself and repent for his actions of slaughtering unwillingly innocents and to punish himself for the actions he committed against his most favorite sibling. There are words Shamura uses that alludes to the idea that he may have purposely given Narinder the Lamb, the same way he gave Narinder Aym and Ba'al, probably due to how damaged his mind was and how he drifts in and out because of his brain damage. I can go more into this theory because its a personal one of mine and part of my headcanon
However, I believe Melled42 is going for my second theory and one I hope isn't the case (Game-Canonwise) but..... Narinder may have killed the Lamb himself, directly in order to get direct control of the creature's life, to will it for his own purpose. I came to this conclusion because Narinder's ultimate goal was to control Life AND Death, and he never fully achieved the goal, because his siblings stopped him before he could break such a fundamental law of nature. Death is only supposed to go 1 way, so for Narinder to even have the power to perverse such a Primordial Law means he had to have had a direct connection and influence over Lamb (in this case Ewen's) death, to control their aspect of Life and thus, create a creature not bound by the Laws and Limitations Narinder actively sought to break.
All this is to say, the theory is that Narinder intentionally killed Ewen himself to give him life that bounds Ewen to Narinder through the power of the Red Crown. This would explain why Lamb can detach its head and still remain alive and aware, retain all their powers and abilities without aging physically, while also exhibiting God-Like effects such as the black blood or ichor if you will, that leaks from a God's wounds. Lamb wasn't killed by the Headsmen, he was killed somehow stealthily through an act by Narinder himself.
Its extremely twisted, yet right up Narinder's alley. I'm against it personally but fuck it would fit if this is what Melled42 is going for. That the twisted mentality the two of them tend to feed into one another, the act that started all of this, was Narinder killing Lamb to claim their life and soul for himself, before his siblings could get the job done and ruin his plans. I like this, and HATE it because it creates a full circle moment that only adds to the selfish depravity of their natures as a whole, that due to the solitary existence both were forced to endure, the empty, meaningless deaths they were both part of and directly influenced with their actions, connects them both on an extremely primal level where only they and they alone, can understand stand each other completely.
I wanted to keep this grenade tucked away but Madam Mel asked so.... here it is. If I'm wrong, I fully accept it because even I see the cracks in my theory but damnit..... brain is going wild with ideas.
An explanation for the wound on Ewen's, my lamb's neck. I've had this headcannon since first seeing the bishops but it kind of took a life of its own
When you're a power hungry controlling monster but they're way too into it, even for you
patreons got this early
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
Quite a bit to unpack here but... does give a bit more insight to the "never let you go" line used in the first lore-focused comic. Also explains why Narinder gets his head cut off as well later... somewhat. Wow. ๐ซ
Bet Narinder is REEEEAAALLY wishing he read Ewen's mind when he had the chance before. Good gravy ๐ Imma need more info before I can go anymore indepth than this. Don't need to make anymore incorrect assessments.

Now see, for those of you who love that dark love, this is an example of sinful cotl romance. Actual affection? Egad! I imagine it hurts the eyes of so many I bet lol
Comic based on the references below, suggested a while time ago by @itislils2004
I ACCIDENTALLY CAME UP WITH A PRIEST AU while doing this cuz the guys reminded me of............priests. Idk. Oh welp it happens-
TAGGED AS MATure just to be safe btw!
Sorry for the long post, but hope yall like the foob <3
Hell fucking yeah!
Now THIS is something I'm annoyed about when it comes to other members of the fandom when dealing with Narinder after the "Spare" option. Yes, Narinder would be very angry with Lamb and probably try to kill them at some point, but never does anyone show Narinder losing all sense of hope and drive for existing and choosing to just, end it all himself.
The guy was jealous of his siblings and later betrayed by them, bound and sealed in his own domain for 1,000 years after having his arms damaged in their battle. He's forced to wait alone with two kits and no one to really converse with on their own level for all that time, only to be given a new beacon of Hope for his dream in the form of the lamb.
Desperate, he offers his powers and strength to his chosen, open to be freed from his binds and once his dream is within his grasp once more, he's betrayed by the very person whom he gave his power too, having the rest of his power taken, his kids killed in front of him, and he's forced into a mortal form where he has to watch someone else who betrayed him, live out his dream, in front of him for all eternity.
This should fundamentally break him and since Death would be a release, if Narinder couldn't win his power back, get away from the Lamb, taking his own life would become his only option. A guy like him would rather not exist, than endure the hell of watching the person who stole his children, his powers and his dream, live the life he wanted to achieve. I Wish more Artists touched upon this more.
.... Well... Off to a fantastic start aren't we? prev / first / next
TL:DR - Fox is right and Ewen/Narinder will have to make a tough decision very soon
Alright gonna drop this here but don't got too much to add because someone else beat me to it and was so on point, I'm annoyed my lack of sleep made me slow on the follow-up.
But the one thing I'll add, at least from my perspective is this; I think the Fox is correct and Lamb fears this fact of sentient nature. In truth, their relationship with Narinder is extremely one-sided, especially from their point of view. Its warranted of course, considering what Ewen was forced to become, all in order to survive. Their concept of romance and a relationship is so warped and skewed that its no wonder they believe Affection Control = Love and Devotion.
The same could be said for Narinder because, all things considered, the guy is a God. His relationship with mortals isn't the same as someone of his own kind, on his own level so his relationship with Lamb is nearly as flawed in its own right. Considering he has something of a personal connection with Forneus, Aym and Ba'al, its safe to assume to some degree, he aware of what it means and how it feels to develop an emotional attachment. It seems that maturity is coming through his relationship with Lamb who is helping him return back to that mentality he had probably before his 1,000 year-long isolation that probably drove him to a deeper level of insanity before his siblings bound him.
Now cutting all this rambling aside, I say the Fox is right in that Ewen's relationship is one-sided because they're only acting in self-interest and fulfilling their own desires at the moment. They keep Narinder under their thumb and refuse to give him the truest opportunity to leave or choose between Power or Connection. By keeping the crown, they know they're stronger than Narinder and can force him to their will, whenever they want. They have all the control in the relationship, but that of course is not a relationship of love or devotion, and the Fox points this out, much to Ewen's dismay and fear.
I think (my belief of course), if Ewen wants to truly know if they are loved, they're going to have to offer Narinder a truly honest decision and follow through with it 100% no matter the outcome, with absolutely no expectations or demands. They need to willing put themselves in a completely vulnerable state and offer Narinder the Red Crown to see if Narinder will choose Power or Love and no matter what he picks, they have to abide by that decision absolutely. In many ways, humility and faith would be the ultimate test of their growth and connection as an Ascended Mortal and a Fallen God
Eh but this is me just rambling and if you think this is bad, should have seen the 9 page essay I wrote and was trying to trim down. >_> I got issues.... lots and lots of issues... but this is damn good shit from @melled42 and I've been foaming at the mouth, waiting for updates like a kid watching Saturday Morning Cartoons!
COTL narilamb comic
Changes part 1, part 2 tomorrow
(all along with wips and stuff a week early on patreon)
Looks like the lamb has a fox friend. we're reaching the last 3rd of these comics, lets gooooo
I would say it definitely it should be metaphorical. The idea would set it apart from, but would still serve as a good parallel for the core universe. The idea that Narinder has his power and social influence limited/controlled by his other siblings through magic would be ideal and to bypass this limitation, he shares his power with Lamb who has no true allegiance to anyone but themselves.
As for the siblings, I'd offer an idea but please, do not let me take or taint your creative process and influence, just tossing my two cents into the mix;
But instead of Lamb needing to outright kill the other siblings, possibly because they're either too stronger or doing so 1 at a time would result in all the other regions within their empire to instantly turn against Narinder and foil the plan, what if Narinder simply wants to usurp each of them by having each of them defeated and humiliated publicly at their own area of expertise, causing their Nobles, Followers and Subjects to lose faith in them and change their allegiance, thus removing their power of authority?
A test of Foresight for Leshy, one that involves solving puzzles or moving through a maze filled with traps and illusions. A test of Strength for Heket, proving their endurance by surviving a harsh ordeal like carrying a bolder to a location under a certain time. A test of Knowledge for Kallamar, something that challenges the Lamb's expertise in biology, chemistry or trivia. And a test of Skill for Shamura, defeating a series of varying combatants leading up to the head honcho himself.
Then finally when Narinder thinks its their time to shine, Lamb challenges them as well for their title and throne in a test of Courage that puts their lives on the line against one another (Can decided if he dies or not).
But anyways, those my late night thoughts. Take them as you shall with the smallest grains of salt you can muster lol
wait does narinder still get chained up in your royal au? asking bc the kisses keep the lamb from going crazy and if they didn't see him because he's locked up ๐ฅ
Im still not sure on what to do with his and his siblings backstory yet and wheter if the chained up thing should be a methoporical or a literal one
Hurts so damn good! Haven't seen an ending for the Narilamb pairing that hit this hard since @circuscountdowns's 2-part image about it. It deserves a lot more views and attention. Such a solemn and strong way to end the story of two immortal beings who've spent eons together, watching the very changing rise and fall of countless eras.
For me, I just imagined them being alive so long and together for so long, they practically become forces of nature and existence itself, ascending to higher beings and even becoming outer entities that learn how to create, shape and balance aspects of existence itself. But this, i love this a lot. 10 Freaking Stars. Needs more love.
I made this comic as part of a class assignment, and I think it turned out really good! The original text came from a scrapped AU outline I wrote a while ago, but I loved this bit so much I decided to make a comic based on it. The basic background info for this story is fairly simple: the Lamb renounced the Red Crown. Them and Narinder are the last remaining immortals.
I might make a prequel comic to this, but I'm not sure. I think I'll call it After the End AU if that's the case.
(also just because I'm a bit paranoid about stuff like this: disclaimer that the hands on page 2 were traced, but with my own image)
Absolutely love this page
I find myself coming back to this every so often and the idea of Narinder struggling with clasps, buckles, and harnesses is now my permanent headcanon. ๐คฃ๐๐คฃ๐๐คฃ๐
I mean it makes sense. After having his arms damaged in the battle with his siblings and being chained by his wrists in an eternal void for 1,000+ years, i imagine he'd lose precise motor function in his hands. So from now on, every AU for me, he's got Fumble Fingers and I love it! ๐
WHAT.
Lmao watch him wobble his way outta there

Bishop Weapons
To anyone who reads this, I am curious of your opinion. In terms of signature weapons, Lamb is often assoicated with a short board sword while Narinder is given a Scythe to fit his "Death" title. But what about the other Bishops. While reduced to moral forms, what weapons do you think would become their signature in a combat situation?
Nah... Melled42's fan child design is top-tier. Got me Damm near dry-heaving ๐คโค๏ธโ๐ฅ
doodled my narilamb kid bell because i wanted to get her wool pattern down like her lamb parent.
good morning cotl community i am not immune to narinder scythe propaganda
narilamb doodles while i work on other stuff !!
heartwarming: girls first post is narilamb
This made me laugh really hard
made this shitpost months ago and forgot about it
This is so adorable, I donโt think my body knows how to process the joy this brings me < 3
Iโll just explode into confetti ( pop )
How would the lamb or nair react if the other turned really small
Narinder-he's used to it, he was giant for 1000 years and met the lamb as such so he's just amused
The Lamb, Anthea-Tiny spouse so smol smooch smooch smooch
Hello new followers!
I feel the need to mention that I am also working on a oneshot for this au. It does tie into the main story! This oneshot happens well after the comic I just posted.
Tensions have eased between them slightly. The Lamb is not angry with Narinder anymore and Narinder is still an emotionally constipated asshole. So theyโre making some slight progress.
I wonโt give too much context for these little snippets because I enjoy surprising my readers. :)
Enjoy what crumbs I sprinkle as I continue to slowly chip away at this lol
(if you saw this post without the photos originally...no you didn't)
Anyway, narilamb angst be upon ye.
Sorry for being so inactive. I'm a senior in college, so I'm working on my capstone daily. o7
This comic was months in the making. Originally I was going to color and line it but that sounded like way too much work for me to get done in a timely manner so here's it in sketch form. Which I think still has the intended effect. (sorry if the style looks like it changes at some points)
This is a part of my au! This takes place weeks after Narinder's defeat so they're both still a little salty. Nari's becoming slightly softer as time goes on, though. Wonder why hmm
I love this au and I do plan on releasing some character designs along with a lore dump at some point...but that probably won't be until I graduate because I will be incredibly busy until then. So, if you have questions about my au. Please ask. Please. I love yapping about these blorbos. :]
okay byeee
I haven't talked much about my Lamb (Miel) yet, so here's a little insight. :) Miel is an observer. They are quite literally the shepherd of their flock. They both guide and watch over their followers. Sometimes they will sit on their steeple and watch the followers all day and night. This helps them be incredibly in tune with their followers' physical tells and wants, as well as their mental ones. Miel has a particular affinity for watching Narinder sulk around the cult when they spare him. They find his contradictory nature fascinating, even if they are still furious with him when he first arrives. This character trait is mostly based on me being incredibly nosy with my followers in game. Sometimes I won't even meditate to speed the day along, and I'll watch just these fools do silly things. Very entertaining.
what's a characteristic you've given your Lamb and why?
I'll go first: My Lamb talks a lot. They're a rambler, and I got the idea from spamming the 'B to Bleat' button in game. Lil dude has a special button to repeatedly make noise
